Aoud

Love at first smell. I can only say that about a couple of fragrances, but this one for me was a showstopper. This sensual oud begins enveloped in fragrant rose sweetened with honey. Cinnamon, clove, and saffron captivate in their warm embrace. Sandalwood provides a sense of light and airiness to this luscious fragrance while patchouli anchors the scent in its depth. One of, if not the best, oud I've ever sampled. As for longevity it's not the greatest, however, the scent more than makes up for it. Update: I think the reason this one hits differently than a lot of Rose/Oud fragrances for most people is because of its insane airiness. I don’t believe there’s much real oud here. I’ve come to the conclusion that a rather incredible illusion of an airy oud is produced here through a combo of: Sandalwood/Sandalwood synthetics, Cashmeran, Patchouli Coeur or similar airy synthetic (Clearwood, etc.). This fragrance is one of the airiest, least dense Ouds on the market, stripped of any apparent phenolic cues. If real oud were used at this concentration, the scent should last considerably longer and oud should remain evident in the dry down. I think it’s much more approachable for the average person than many of the more dense traditional Middle Eastern frags on the market. Still a winner IMO!

Yes it is another Rose Oud but a very nice one. Actually it is more of a slightly spicy rose with the Oud hovering in the background. The Oud used is of a lighter variety so it doesn't overwhelm the overall juice. The perfume contains other exotic Oriental notes such as sandalwood, cinnamon, saffron, nutmeg, honey, and patchouli. Complex, beautifully blended and intriguing, this is not as good as the Micallef Oud blend masterpiece 'Emir" but is more of a warm, comforting scent that is unisex with moderate to strong projection, sillage and longevity. Not particularly innovative but absolutely radiant and refined. Enjoy!

I have decided that Aoud is my favourite rose/oud fragrance. It leans slightly more oudy than rosy and there is a lovely spicy, savoury roundness that elevates it above the crowd. There's a funky, ripe sweetness that emerges deep in the dry down that toes a very delicate line between golden brown dates and sweaty ass. I guess that's the honey and sandalwood. The fragrance overall is quite strong and lasts a good while.

Intoxicating--a masterpiece of an oud fragrance. I'm even willing to forgive it for disappearing after a few short hours. The honey is boozey, the rose is soft, the spices are sharp, and the oud--lord, the oud.

A nice oudy fragrance with moderate sweet notes. The oud quality is a matter of argument...

i love it-if you can afford it buy it-you won't be sorry.

Aoud M. Micallef is a deep, warm and beautiful woody-spicy fragrance for men, floral from the vivid rose with a mild sweetness, a luxurious fragrance. Well, I'm not an oud guy but this juice is very well blended and the oud does not hurt my nose like hospital-medicine thing neither smells cheap as melted plastic. It's one of the best oud fragrances along with some Bond No9 out there for me. I can feel every single note as stated. The oud is an inoffensive note, beautiful, rich and deep. Whoever want to choke himself in strong and overpowering aoud, stay away from this juice. It opens smoothly with a beautiful aoud note followed by a light sweetness and a wonderful vivid rose. The rose is not only on the top notes; you can clearly feel it for the first hours. A nice mild sweet blend of cinnamon, nutmeg and saffron beautify the whole scent. I also can detect a pinch of leather and a clear black currant note but none of them is listed. After some time I can feel the honey and the patchouli adding to the blend luxuriant essence. The sandalwood is weak but still detectable. The longevity is not a serious problem for such a luxurious and quality juice. I do not get so poor performance as the reviews beneath, on my skin lasts about 4-5 hours well. After about 2-2.5 hours, the perfume settles down and it's close to skin. It does NOT disappear. Only the projection decreases. In that period time, before fading out, the projection is heavy and with two sprays can fill a whole room. Therefore, sort-lived projection is the real problem. I highly recommend it for winter and fall as a classy night perfume or if you have cool spring days, it will work nice. Generally, I love this juice, one of the best aoud fragrances I've smelt, but is far too expensive for its performance. If it had a monstrous performance as Bonds and Amouages, I'd buy it again.. A fragrance for collectors or for wealthy perfume lovers... Edit I must reconsider my opinion.. this is a masterpiece, I love it! Yesterday I bought my second bottle!

I blind bought this on my birthday. This is what I expected Honey Aoud to smell like, but I have only a little experience with that fragrance, and from what I remember it isn't as smooth as this fragrance. I picked a bottle up from a reputable seller for $77, and it's taken me some time to get this fragrance. It smells incredible, especially for being sub $100. Nothing synthetic to my amateur nose, and the notes are balanced to the point where one note doesn't mess up the fragrance (at least for me). Fresh rose at the top, woody and spicy in the mid, and the dry down is honey-drenched patchouli with some woodiness and spiciness. On my skin, I get about 8-10 hours with 1-1 1/2 hours of moderate projection. This is very refined and polished. Need at least a stiff collar (oxfords, button-ups, etc.) or a blazer to rock it where it doesn't seem out of place. but anyone can wear anything whenever they choose to. I don't have too much experience with oud, but with the few ouds that I've tried, this is one of the ones with less of the barnyard, fecal, or medicinal smell. Whatever type of oud or synthetic oud used here is woodier than anything else, but I do love the scent. If you can find it for sub $100 and like anything I mentioned here, I'd say sample it at least

Aoud (Homme) is a musty sweetish scent with patchouli and oud dominating the first hour with rose just floating detectably under those notes. Can't see how rose is a top note as it only comes to the forefront more over time; more like a middle note. Honey and saffron are barely there but do give the fragrance it's 'appearance' of sweetness. Unfortunately not enough to counter the oud and patchouli. Fortunately the sanderwood note, also a weak note in this perfume, is of the highest quality so no cheap soapy undertone is occurring. IMO this is the second best oud based fragrance from the house of M. Micallef. The first being the powerhouse and intoxicating Emir. I must say this perfume is not a complement getter rather than a guilty pleasure that I am enjoying more and more. I wear it around the house and to bed at night. This fragrance is becoming addictive as many of the M. Micallef range have the ability to do.

دور ميكاليف.. المفضله لدي دائما تأخرت كثيرا لتجربة هذا العطر ولم اتفاجأ ان عجبني جدا.. رائحة العود المائله لرائحة البخور عطر ثقيل قليلا.. ليناسب الاجواء البارده اكثر محبي العود والباحثين عن عطر مناسبات جميل راقي نقي عليهم بتجربة هذه التوليفه.. لربما وجدوا ضالتهم فيه الثبات متوسط.. يفي بالغرض الفوحان جيد 9/10

If I may say, this is Dior Oud Ispahan on a budget

Opens very sharp and intense, with metallic notes. The sharpness fades away slowly and a musty oud shows up, on a soft layer of patchouli and metallic notes. There are hints of nutmeg and cinnamon in the background. A soft rose appears last and hovers over the other notes. The drydown is oud with a soft rose, with a hint of metal notes. Sillage is moderate, longevity is moderate on me as well. Sadly, I don't get any honey or saffron. The rose is also very faint. The metallic notes give the oud a very sharp edge, I like my oud to be soft and round so this one's not for me. Beautiful scent from the bottle though, but doesn't work on my skin.

The contact with this scent was one of the most traumatic olfactory experiences of my life - on my skin it simply develops like some sweety, intense cat urine in their mating season. Horrible, simply horrible.

Every Winter I would find myself gravitating towards this fragrance. I owned M. Micallef Aoud in the cute, pocket-sized 5ml dab bottle and found that it was just enough to last me two cold Winters. A few small dabs is all I needed to be clouded in its scent. M. Micallef Aoud is as its name suggests, an oud based fragrance. It's quite rich and powerful with added notes of red rose, earthy patchouli and an array of spices. Some describe oud as having a medicinal and/or petroleum type scent. In lots of ways M. Micallef Aoud could be described as such. It was all well and good with me however as I loved the way it smelt on my skin despite the fact that it is marketed for men. M. Micallef is one of those underrated niche houses. I hope to explore more ouds from his range. In addition to his beautiful compositions, I find them reasonably priced. M. Micallef Aoud is more of a night-time fragrance, however with that being said I did break the rules on a number of occasions and wear this fragrance to the office. Thankfully I received no complaints. The longevity was excellent on my skin and the projection super strong, hence the reason why I highly recommend no more than two sprays. Although it does have some masculine qualities, I still think it works well as a unisex fragrance.

WEll, I finally got the M.Micallef Homme (Aoud) and was in heaven, until about two hours went by...well, really sooner than that...It is the best smelling aoud fragrance I have ever encountered...and all that know me realize that is saying something since I have about 12 Montale Aouds and swear by them...the problem is, as others have said about most aMicallef's...they simply don't last very long at all..but damn, just over an hour and I'm reapplying all over the place...very dissapointing es[pecially since it costs much more than Monutales...what to do? I wonder if you can get the larger sizes at a better price from the maison in Paris? Or do they ship to the U.S./ I'm really bummed, but cannot afford 225. ever other month which is what it will wind up costing me at this rate (after 3 weeks the bottle is half empty and it's 100 ml.) later guys, cg.

Intoxicating! One of my favorites from M. Micallef! The opening is a tinny red rose, after a few minutes the oud becomes noticeable on my skin, so dark, smoky and dirty like a funky barnyard smell! The rose becomes stronger, beautiful smelling and blends with oud. A blend of heavy spices- a honeyed saffron-nutmeg-cinnamon accord, accompanies the oud. I notice the spicy saffron threads and cinnamon the most. Sandalwood is subtle giving a woody presence to the fragrance. The spices softens a little bit as the patchouli base is dark, slightly sweet from honey. I can still detect the soft rose from the top notes. Aoud is completely unisex, it lasts for a few hours on my skin (I don't mind) and projection is great then becomes softer after about 1 hour.

I'm not a fan of oud in general, but every now and then I catch myself wearing my sample of Aoud. And as a result, I'm always tempted into buying a bottle. Aoud is so well blended that the oud doesn't come off as sharp and doesnt have any of those rough edges normally found in agarwood. Instead, Aoud is sanded down nicely with a combination of sandalwood and a touch of honey. Its leathery and smoky, both daring but at the same time romantic. A classy scent that is well blended with a beautiful note of rose, saffron and well composed spices a la MFK's Lumiere. Chances are I will eventually pick up a bottle.

I am only going from a sample, but on me, this perfume did not exhibit any wonderfulness at all, even upon initial application. And I like oud fragrances. There was just an inoffensive oud note, lightly accompanied, which disappeared well within two hours. I could hardly raise a scent, even rubbing my wrists together. Fragrance 2/10 Longevity 1/10 Sillage 1/10 If I was M. Micallef, I would recall this product from the marketplace, sell the juice to some soap or candle manufacturer, any deny that the perfume ever existed. It's that bad, in my opinion.

C'mon guys! For me it's the best aoud scent out there. Longevity isn't so bad. Just after about 2 hours perfume settle down and it's close to skin. When i spray it on my neck i can detect aoud men at my polo shirt day after tommorow. Aoud is strong note by itself so in my opinion it's very good that this fragrance is quite subtle.
