Ananda

Ananda can be summed up in 3 words - Elegant, feminine, sophisticated. 🤍 It is such a beautiful, delicate, floral fragrance that you’re bound to fall in love with it right from the first spritz. It opens with delicate floral notes with a hint of pear and settles into a cosy, powdery musky warmth. Truly very feminine. If you’re fond of the “clean girl” aesthetic, then this is the fragrance for you. Inoffensive and work appropriate too. The only downside is the modest sillage and longevity (on me it lasts for about 5 hours on skin and around 7 hours on clothes) but then that actually is in tune with the elegant personality of the perfume. And just how gorgeous is the bottle 😍😍😍!

Ananda (means bliss/joy) is so delicate and feminine. The prominent notes (pear, mimosa, plum, jasmine) feel chilled, deliberately subdued and understated... muted, if you will. Ananda presents to me as such a cool fragrance, almost as if the notes were poured over ice before they reached my skin. I've often wondered if they were left near an open window on a clean, clear snowy morning, just waiting for me to discover them. To be near me while I'm wearing Ananda means you will be hugged. It's a feeling to be shared. The lovely Ananda promises a peaceful, joy filled day...and it delivers.

I think this is the most beautiful Micallef parfume. It smells so womanly, smooth, yet characteristic. Oohh I love this kind of sour fresh fruit accord laying on the creamy background. Heaven should smell like this. Beautiful fruit trees floating on clouds and little blond angels flying and smelling like vanilla. Although I have to state that this is not an innocent, but a grown up scent. But in a good way, nothing like old ladish. Very stylish and inspiring, I can imagine wearing it on a wedding day. Sillage is moderate Longivity is good

What can I say... I love this. I love the artistry behind M.Micallef fragrances. This really took me by surprise when I first smelt it. It evoked a nostalgic feeling in me and that’s because it has some similar notes to Ysl Paris which my late Grandmother wore. I’m personally not a fan of Ysl Paris, I find it dated, but this is like a modern, clean version with the best parts of that fragrance taken and blended to perfection. A classy floral, fresh and juicy fragrance.

I think its one the most sensual ,intimate and romantic perfume i tried so far.The benefits is its all natural ...so its not living this sour smell on the skin like almost all synthetic perfumes do.(on my skin that absorbs all the smells).I almost can't smell it on me.But people around me doing compliments.They saying its hard to describe but its like a gentle kiss.Also i love the pear note!Very unusual .

Delicate, feminine, light florals. Very ladylike but not dated. I imagine a quintessentially British young lady getting ready for a first date. This smell like you’ve had a milk bath and then put on expensive lotion. The date is a picnic in a luscious meadow wearing a cute day dress and sun hat. Very comforting, classy but still playful. Easy to wear and inoffensive.

This perfume is wonderful!! That's all I have to say, it's beautiful, it vaguely reminds me of Champs (which I adore), but this one has its own personality and it's also beautiful. Can anyone say if there's already an Arabic perfume that has been inspired by this Ananda by M. Micaleff, or by Champs Élysées by Guerlain?

Perfect powdery mimosa. I've tested it first at the end of the summer and it was too sweet for me. I tried it again on winter time and it was love from the first sniff. It keeping some sweetness, but on winter it feels comfy and balanced, this fragrance brings me happy mood and happyness, like sunshine in the morning

Ananda exudes peace, a sense of tranquility, a fresh out of the shower feeling. I get whiffs of Ananda throughout the day, and I just feel "clean". This mimosa is extraordinary, with a sweet hint of vanilla enhancing the rest of the notes. The longevity is exceptional.

This would be perfect for a summer wedding in the garden. Beautiful, gentle. The pear in the opening is the most realistic pear I have smelled in a perfume ever. Drydown are gentle flowers. Downside - it is not very strong and does not last that long.

I do not understand the bad reviews of this perfume, for me it is the best perfume ever smelled, not heavy, no alcohol or sharp. then walk through a beautiful flower garden, lovely.. even if I have a severe migraine attack I can wear this perfume ❤️

This is truly a great summer scent. Very sweet, so you have to really like sweet perfumes. I swear I smell neroli but its not in the notes. Very clean smelling.. almost like a shampoo scent in a way.

a pleasant clean day scent, like really amazing laundry freshener, I would buy a bottle if it were priced about £20 max, certainly not worth a high price over £25 max.

Smells like an Olay body wash in the best way possible. If you wanna smell like you just got right out of the shower this is the perfect scent and I love it ❤️

Bridgerton summer in a bottle! The most beautiful mimosa I have ever tried !

Smooth, mild, soft, slightly characterless, yet very classy, upscale hand-lotion-y sort of thing. Fluffy white clouds of girliness with no sharp corners whatsoever. Absolutely not my area, but miles better than I expected looking at the pyramid - as I'm not a fan of big fruit salads and have a particular phobia about pear. Yet somehow, as often happens with Micallef, this has been mixed with a careful enough hand to not get overwhelmingly sweet, or to smell nauseatingly fake-fruit-bubblegummy. Instead it all just merges into a light, gentle, clean-yet-feminine aura that's just all-around pleasant. All the listed notes make sense, but it's so carefully blended together that to be honest I couldn't sense any of them or pick them out specifically ... which might be the height of perfumer's sophistication, or a bit of a lost opportunity, depending on your tastes. (For instance: if like me you love realistic white flowers, there are other options which can get you far, far closer to nature than this.) Infinitely better than its peach-nightmare flanker Ananda Dolce, but I was more attracted to the spicier, warmer inflection given by the tea and spice version Ananda Tchai. This one is I guess the original, but somehow the most anonymous of all. However, for the money, you might want a bit more than pleasant and inoffensive ... and I kept getting distracted by trying to remember the exact sort of hand-cream it was reminding me of (Dove? some sort of Nivea?) - and those are pretty cheap associations to get evoked by a high-priced niche perfume. Didn't seem to evolve or change on me much, either. Longevity and sillage both pretty middle-of-the-road, not poor, but no surprises. In short: never not nice, but never very exciting either.

I'm amazed I'm the first one to write a review, because I think this perfume is quite inspirational really. It is floral, but a sweet one! The plums and blackcurrants on the background make it quite syrupy, still the florals make it easier to handle. It is quite loud and I predict the staying power will be great (I only have sprayed it an hour ago on a piece of paper, but it is still very much there). Now this also reminds me a bit of Lollia's Wish, they both have this quite unique smell. Though the difference is, that Wish could become quite cloying and overly sweet, it's more gourmand. Ananda has much more 'spring' in it, that's why I like it more than Wish. I really recommend trying this one if you like something sweet and uplifting! PS: The bottle looks totally different now by the way, I suppose it's modernised. It is a half circle with see through glass with litte strass-stones located on the cap and a circle on the bottle itself: it's just like the bottle of rose aoud only ananda's fluid and stones are white while rose aoud is pink. Really looks pretty...

Yet another like after initial dislike. How parfums need proper weather to shine! Today, 31°C, and Ananda is dreamy. Like stated here, fruity - mainly plums and pears, juicy and charming, sweet but perfectly balanced, yellow floral with gorgeous sunny mimosa dominating, powdery with violets, floral in heart, with clean and creamy musky finish. Today, the similarity to Champs Elysees shows but Ananda is better. It is an intense scent, it will be noticed. But to shower and then dress in Ananda and white cotton will make you feel like a princess. You rule, others must bow.

Opens very lush and sultry with flower and fruit notes. Jasmine is noticeable from the start. Violet and musk notes show up soon and add a mysterious aroma to the fruity floral mix. The mimosa is also clearly there, and I also smell hints of pear. The drydown is a musky vanilla with fruit notes and jasmine & ylang. Sillage and longevity are moderate. Very feminine smell. I don't get any rose out of this, just white flowers and a vanilla musky fruit drydown. I like this scent, very fresh and sultry at the same time. It has a bit of a creamy feel to it. Lovely.

This was another blind buy. It's a nice, pleasant, soft, floral, fruity every day appropriate fragrance. Not a sickly sweet fruity floral in any way. The opening is VERY pear forward. Then it dries down into a fairly non descript, non-gourmand vanilla. Not sure I would have bought it had I sampled it first. But I'll keep in in my collection for the time being. My only gripe... my daughter and her friend cannot stop laughing about the bottle top. If you know, you know. Lol.

Incredibly soapy, soft floral scent. It smells like a white soap or cream. It disturbs me to smell like that, like a good little girl.. On my skin it's basically a soapy musk mixed with mimose and a hint of lemon. I can imagine it suits a blonde schoolgirl that wears no make-up and irons her t-shirts. Ananda is so not me that it's not even funny. It's not a bad scent, it's clean, fresh laundry kind of thing a bit too soapy for June.

This totally remind me of Pantene dry shampoo, especially at first spritz. As funny as it sounds I actually received a compliment about the dry shampoo and someone asked what perfume was it, cause it smelled familiar, so I wonder if she knew how Ananda smells. I like it and I did buy a full bottle, it’s very clean and I think great vacation fragrance in hot weather.

I mostly got pear and mimosa. It is a pretty fragrance that smells like shampoo. It gives me Burberry Weekend for her vibes but this is way more palatable where Burberry smelled synthetic and less feminine. I wish the pretty opening, where the pear is the strongest, lasted longer. Otherwise, it’s nothing ground-breaking and not worth the Micellaf price tag.

On paper or a small spray in the wrist, it does smell like body wash. I over-sprayed today and the opening and mid smelled really nice. The flower notes came out and I was really happy with it. Then the dry down was pretty much just powder and musk. Nice but not worth the price for me. Maybe if it was very discounted.

It is a mimosa fragrance! I can smell mimosa & flowers with a small touch of fruits and with a base of white musk. Perfect for spring. You need to like powdery scent. Nice, delicate and feminine to my opinion. Inoffensive. 7/10

I like it but I don't love it. It is very feminine to my thinking. It has very weak longevity on me. If you are looking for something very subtle that won't overwhelm other people then this would be suitable.

very similar to Liz Clairborne Bora Bora Exotic. Only thing is that would come at the fraction of the price of this :) Micallef fan by the way, it's just this one not full bottle worthy being so generic.

Nice, airy easy going pleasant scent. I cant imagine anyone who would hate this, but it's not ground breaking either. It's a very easy scent to wear wherever and a really good one for offices as i cant imagine this one ever offending anyone. It has a lot of mimosa.. which i guess is obvious from the note breakdown above but it was my first fragrance with that note at the time. Not my favourite floral as it often comes across baby powder-y but nothing that i hate either. Its not a super fruity fragrance either, even though you'd think that looking at the notes. The fruits just come across blended as a nice sweetness accent to the yellow florals. Perfect for spring or summer. It's one that i dont mind, but not one i'd write home about or repurchase. I also hate the bottle, i find the crystals look very DIY and the cap is like this strange, pointy top thing. It has good weight to it though.

Ordered some of the perfumes the house had on offer, got this as a sample. Pretty scent and it felt very familiar when sprayed. Not long lasting on me, max 1 hour before skin scent, had to register on here as, was really surprised as to what this smells like to me. If anyone owns Nivea Black and White "Invisible quick dry" Original. Ananda is this, a bit sharper brighter in smell, but on clothes the same. Others may not agree but if you own this, try the test, let me know if I am going a bit loopy. For the price of this perfume, I'm sure the sample costs as much a buying the Nivea Black and White.

Reading some reviews I am thinking if I have something wrong with my nose :) I got a sample to test. I like the opening of this perfume, it is fresh and citrusy. But the dry-out reminded me very much of some cheap fragrances I used when I was a student. Definitely not the perfume I would use.

I started off with the nectar version. They are much the same, pear, slight plum, mimosa, musk. But this has much less of the fruity and sweet side and thus I don’t like it as this overdose of mimosa is just too much for me. I find the nectar version to be much better balanced.

It's ok. Smells clean and pleasant. It's a little too basic for me, but just because I'm not a fan of florals. It's delicate and feminine. Jasmine always repels me in perfumes, otherwise it's lovely. A romantic clean girl aesthetic.

smells super soapy. would love this if there's no violet note. I find this very summery. Not so good projection but i can wear this with any "heavier" fragrance as this will lighten up the scent (IDK if that makes sense lol)

Smells good but reminds me of a shampoo or a person who just came out of the shower. Nice, but not what I want a perfume to be. Gives me strong vibes of J’Adore.

When I first met Micaleff, I could not even read the name on the bottle - Picaleff or so. I never got to be a friend with this strange company. They sell lousy juices for expensive IMO. For what you pay are maybe the bottles. Ananda - well, if you love Champs Elysees, you will appreciate this as well, but in this case I prefer Guerlain, which is established, old perfume house with beautiful name giving, lot of masterpieces and beautiful bottles.

To be fair, I did not do a full wearing of this sample. I knew within twenty minutes this was going to be a scrubber. I usually like mimosa, but this is the most synthetic representation of that flower that I’ve ever met. Fabric softener? Agreed. It’s saccharin sweet with a little powder.... and a big pass from me.

It has no similarity with Champs Elysees from Guerlain. I can smell tuberose in it and after every 10 minutes changes Ananda in unexpected directions being worser and worser. I do not like fragrances, which changes character so much. For me a sign for cheap stuff, even if this is horrible expensive.

With all respect to the Micallef house... I think this is what a cheaper J'Adore would smell like if it was made by Avon. Perhaps it is just my own chemistry, but really, this isn't even close to what I thought it should be.

This is one of those ultra feminine, super clean, floral fruity scents whose key characteristics are pretty, inoffensive and daily. The perfume equivalent of elevator music. Nice and easily forgotten. **(***)

Not a fan of violet and mimosa.. I can not say I dislike it, but it is so synthetic, reminds me of hairspray.

Ananda begins with the soft perfumed fruit scent of a babysitter's hair. It is an inoffensive though synthetic impression of pear and it is soft, very delicate, and feminine. It is sugary sweet, powdery and tart with citrus and currant. There is nothing remotely visceral about it as with other pears that have a pulpy, over-ripe pungency to them. This is a young innocent woman wearing pear in a gently lit children's room. The rose makes this fragrance slightly green, but as the fragrance wears on, the vanilla musk/mimosa in the base takes a gentle powdery control over the tart green notes, and only the synthetic silhouette of the pear lingers. Despite the sweetness, the soft delicacy of the dry down ensures that this fragrance never becomes cloying, if applied with reasonable discrimination. Though it eventually turns into quite an easy and soothing skin scent, there is nothing overtly memorable in the conclusion to Ananda. The babysitter is warm, pleasant, and comforting, but in a few years you will forget her name, her face, and even the scent of her hair.

My sample vial is labeled Micallef Black Ananda, but I believe that the perfume inside is Ananda, looking at the notes and people's reactions to it. This composition is indeed very fruity--reminiscent of Lancôme Trésor or something from the 1980s created by Sophia Grojsman. Some combination of peach, plum, and pear, some vanilla, and then a lot of flowers. So here we have another example of Micallef taking a designer-type scent and rebranding it as haute niche. I'm not saying that this is plagiarism, but it's definitely an old idea. Perhaps this would be exciting to people who never experienced the great designer perfumes of the twentieth century, but I have old bottles of Trésor and Estée Lauder Tuscany per Donna, so for me this is highly redundant. It's also not as good...

I wasn't expecting to find this fragrance to be to my liking! This is a really pretty white floral fragrance. This lasts and lasts, a beautiful blend. I am planning on buying this at my first opportunity. If you are into pretty, fruity, white florals, you wont be disappointed. Concept-wise, think Champs Elysees meets J'Adore EDP (the top notes) but just the right amount of everything. Clean, fruity, floral, so easy to wear. M Micallef offer sample packs through their website which is another great way to try their fragrances. Edit: I can see how it is comparable to EDT of Champs Elysees but I prefer Ananda far more and will hold out for Ananda. I feel CE is a bit more animalic in it's base.

Very hyper realistic pear scent on me. Yes inoffensive, yes it’s not groundbreaking. But still somehow better than your average designer blah. We don’t always need to challenge people with our fragrance. Sometimes you just want to smell nice. This is that spring day when it hits 22 degrees (Celsius) and you don’t need to put your jacket on in the shade anymore. The sun is shining but it’s still just a little bit crisp, exactly like the ripeness of this pear. All the hopes of the coming summer lay before you and you can imagine long afternoons with your friends relaxing while the sun doesn’t set til 10pm. Uncomplicated but lovely. That’s all you really need at times

Ananda was a monk, friend of Sidharta Gautama. Ananda`s grail was full of true Joy for him-Self and for others to share. Always seeking the Truth and most of all living the truth on his every living second. This scent named by Him is true Joy as Ananda was, yes this is innocent also, but isn`t there innocence in every person inside of them if we look deep enough, yes it is, like lightfull energy. I think Micallef have done really wonderfull work with Ananda *Smiles* and "captured" the spirit of Ananda to this bottle representing enlightenment. No one could have done better.

When I first tested this I thought I was smelling laundry detergent; now, I realize, more specifically, this is fabric softener. A heavily scented one, like Suavitel, maybe the one in the yellow bottle. It's a nice smell (personally, I love fabric softener) and I can't imagine a less offensive scent for work than fabric softener. Still, I wouldn't drop a bunch of coin on this, because Suavitel is two dollars at the grocery.

A perfume that lists my favourite flower, mimosa, in two layers of notes? I had to try it! The pear adds a nice fresh and fruity touch to what would otherwise be dusty and dated. Another win from Micallef after my first love, Pure Extreme. Edit: I’m not sure how my decant ended up going bad in a number of days? I know pear is a delicate accord in perfumery. But now it smells peppery and odd like a totally different perfume.

I do love the bottle. Like any frag from the brand, it looks amazing. For the smell? It's also good. For those who like inoffensive scent, this perfume is good for you. Smells like an expensive lotion. Powdery and sweet, very feminine. As much as I want to make it as my signature scent, it's expensive and hard to find where I live. But yes, I recommend this for women who likes that fresh out of the bath scent.

Very average scent, underwhelming in fact. You could say it's restrained and understated, but that's the very opposite of what I look for in a perfume. As for what other reviewers have referenced, I definitely agree that it smells like if Champs Elysees released a fabric conditioner. I get a generic mix of florals but not fruits. It is sweet and inoffensive and pretty but frankly pretty boring.
