Glamour

Somehow, despite the fact that not even intentional dupes and clones end up smelling nothing like Alien, Glamour does. Don't get me wrong though, this is beautiful on its own, and doesn't need comparison to Alien. I couldn't stop sniffing the tester strip and kept it at my desk, just to be able to smell it as long as it held the scent. To me the difference between Glamour and Alien is that Alien is perhaps a bit woodier in the opening and there is an animalic aspect to the jasmine note in it that is more subdued in Glamour. Plus I think it's the apple note in Glamour that gives it a sweetness that feels a bit lighter than the sweetness in Alien. Also the drydown seems a little bit more powdery. The composition of Glamour feels a tad more complex on the other hand. But in reality we know very little of Alien's true composition based on what's listed. I hope anyone doesn't actually believe the scent was achieved by mixing the 3-4 notes that it has been revealed to have on fragrance sites. The note comparison is not something to go by in this case. All in all I would say that they are a 80-90% match. To the point that people that are familiar with Alien would easily mistake it for it because Alien itself, like almost all fragrances, smells slightly different on everyone depending on their personal body chemistry. I can't agree with it resembling any of the Alien flankers more than the original however. But, that being said.... if someone has always always wanted to like Alien but has been put off the slightly animalic Jasmine, or the way the 'woody notes' develop and eventually settle... this might be a great alternative. For me, I like it because of how similar it is to Alien. Given the reformulation Alien has gone through and how Mugler's prices are now aspiring to rival niche even when there are questions about the quality of the product... this might be an option to consider. I can't comment on the longevity and sillage as of now, because that takes some more testing out. What I have noticed however is that I myself still pick up the scent over 7 hours later. As opposed to Alien which, and as I've seen others mention as well, can cause some type of nose fatigue where I myself am unable to smell it after a while even when everyone else around me can (especially the L'Oreal reformulation).

I've always wanted to purchase Glamour M. Micallef for a very long time, but it was a bit over-priced at $174 off the actual M. Micallef website and the shipping cost from there to the states which perhaps customs fees may apply, 😅 would probably run me between $235 or $240. Anyways, I was able to find it on sale on my favorite website and they have finally notified me after a year of it being out-of-stock. I've plunged right in to getting it and I must say, it reminds me of my current reformulated Alien by Loreal and the Mugler Essence Absolue the discontinued one that I have a small fraction of it being almost gone. The top note: plum, peach, and saffron is what I smell in the beginning and the middle notes of jasmine and rose slowly peaks through and dissipate and thats when the base notes of sandalwood and vanilla makes its debut on my body. I have read comments and watched YouTube videos on the "Secrets of Love Collection by M. Micallef and the perfumer Jean-Claude Astier whom worked alongside with Martina Micallef and her husband who raise their own flowers and hand craft their own perfume bottles with extreme pride and precision have created "Glamour" part of The Secrets of Love Collection. I've watched a few YouTube videos and the one YouTuber "Paulina Schar" have mentioned how much it reminds her of the old Alien along with the reformulated version of Alien by Loreal and the discontinued Mugler Essence Absolue. I knew then that I must claim it but for the fraction of the cost. Ms. Schar was indeed correct about it smelling like it was a cross breed of Alien and Mugler Essence Absolue. This fragrance to me can be worned year round and someone's signature scent. The lasting power is 5 to 7 hours and the sillage is perhaps 4 to 6 feet and it's suitable for females because it is fruity sweet and floral.

So I tried this because of YT’s fragrance community saying this was a dupe for the OG Alien. I have never understood the lure of Mugler as a brand so I wanted to try this and see if I could understand the appeal by proxy. First. The opening is intensely fruity. The Apple accord is so strong, when I was smelling this cold, I stalled trying it on for fear of having another version of Kayali’s Eden. That being said, I’m surprised litchi isn’t listed in the notes. For me, the perfume is a lot more enjoyable, later on, when the fruity beginnings die down some and the creamy base and florals start to come through. I have a tumultuous relationship with sandalwood but, in Glamour, it rounds out the fragrance nicely and combines with vanilla to make the jasmine soft and palatable. Still, I agree with a previous contributor that you will likely not love this if you don’t vibe with Jasmine. As for me, I’m happy to have a decant of the first winter-friendly fruity floral in my collection. Hoping to find another that will knock my socks off but loving the added range.

The resemblance to original Alien, pre L’Oreal is definitely there, so it’s safe to consider getting Glamour if you’re lusting over the older Alien formulations. But, forgetting the resemblance to Alien, Glamour is a glorious fruity, jasmine bomb. You have plums, cashmeran, apples, peaches, vanilla and some soft spices. It’s nothing never seen before as far as notes go, but the scent is something extraordinary. Very rich, intense, in your face type of scent, which is what I love in perfumery. The kind of scent that enters the room before you... Last a whole day and some on clothing and has a good sillage. Obviously, I love a good white floral perfume, with fruity nuances, (plums are some of my favourites), so Glamour goes to my wish list straight away. Again, all those missing old Alien should get their noses on Glamour! It’s not 100% identical, but it’s the perfect substitute for OG Alien! So impressed with this

Lush, honeyed jasmine (not a honey note, but the honey/nectar element that can emerge from jasmine flowers), on a pedestal of soft warm wood. There is something sparkling and effervescent about it as it develops. Perhaps this comes from the fruit notes. I tend to shy away from "fruity" fragrances, but despite the fruit notes listed for this, I (thankfully) don't personally get distinct or prominent fruits, other than a fleeting peachy apple-cinnamon waft on first spray. But I suspect they are lending a lovely uplift to the overall composition. I think this smells a lot like Memo Paris's Flam and Dior Jasmins Marzipane, except with the fruity overtones layered in, making Glamour sweeter.

While you are right Femme Fatale I really hope Micallef is not famous enough to have copies. But I do have doubt about my backup bottle, still do,didn't test, but it looks weird bought online, not in store. The current, first one bought in store, is a bomb, super strong 2 sprays enough and it develops lovely on skin over time, so yeah I'm surprised by all the comments saying it is weak. Maybe some are anosmic. I smell this one for hours on skin and even for days on clothes. And yes it smells a bit soapy on clothes. On my skin it smells very naturally.

I don’t know what took me so long to add this to my collection because I am obsessed with this! So it definitely smells like the OG Alien, but to me this is somehow more creamy and more refined and elegant. It’s a goregous creamy and spicy and clean jasmine. So intoxicating. It smells so expensive and luxurious I literally feel like a royal princess wearing it lol Also what a stunning bottle it looks like an artwork and even more beautiful in person😍 Scent 10/10 Longevity 8.5/10 Sillage 9/10 Compliments 10/10

Beautiful fragrance! It is long lasting . Spicy opening and jasmine with refreshing, yet powdery notes of apple and plum. Not that similar to Alien, only a little in the drydown. It is unique and subtle, yet luscious and spicy.There is something yummy about it, guess the fruits and spices. Edit:After wearing it for some time I must say I really love this and must have it in my collection always. On me it is strong but not overpowering. Very sofisticated. Kinda like Alien flanker with apple note.

Opening is literally 1:1 Alien. On drydown, it smells like alien with a more matured dry down, maybe a stronger cashmeran/wood smell to it. Very good alternative to Clarins era Alien, more similar to the original than the current formula is. On the later dry down, it smells very similar to Alien but like maybe less sweet. There is still like a wood/leather smell in it that gives a nice contrast. Very strikingly similar to Alien still! Certainly smell like it could be an Alien flanker.

Oh wow! Instant love - but I also love most of the fragrances voted as similar. It’s a little warmer and sweeter than OG Alien, and not as pungent or ethereal - but it does scratch that itch! Glamour is more like Alien than L'Oréals reformulated Alien. While my old bottle (that’s macerated 10+ years) fills a room and lasts for a week on clothes, Glamour is like a whisper of Alien. It lasts half a day with intimate projection. I’m looking forward to see how it develops over the years.

Glamor is luxuriously fragrant, an instant love for me. The opening notes are juicy peach and apple, peppered with cinnamon and nutmeg. Then, a classical floral bouquet appears in the heart: jasmine, rose, and plum, little by little becoming pleasantly powdery. The base notes with the cashmere, vanilla and musk is classic and refined. Glamour is unisex, maybe leaning a bit feminine, rich, seductive, and incredibly long lasting. Sillage is good, elegant and restrained.

I don't like Alien and disagree that this resembles Glamour...smells totally different to my nose. I also don't really get the note profile, either. Except for the sandalwood...I can pick that out. I agree that it dries down powdery, but I like that in a fragrance... Lasts a LONG time. Great projection and longevity. The bottle is TO DIE FOR, like all of M. Micallef's bottles. I an so happy I found this fragrance and perfumer. LOVE this scent.

It really is similar to Alien and Alien Absolue. The main star is jasmine with nutmeg and apple notes in the opening. Plums add a drop, too. I made a note that it is fit for the night but on this cold autumn day it is also a great companion. Rather universal with regards to weather. Strong. Yet I think I prefer it in the spring, it feels too cold for gloomy autumn. I feel echos of it next morning.

I absolutely love this scent. It reminds me of a grown up Alien, pre-formulations. It’s not exactly the same, but I actually think I like it better than the original Alien, which is saying a lot, since it used to be my signature scent. This is sexy, feminine, and just intoxicating. My husband cant get enough. I’m a huge fan of white florals, and this just ticks off all my boxes.

This is more “alien” than than the newest formulation of alien. The jasmine is very prominent and loud. I love it. This also reminds me of the alien essence absolue which unfortunately has been discontinued. This sits nicely between the original alien and alien essence absolue. It’s not as sharp as the original alien. I’m really loving fragrances from m.micallef.

Comparing this to the Clarins formulation of Alien, I’d say this one is slightly soapier , more powdery , fruity and more well blended since the Jasmin doesn’t top up for me like the reformulation alien . It’s not as loud either This is beautiful powdery sweet creamy floral , perfect for every day use and sexy enough for date nights

I have never smelled this but anytime I look at someone’s shelves and see this bottle I am drawn to it. I think it’s beautiful...I may have to purchase it on that point alone. Which is a first for me!!!! The notes sound interesting so hopefully all works out 🤞 I do have a pre 2010 (2nd gen??) Alien and enjoy it. Price scares me for a true blind but. Also I need to check out the others from this line because as I said above it’s truly the bottle that intrigued me. **UPDATE**I received this for Xmas and it really is very reminiscent of Alien. But IMO prettier and softer. This should have a disclaimer that states MUST LIKE JASMINE. However I find an airiness and lightness here that I don’t get from my Alien. I definitely get the fruits...although none are standalone to my nose. More of a melange. The musk and is also super present with some depth from the woods. I can’t wait to continue to wear this and discover how it unfolds. The bottle is as beautiful as I hoped and very substantial. I am excited to have it in my collection. *EDIT- I just read some reviews and saw someone say this is less cloying than Alien and I absolutely agree. I love Alien but that is a significant difference between the two. This is still a sweet jasmine bomb floral though..don’t be mistaken.

I purchased this fragrance for the sole purpose of finding a dupe for a pre-2020 version of Alien, and it was a blind buy based on YouTube recommendations. Given that the pyramid is quite different, I was skeptical. It seems there are varying opinions about whether Glamour is similar to Alien. As it turns out, I find it to be a dead ringer for ~2012 Alien, or at least 95% similarity. The difference is that this is a softer experience that sits closer to the skin, unless you overspray, which I don’t mind. Part of being an Alien, is being loud. Glamour is not that. For some, that will be a positive. For me, it means spraying more. If you’re like me, and finding an Alien dupe is your motivation, I certainly find it here. If you want a softer Alien, yep. If you are simply looking for a beautiful fragrance, yes, you will find that here, too. (Though pricey.)

Beautifully done alternative to Alien. I’m comparing Glamour to my original formula Alien EDT and EDP. Glamour’s jasmine is crisp like Alien EDT but it does not have the screechy citrus of Alien EDT. Glamour is a little floral soapy, where Alien EDP is laundry soapy which I don’t find as appealing. Glamour is powdery in the drydown. Alien becomes a muddy in the drydown, especially after reapplication. Glamour is brighter and sparkling, Alien is smoothly metallic. I like both and justify having both in my collection (I could do without the EDT). One is suitable for daily wear (Glamour) while Alien is better for nightlife because it will stand out more in a crowd. No performance issues either.

This really is a great dupe/alternative to Mugler Alien. In fact, I think its better. The scent starts off fruity, with a very subtle masculine note but the dry down is near on identical to Mugler Alien (but better!). If you want to smell like Alien before the silly reformulations then this is your scent! Longevity and sillage is strong, a little goes a long way! The bottle is stunning, nicely presented. This is my first M. Micallef fragrance but I will ordering more from this house for sure.

This sort of reminds me of Safanad but not really. It has that same sort of uplifting honeyed fruity nectar feel. It smells like it has tuberose in it even though it doesn't so I understand some of the "similar to" 's. It is quite powdery. I think the name Glamour is something of a misnomer however. It's a pretty floral jasmine scent with some inviting fruits and warm spices, quite special, but its not especially screaming glamour to me. Beautiful bottle.

Purchased this one after hearing great things on YouTube from alien lovers. I was a bit disappointed upon first sniff and I don’t think it’s worth the price. There is something alluring about it and my family thinks it’s beautiful, but I wouldn’t repurchase.

Tested this one and Ajmal Sacrifice and they smell almost identical, except Ajmal is more jasminish while Glamour is more applelish and creamish. I think considering price I prefer Ajmal, but I certainly prefer them both over L'Oréal edition of Alien.

This is the jasmine fragrance I have been looking for. Glamour is deep, rich and quite sweet on my skin. A real compliment getting and so, so much nicer than the current formulation of Alien.

This to me smells 95% like pre reformulation Alien but with less longevity and projection. I don't get any saffron. A like. Not a love.

smells really similar to alien - mugler

Glamour is a dead ringer for the Original Formulation of Alien, HOWEVER.... However, it doesn’t smell as nice as the Original Alien to my nose. I have a bottle of the original Alien that I spritzed on one wrist and Glamour on the other wrist and I am doing a comparison right now and though they do start the exact same, after about 20 minutes, they start taking different directions (at least, on my skin and according to my nose). Alien is floral and joyful and BIG and not ashamed of its power. It radiates such beautiful white florals and amber and wood notes too, of course. It is a bomb but a happy bomb 😅 what the heck am I trying to say here?? Glamour veers more on the dry side of things. It is more dry-woodsy-almost leathery to my nose and though the fruits and the flowers are in there, they stand more in the background. They do not have the same power that the florals of Alien hold. The joyfulness of Alien is in its monstrous florals. And amber. And woods, yes. The whole composition of Glamour is more subdued on my skin. It’s not as happy as Alien either. I do not dislike Glamour by any means, it’s a fine fragrance but I do not love it either, it’s just meh. I think I’ll let go of Glamour and just keep on cherishing my bottle of Alien (original formula) and wear it on special occasions. Glamour was a blind buy and though I am definitely selling it, I am glad I got to try it. Though I have to admit that bottle of Glamour looks magnificent...but it’s not enough to entice me to keep it...

I have never smelled the original alien before mugler was taken over by L'Oreal. The alien that is currently on the market now IMO sucks. I can't stand it. I had to downgrade this to an ok vote. Is it bad? Well not the worst thing I've ever smelled but it is generic, and annoying. Like a cheap dryer sheet. I just don't get the hype around this and since it is so close to vintage alien then I guess I would not have been wowed by that either. The nutmeg here is very strong combining with a detergent like Jasmine and cheap amber accord. I have to downgrade this to a dislike. Cloying, cheap, fake spicy amber jasmine. I do not get the hype. I will be giving this decant away. I just find this perfume very annoying. Like nails on a chalkboard.

I do agree with the comparison to Alien, but they are not identical. Alien is a powerhouse floral. Glamour is far more delicate and a little soapy. Unfortunately it's more linear than I expected. The apple, nutmeg, cinnamon, etc. In the listed notes are nonexistent to my nose. So it's pleasant, but nothing unique.

This is to powdery for my taste....

My first (and last) expensive blind buy fail. After wearing it more often, I realized that this is not good on my skin at all. Glamour has a heavy pungent chlorine undertone on my skin, and although the actual materials smell of pretty good quality, I am pretty sure I got a bad bottle, since I have high expectations from M. Micallef and this isn’t their typical style at all. Maybe it's the musk? Maybe a component in this fragrance's aromachemicals turned volatile? If so, I'm steering VERY clear of their other musk fragrances, because this is giving me a LOT of calone-adjacent coldness, airiness, and this strange astringency in the base. I purchased it from a reputable site, fragrancenet, so I’m quite certain it’s not fake. I was hoping the dry down would at least bring out the warm, luxurious creaminess of the florals, but it just stays airy, vapid, and...empty. It's a bit of a nice, light soapy jasmine with a slight tropical touch in the drydown, but it's still so faint! Also, it has no personality, no character, which is surprising for a brand like M. Micallef. I can smell the apple and jasmine, but can’t really smell much else, and there is extremely light sillage and minimal projection/trail. It's not too sweet, which I appreciate (so this is certainly NOT to be compared with the dreadful D&G The Only One Intense! That one is sugar overload, but Glamour has just a light whisper of natural sweetness, which is where I can sense the good quality materials start to come through in this one). Longevity is respectable at right around 6 hours. There isn’t a lot that's giving this fragrance the necessary body that it needs even though there’s a laundry list of notes. I don’t mind the aspect of it being a more intimate fragrance, but It reads as a very chilly sterile calone-esque fragrance on me, and I prefer fragrances with a warm backbone. It doesn’t give me a mood at all, it’s just a blank slate due to the sterility I’m getting from the aroma chemicals. It just doesn’t know its own identity: It doesn't know if it wants to be a soapy freshie or a sensual creamy floral. It smells dainty and floral, close to the skin, no matter what the temperature is, but this certainly doesn’t smell niche, and I’m used to powerhouse intricate unique artistry from M. Micallef, and this was not it. This is ok, but again, no personality. Alien and Rouge Malachite are full bodied, have CHARACTER, and Rouge M. sits a bit close to the skin but still has this acute luxuriousness to it, this sensuality. No soapiness. M. Micallef Glamour is nice in retrospect, dries down to a light soapy jasmine with a slightly tropical fruity twist, but from the time it's sprayed until the time it disappears, it just smells like a fragrance that has already been scrubbed off the skin with dish detergent or sterile cleaning solution, and it’s just not something I enjoy for myself, for the price. For an intimate scent, it lasts a respectable amount of time (about 6 hours) but it's not even close to what I was expecting. I will be selling my bottle.

Very surprised there’s no star anise or fennel listed. That’s all I get in the beginning, just a punchy anise. This one is very perfumey, on my skin it’s screechy jasmine with anise, grounded by a cloying musk/cashmere combo. The musk and cashmere is BBW cheap, synthetic. I can see the comparison to Alien, another enemy jasmine of mine. As I’ve come to find, there aren’t a lot of takes on jasmine that works for me, however much I like the flowers. This is fit for the Macy’s perfume counter with many similar perfumey duds.

I can’t help but think about how much this resembles alien fusion! It smells more like alien fusion compared to the original alien. Not only is it warmer, spicier and more dense; it’s also a more sensual and sexier version of the original alien (imo). Seriously, It’s like a 1:1 replica to fusion! On paper, it’s fresh and fruity. On skin, it jumps straight to alien fusion. However, i still enjoy glamour a lot. Just as the name suggests.. it’s SO glamorous. I can imagine myself wearing this to the most formal, fancy events. I find this very loud, but it sadly doesn’t last that long. That’s the only downside i can think of!

After spraying a tester of this on, my 3 year old son said, "Mommy, you smell good". Then a few minutes later my husband goes, "WOW! You smell so good, what is that!?" Suffice to say, this fragrance is definitely attractive to the male species! It smells basically identical to Alien, but dare I say that I prefer this? It's less heady and more smoothe and refined, yet still pretty powerful and long-lasting. The amber in Alien is what can sometimes give me a headache, so because this one doesn't have amber, I feel like it's less cloying. I really enjoy this one!

I wouldn’t say vintage alien (mfg for Thierry mugler) because that has a thickness this doesn’t. This smells like second gen(mfg for CFG Neuille) with some sugar and tuberose added. It’s is VERY alien like but doesn’t have anywhere near as much vanilla as the version of alien i mentioned. It’s super strong and pretty present in the air and airy. This makes me want to buy one of those rare alien extraits and compare the two.

This smells like so many before her: Classique By Jean Paul Gaultier, Alien Mugler and my first association, Safanad by Parfums de Marly of which I currently own and wear. It must be the vanilla, Sandalwood, and whatever is being used to create the Amber effect. All I know is that Glamour is very familiar, and therefore not that exciting. It’s neither better nor intriguing, and fails to hold my interest.

Yes, I really like this, it is a beautifully blended sweet floral, Jasmine is prominent but not overbearing. Although I love Jasmine, so I wouldn't care if it was. I am wearing it now writing this review and am getting wafts radiating from me, I smell real good. If you like sweet florals I think this is a safe buy for you. I am starting to notice I like a lot of perfume with plum in the notes.

This is a gorgeous perfume! It took me awhile to appreciate it. I sprayed about 4 times then forgot about it until the next day. The sweater that I sprayed smelled amazing! It’s warm and cool at the same time! The only thing I can compare it to is a crisp apple pie sprinkled with nutmeg. I’ll be purchasing when I run out of Alien.

@violinhead8120 fragrancenet is a grey site that gets inventory from all over the globe (not direct from brands), with counterfeits mixed in. Grey sites are NOT considered reputable sources. They are gambles, hence being called grey sites. I really wish more people understood this.

Glamour is not as dark as alien but very similar to it! This is a clean alien-kind of jasmine scent. Very nice. I still prefer alien (old patch) as it is more mysterious, dark, sexy ALIEN. Sadly Glamour doesn't last on my skin, otherwise I would like to add it to my collection.

Ahh I wish I listened to the reviews that said this is Alien. If you did not like Alien, you will hate this. :( Do not listen to the ones that says Alien but better. If you did not like Alien, trust me you can skip this. You are not missing out.

This is definitely Alien but better version, it’s pretty much identical. Pretty crazy I rearly stump upon pretty much identical fragrances, usually one is a bit different than another but they’re like twins.

If anyone is looking to regime their bottle, I will gladly take it off your hands! I am in the US
