Feu Follet

Begins beautifully & hauntingly acrid, with some of the richest, rawest woodsmoke and leather I’ve encountered in natural perfumery. Upon inhaling further you can also immediately sense the pines lurking just below—as if before your eyes a searing hot iron was plunged deep into a log saturated with aromatic resins and tree saps. After fully roasting that log, only fragrant coals remain... This scent is their scent, still in the context of a crisp, Northern evergreen forest, fresh air blowing in the background... This could definitely be considered a difficult perfume as rather than being a typical leather or forest scent, the main event here is the smoke with the former as it’s accompaniments. It makes me think of a forester’s heavy leather gloves, smeared with pine from a long, cold day in snowy woods, set to dry next to a woodstove for the night—their aromas mixing and permeating throughout a log cabin as night passes by... There’s also a particular resemblance I receive to the scent of decaying leaves in the tail end of Fall—earthy, smoky and with an interesting, once thought inimitable balsamic tang. There’s also a moderate resemblance between some facets here and some found in Pomare’s Stolen Perfumes’ Piano Tuner 2025. It could also be considered a richer, smokier version of La Curie’s Incendo. The incense present here isn’t particularly forward but when focused on does lend a clean sanctity to the blend. The deep smokiness is derived mostly from gaiac, birch and pine tars, conjuring, to me, less of ‘barbecues’, though that connotation is certainly there, and more of the intimate, almost spiritual settings mentioned above. The resemblance of the pines here to those in Ghost Pine and Hemlock Shade can also easily be seen, including some of their characteristic misty, shadowy features. All in all, I find this to be nothing less than an entrancing, oddly tantalizing and delectable blend, that I prefer to don only in moments of solace and deep reflection. For lovers of leathers, forests and woodsmoke alike. Sillage moderate to strong, longevity superb. Lvnea truly exceeds all expectations in these regards given their natural parameters. Priced competitively in the niche market. Bravo, madames!!! Long live Lvnea!!!!!

Pine campfire That's what this fragrance captures. Wow. And I though I had smelled realistic campfire fragrances before! This captures the smell of not just the smoke, but the burning pine itself. This scent is transportative. A sniff takes me back to evenings spent camping and relaxing by a roaring fire. So good. Think of how clothing can smell after you spend time by a fire while sitting amongst pine and conifer needles... Smoke, resin, and wood. Amazingly realistic. Good longevity... And I guess projection too. You could spray this in a room with you gas fireplace and imagine it's wood burning. May be FB worthy

I love wearing this so much! It makes me feel strong and confident, and like I'm still wearing the shirt from sitting around a fire with friends! Wearing lots of this during pen and paper roleplaying sessions for additional adventure feel, but also a small amount in the office to carry me away to the forest when things get annoying.

Totally realistic burning pine. I was not sure if I could handle this scent based on the notes and reviews but I actually like it. Yes, it is very smoky but in a good way. Not a safe blind buy, not for the faint of heart.

Okay, yeah, it basically smells like a campfire. But it's more akin to the smell of one from far away, and it dries into something quite light and warm. Campfire scents can be very overpowering and this one manages to avoid it entirely.

Very smoky opening that transitions to a very pleasant campfire scent. May take a couple of wears to appreciate if you're not accustomed to this type of fragrance.

Years back, my friends and I went camping in Colorado, and we made a fire at night. Some of the pine trees had pine resin on them. If you've never smelt fresh Pine resin before, it is simply divine. The smell of pine resin mixed with a smoky campfire was so good that I started looking for a cologne with the same scent. I stumbled across Feu Follet and bought a tester of it since it was one of the few that I found with little to no sweet notes, as I don't like sweet smells. But I have to say that I am a bit disappointed in the smell, as it has a very strong smoky smell. I couldn't really smell any of the other notes besides a lot of smoke and a little bit of amber. It's a very strong acquired smell that most people probably won't like unless you're really into smoky smells. Perhaps this could be paired with a spray of something lighter to calm down the strong scent.

first you are walking through a dense forest of pine trees, it's summer, it just rained and it's getting warm again and the smell of the sap lingers in the air. you make your way to a clearing where you friends start stacking up small twigs and logs gathered from nearby felled trees. a fire gets going, the smokiness tangled with a slight piny resinous cloud gets into your hair, clothes & nearly onto your skin. dries down to a faint resinous note, with a hint of smoke. my only issue with this is that the top notes are so striking vibrant and effusive it kinda makes it hard to smell anything after for me, that smokiness i was after is shy and merely a whisper. beautiful in concept but doesn't feel super balanced to me.

Smells like sipping a speyside scotch while nibbling on a charcuterie board. I don’t mind it but my boyfriend made me wash it off 😂

"Her perfume smells like / Burning leaves / Every day / Is Halloween" - Black No. 1 (Little Miss Scare-All) by Type O Negative I bought this at a metaphysical shop, mostly because it was the only fragrance they had that didn't disappear a minute after I put it on. The shop smelled of strong and lovely incense, which definitely affected my judgement. Once I got it home and used it -- yes, this has fantastic longevity. Yes, it smells like burning leaves and cold air. But once it settles, all I get is a 'liquid smoke' smell, like the food additive. One note, artificial and sharp and constant and screeching. I've tried using it to smoke up some too sweet woody fragrances but when using this, There is Nothing Else, There is Only Smoke. It's 100% the perfume worn by Little Miss Scare-All in the Type O Negative song and I...just can't. If that's you, go for it but I'm not her. Please no, I can never be her. Also, the container/atomiser sucks. It leaks and I ended up breaking the cap to keep it from sticking.

Just the thing for those moments when you wish to smell like a burning log (in the best and most literal way)
