Yuzu and Cocoa

I initially had this in 2019, and purchased it recently again as part of the community relaunch. I literally groaned when I smelled it. This is unapologetically gourmand - I don't get chocolate orange as such, but more citrus zing and cocoa powder. For me, the citrus doesn't last long - more of a fresh note that warms down into the darker, richer base notes. Like others, I do get a real coconut note - but again, less synthetic Hawaiian Tropic and more toasted coconut. That 'toasty' note blends beautifully with the cocoa, like a dark chocolate cheesecake base. Strangely, a colleague said I smelled like cherry drop sweets when I wore this! I love it. I don't think it's a safe blind buy - far too sweet for that - but it's not sickly on me, and the warmth and the biscuity notes keep it grounded rather than flinging off into chocolatety, gloopy territory.

Yummy!!!!!! I'm obsessed with this scent. I have the EDP in the older black bottle as well as the EDP in the newer clear glass bottle (I haven't tried the body spray). It sort of smells like those pull apart orange chocolates but very natural, deep, and warm. The beginning is orange-y (well, yuzu-y) but it is not a fresh citrus scent at all. The yuzu is very intertwined with the chocolate. And then the lovely tonka just gives it more depth, more character, and more deliciousness in the drydown (I LOVE tonka). I also love how this perfume is quite strong and last much longer than most of my other Lush scents. Too bad this is discontinued. But if you are looking for an orange/chocolate type of scent with a little more character, you gotta get this perfume. You can still get some on eBay for not crazy prices, but who knows for how much longer!

I am in love with this scent. I was very hesitant to blind buy it as I already have Chocolate greedy and I was thinking that I dont really need another chocolate scent in my collection but this is different!!! Imagine going to Christmas decorated room where you firstly smell coconut xmas cookies, then you come to the tree and you smell orange decoration and while it dries down it sits to sweet pleasant smell. Its not cloying also edible so you can layer with another fragrances. Definitely gourmand. I would repurchase again. And I would wear it outside of xmas season as well.

Omg I JUST LOVEEE ITTTTT. At first you get this really dark chocolate smell, which I think is wonderful. And is it progresses through out the day it starts to smell like coconut. And I saw someone describe it as a bounty and I 100% agree. Really nice to layer as well. Like Lush’s Avocado Co wash, makes a really nice layering Update: the chocolate note does stay longer on clothes Update this is so bad I smell so cheap and it’s disgusting don’t buy it

This smells soooo yummy! To me, it smells exactly like a bounty chocolate bar. Like coconut and chocolate. I get a very slight hint of orange but it is mainly coconut and chocolate🥥🍫

Such a cozy fragrance it’s absolutely delicious just wish it was permanent was an instant love

Really interesting fragrance. Inoffensive, earthy, strange, very lightly sweetened, almost plasticy like artificial chapstick. Unique. The first blast is citrus and a HINT of dark chocolate, both of which quickly disappeared completely. No trace after 5 minutes. Dry down is potpourri, really old cherry chapstick that barely has a scent anymore, a slight wet wood smell like the inside of an outdoor shower and something waxy. If you like smelling like an earthy soft potpourri then this is for you. I personally like it. Not a love. I agree that it smells like a Christmas candle. I paid a good amount for this since it's discontinued...I'd probably return it if it were a store purchase. It's really not as sweet as others described and definitely not gourmand. Maybe a little for the first 5 minutes. I feel like the artificial wax smell might give me a headache or make me feel nauseous.

this smells like christmas oranges with a chocolate undertone. there is definitely a bounty smell to it it’s very warm and very gourmand. i just sprayed it but i can tell the longevity of this one is going to be crazy. there’s something about it i love on initial spray but also something i don’t and i can’t put my finger on what that is. its very much a christmas scent at the moment. i can see this one growing on me but i am a bit cocoa butter lover

Its Yuzu. Then its warm cocoa. Then its Yuzu again. Then cocoa. On and on it seems to oscillate until it settles into a citrus and tonka/chocolate scent.

Smells identical to english licorice allsorts.

Too much cacao vs yuzu/citrus, making it kind of gourmandy. I don’t dislike it but would not purchase a big bottle. Overall a tad too sweet and undefined, falls into baked goods category, like a thick chocolate yuzu cake. Do you want to eat it? Yes maybe a slice. Do you want to smell like it all day? Probably not. Needs a bit more sharpness and definition in my opinion. But I don’t hate it. Review is for the perfume, not body spray.

Barely any chocolate in this tbh. The opening reminds me of those chocolates with orange filling. After that dies down, there is a pineapple scent. Almost like pina colada. Don't buy this if you're expecting cocoa bomb, there's none here.

I have a problem with most Lush's perfumes, I feel like they all have a very similar opening, the same way that their stores smell powerfully the same; kind of strong, as if they used not alcohol for the base but some type of herbal water, making it not so wearable. I own a body spray and a perfume, and I was intrigued by this, but it is so bad. It has that initial opening smell, but then the yuzu does not really marry the cocoa - a very organic cocoa, not buttery or sweet. If you are looking for a gourmand, this is not it, I am not sure who would wear this openly but I do not see a target audience.

I don't like it. It was on sale so I gave it a go. It's SO LONG LASTING. Something is off here, it's not very a gourmand but not at all a citrus... It's a combination of the two that I dislike. It's strange. Maybe it's just not for me but I just sprayed it before bedtime and it was not a good idea.

This is not quite a chocolate orange but more like a tangy citrus marmalade with a super rich but bitter dark chocolate ganache, sitting on top of a buttery shortcrust pastry base. That but not so literal that it smalls stale!

Yuuuuuzu and Cocoooooooa--I love yuuuuuuuuu... Identical to the fragrance of the bubbleroon and body wash (of which I still have a tiny sample, to sniff). The liquid in this is a nice light orangey brown color, which indicates to me there is a fair amount of natural material in here. The smell is a melty, cocoa-buttery chocolate with a nice representation of yuzu, which I believe is reproduced by a combination of bergamot with some of that grapefruit funk to emulate the funky citrus smell of yuzu. The "yuzu" in Yuzu and Cocoa, to my nose, is not exactly yuzu, more orange, but fantastic nevertheless. I get a hint of coconut in the drydown. Big ups to LUSH for putting nearly THEIR ENTIRE FRAGRANCE LIBRARY online! Get it while it lasts! EDIT: Now having spent a few months with a few of these Lush bodysprays, the bloom is off the rose. The bodysprays are nifty-packed accessible versions of product fragrances, but it's not perfume. I've owned Let the Good Times Roll, Yuzu and Cocoa, and Tramp. They are fantastic versions of those cult-favorite smells, but on skin and clothing they perform as typical, synthetic-based scents; weakening and morphing into sickly disfigurements of themselves. A fragrance that breaks apart works fine for a bodywash that goes down the drain, but it's loathsome to be a walking cloud of it.

This was an impulsive purchase for me. I have tried it in a Lush store, which I should learn so far it is a bad idea. Their stores have such intense smell, you cannot actually imagine how this would smell outside. It is SO sweet and intense. I feel a bit nauseous, but I think this is only first impression. I will come back with detailed review, I hope I will start to love it, but so far I am really disappointed and totally overwhelmed by it. EDIT: So, I'm still overwhelmed by it a year after, but since I already own it, I had to use it in some way:) So, I use it rarely, on especially hype days and without ANY other scented product. And I use it like they do it in movies: spray it ONCE in the air and then walk through it. After two hours, it gets better. But the smell stays on clothes forever and also in the bathroom. Actually, the whole apartment. So, I have actually started to use it as home fragrance, which I quite like.

Yuzu and Cocoa, the body spray, by Lush, smells exactly like it's name says: yuzu and cocoa. Personally, I don't like acidic citrus scents. Lush has too many of them at this point. I know that the Supermilk scent made them really popular, but I wish they would also launch some chocolate, cocoa, coconut scents. At this point, the only body spray that fits that category, is Sticky Dates. I wish they would also bring the Coco Loco body spray back.

The yuzu smells more like orange than yuzu. The opening is a really realistic dark chocolate which kinds fades to the background of the yuzu.The Citrus outlasts the gourmandy chocolate notes. Kinda smells like an orange coconut rough. Super long lasting and projects very well.

creamy like cocoa butter but it settles down into a men's cologne type scent? in the sense that its relatively strong with the fruityness but has an INTENSE dark chocolate smell. lasts absolutely forever.

Original smelt incredible and was SO long lasting. The new one still has the gorgeous opening smell but only lasts for around an hour. Really disappointed as it was my all time favourite lush body spray.

I have this spray and it is just so yummy and good! It is exactly how you think it smells like but make it more versatile. I love it!

it litteraly reminds me of the scented Diddle paper that you’d scratch and sniff 🥺
