Spicy for Him

Spicy for Him is another gem from Micallef house with excellent performance suitable for cool weather, fall, winter and spring, day and night. It feels deep and thick, rich scent. Definitely the note pyramid is wrong because I get a huge but delicate cinnamon note which is one of the dominant notes of Spicy for Him. And it doesn't feel old or dated or old school as some reviewers say here. It's a classic and manly scent. It opens with lemon, tiny faint traces of rose (it looks like similar to the rose which is used by the Bond No9 house, same vibe with Bond No 9 Bond No. 9 Perfume but much toned down) which live quite long and dominant resins followed by strong artemisia and very mild fir. After that I get a mild lavender with a tiny soapy feeling. At this point is starting to emerge the strong cinnamon note with a smoky quality and the rose at the background is in its peak and starts to fade away. It feels that there's something incensy in the blend also at the background. The nutmeg is noticeable and starts to radiates a beautiful warm amber blend which blends perfectly with the dominant resins and the well balanced cinnamon. The lavender gives to the blend a herbal freshness avoiding to become a heavy resin/amber scent which could be quite cloying. The dusty/earthy patchouli lives at the background embracing the rest ingredients. The musk is mild and the moss makes its presence more noticeable at the late dry down. It feels that I've smelled this before but nothing comes to my mind. The vibe is familiar but not the whole blend as a fragrance. There is a common element in its spiceness with the G. Nejman Le Seducteur btw but these scents are not similar to each other. The opening is pungent, in your face. It radiates almost 1 meter around you. As time passes it settles down to a nice moderate but above the average scent in terms of projection. The sillage is moderate. Spicy fro Him is a long lasting scent. That being said, I'll hunt down a back up bottle.. good stuff.

MODERN OLD SCHOOL MANLY FOUGERE VIBES This is my favorite man-manly perfume and it's off course discontinued :-/ I absolutely adore it - It pleasant, manly in an 60's/70's/80's way, but also slightly modern - What it's not is old school in a way so it can overpower a last century smoke-filled room, and I really like that. It's not overpowering, but it's definitely strong enough. A masculine Oriental fougere like none other, this was my introduction to the wonderful and woefully underrated house of Micallef when my mom selected it for me in Dubai duty free several years ago. Since then there always has been a bottle in my collection. The perfume opens with notes of lemon, lavender and artemisia. As it begins settling, notes of patchouli, fir and nutmeg ( that gives it its name - very prominent) are revealed. On complete drydown, notes of oakmoss, amber and musk are revealed. This one is for guys with very bold personalities. Tremendous sillage, projection and longevity. Beautiful blending. Absolutely stunning and gorgeous. Moms always know best. Enjoy!

Spicy for Him succeeds to be austere and mature but also a modern fougere. The similarity to Ted Lapidus is valid. I would consider Spicy for Him is a contemporary re-boot of Ted Lapidus' version. It reminds me of Dior's Eau Sauvage EDP although they smell different. The beginning is green and fresh, with a splendid soapy resinous heart and a warm earthy ending. I tend to wear Spicy for Him for daytime meetings and Eau Sauvage EDP is for the evenings. Spicy for Him is my favourite work scents. A solid performer and another excellent creation by M Micallef. 9/10

Got to be honest I picked up a 50ml tester of this for virtually nothing with the view that if it’s garbage it can go in the bin. Today I’m wearing it and to be honest this is actually nice, don’t get me wrong there is nothing groundbreaking the opening of the lemon and lavender is really well done with the lavender quite subtle, as it’s drying down I’m starting to get patchouli and musk. All I’ll say is if you can get a bottle for peanuts then dive in if you want a masculine, safe fragrance for the office.

This is a strong scent(dark) but beautifully done.Bolt in the opening and settles to a mature scent after a few hours,not for the younger crowd IMO.Gets you complements and it has a mature men vibe to it.One might say barbershop, but I prefer mature gentlemen scent... niche quality all over 10/10....

Feeling Spicy, something known immediately came to mind, but what? Yes, I have felt it, but Spicy is more educated, elegant! Oh yes, Lapidus Pour Homme !!!!!!

Yankee Candle shop at Christmas time - this is how its opening and first 2 hours smell like. And I don't mean it in neither negative nor positive way, simply stating a fact. I found it unusual and pleasant, but I don't think it will be undisputed pleaser for everyone. So I wouldn't put it in safe blind buy category. Little bit disappointed with its performance. Yes, it would be great for designer frag, for niche, and compared to most of other perfumes of this house it simply not the best. It lasts about 9-10 hours on my skin, but projects well only first 4 hours and after that very quick becomes skin scent.

The negative reviews of certain niche fragrances remind me of the fable of the fox and the grapes, however, "Spicy for him" is simply sensational. A slight opening of lemon on my skin gives immediately space to a symphony of nutmeg, resin, fir balsam and oak moss. It is a very refined and very masculine fragrance with an exceptional long life. The only flaw is that there is only the 50 ml bottle.

I like it! I get lots of soft cinnamon and gingerbread. Is this a gourmand?

Lots of dark green fir in the opening together with zesty lemon and a hint of sweet artemisia. Then the nutmeg becomes strong, together with amber and some patchouli. There is a sharp sting underneath. The drydown is very green and earthy with a bit of lavender and artemisia. I also sense some ambroxan. Very balmy and ambery. Sillage is moderate to heavy, longevity not sure, scrubbed it off-- this one's not for me. This one is definitely not unisex like some other Micallef scents that are listed for men. Usually I like greens with artemisia, but this one is not for me. Wayyyy too strong, makes me cough. Will give this sample to a man that can pull it off. It is a very complex scent and very well done.

generic amber scent nothing special and it available in 50 ml and it too expensive .

Gorgeous oriental fougere made with top ingredients. The start is zesty and spicy with a crystalline transparency that you only get in your childhood days. The heart comes up about 30 minutes later and is soothing, masculine, warm and very comforting; the cinnamon and patchouli will keep you interested and caressed for a good 4 hours; the drydown envelopes you in a cloud of moss, amber and musk with no unwanted sweetness. The longevity and sillage are really good. This has been a great discovery for me and shall wear it on those special days of the year when the need arises... Double Thumbs up!!!

So happy that I discovered this beauty whilst browsing the niche counters at my local department store, it is now top of my wish list and I shall be acquiring a bottle in the new year. Classical in composition; citrus, spice, amber, musk etc. but very rich and beautiful in structure, well blended with high quality ingredients; seemingly simplistic yet very complex, long lasting and evolving over time. Very classy and elegant, smells clean, rich and expensive. I can't wait to own a 50ml bottle. Gorgeous!

Opening and heart notes nothing special and not Bad as well dry down is nice but who wants To wait 2 hours to get the best of this frag I love Micallef perfumes but this one and Akowa ( the new frag ) are quality but nothing Special 100 dollar for 50 ml I can get a 100 ml With Better opening till the dry down Disappointment

it smells very nice when it dries down. I think it one of the few perfume that smells better after it dries down. It start with a spicy patouchli peppery smell and then after awhile it become soft soothing powerdy smell.

hi I tried this fragrance It is very beautiful and smelled strange, strong and fragrant remains 6 hours on my skin and 12 on my clothes Give a chance to advice perfume preferably used in cold climates

Can definitely detect the similarities to LPH, but without the cloying pineapple note. This stuff is spicy alright and it has great longevity. The drydown about an hour in is terrific.

It's a rustic Turkish fragrance! It's starts as Lapidus Pour Homme and getting heavier, stronger, spicier, darker, dated. Very mature and Beast mode sillage.

An elevated more elegant and niche version of Ted Lapidus pour homme . I adore its classiness and presence . It literally represent its name .
