Yog Nog

This is so good. Like, omg. If you don’t like gourmands and are considering this because of the floral notes, turn away because this smells like vanilla ice cream and madeleine biscuits. It’s definitely a gourmand. While I do pick up on the floral side, it’s very minimal and smells so delicious, sweet and edible. I have heard that different bottles smell different depending on the batch, so I would recommend you buy this in person anyways just to make sure you get the better side of the batches, but I def got a good bottle and it is yummy! Referring to my bottle, it doesn’t smell like yoghurt to me, but I can understand why people are saying that because some of the other bottles smelled a bit more yoghurt-y in store compared to the one I purchased. Anyway, I love this and I would definitely recommend, just perhaps not a blind buy! 🤍

Lush scents can start off as scents for one with an acquired and quirky taste (or sense of smell). Yog Nog is no exception. It starts off with an enormous blast of buttery, creamy caramel. However, somewhere around the 10 minute mark it gets a weird sour quality that kinda throws off the scent, and that lingers for a good 15 minutes before the buttery caramel returns to the forefront, now joined with spices that a reminiscent of the ginger cookies spice mix, without the ginger. Kinda chai-ish as mentioned, but less strong than that. After an hour it is fully evolved and what remains is that chai being front and center, with the caramel in the background. Kind of the adult sister of SDJ 71. More spice, less vanilla-y caramel. I’ve been told that it’s corporate office safe by my colleagues today.

I blind-bought 100ml of this because I love gourmand scents and am a huge fan of HIWTK, Sticky Dates, and LTGTR. Yog Nog is a must if you enjoy these kinds of fragrances. To me, it smells exactly like a pumpkin spice cream frappuccino (no coffee) from Starbucks – sweet, autumnal, and, like all Lush scents, thick and strong. I do think it’s very much an autumn/winter fragrance, and even I might struggle with it in the summer.

I got the Yog Nog body spray after having used the body wash for a while, I personally love it. It's super sweet and addicting, smelling mostly of caramel with just a bit of spice. It's extremely strong and a little goes a long way, but I always get compliments on it and love smelling it on myself. The bottle is the only negative, it's uncomfortable to hold and ugly on a shelf, had to change it lol.

I really enjoy Yog Nog! It’s a true gourmand fragrance on my skin, I don’t get any flower notes. On me it smells like strait up ginger bread cookie! Very Christmas appropriate fragrance! Really sweet, spicy and creamy. I’m very pleasantly surprised by this body spray 👍🏻

my favorite body spray EVER!! very very long lasting, gets tons of compliments, and people say i smell like cookies and christmas. i've loved yog nog for years, it is so worth it. :-)

I love this, like Christmas in a bottle. I wear it every year around Christmas. Definitely not a summer fragrance.

This smells like a gingerbread cookie! It's sweet and gourmand but dry and spicy from the clove. The clove in this is pretty strong, which comes across like ginger or cinnamon to my nose. The clove is almost too spicy for me but as it dries down, it calms down to a more chai-like smell. This also smells similar in ways to Killian's Angel Share in terms of that sort of spicy cinnamon sweetness that I get in that fragrance as well. A little bit goes a long way with this one, like most of the Lush body sprays, so you only need so spray about 2-3 sprays maximum. I like this one but if I had to pick from the plethora of gourmand body sprays Lush makes, Let the Good Times Roll is my all-time favorite (yes, even over the ever-so popular Sticky Dates).

Copy of my review under the perfume on September 24th, 2024, back when the body spray wasn't on Fragrantica. This was back in stock as body spray two days ago and I managed to grab a bottle before it disappeared again from the site. It came today and I smell zero resemblance to Unknown Pleasures, but 80% (almost a dupe) to the discontinued Vanille Charnelle by Annick Goutal, which I own. The "eggy" effect is due to the ylang ylang - vanilla combo. Yog Nog has cloves on top, which is all you can smell in the initial blast, so I suggest to refrain from smelling/judging it the first 10 minutes. When the cloves subside, this is a very nice gourmand vanilla pudding with gingerbread dry down. Very lovely and not too strong: well done, Lush!

It was really just caramel on paper but I gave it a chance and tested on my skin, which I’m glad I did cause this is such a beautiful gourmand spicy scent on my skin! Sweet clove and vanilla are the main characters here since the buttery caramel note fades away after like fifteen minutes.

Absolute dream of a Christmassy body spray, I think its definitely one of lush's more underrated gourmands, Like a milky buttery spicy cookie. My co-workers have told me it smells like gingerbread on me and it's definitely a compliment getter for the winter season!

I really like this scent, which I don't like is clove note gets dominant by time but overall it's a sweet caramel scent, lighter than sticky dates

I'm soo confused by this one. At first, it is POTENT and will have you smell like burnt butter for like one hour. Then after 2 hours, you start to smell the spicy cloves with a hint of caramel... It might be pleasant for some but not for me. I don't think it smells like gingerbread at all. But after 4+ hours... !!! It blooms into a wonderful caramel vanilla scent with a hint of spice and musk... Not too sweet either (imo) It's so so SO delicious I can't get enough of it. This had me smelling my own arms like a freak. Unfortunately I am STILL not sure if I really want to spend $35 on a scent I can't stand for the first 5 hours lol It's a quite complex fragrance and really good value for its price . also it lasts forever

very warm and comforting and lives up to its name, upon first spray it’s very buttery and sweet, it settles into a more dessert like fragrance with brown sugar, and almost streusel like? my mother had said it smells like a cinnamon’s vanilla apple desert, like a crumble with ice cream.

very strong, good projection. initially smells buttery, then dries down into what smells like a spiced holiday biscuit. definitely not for me however...

I liked this perfume at first, and thought it had an okay scent to it, a bit strong but i expected that and wanted it. My husband tried it once and told me it smelled like the dentist, after that anytime i use it, there's a very weird floral, almost puke like smell to me that i can't get past, a bit disappointing :/

Smells absolutely divine the first 30 seconds(!) on my skin after which all I can smell is really harsh cloves.

i didnt really like clove, especially mixed with ylang ylang

i really like the yog nog shower gel and considered purchasing the shower gel&body mist gift set. SO glad i didnt buy it. got to spray it on myself in store and wow, sweet&acid pee smell. To be fair, this evil scent goes away after a while, but i can't get over the first minutes of this. Horrendous and not worth it. i'll just stick to the shower gel

Of all the sweet gourmand body sprays of Lush, I find that Yog Nog is absolutely timeless. I had a Let The Good Times Roll phase and a Sticky Dates phase, but I ended up getting tired of them. Not Yog Nog. I only wear it in the fall/winter and I almost get excited to wear it again when the weather gets cold again. This is the ultimate sweet gourmand christmas scent of ALL TIME!! Spicy, buttery, caramel cookies. I love to layer with my cheirosa 40 on top of it. I smell like a delicious christmas dessert. Yum!

i need this it’s the perfect scent ever it’s creamy, vanilla, caramel, lactonic, slightly spicy oh my days i just need it. sprayed this on my coat as i wanted to test this and after about an hour of walking through town i could just smell this, even when i got home after a few hours it was still extremely strong update: i ended up getting it a few days later because i couldn’t stop thinking about it

This last forever on clothing! It's a very odd scent. It's sweet and creamy but it really smell woods, (like a sauna) and I have to fight against smelling a teeny bit of pickle, but I think that must be sandlewood? It's a good scent but I definitely am doing summersaults thinking about what I am smelling.

the caramel notes are a bit over powering for me to really smell much of the other notes. it’s just so strong and overly sweet i feel like i need something else to balance it out like the pumpkin spice adds enough spiciness to it that it’s balanced when worn together.

It’s a lot more floral compared to the body washes. Someone said it smelt like yoghurt which I can kinda see. Shame the original body was was divine the reformulation and all yog nog products after it are just not good anymore

I’ve decanted it into a bottle that sprays less and I find I reach for it more. So, so incredibly sweet with a little bit of spice and very typical lush body spray sillage/longevity. Good for cold weather and night time!

ppl say 'it smells like gingerbread in here, i can eat you up', i however disagree. personally i find it a lil sour or citrusy idk. like a caramel citrusy biscuit -- think speculoos and lemon (only juice, no zest).

i like this but it's SUPER strong. so you only need a tiny little bit. i love the shower gel of this but the body spray is a bit much. when i walk in people ask me who smells like pure butter

If Let the good times roll and Sticky dates would have child together, it would be Yog Nog. I dont know, smells too strong for me. I'll go on with Super milk and Let the good times roll

Yeah it smells like chai, but it dissipates quite quickly off my skin and leaves a cardboard-like scent on my skin. Started out ok, ended as whatever. Would make a nice candle though.

one of the most underrated lush scents for sure. smells like a chai :) i get sooo excited when i get to whip this one out when the weather gets colder

sugary caramel, just a bit lighter than sticky dates. Youthful soft, bit citrus smelling after some time in a very relaxing and smooth way.

A sweeter, less complex version of Sticky Dates.

Weird gingerbread, no caramel.
