Collection Rouge No2

It's such a shame that some people dismiss this beauty so easily. It's definitely something very different from the usual floral-fruity scents out there and it's not for everyone for sure. It has a red and loud character, a sort of look-at-me kind of style. But it really surprised me as I was looking for a scent with a summery vibe which was not too distinctively fruity nor floral. It has a gourmand and juicy vibe, but you can't say what it is for sure. It has a grown-up sweetness and somewhere in the middle, there is a yummy leather-like touch which I understand is castoreum. Very chic and outstanding IMO. And the bottle with those gorgeous Swarovski crystals is just to die for. Event the box is one-of-a-kind, signed and painted by Martine Micallef herself. So many beauties all together. I fell in love instantly and got a bottle. She's daring, she's loud, she's eye-catching, SHE'S ROUGE!

Martine did it again! These collection are very unique. The Rouge No2 is very interesting scent: creamy, sweet and softly warm a tiny metallic epilogue. On my skin not powerful the powderly accord. Soft, low sillage is enough to sweet my days.

At the first spray, blackcurrant is the most noticeable note and has a strong presence. Blackcurrant naturally carries both sweetness and acidity, with the character of a dark berry. Some people describe it as slightly tart jam. Unlike many commercial fruity fragrances, the blackcurrant here is not particularly juicy or transparent. The addition of spices and resins makes it feel denser and more mature. Even though the opening is fruity, it does not feel light or airy. After a while, florals begin to appear and gradually wrap around the fruit, softening the composition. Violet adds a powdery nuance, while jasmine brings brightness to the floral tone. The heart develops a faint cosmetic-like quality, somewhat reminiscent of a fruity floral makeup scent. At this stage the fragrance becomes smoother and less direct than the opening. In the drydown, the scent grows warmer and slightly sweeter. Vanilla and amber become more noticeable, creating the impression of gently heated sweet resin. The note list includes castoreum, but in the actual scent it comes across more as a subtle hint of dark leather rather than anything strongly animalic or dirty. It likely helps restrain the sweetness, which keeps the fragrance from becoming cloying. Although it was released in summer, it is not a fresh summer fragrance. Instead it leans toward a richer, more mature fruity oriental style, giving it a distinctly bold and vivid character. On clothing, longevity is around six to seven hours.

this smells just like something else that I own that is less expensive. A vanilla/amber scent that is warm and rich with a hint of fruit. Derivative. Quality.

Alright disclaimer: I didn't like this perfume, what I'm going to say below will be negative. I got a bunch of samples from lucky scent and this was one of them. This is one of the vary few perfumes where I actually pulled a disgusted face after putting it on, I really want to wash it off but I decided I will keep it while writing this just to make sure what I'm smelling. The smell brings me right back to changing a baby's diaper. I'm sorry to all those who like it, I'm sure it's just my body chemistry but that is it. The whole experience, the dirty diaper (baby poo/sour milk) the baby powder and the clean diaper..with a vanilla candle burning somewhere close by. I'm glad I kept it on because it is changing a little. The diaper changing aspect is fading for more vanilla/Amber. It might get pleasant eventually but I would never get it because of that opening. I would have to smell like pure heaven and angels and put me in utter zen to make that opening worth while

I have been playing with Rouge 2 for many months now. Initially I didn't get its gourmand sensibility, it was confusing: transparent yet edible, smoothly sensual then almost carnally animalic. Burnt sugar and vanilla somehow projecting a floral caramel with incredible lasting power. What is this? How is this rouge? Perhaps it's a metaphor. Literally I'll guess that it is the blackcurrant tempering the sweetness of the base with its fruit--the tart rouge softly coloring the golden and burnt edges of the base, keeping it from being too sweet, making it elegant. I have finally succumbed. It smells delicious. It invites contemplation. It develops along what seems like ought to be a linear trajectory--but it's not. It's the stages of a dessert delicately flavored with flowers and fruit. The last bites are the pastry cream left on the edges of the plate. This perfume is satisfying. It is for me--and a bottle is on its way.

To put it simply Rouge No. 2 is a fancy mix of an oriental and fruity-floral, that's sweet enough in its initial stages to be ranked as a gourmand oriental but not tooth-achingly so. It starts with bushels of luscious ripe berries that are turned into a mouth-watering fruit and caramel dessert, the sweetness held in check by a tangy cassis. The scent leaves the gourmand territory as it dries and goes down a darker resinous path, ending as a powdery warm amber with a tinge of dark musk, that is suggestive without reeking of sex. Rouge No. 2 has a very potent opening which wanes to become a skin scent by around the fifth hour wearing it.

Its been lying around for over 10 years and just when i was about to gift way the 3 bottles i own i sprayed it in air. Dont know what gave me a very musky feel. So i sprayed some more and more and eventually sprayed it on skin. I love animalics and it gave me this sensual dirty musk! I couldnt relate it to anything other then Sadonaso. The musk is similar to the one in Filthy Musk, Born to Stand Out. I was thinking of gifting this to someone. Now I'll be keeping them! It's a winner!

No lie this scent on the tops smells like a sweet Dr Pepper.. then as it dries down the sweet cherry black currant part subsides and you smell the spices and powder...there is something in this i have never smelled before its got to be the Oud..very nice scent!

To my nose, this is a rose, ambery and oud scent. I'm not sure what castoreum is, but it smells a lot like a light basenote of oud. Well done, but not my taste.
