Mon Parfum Cristal

So, this will be my first review ever here... I've recently discovered Mon parfum cristal by M.Micallef and I was blown away! I literally cannot believe that nobody is talking about this scent!? I'm shocked 'cause this fragrance is literally the epitome of femininity. it's feminine, sexy, alluring, refined, classy, unique, captivating.. It's very strong and sweet, for ladies that are 25 and above(can't imagine teenage girl wearing this). It screams fall and winter from it but I think it can be also worn in the early spring. More of a night time scent, perfect for a date night, casual wearing - maybe. Gotta test it out ... If I must choose to wear only one perfume for the rest of my life, this would be it. I want to smell like this for the rest of my life. One of the most beautiful and feminine fragrances I've ever smelled (well, alongside with Meliora from Parfums de Marly)! It's an aphrodisiac for men. Short story: When my boyfriend(22), tried that fragrance he literally rolled his eyes into the back of his head and went crazy. I have to say that he tried almost every fragrance I like and consider to be sexy and feminine, but none of those evoked and triggered that kind of reaction he had with Mon parfum cristal...It has arousing effect on men. The first thing popped to my mind when I smell this fragrance are 2 fictional character - Prue Halliwell from Charmed(Shannen Doherty) and Dana Scully from X-files(Gillian Anderson). Don't know why.. I guess maybe 'cause I imagine them to smell like that. I imagine them to smell like Mon parfum Cristal in the Fall/Winter time and like Meliora from PM in the Spring/Summer time. I admire their natural beauty and they are a true 'femme fatale' for me. They both have something mysterious in their look I really like, especially Gillian Anderson. All of that I can relate with Mon parfum cristal which also has the same mysterious vibe around it. So, if you wanna smell like a godess, like the most beautiful, classy woman in the world and if you wanna draw attention of a male population wear this. 😉 I currently own just samples, and few days ago I caught myself acting like Gollum from Lord of the rings when he said 'my precious' to The Ring ... O.o Can't wait to buy a full bottle..... Probably I'll buy 2, just in case they discountinue it... Mon parfum cristal from Micallef and Meliora from PM are literally my favorite fragrances in the entire world.

Rose, amber, vanilla musk with a touch of spice and a touch of a gourmand note, not explicitly detectable as toffee, though. If there is one thing my collection is lacking, it's evening scents. I have a ton of daytime scents and honestly need to add some more formal, nightime scents. To me, this is giving an evening out. This is not an everyday, signature scent. There is something special about this one that I would want to save it for special occasions and formal evenings. This would make a great formal scent for anyone 25+. Oftentimes, evening, special occasion fragrances are often associated with being mature so I'm glad to find one that still feels slightly youthful. I don't think this is going to be for teenage girls going to prom youthful, it's a bit more sophisticated than that, but it feels perfect for that category for women 25-50. With that, if you are 14 and love this, or you are 80 and love this, I say ROCK IT! My first perfume purchase was Chanel Allure when I was 13 so, we like what we like when we like it! This one is really beautiful and my little 1 oz. is perfect for how I envision using this. I think the only time you wouldn't want to wear this would be hot, summer nights and definitely not during the hot, summer days. It doesn't project a ton, but it definitely doesn't feel like a scent you would want to wear in the heat. I really love the musk used here and thank God! Musk is one of those notes that can really ruin a scent for me if I'm not into the type of musk used, it just destroys the whole composition (I'm talking to you Paolo Terenzi!) It's a very clean, white musk here, thankfully, and it provides a nice lift and airy quality to the perfume.

I agree this perfume smells very similar to Jessica Simpson Fancy, as stated by another reviewer below, but less syrupy, no pear, and add roses. But the main idea is the same. The are both VERY sweet gourmand sillage bombs with a similar vibe. I do like Fancy but I own so many more sophisticated and expensive perfumes that I don't wear it ever. So I hesitated on Mon Parfum Cristal a bit because I thought, meh, it seems kinda cheap to me. But then I gave it a proper wear and I really couldn't stop thinking about how good I smelled. So I decided it was worth it after all. I'm not really so into this type of La Vie Est Belle powerhouse sugary gourmand anymore but I think what saves this perfume from going completely overboard into cavity-inducing diabetic coma is the powdery rose which tempers the super sweet notes. Overall I would recommend if you are looking for a powerhouse gourmand with a rosy flair. I got mine at a discounter so I do recommend that. Although I enjoy the scent, I don't think I would have paid full price. Sillage- monster Longevity- solid 6 hours and then skin scent after that EDIT: I am now wearing it several months after my first review, and I am getting much less JS Fancy this time. I reviewed it originally in summer, and now it is winter. So either it's my nose, or the weather definitely has an impact on this scent. Regardless, I'm still enjoying it! Definitely easy to wear, BUT, imho one spray is more than enough, otherwise you will suffocate haha

This is very syrupy-sweet in the opening, I imagine a honey infused rose Turkish delight would taste just like this smells. I much prefer it in the dry-down when the soft vanilla starts coming through. On me there is not a lot of sillage with Mon Parfum Cristal, it sits quite close to my skin and I definitely prefer having the option to sniff it when I want, rather than it overpowering my senses. It's rose dominant, but a nectary rose with the powder sitting very quietly in the background and letting the sweet sugary sappiness side of the flower take center stage. This is definitely one for sweet gourmand lovers. As a final note, I must give some extra points to the packaging and presentation. Vintage elegance like a blend of art nouveau with a touch of Dali. I don't know why I get that really, it's just the best way I could synthetize it: the bottle design as if your hand squeezed it too tightly, the crystals, the white satin pouf, it's all just so dreamy and gorgeous which makes the experience of applying this perfume something from another era.

I got this based on the reviews and was not disappointed. On my first try I was not getting much longevity for something this quality, so I put pure shea butter on, let that soak in for 20-30 min and then applied, and it made a huge difference as well as giving it a bit more depth than it had at first. The pink pepper and cinnamon opening are lovely, and then I get a light rose and the toffee, with only a hint of the vanilla or the musk. I don't know how to describe this, it has some sweetness and almost a tuberose note, but it isn't that heavy, headache inducing tuberose (probably because there isn't tuberose listed...;-) ). This scent is just pretty, feminine, comforting and sweet. This isn't like anything I have smelled before, definitely unique for my fragrance experience and I am hoping memorable. This will probably be too much for summer, but I can see it working in all other seasons. It was a great blind buy.

Honestly I wasn't very impressed by Mon Parfum Cristal when I first got it. There is a very strong fruity "ripeness"- almost bubblegum-y - in this perfume that isn't reflected in the note list, and it mutes all the supposedly pre-dominant notes: rose, toffee, and vanilla. I would never call the toffee "syrup-y sweet" like those offered by Mugler, nor the rose "dewy" like any conventional dewy rose offer (cue Jo Malone). And the vanilla... is fruity? In summary - I didn't know what to make of it. However Cristal has a beautiful rose-vanilla musk dry down and that changed my opinion completely. This is one of the few scents that get better and better as time goes by. The vanilla is smooth, slightly rosy with a good amount of sweet to it. And best part yet - it lasts and lasts. So now I'm keeping my bottle and using it for special occasions. Wore this to a wedding last night and compliments went will into this AM :)

A powerhouse at 8-12+ hours with bold projection, it's perfect for evenings when you want elegant, delectable allure that lingers like a lover's whisper.

When I first tried my sample, Mon Parfum Cristal made me think of those fruity chewy toffee-like candies. Though this was not at all fruity, but instead a pale pink colour and rose flavoured chewycandy sprinkled all over with powder sugar! Delicious. Underlying a super fancy and elegant white barsoap. I think it's pretty much linear, and I really like that with this one. Super strong and long lasting, myself I would mostly like to wear this during winter and fall. I did buy a full bottle and I think it's my favourite bottle that I've ever held so far. Photos don't do justice in my opinion :) It can get a bit sharp, pink pepper does that often for me at least, but I've noticed it's way more beautiful if you're considerate with application (as so many other perfumes of course!) And I see this as super elegant, feminine winter and fall scent, which could suit many ages so well :)

This fragrance is creamy, creamy, creamy and sweet. It’s luscious, like an extremely decadent dessert. You get the caramel-toffee strong off the bat, and the rose isn’t realistic or fresh or green, it’s jammy rose candy. This fragrance is like eating rose Turkish delight while drinking a caramel macchiato in the dead of winter. Truly a gourmand. It has a potent spillage cloud of sweet caramel. After a few hours that settles down just a little and I can detect a more powdery and musky note, like the rose intensified when it isn’t competing against caramel-nut-cream custard. The dry down is a vanilla rose with a hint of musk, lasts easily through the work day and into evening as a gentler skin scent. Lasts a long time on clothing, but unlike the picture at the top, the juice is a deep ruby red - so apply to clothing with caution. Scent: 7.5/10 Longevity: 9/10 Overall: 8/10

Rose planned to meet Jack the next morning on the deck of the Titanic, where she would hand him this declaration of her love..... ———————————————————————-———————————————- This deep amber colored liquid is Mon Parfum Cristal by @martinemicallef and it is what I imagine Victorian Era love letters were doused in. This is a warm floral fragrance. A dignified Bulgarian rose bathing in toffee liqueur, but the presence of white musk keeps the perfume airy and delicate, holding it from being a gourmand. This is the scent sprayed on petticoats that cause even the most refined gentleman to lean in closer to catch a whiff. 💙

I think this perfume is misunderstood. The Cristal in the name aludes to the fact that this is a scent with a translucent, glass-like, texture. Exactly what Baccarat Rouge did many years later. The scent is very original in that, in my opinion. It is a sweet rose with a cristal feeling. It veers on aquatic, which makes it extremely on trend. All seasons, any occasion. It is light enough - and aquatic enough - to be suitable in hot weather. But it is sweet and soft enough to do well in colder weather. The fact that it becomes so soft in the dry down is very interesting. To me, there is no mature quality at all in this. Sure, it does not have pear in the opening, which is what every brand is doing to "modernize" rose, but it is not a pot-pouri kind of rose whatsoever. It is fresh and lovely. Just lovely!

I tried this today and I was taken. Even more I liked a black version I cannot remember the name. This is an extremely good vanilla with rose and toffee. It smells attractive and addictive with a great quality level. Not much going on here but what goes really goes. I don't think it smells like some celeb scent, because none of those possess the strenght and purity of this vanilla. It doesn't smell complicated, basically a great gourmand without falling into the synthetic vanilla vat. It's gourmand but not too foody or candy. Both vanilla and rose make a soft yet intense fragrance, sweet without being sickening, just balanced. Probably not worthy its price, not even for the beautiful jeweled bottle, nonetheless lovely. It keeps melting with my skin and becoming warmer and even more addictive.

I bought this fragrance in May of 2019, and did not appreciate it at all. I had sprayed it when it came in the mail and was so disappointed in my 'blind buy', as I thought it was too vintage and mature. The second time I sprayed it, it stained my clothes from the dark red juice and it put me off wearing it for two years. Well, today I decided I'd wear it as I have chosen to wear red and black. And oh... my... GOD. Absolutely stunning!! I don't know if it's the cold weather or if my nose has adapted, but I have completely changed my mind on this fragrance. It is so elegant with a tart yet sweet rose, and I don't know why but it pulls up almost citrusey on my skin. I'm wearing it at work and it's making me feel so cosy and happy. Please do yourself a favour and buy this if you love Rose scents!

I am officially in love and I would imagine this is what classy upmarket love affair smells like. I can picture myself wearing long red velvet robe and gliding across the polished ballroom floor with a handsome rich man. I am the star of the show and I am untouchable. On the first sniff I get heavy, sweet bulgarian rose oil scent straight away, blended really smoothly with luscious creamy vanilla and buttery toffee. The longevity and projection are pretty good, even just dabbed on. Sure, it is very sweet, but it is intoxicating heavy sweetness, oozing richness and warmth. I am not sure this would work on a hot sunny day but today is a cold, freezing, grey day and it fits the mood superbly. I wish this wasn't so expensive and I really hope one day (soon) I could own this stunner.

Just put this on again for the first time in over a year — it has definitely intensified, though it stil is also soft and elegant. The cinnamon and pink pepper are there in the top, and actually do last well into the mid phase.. but the perfume is so well-balanced and well-blended that some may not notice the individual notes. I am in love with this all over again - I also adore the original Mon Parfum, special edition version. Beautiful and wish it they were not discontinued. To me, Cristal is sort of like someone moved Dior Midnight Poison into the 2020s and made it into a smooth, sophisticated gourmand. Much less projection and more delicate.

I have tried some roses by now, and this is by far the best one for me. It's a beautiful, sweet rose with a touch of gourmand notes but not so much that it becomes edible. And it's not citrusy, watery or ozonic. And it doesn't come with brances and twigs. And it doesn't come with church going ladies either. It's delicate: a little sweet, lightly spicy rose which has a fresh and airy feel to it despite it's gourmand notes. It's so well balanced and a beautiful and in a class of its own. I'd really want it if it wasn't so darn expensive. Love it! <3 edit: tuberose and jasmine is missing in the note line up above, according to Micallefs homepage.

Wow this is stunning! STUNNING! I can’t stop smelling it right now. This smells like a fresh soapy red rose, with a very sweet caramel toffee drizzled over it. Like a thick syrup. And a touch of vanilla gives it such a delicious scent. 🍮🥀🍦 It has an elegant vintage feel, I imagine a princess in the 1950s having this displayed on her dressing table, with an expensive red lipstick placed next to it. Keep in mind this is a fresh soapy rose and not a jammy rose. I also get no cinnamon at all. Over all it’s a very sophisticated, sweet, delicious scent. Also longevity is AMAZING!

I'm glad I gave this a second chance but in Winter. This is a different experience in the Winter time. No traces of tuberose. I still stand by my previous review as tuberose is listed as one of the notes on their official website. Anyway...it's not super sweet or jammy to me, as a matter of fact, I perceive no traces of the toffee or vanilla at all which sucks. It still a sweeter warmer rose though cuz of the amber. I hope that makes sense. Then when it settles its just very bright and fresh. Its just rose, amber and sunshine on my skin. Good buy afterall.

Gorgeous & very delicious jammy sweet rose type of a perfume. It is really attractive scent and gives a sexy vibe. Something gourmand/desserty/cakey about it along with the rose. On my skin, it is a great performer and projects very well. Warm weather for sure. I feel the scent suits a femme fatale but still classy & head turning feminine energy (Imagine Monica Bellucci or Haifa Wehbe). I really love this scent but sample it first still. Edit: Dry down hints a bit at Bond no9 Chinatown, just a little but mon cristal scent I prefer it wayyyyyy better.

It is a beautiful scent. Beautiful from the start and beautiful during wear. It is sweet, deep, alluring and feminine. Toffee and rose, amber and musk. Vanilla. It feels floral rather than gourmand but it is close. The ingredients create a new quality out of the parts. I feel cinnamon, too, though like every note, not obvious. Quite universal. Rich enough for winter and autumn but it is a hot spring day today and it creates a strong and gorgeous aura around me. It is also fit for day and night. Obvious choice for a date, too. Chic and enveloping.

I love this fragrance so glad that I have added it to my collection it is very sweet, and unique to anything else in I have, if I had to compare it to anything that I have it would be Miss Dior (2018), I can pick up on the cinnamon mostly as well as the rose. The longevity on this perfume is amazing. If you like sweet fruity scents with a touch of floral and uniqueness this may be something you'd want to add to your perfume collection. I also don't mind wearing this fragrance to bed it's very soothing to me.

Sweet, softly spiced custard laced with just a swirl of rose syrup. Pink pepper leans fruity here, but not like anything specific. -Maybe- raspberry. Delectable, and thank god, not artificial or cloying at all. Dessert for people who order the creme brulee over Devil's food cake. Perfectly creamy. Comforting as all great gourmands are. btw, the pic here doesn't do the bottle justice! It's beautiful in person, and the lid is a rose gold color.

This is my favourite rose. It has parfumey opening, perhaps a little vintage feeling but later you get sweet, creamy, jammy rose, very cosy but elegant and elevated. Masterpiece! I don't know how anybody would dislike this. The feeling of this is cosy but elevated, transitions are very smooth, and the caramel drydown is out of this world. It's absolute love of mine, top shelf and a lifer. Hope they will bring it back!

Was not expecting to fall in love with this immediately. This is SO warm, cozy, flowery and beautiful. The rose is perfect-not overbearing, and the amber and toffee accord make me want to lick my arm. This is everything I want in a feminine perfume. To me it just screams sensuality and romance. One of my top ten perfumes ever. Micallef has quickly become my favorite Niche house.

Perfume for Valentine's day! But a Valentine's day from the old fairy tales. The color gets dark red brown with time - it matures just like true love :) Dense and romantic, very sweet and syrupy rose. The cinnamon is definitely prominent and truly well-blended, the amber and toffee notes are captivating. So sad that it's been discontinued, I've got a few back ups.

Just no! Some one said it has tuberose. It’s true, though it’s not listed just rose rose tuberose and more tuberose. I actually think I could faint. It is not sweet at all, no vanilla no toffee. It smells exactly like Velvet vanilla by Mancera, and yuck, that was gross to me too. Test it first if you can otherwise if you detest tuberose just stay away.

Almost bought Peregrina by Thameen and thought, where have I smelled this before? Ah, Mon Parfum Cristal! So, if you want to save some coins I say go for this one, although I saw Peregrina on JOMASHOP so.. This one is a little more gourmand and that one is a bit more rosy and spicy and has myrrh (which I don't care for) but they are VERY similar.

To me it smells like a peach/apricot jam with rose petals. Absolutely delicious! It's a tiny bit soapy which makes it even better and stops it from being straight up food scent. Such a beautiful, rich and feminine scent. The longevity and projection are perfect too. Hope they are not discontinuing this beauty and just going to repackage it.

Whether you like this particular perfume or not, I can assure you their customer service is outstanding! You will truly feel special, because they sort out an issue immediately without any stress and send you a replacement bottle from France next day! AMAZING, and I love the perfume too.

This is very sexy and intoxicating. Im obsessed. There is also a jammy rose here. It’s sweet and there is a slight tartness reminiscent of delina. Musky too. Eughhh lovely. It really projects of the skin . Also I smell a bit of jasmine in this although it’s not listed as a note

Love this fragrance. I do get a powdery rose and toffee. It has mild projection on me with about 5 hours longevity. My husband adores this fragrance on me which makes me love it that much more. I hate it’s being discontinued but I have a backup bottle on the way.

This is a subtle masterpiece. It will capture people when you walk past. Watch the heads turns on this one. It's a gourmand sweet Praline fragrance with a hint of Rose. Not a sticky sweet. Your significant other will love this.

The only fb worthy from Micallef samples that I've tried. It is warm and sweet and clear(as the 'cristal'in the name) I find it very seductive. I love to smell it and smell like it especially in winter.

Shockingly strong pink/orange color (watch out for risk of staining clothes!) This is a gorgeous scent, very warm and sensual, complex but very pleasant and wearable, too. Very good longevity.

Lovely, silky rose petals , soft musk, hint of toffee ..blending with my skin smells like rose lokum! Gourmand,very comforting and mood uplifting, always have backup bottle of this <3

This is such a beautiful gourmand rose with plenty of sensual amber and musk in the base. This is a wonderful feminine fragrance that every rose lover should try.

People are going to want to smack me for this, but it reminds me of Jessica Simpson Fancy. Don't get me wrong, I would MUCH rather have this frag, and I am anxiously awaiting the day when I can finally buy a full bottle. But especially at first spray, very reminiscent of Fancy. It doesn't have the horrible rancid fruit smell that Fancy does, thank god, but the sweet, vanilla/caramelly heavy smell along with a bit of fruit is there. The pink berries note isn't listed here but my sample card had the note pyramid and pink berries is one of the top notes, it doesn't last very long but it is quite prevalent for the first 3-5 minutes. I am REALLY not a fan of rose but this is the first perfume I have ever loved that has rose in the notes. It is definitely there throughout, but it is very light and it keeps it from being TOO over the top sweet, in my opinion. For the most part, this is a syrupy-sweet frag with a bit of rose to tone it down and make sure it isn't too young, I really feel like this is perfectly blended. Like I said, I am going to shell out the [probably] $225 to buy this for sure, I check luckyscent every day waiting for it to arrive :) If you like gourmands, you will most likely like this. Oh, and the scent lasts hours, which is beyond a miracle for me... one spray on top of my hand lasted me practically 8 hours. To put the awesomeness in perspective for you, most perfumes last 2-4 hours on me, and I spray 5-7 sprays. You want this perfume.

Rose lovers or those who love the scent of a rose, but rose notes in perfume can be tricky -- this is one to try. Incredibly well made, beautiful rose dominant scent. The rose is strong but it is fresh, dewy, smooth and pleasing. It is perfectly balanced with a nice vanilla and sweetness that is gorgeous and at the same time almost subdued and easy to wear. I notice the pink pepper and cinnamon in it almost equally which stuck around for the almost the whole day. They sit in the background and are not too much. Kind of just at the sidelines supporting the heart of the scent. The musk is definitely noticeable. The musk w/ the vanilla and rose gives the fragrance a sort of Mancera does rose notes feel. The toffee and amber based adds a sweetness to it but it is not sticky sweet or too foody gourmand. The top notes and the rose stuck with me for a long long time - 10 hours easy. It took HOURS to just smell a base of vanilla amber sweet at the end, the next day I could still smell it vaguely. The sent is amazingly strong in terms of longevity and quite a bit of sillage, yet is not too over powering or cloying.

What I notice in this perfume is a heart of rose, amber and caramel filtered by different layers that follow each other over time. The first layer, the opening, sees a strong dose of pungent and acidic pink berries and a strong cinnamon, hot and spicy, in a game between hot and cold. The acid component is strong. Then there is a strong amber but above all musky component, which makes the fragrance almost dusty, with a vintage touch. This is the time when I feel hints of tuberose. After the first 45 minutes, everything changes. The note of sweet, caramelized, amber, musky rose emerges. All the filters disappear, and rose remains, queen of the fragrance. I love fragrances taking you on a journey and shapeshifting. This is one of them. It is not a sweet-gourmand, sickly sweet scent. It is a sweet and warm rose. When I see online reviews I don't understand if we are talking about the same perfume. Many speak of gourmand notes, an extremely sweet perfume, a simple pink-vanilla composition.

I know this is crazy but Mon Parfum Cristal is giving me Marc Jacobs Decadence vibes. It is like a rose version of MJ Decadence. The opening is sparkling, light sweet rose and then the dry down gets plummy, a bit sourish on me just like MJ D. I am not blown away but it is nice and will appeal to those who like their roses sweet like candy, not fresh roses like Paul Smith Rose or Jo Malone Red Roses. I have a 30ml and I think that it is more than enough to satisfy sweet cravings. Edit: After a couple of wearing, the longevity is great. However, it dries down sour and it gave me a headache. It has gone to a friend who will appreciate it better than me.

First spray I was saying NO... Something tart that is just off... Give it a minute... Sweetens. Definitely ROSE dominant scent. Gourmand rose that lies in a bed of vanilla and sweet amber. toffee? kinda. Subtle note of pink pepper and cinnamon enter into the dry down. This is not candy or foody to me. But it is a sweet lovely rose gourmand. Very lovely. First time I wore this I pulled a lot more of pink pepper/cinnamon spice....this is the second time testing this scent from dabber vial.

This is very pretty and a nice take on rose that is not soapy or stingy. It is powdery and sweet from the toffee. Too bad that the bottle is so cheap-looking, it doesn't do justice to the liquid inside. Lasting power and sillage are great for the price so a few sprays go a long way. I prefer wearing this on my skin rather than on clothes, that way I don't find it too sweet on my own nose through the day.

On first sampling, I was surprised at how much I liked this. To my nose it presents as a supercharged shampoo scent pumped with sweetness and rose. I don’t get the vintage vibes a lot of reviews have mentioned, rather a youthful but high class vibe. On second sampling, I do still like it but find it overly strong and sweet. Not something I see myself wearing but still a beauty.

This is marvelously sweet and jammy! I love this rendition of a rose! I wish it lasted a little longer on my skin but I’ll always treasure this one as the scent is so beautiful. As for the look of that bottle, what’s not to like? This is perfect in Winter or the cold months of the year! Full Bottle worthy and enjoying it immensely!!

It's like everyone described below, bright fruity, sweet, floralish and long lasting on me. However I do have add that this has a thick syrup like texture with the fruit, sugar, florals all together linearly for about five hours. I would have preferred to have more expression or variety in the base.

I did not expect it to smell as vintage as it does. I was expecting a sweet jammy vanilla rose. I still like it though, waiting for the colder months to use it again. It’s good, just not what I expected hehe

This is a fruity rose with a jammy touch to it. Feminine, sweet, uplifting.
