Silent Opus

One of the best scent I've ever had. Silent Opus is a dark, elegant and introspective fragrance. It feels quiet on the surface, but there is a lot of depth underneath - warm, shadowy, slightly smoky and melancholic. It is not a loud compliment getter but rather a scent with atmosphere and character. I would describe it as refined, brooding and contemplative. It has that 'silent confidence' feeling - serious, mature and a little mysterious. Perfect for colder weather, evening wear, or moments when you want something darker and more personal.

Complex and resinous, I have a small decant and tried it in two conditions so far: in the heat outside and in the comfort of my air-conditioned room. In the heat, resins beautifully bloom and the perfume opens its sweeter, richer, oriental side. I do not detect much greenery. In colder circumstances, it has a nice green touch to it (wether it bay or oregano, I could not detect so far), and it makes it stand out more from similar warm-resinous scents. Overall, nice. I can't say I found it groundbreaking, but it's a decent, beautifully done scent that works well in its genre. Also, the name associates with something cold and even austere for me, and it is not cold at all.

Wood smoke and sweet-sour incense. Sits between Lutens and Pineward vibes, a repeating style for this brand. Big dose of something vegetal and vibrant, possibly the oregano note at work.
