Ma Nature

Opens animalic and with a minty patchouli, settling into an earthy honeyed tobacco scent. The honey note is persistent and noticeable but less sweet when compared to other honey-forward fragrances (The Oud Affair, Honey Tobacco or Honey Dragon come to mind).

This one is underrated. The performance is great. The smell is complex. Patchouli, honey and tonka bean dominate.

If you’re into sweet but earthy, warm spicy, balsamic, aromatic fragrance, heavy on patchouli in the same time, Ma Nature might be the scent for you! For me, it’s too much lavender here and it’s ruining the fragrance for me. And I don’t like a minty patchouli, which is how the patchouli smells in here. I really like the opening where the cloves and honey smooth out the patchouli. But then lavender takes over and it’s just too much, too sweet and cloying to be honest... On the bright side, Ma Nature is very strong, rich and deep. It’s a fragrance for cold weather for sure that goes a bit into a masculine direction, especially as it dries down. I like it, but I don’t love it because there’s too much harsh lavender plus a minty patchouli for my personal taste. But unlike other fragrances I have tried recently from Micallef, Ma Nature smells niche and unique. Different but not in an off putting way! Let’s say it’s an acquired type of scent! To sum it up on this brand, from everything I have tested so far from M. Micallef, Ma Nature, Ylang In Gold and Glamour are definitely head turning scents! Hypnotic Musk, O Feminin and Soleil Passion are really nice, but simple scents, nothing to write home about! This, for the a certain amount of people, could become their signature fragrance! It’s a statement scent for sure.

Just an observation. The note structure of Ma Nature seems almost 1:1 identical to Naxos, minus the tobacco leaf of Naxos, plus musk in the base of Ma Nature. Interesting that M. Micallef would choose to release something so unoriginal in 2024. Or who knows, it might smell totally different than Naxos. Have to get my nose on it when it becomes available. Nonetheless, Naxos is a gorgeous perfume! This might be as well.. Update February 2025: got a sample of this from Jovoy Paris. Nothing like Naxos! And pulls more masculine, so not for me.

NB! the note here are wrong- This is taken from the website: Top notes: Agarwood blend - Patchouli leaves - Lavender - Honey accord - Clove Heart note: Cinnamon - Patchouli coeur - Cashmere wood - Sandalwood Base notes: Amber - Tobacco - Vanilla - Tonka bean - Musk - Earthy accord The opening is a lightly animalic oud, then it settles down to a "typical" Middle East fragrance. I feel strongly tobacco, amber and sandalwood. Something that could be released by Xerjoff. I find it unisex. Nothing groundbreaking but still a good fragrance.
