Mon Parfum Pearl

I love this. It’s blended together beautifully. Even though the notes are something you might see on any perfume nowadays, this is NOT the average smell of walking into the perfume department of a store where they all sort of mish-mash together. It is much more refined and classy than that. Mostly I get the soft rose, a little powder (I do not like over-powdery perfume), orange, some berryish scent and musk, but as I said, it's blended expertly so no one note takes precedence over another. The notes listed from the Micallef sample I received are: Rosebud, tangerine, black currant, heliotrope, centifolia rose, peony, rice powder, white musk and vanilla bean. I would love to own a full bottle!

Such a feminine and pretty fragrance. I feel like this is under hyped compared to the other Micallef perfumes and it definitely deserves more recognition. It’s a really powdery, sweet, creamy, well rounded floral combination.🧴🌸🥛 It’s VERY powdery so keep that in mind, you have to enjoy powdery fragrances to appreciate this one. To me, I imagine if a pink plush powder puff used for makeup had a smell, it would smell like Mon parfum pearl. Also the bottle is GORGEOUS and this has GREAT longevity and sillage.

Such a darling of a perfume that I treasure like the pearl that it is. The bottle couldn’t have been more precious—I love it so much. It’s soft and elegant, powdery yet refined, and ultimately comforting. It’s an ethereal and feminine petal hug combined with the soothing nature of rice. One of my go-to bedtime scents. If I ever I get married, this could potentially be my fragrance.

Slightly anonymous fruit smoothie; classically French stuff with velvety-gentle transitions between notes and phases. Not really my territory - all a bit girlish and light-pink-y for me - but somehow not all that inspiring or surprising anyway... it all slightly melts into a rather generic, if still luxe, vague fug of delicate lotion-y sweetness. Sweet and mild overall, though to its credit it doesn't cloy or shriek - everything's well under control. Smell of an upmarket but characterless hotel's bathroom freebies? Totally inoffensive, could be worn anywhere or to anything, with discreet to modest projection and performance to match its pretty discreet ambition. Very femme in my view, but wear whatever you like. The later musk-powder-vanilla phase is the one I enjoy most ... and my official sample card from Micallef claims the powdery note at the bottom is "rice powder", which would make sense because it's oddly toasty and authentic and warm compared to the rest of the scent, on my nose at least. Competent and classy, but for me - it's just a meh. Lovers of specifically powdery florals may adore it though.

I decided to buy this blind, as I like rose, heliotrope, orange, musk and powdery perfumes. I don't pick up much vanilla (which is another scent I like). Thankfully, I like it, though I wouldn't say I love it. It reminds me of a scent I used years and years ago – possibly LouLou?? The bottle is lovely and I think it will be a nice, soft scent for daytime wear, especially in the spring and summer.
