The correct notes: Top notes - Bergamot and lemon. Heart notes - Green tea, nutmeg, heliotrope, thyme, fern, ylang ylang and rose, Base notes - Spices, white musk, cedar, amber, woods and vanilla. Received a sample of this today. The scent has just been released. Utterly gorgeous perfume. And the bottle is lovely as well. It opens like a cup of sweetened spicy green tea with milk. Develops into a latte like smell, I think it's all the woody notes that come together and create a kind of nutty almost coffee like feeling. The milkyness in this is on the sweet side, but it never becomes too sweet because of the green aromatic nuances from thyme and fern. In the drydown Ananda Tchaï smells like a woody au lait. It's very milky, soft, warm and sweet - but again there is something that keeps the scent from being too sweet. It's a kind of clean almost soapy tinge that comes and goes in soft, barely there, waves. I believe it might be the combination of white musk and ylang ylang. This is a very well balanced scent. It's a mature and sophisticated take on gourmand. The house of Micallef calls this a spicy citrus scent - but I feel like it is closer to a spicy green woody gourmand to be honest. It is a fabulous creation. Sillage is quite strong right away but dries down to a strong medium. Longevity is nice, I get over 7 hours out of this.

Tea is the most common warm drink in my middle eastern country.not green tea, but black tea which we call it chaie here. almost everyday I drink a cup of warm black tea sweetened by something we call "Nabat" which looks like golden crystals and is sweeter than sugar. I usually add a few drops of lime and some spices to my tea too. Smelling Ananda Chai is just like sitting on my favorite coach, enjoying the amazing scent of my tea while drinking it and feeling safe and comfortable. I enjoy it's deep honey-like sweetness which doesn't feel cloying thanks to the freshness of citrus notes.and there's the right amount of spices in it. even before checking the notes list I could tell there's ylang ylang and amber in this perfume and the combination of these two notes gives Ananda Chai a golden vibe. charming, comforting, precious and sophisticated.I can detect a hint of something powdery in it too. Something in Ananda Chai reminds me of some classics like Cabotine Gres.ofcourse this one is less floral but I feel they share a DNA of ambery sweetness blended with green, spicy notes.it also has some similarities with it's sister, Ananda Black but I prefer Chai as it's more rounded and has some freshness Longevity and sillage are both very good. right now I have a sample of it but I'd be very happy if I had a full bottle

Ohhhh...it is an underrated beauty in the market!!! For me the niche love started with M.Micallef Pure EXtreme, this was the first parfume what I tried in niche style. It was one year ago...Then I bought at lest 60 niche parfume but I did'nt get M.Micallef. But today I get a little sample - this was Ananda Tchai- and this is love at first sniff- I wanted immediately a whole big bottle! There are everything in it, what I'have ever searching for in a parfume...Sweet,spicey, a little citrusy- and last long time with strong sillage. Beautifula feminine parfum. Better than my Amouages, my Marlys, My Malles, my Initios, my Royal Crowns, my Kurkdjians...It it perfect for me- this is the scent I'have ever wanted!!! This is an absolute masterpiece of a fragrance. The tea note is made just right with spices and beautiful floral notes surrounding it. It’s intense yet fresh and anything but cloying. I bought this on the second hand market out of curiosity and it’s one of the best purchases I have made lately. It holds onto my skin until the next day without becoming overwhelming or suffocating. It’s beautiful and elegant. A perfect fragrance for the any weather and definitely more of an evening scent.

I received a sample of this fragrance a few days ago and I have to say that I love it. As a man, I have no probklem wearing this wonderful perfume. I would love to smell it on a woman, but I think it smells great on me as well. It lasts and projects and has excellent sillage.

Decently enjoyable. However, now that my nose is running full force, the lemongrass in the opening isn't something I really want to smell like. I'm selling my almost full bottle that I purchased 5 years ago...

Notes read green tea. I'd say it's more like black one. Strong, dense and sweetened with honey, thin slice of lemon added. Autumn is a perfect season for this beauty. 🍂🍁🧡

Like the scent. Hate the new website design.

I've been working my way through a Micallef sampler pack with increasing frustration (the house style is all a bit classically-French and old-fashioned in a sort of 70s-80s way rather than older vintage, and many of the feminines are far far far too sweet for me, while the masculines are too butch...) but this one is an absolute winner. I wasn't expecting much of this. Was ready to be disappointed because a/ the Micallef house style, b/ tea scents never work or last, c/ many things I've tried called chai or tchai or cha or what have you have had no resemblance to tea at all. But this ended up as a surprisingly strong like. It shares a basic chassis of warm amber and woods with Ananda Dolce, which was a total scrubber on me, but Tchai is an altogether more agreeable experience because it replaces Dolce's horrendously overbearing peach (and much nicer almond & almond blossom) with a bunch of well-defined and detailed spices and a really surprisingly tenacious and realistic green tea. Now what you really want with those spices is a good black tea scent IMHO, but black tea seems to be almost impossible for perfumers to pull off - so this is a green tea, but one which doesn't ring metallic, even though there are some citric overtones in there as well. The overall impression is just lush and opulent and soothing, without being clammy-cloying or smothering (like Ananda Dolce is on me.) And the tea really hangs on, quite exceptionally from my experience, with real integrity and somehow managing to mediate completely successfully between the cooler citrus and warmer spice notes. Maybe the fern and ylang ylang also help to knit it together, though they're much more discreet. Quite femme, but could be unisex for someone seeking a very gentle and sweet take on oriental spice. Sillage medium, longevity on the stronger side of medium.

The start is delightful ! Green tea mixed with amber and refreshed by a thyme edge. Then it starts to sweeten itself and reveals vanillic, heliotropy tones. You can sense the amber from start to finish. Lovely. Has 0 in common with the classic Ananda. This is a scent of its own.

I've tried this before and loved it. I still like it, it's very honeyed, sweet, like a nice sugary chai tea. Long lasting winter warmer. ** I have 15 micallef original samples - get in touch to swap - uk **

what a zing of colours in the opening! bright yellow citrus, green tea and spice...some ylang shows too sadly the drydown is not great, falls very flat and somethings is off with it (maybe the nutmeg...)

The word tchaï (chai/çay/shay/...) means tea in many different languages and is used for different kinds of teas, depending on the culture. I still expected this to smell similar to Indian spice tea (masala chai), partly because this is what is usually sold as "tchai tea" in western countries and partly because of the listed spice notes. But to me, this smells like a cup of warm green tea with lemon and lots of honey, and also quite soapy and powdery. Especially in the drydown it reminds me of a honey scented bar soap with just a hint of tea and citrus. It smells much more perfumey than I thought it would, rather floral and old-fashioned, there is also a dusty pink rose in this that I can't get past. On the plus side the honey note, which is not listed, but definitely extremely noticeable to my nose, is done nicely - clean and creamy, not sticky sweet or too animalic. I don't dislike this, but I don't really like it either, simply because I'm not a huge fan of soapy florals. It's really disappointing that I don't get much spice from this at all, but jugded on its own merits the scent is nice enough. Just not my thing. I'm actually a bit jealous of those who perceive this as a true chai scent, sometimes it's annoying how the sense of smell works so differently for everyone.

I also got familiar with this Maison by ordering their discovering kit, and - yes, I have to agree with the previous comments that it's waaay too sweet! If someone wore any of them, I would ask "where are you from?". As the core DNA of this house is something a bit out of this space and time - too sweet, too vintage, too loud, too much of too much. But again - a very specific DNA, as if you are into those, you can stick to this house completely. Now being fan of strong, weird perfumes, feeling deeply attracted to Middle East scents, I feel a bit lost and disoriented after discovering the kit. Feel like wearing l'Air du Temps for the next month... Okay, Enough about that! Ananda Tchai is a true exception. Honestly, I am also not a big fan of green tea. Being even more honest, I truly hate green tea as a drink and I find it smells like sweaty armpits. But when I tried this sample all my prejudices collapsed and I truly enjoy this composition. Equally fresh, fruity, spicy and sweet. Never felt something like this before. To be even more honest - I even ordered full size (100ml) bottle. But one thing for sure is - I would never recommend to blind buy from this house if you don't have experience with these!

Completely agree with trabuquera's sentiments about the house below - I too have been testing their discovery kit and have the same feeling about the perfumes I have tried previously. This one, however, is a breath of fresh air! Apricots (not listed but I'm sure they're there!,) florals, tons of powder, then background hints of rose incense sticks. Tchai, even without actually bearing any noticeable resemblance to Tchai tea, is so much better than the original Ananda or the Dolce version! It smells nothing like the original Ananda, but the Ananda Dolce DNA is present, so I go careful with the sprays to avoid this one becoming cloying. He wasn't impressed with it though, said it just smells like baby powder, but I've enjoyed wearing my sample.

Chai tea, but made with delicate green tea, almost bordering on the floral side, like jasmine green tea. Delicious and spicy and refreshing even in the heat. There is also something sweet and softly fruity, like peach skin, mingling with the natural sweetness of the green tea. Overall smells edible and warm like sunshine without being cloying or dessert-like. Ananda Tchai is unexpectedly strong; one spray on a warm day is perfection.

Ten zapach jest tak bogaty jak biznatyjskie pałace. Mocny i dla koneserek. Nie wyobrażam sobie aby koleżanka z biura siedziała obok wyperfumowana nimi, to zapach raczej do Orient Expressu.
