Initial notes: Grapefruit; lemon pith, rather than rind – but not bitter; dried wakame; very intriguing sea breeze Mid: Myrtle comes through quickly; there are some more floral scents added to the initial notes that could well be marigold (calendula, that is). Base: The base of this fragrance is rather stable and discreet. I get a little bit of sandalwood, which in this context reminds me of a cologne from Truefitt & Hill that I once had. But generally there is little woodiness. Performance: Not a great sillage, which is perfect for me – ideal in fact – whereas other state different desires. In my view, at any rate, a scent like this with floral notes and sea notes would quickly become nauseating for people in the same room. Projection is easy to control, so I find this to be a well thought out composition with a performance that suits the concept perfectly. Value: Retail is anything between €120 and 300, so look out for good offers. €120 for 100ml niche perfume in a stunning bottle with such an elaborated design is nothing but great value. Occasions: Certainly any summer's day, autumn and spring. There is also an elegance and a smoothness to it making it very versatile, so you will not offend anyone at any time of the day or of the year. If skin chemistry is an issue, you can safely wear it on a date night, because if your date don't like it and you do, you don't have chemistry anyway... Meta: I certainly think this bottle lives up to the hype as an oceanic breeze "on the rocks". It is a bit like the rugged parts of the Atlantic coast in, say La Rochelle, down to northwestern Spain and the Portuguese coast as the first autumn winds touches you ever so gently on a hot day in early September – long before autumn itself arrives, that is. Thoughts: I can imagine skin chemistry counts for something here. I do smell an ever so small hint of sourness that I just love myself, but try before you buy. Rubberiness is simply rubbish in my world – on the contrary I find this oddly naturalistic. I have not ever, between 1985 and 2023, scented an "aquatic" that I liked, when I tried AdPs Mirto di Panarea and Osaïto. While Mirto is in sum way too feminine for me, I do miss its macquis notes. If Osaïto had just a touch more earthiness/savoury Mediterranean herbs I could never had asked for more. The salinity/oceanic notes in the mid are very reminiscent of Heeley's Sel Marin, but Osaïto is more complex. It is not at all a "cologne", at least not in the classical terms (apart from that idiosyncratic T&H mentioned above). Although there is some citrus involved, that does not make it one.

OMG! What a gorgeous, warm, oceanic, soft floral scent is this underrated fragrance from M Micallef! For me, Osaito represents bottling of Mediterranean waters combined with some moderately sweet, warm flowers and a bit of citrus plus a creamy wood! It’s beautiful and soft and subtle but smells great! And I would love to wear this, as a woman. Don’t get why exactly it’s marketed as a masculine fragrance??? Do I love Osaito enough to buy for FRP? Not really!! As much as I adore the scent, the performance is lacking big time (testing Osaito from a 2 ml Micallef sample) and the price is steep... Do I recommend it wholeheartedly to anyone who loves marine/aquatic, freshies, soft florals, creamy woods and has unlimited budget to purchase a bottle? Absolutely yes! Just keep in mind it’s a lighter, delicate fragrance that smells very natural. If that’s something you’re ok with, go and test Osaito. It’s amazing... I will wait for a decent price to snatch a bottle. It reminds me of Salina by Laboratorio Olfattivo, but a elevated version of that! And I adore these type of scents.

I don ́t see the comparisons with soleil blanc, cause this doesn ́t have coconut in the notes, they don ́t smell like anything similar or a bit at all. If you want to have a better reference of a similar fragrance, bvulgari ́s aqua marine, but it ́s not the same, it ́s just a closer reference, in the other hand if you want something that reminds you the closets to osaito, it ́s from the same house, ruh zadeh, I have never smelled something like this, it ́s pretty peculiar, smells really pleasant and different, acuatic with flowers and some of seaweed in the background, unfortunately the longevity is not long lasting and sillage is strong in the first hour, so I can tell this is more an skin scent which is a kind of disappointing because the smell is so nice that you would like this could be louder and a beast mode, but anyways, it ́s really pleasant for sure.

One of the finer aquatics. Osaito captures the salty ocean air breeze while walking amongst a sandy trail, sand between your toes, enjoying the luscious warm sun, as you embark through the Southern Pacific or the Mediterranean Sea. The florals are exceptional, simply reminding you of a coastal garden and flower trees that encircle you while not overpowering your senses. A gorgeous fragrance from top to bottom, refined, elegant, and comforting. Though it can strike you as a summer scent, this gem could be worn all year round. The airy, breezy sandalwood shines beautifully in the fall. A beauty. Smells nothing at all like Millisime Imperial.

Can't more enthusiastically agree with both statements of the reviewer below me! It absolutely IS a better version of Creed's MI, and with better longevity too! And if Osaito full retail price isn't much less than MI, at discount online sellers Micallef's products appears with bigger discounts than Creed's, so you should be able to find it at about half price of discounted MI. I found it at $95, while same retailer price tag for MI was $170. And yes, I'm one of those marine/aquatic scents haters who love this masterpiece!

Osaïto is a very nice surprise for me. I really like it. This is perfect for daytime wear in late Spring and Summer. This is definitely a freshie, but with an amazing dry down and longevity, on my skin, the mix of sea notes, citrus and woodsy notes lasts >6h. There's a moderate sillage for the first hour, and then, it creates a nice close personal bubble (not really a skin scent). To my nose this smells unisex, but leaning masculine. Very elegant too.

Regarding the comparison below to MI -- for me, unfortunately, I get an almost nauseating rotten melon accord from MI, although the rest of the fragrance is great. Importantly, I get no such accord from Osaito, which is an incredibly well done floral aquatic... perhaps my new favorite. And like MI, it's complex and high quality enough that it will appeal even to those who don't like (typical designer) aquatics.

Ooo, I really like this one actually. It's very addictive and it has a summery, marine smell without being a cliché salty sea water scent. It has a unique vibe with the addition of the soft flowers. Almost gives a soft sea breeze with an addictive musky and creamy wood undertone. Lasts and projects a decent amount. Perfect for many situations including the office. Underatted from the brand. 8/10.

I prefer this over Creed's Millesime Imperial they are both similar scents. This is an aquatic/salty/floral scent, i really enjoy wearing this in summer and i actually got a couple of compliments from it. Decent longevity/projection for a freshie. 8/10

This fragrance represents me like no other. I can’t explain why and how, nor will I get into long boring review. It resembles my connection to the ocean and that is already more than what any other fragrance does for me.

creed imperial millesime for me it's done better , at first it felt like mix with GIT but after the nice opening the ( heart-base ) it is the same as the above mentioned scent not an expert just only what i felt enjoy !

Remember that how it performs on YOUR skin can be very different than what ANY reviewer says. On MY skin it lasts well over 12 hours and is projecting moderately the entire time. Smells great, like a floral ocean.

Aquatic fragrance done right. Superbly blended fragrance - Salty, Woody, Aquatic with a hint of green citrus and sweetness. Wearable, not boring at all, smells high quality. Bottle is absolutely stunning.

Testing it because of the comparisons to Millisme Imperial and Mirto Di Panarea which I love, but it's not super similar to either. The myrtle is not strong here like in MDP, and it doesn't have the salty sparkle of MI, although the potency is on par with MI, and the general vibe is in that ballpark. I love marine frags, the more hardcore the better like Phtaloblue, Atlante, Blasted Health and also less hardcore ones like Jones Beach, Sel Marin, Erolfa, Oud Minerale, Akrigas, etc. This falls into realm into a lighter category with something along the lines of Sailing Day, ADG, or Sidney Rock Pool (without any coconut).The difference is that this feels a bit more elegant, like if Chanel was to make a marine fragrance, it would smell like this. I find it very smooth with pronounced marigold (which works well and smells great) and myrtle in the background very gently. A very small amount of tame, minimally salty sea notes in the top and mid. The whole thing is rounded out with musk and an silky smooth sandalwood. It has a slight shampoo vibe once it becomes a skin scent. It's nice, and you could pull it off at an upscale event which is atypical of marine frags. My major issue is the performance. This is a skin scent right from jump street and projection is almost none existent. It COMPLETELY disappears from my skin after only an hour and a half. Longevity isn't a deal breaker for me, but terrible projection is. I don't need everyone in the room to smell it, but I need to be able to smell it. Nice scent, but not nice enough for me to suggest anyone buy a full bottle of it. If you can find it for 40-50 bucks, and don't mind refreshing every hour or two, it does smell good when you can smell it. Scent 7.5/10 Performance 1.5/10

Osatio is closer to Bois 1920 Verde di Mare than to Creed Millésime Impérial or to Bois 1920 Oltremare which feels completelly different scent from Osatio. They have exactly the same structure with different notes. The smell of Verde di Mare is similar with some differences. Osatio feels more casual-versatile, it has more citruses at the opening, its florals feel resinous and green/herbal and not so flowery and feels more masculine while Verde di Mare feels more sporty-vivid, it's smoother at the opening and has more flowery-florals and stronger watery note, definitely unisex. Neither is traditional masculine scent though. I get beautiful citruses at the opening along with a wave of fresh sea water. The citruses (dominant lemon) become stronger and after some minutes hit the florals. Marigold is the new boss. At this point I get a green/herbal note and a faint soapy vibe. Myrtle is here and gains equall power with marigold. Sea water, marigold & myrtle are the dominant notes. The grapefruit becomes noticeable but the lemon still exists. At this point Osatio feels smoother than the Verde di Mare. At the late dry down the amber becomes noticeable but it's very mild. And only then I get the similarity with MI. The best part of Osatio is the dry down. Sillage/projection are both moderate. Longevity seems to be above the average, I'm still evaluating it. I'll update with info the next days.

Unfortunately didn't work for me, though it's well put together. Sadly the citrus/marine mix turned on my (female) skin to the really harsh sour side of lemon + cleaning products, so try before you buy. This stuff is not cheap and in my view there are better goes at grapefruit and other fruits for the money - and nicer marines too. As (nearly) always with the citrus, you do get a decent, detailed, detectable scent of real fruit with this one at first but the nuances burn off much too fast, to leave just an unspecific chemical citrus tang. However, on the plus side, it manages the awkward transition from citrus to woodier stuff with some poise (making me think of a surfer dominating a wave with tricky undertow - it just speeds past the pitfalls and moves on.) Cheapish musk, though, the kind which (again) on me turns to detergent when there's too much citrus still hanging about. May work on the right skin for someone seeking a pretty strongly-performing lemon-sharp smack in the chops on hot days.

Take a trip to the Pacific with the beautifully composed aquatic Osaito. Inspired by the scenery of French Polynesia the perfume from the woefully underrated Micallef house is a one of a kind island beauty. The perfume opens with ozonic notes, grapefruit and citrus. There is a brief heart where one can detect myrtle and marigold before the perfume settles into a dense powdery woody base of cedar, amber, sandalwood and musk. The perfume is unisex (slightly masculine leaning) with strong projection, sillage and very good longevity. Beautifully blended, this is true perfume artistry compared to the overhyped and rather pedestrian aquatic niches people falling over each other in drones to blind buy because of glamorous online reviewers. Here is a daring, evocative aquatic that really takes you to a seaside place and time that is truly exotic. Enjoy!

A humid aquatic, not a breezy one. It has some weight to it on skin that makes it feel more like a cozy bubble of cleanliness, and not a light effervescent freshness. It’s a daytime, spring/summer wear, but I wouldn’t call it a freshie. It’s more like a clean but warm breeze, not a crisp cooling one. Very nice, but not challenging or intrusive in a way that makes it stand out. It has good longevity, and all around is more interesting than GnTonic by the same house. I have both and I have tried nothing that smells in the same space as Osaito but a few that are in the same space as GnTonic.

This is just so well done. Lightly salty aquatic, light minerality, clean soapy freshness, and a touch of wood. A beautiful and easy fragrance to wear. Calming and casual, and it doesn't scream "cologne". The main drawback is the price. Other than that, I feel like I need to go heavy on the sprayer to get the scent level that I want. Edit: downgrading from a love to a like due the need to overspray for performance and lackluster longevity. I went through a 5 ML travel spray before I even got to the evening.

This smells fantastic....for about 1 hour, then it turns into a faint floral skin scent. It reminds me of the old gap perfume "heaven" and dries down to a wulong cha type floral scent, but again very light. This is way overpriced for it's longevity, which is a shame because it is a nice airy, semi aquatic scent. I think as far as gender, it's unisex with a slight feminine lean. Rated it a like just based off of the opening, too bad it's performance is atrocious.

Calming and serene feeling. Natural and well balanced scent. Just the right amount of floral note for me, perhaps because the other notes harmonize. I wish it projected a little more and lasted longer; would be a good candidate for a L'Intense version. Wearing it as a springtime casual fragrance, layered on top of Escentric Molecules M02 (ambroxan), which seems to help with the above and also brings out the marine aspect a little more.

A very soapy floral fresh out of the shower smell. Nothing to write home about honestly. It gives me the same vibes as Nishane's Ege, but with sharper citric notes. Just soapy. You won't be missing much by skipping this one. Good longevity, OK smell.

I have Nishane Ege and this smells as if you took that fragrance and turned the volume from 10 to 5, which is perfect, because Ege is a nuclear fragrance. I've been looking for this smell for years and I'm glad to have it in Osaito.

This says for men (yes i know perfume has no gender) but really similar to my mum's freshies. it's a longlasting freshie for sure. Leaning unisex so everyone can wear it!!

I have been trying for years to figure out what this smells like and I finally figured it out. It smells like nasal spray. Just like some good old afrin. I like it.

A nice salty aquatic. I detect higher quality materials, accurate for the price tag. I do sort of get a niche Nautica Voyage vibe from this. I can see where this might be a hit for the right person, but to me it is underwhelming. I prefer Bvlgari Aqva Marine, for half the price! It's a 5.5 out of 10 for me.

This one is hard to recommend for me, especially for the price. It's not a bad scent, but it's nothing special at all. It honestly smells almost identical to CK Be with just slightly better performance, which is not saying much. Reminiscent of sunscreen. Nothing repulsive or off-putting, just bland.

To my nose, this is a niche mix between Nautica Voyage and Versace Man eau Fraiche. Very very fresh, really reminds me of the sea, but not in that fishy seaweedy kind of way... In a nice refreshing salty way.

Aquatic isn’t a genre I’m into, but this is inoffensively fine. It’s nice but it’s like a light splash cologne. It reminds me of the green aquatic accords of Amouage’s ‘Reflection’.

Purchased sample from manufacturer. Worn three days consecutively. In summary: at best, with primer, it was an intimate light floral musk giving skin scent for 4 hours. VERY light fragrance. I could find it immediately after application only by holding nose to wrist. At that point was lightly musky and weakly floral. 20 minutes later in car to work it was gone. The second day I over-applied and still... basically nothing. During my initial two day trial never once caught the scent. Truly, no notes. Disappointing. I do like other fragrances from this perfumer but I can’t recall experiencing this kind of disappearing act in over 200 fragrances sampled. Update: Tried it one more time with my new Future Society primer. No change in projection or silage, which again is minimal/non-existent. Could find it as a skin scent this time for about 4 hours, a light and pleasant floral musk.

Hmmmm.....when I was younger I adored clean, cool, marine fragrances (Aqua di Gio, Davidoff Coolwater, Nautica, etc) and Osaito smells very nice, balanced, and definitely is well executed but it's just not for me. After reading the reviews, I sprayed Creed MI and Osaito on each wrist and they really are almost identical. Osaifo definitely is less green a little more floral and slightly more woody than MI. MI is a bit greener citrus, and is a cooler fragrance. I could see fans of crisp marine fragrances enjoying both of these but they are just not for me and feel a bit "young" and sporty (and I'm only 33) both good fragrances though if you're looking for a fresh summer fragrance or something to wear casually to the gym or at the beach. It definitely has its place, just not in my collection.

I have wanted to try this for a long time, some of the descriptions I'd heard a couple of years ago just made me think I'd love it. I was surprised. I have it on my hand now and the opening smells strongly like those tablets in urinals. Now, I know there is more to it than that, but this is the very definition of the opening, end of. It's not a good thing (surprise). Performance is good but this is certainly not for me, no way I would wear it. After the opening, it morphs from urinal cakes to a delivery very much like Creed's MI, almost like it could be flanker. For what it's worth I don't like MI at all though, so this is simply a thumbs down for me. If my mind changes, I'll edit this, but I can't see it happening.

When I first read about Ossiti I decided this would be a great addition and pulled a blind buy. I really screwed the pooch on this one unfortunately. I found the scent itself quite pleasant and enjoyable, very nonoffensive. The problem with this for me is the fact that immediately after spraying this on and putting the bottle down it was gone. It literally lasted less than two minutes. I thought it was just me, so I had my husband try it as well. He got about ten. A disappointment for sure but a major waste of money

Very weak flora skin scent. I totally agree with the reviewer below me. The price you pay for this is kinda ridiculous. After 6 sprays me and my fiance barely smell anything. A slight hint of marigold and that's about it, so I can't say anything more than that. Luckily I only just purchased a 3ml sample.

Soapy and floral notes are dominant and prevent me from enjoying this fragnance, as its overly feminine to me. Mineral and citrus notes are there too, but a bit hidden. No way I would call it an aquatic scent. Quality of ingredients is good, longevity is poor. Overall - a big disappointment.

This compared to Acqua di Sale smells like a cheap toilet air-freshener. It also doesn't have anything from this Profumum Roma's salty, seawoody character.

Strong opening, aromatic marine with the sweet citrus, strong. Total summer spring perfume gave it a go in the wet 2°C, 35°F superfog. Perfect tone down, of course, loses a bit of the fresh spicy and pushes outright elegance forward. Right in the middle unisex, got the tame, got the rare to it. Not familiar with the Marigold and Myrtie notes yet but as a floral element in this it's a straight up unthinkable movie with the cheerful positive. Shifts somber amber musk after citrus dissipates, and 40 mins in and onward actually brings out the florals and warms up more and more with the woods.

Definitely a solid release. Very similar to MI, fresher take but as the fragrance goes on it smells more like MI and a stronger version of it. The salt note is strong for me and I love it. For the price this was a no brainer buy if you love aquatics/MI. I say the only thing missing is the ambergris which added in MI this humid climate feeling but in this version it’s like after a thunderstorm when the humidity is now gone with a cool front coming in. This is an improvement to MI granted I think MI has more of a melon note if you’re specifically looking for that.

I get the comparison to imperial by creed. This scent was my first niche i ever bought back in 06'. That variation of that scent is very much like osaito, which is still one of my favorite. Unfortunately, the newer versions of imperial is not great to me, didn't realize this until I bought the whole bottle direct from creed. It almost seems stale to me. What sucks is now i feel i can't get this because they are in the same family. But I may anyways because I like it that much. It's clean and great for something like a cruise.

Smells in the same ball park as Nishane ege, azzaro chrome, meteore, ck one but the sweet amber in it is beautiful and airy and sets it apart from all of the others. It’s not salty at all or crazy oceanic. Just a beautiful mix of florals and freshness. The longevity is great and performance isn’t as bad as people say! Smells nothing like MI to me. Really pleasant and easy to wear. I just absolutely love the sweet drydown.

This is a maritime jewel. I am not fond of aquatics and marine scents. But Osaito is different from the pack: not extremely aquatic nor marine. It's so pleasant. It's like you are in a pristine oceanic lagoon protected from the sea, with very light marine remembrance and the water is salted just perfectly. It's a joy.

Scent - a mild mannered musky marine scent. Season/Time of Day - I prefer to use this one in the warmer months, during the day. Projection - I didn't get noticed, I didn't get a compliment. Longevity - I get 12hrs consistently.

Nice, leans towards the synthetic. Very pricy for a full bottle (more expensive than Creed releases). Hard to pick out specific notes, there is fruitiness in there with some balsamic, aquatic notes.

Think Ege, MI, Erolfa (less of this one), similar aquatic fruity DNA but make it floral, yet Osaito doesn’t smell feminine, If anything 100% unisex. Performance is alright.

Smells great. Too bad performance is a bit weak. If found with a good discount it is still worth the purchase for hot summer days.
