Nuit Désert

I received Nuit Desert as a gift from my sister this past Christmas. I love the impudence of this scent: It's an all-out smoky wood perfume, and it doesn't apologize for that. There's an earthy blast of smoke in the opening, then it settles into a warm, savory, incensy oud. It keeps fairly close to the skin, which I suppose is a good thing. Otherwise, people around you might be sniffing the air, wondering where the fire is.

Reminds me of the brand new sauna at my gym. Warm, dry, woody all in the best way! All the notes are present together in my opinion.

This is an unabashedly deep, smoky woods fragrance. A less audacious version of this scent would be sweetened with benzoin or vanilla, but there's nothing here to ingratiate it to more demure tastes. It's a pitch-black evergreen forest with a bonfire burning somewhere in the distance. About what goes on around that fire it's best not to speculate.

absolutely not the kind of scent I usually go for, but I couldn't be happier with it. I impulse-bought this a couple of months ago when I saw that it was being discontinued as I remembered chelsea wolfe once saying that she loved it... I think "warm dark" were the words she used... I was also reading blood meridian at the time and the idea of owning a perfume that could transport me to a vast landscape so affecting yet deeply alien to me really got me. nuit desert is savoury, smoky, woodsy, and dry. it makes me feel as though I'm sitting too close to a campfire on a vast, dark summer night. such a nostalgic scent, but still transportive. I can't wait to wear it on my walks throughout these winter months
