Woooow, this was an absolute experience. Soooo strong blast of smoke, tar and liquor when it's still wet. To me it then dries in to a smoky leather with soft, sweet, delicious and almost caramel like vanilla. Amazing, beautiful and delicious!! I'm not at a point where I would spend so much money on something quite challenging like this but wow, I absolutely loved to try this! EDIT: Oh alright, it's way past dry down now and it's aaaa lot more tame. More vanilla less leather and smoke. Like it a lot but wish the leather and smoke would be stronger still. Deliciousness and softness thank goodness not gone anywhere though :) Take this with that infamous grain of salt cause I only have a sample spray, small sprays :)

I am truly captivated by this fragrance! Alluring, smoky and sexy,Gourmet is a love secret for grown-ups ! The bottle is gorgeous! Something about this frag reminds me of Le Feu d'Issey, although it's been more than 12 years since I last had a bottle of this gem. Very good longevity, silage is soft to moderate.

An appetizing, almost buttery vanilla mingling with smoke creates a distinctive combination. Sweet gourmand notes are felt briefly, especially at the opening, then as they dry down, the scent focuses mainly on the smoke, which forms a noticeable base of the sillage.

It’s delicious but something puts me off. It has some note that smells both medicinal, spoiled (spoiled milk) and also somewhat plastic-y (or maybe like a burnt car tire). So think of all this thing mixed with caramel of something sweet. Strange... Follow me on IG: scent.guide

Not a safe blind buy for gourmand lovers. While the bottle is exquisite, the perfume is not as enchanting and definetely not for every nose. Chestnut, leather and insence turned out to be a lethal combination for me. Starts loud, strange, but interesting as an extremely sweet, but not gourmand, insence and harsh leather, - good to get a wiff of, but not for wearing. It persists for at least a couple of hours, gives a headache and then dissipates into a quiet soft vanilla with a light urine smell and a body in need of a bath. Luckily it is almost a skin scent, so no one will probably notice it at that point, unless you are intimate. If you want a gourmand fragrance from this house, try Mon Parfum Cristal, it is simply divine.

An odd one. I feel chocolate and smoke but such as sausages or ham are smoked in... Chestnuts, however, are the strongest on me. I feel also labdanum and maybe the tiniest hint of raspberry that just warms the main note. It is more masculine and my least favourite of the collection though it does have some charm. Roasted chestnuts are so wintery. If only the smoke would not remind me of meat. With time the vanilla note slowly moves forward, but with leather and smoke tinge.

What the holy cannolli is that burnt tyre bomb, Madame Micallef? Incense? After the pleasant surprise I had with Passion, I had to throw this one out of my house! Unbearable.

This is the finest gourmand I've tried -- if one can even call it that. It's smoky, nutty, woodsy, and the sweetness is so tame, a name like Gourmet does not justify the overall scent profile. This is the smell of oven-roasted chestnuts, being pulled out of a wood-fired oven, on a cold winter night. The entire scent revolves around chestnuts, smoke, leather, and cistus. The chestnuts create a subtle nutty bittersweetness and warmth which intertwine beautifully with smoke and vanilla. I also get something of the likes of coffee and tobacco. Classy, cozy, and deep. Although, an entirely different fragrance, Gourmet shares a similar vibe with Tobacco Oud. A wonderful fragrance by Micallef masterfully blended by Jean-Claude Astier.

It's definitely smoky; literal wispy like parched leather was lit and the flame just put out. It's just much too much smoke to me; one of the many 'notes' I'm anosmic too to the point of almost gagging. Violets, oud, smoke, oranges figs and almonds give me this so this one fell in. It's sad because there is a nice warmer side that develops in the drydwon that shows this scent (like the line) has real Quality. Yet another case of 'Nicheism' for me in the end; bonfire challenge at start needs to be survived (ahem, read: tolerated after dropping the $150 on it) then you'll get the warming vanilla and cosy fireside roasted nuts effect. My rating: 5/10

Gorgeous deep smoky and nutty fragrance. Opening is leather soaked with raspberry juice that slowly settles into dark and aromatic smoked chestnuts on the bed of sweet vanilla. The fragrance is a great play on the leather and oud. Unusual, deep and boozy. Fall and winter are the best seasons to wear this gem.

I get a tonne of raspberry and leather. Definitely gourmand and nutty too. Fairly butch, the leather is very prominent. But beautiful. Unisex.
