GORGEOUS! It’s funny how some of the men’s fashions of the 1980s such as the ‘mullet’ haircut with, or without, ‘Magnum P.I.’ moustache; white socks, and latterly, those generous ‘MC Hammer’ baggy pants, exist now as comical, retro, museum pieces of sorts that, whilst iconic, might constitute a wanton case of ‘bad choice’ if sported on a first date today unless, perhaps, you are Joe Dirt. I say ‘funny’, ironically, as parallel to the wonderful costume charades of the 80s was the emergence of some of the most remarkable, sumptuous, and important ‘masculines’ in perfume’s history that still stand head-and-shoulders above most recent fragrances. The list is endless here, though whether the creation was an ‘aromatic fougere’ or a ‘leather-chypre’, nearly all were characterised with the sort of pugilistic structure and impact associated with Mike Tyson! So it is with ‘Style’: a gorgeous, exquisitely made, ‘woody/leather/oriental’ creation that transported me back to the 1980s: an experience I savoured as if witnessing a 5-star, 2012 revival of a David Mamet play: the language and structure most certainly of its time, but still hugely relevant; gripping, enjoyable, and somehow uplifting. Stylistically, I was immediately reminded me of that seductive smoky, leathery, tarry chord so dominant in Trussardi’s definitive, vintage, ‘Uomo’. However, ‘Style’ manages to give new life to the former Italian operatic chypre theme by adding a sweeter, sandalwood element that forced me to consider the perfume as an outcome in which the trajectory of Oscar de la Renta’s, robust, ‘Pour Lui’, describes a collision course towards Guerlain’s masterly, ‘Heritage’. However, rather than result in scattered chemical wreckage, ‘Style’ instead emerges as a creation of meticulous, highest quality craftsmanship and serenades its luscious warm opening accord with all the opulence and elegance associated with confidently swaggering along Piccadilly towards a night out at The Ritz. Its crowning achievement, however, is its capacity to soften during the dry-down thus allowing its delectable gentle inner muskiness to unfold. So, Joe Dirt notwithstanding, whilst forms of 1980s raiment should perhaps be reserved for purposes of fancy-dress, 'Style' in this author's estimation might constitute the perfect accompaniment for those posh Black Tie events and thoroughly recommended for first dates! One of the very best from this magnificent house. 8-10

This is what Tom Ford for Men wants to be. Style is a very classic men’s woody spicy fragrance with a stonking sandalwood base, the authentic stuff, or at least it smells authentic. Some people have mentioned it smells like something from the 80s but I think you need to go back further in time to see such splendid dinosaurs walking the Earth. The sandalwood greets the wearer with its unmistakeable signature about 1 hour into the wear. The fragrance opens with a lovely, bright, juicy lemon note. Then a barbershop accord follows with lavender, nutmeg working alongside a slightly warm woody spicy accord of patchouli and cinnamon. A subtle cardamom note provides shimmer to the mid. In the background there is something beautifully animalic, perhaps castoreum. And gradually the whole thing gives into the wonderful sandalwood base. Like all good perfumes, it Begins brash and gradually softens and becomes more inviting. Well done Micallef.

Another gorgeous spice wood masculine Micallef creation which harkens back to the vintage days of spicy and bold masculine colognes. This perfume blends in notes of nutmeg, cinnamon, cardamom, lemon, jasmine, lily of the valley, lavender, patchouli, sandalwood, incense and musk to create a juice of pronounced sillage, projection and longevity that just radiates on male skin. This is a bold and beautiful creation that requires a certain sass to carry off and will appeal to men with strong unafraid personalities. Enjoy!

This, off my skin, is an enormous incense bomb for about a hour or so. It mellows into a fantastic mix of incense, leather, and woods with just a hint of spice. It is gentlemanly for sure. I don't think this is a safe blind buy so try before you buy. I really like it and think this would be awesome during the fall and winter. More of a special occasion or date juice and not something I would wear to the office. Enjoy!

This one is classic, mature, super spicy, woody based, and strooong! I like the pungent spices blend that give you dry effect, and maybe little bit offensive in first spray. But you should wait 15-30 seconds until it’s evaporate and blends with your skin. Macho and linger! I like their style of bottle but I really don’t like this one is bedazzled with purple stone.

Style is a handsome incense base fragrance with prominent spicy sweet undertones and a tad bit soapiness for good measure 😀 The fragrance can be dressed up or dressed down but in either case it conveys a sense of charisma and success. 8/10, bravo!!!

The cardamon in this beauty is not loud or sweet, it is gentle and refined. The lavender is lovely and subtle, not astringent, well blended and hardly noticeable. The incense is not overpowering or cloying, but soft and silky smooth. And the dry down in this thing is just spectacular. At this stage the incense is faint, nearly gone but you are left with one heck of a nutmeg, sandalwood and musk combination. Overall, I find this scent classy, sophisticated, and elegant. Best if worn on formal environments, a romantic diner, or just out on a night stroll while its cold and brisk.

This perfume is suitable for men aged 30 I'm not reccomended you to buf blikd this parfume. At least, you must try sample first

I live in F.L. and this is not a warm weather scent. Cinnamon is not for me. Smells very eastern hemisphere to me.

Somehow I don't find the notes to ever give a real idea of how a Micallef smells! They're simply too well blended. The notes become one indistinguishable collage that gives more of an overall impression (or mood even) vs. a pyramid of notes. So, too, with Style. It is hard to get an idea of it other than by reading people's overall reviews and the comparisons. I occasionally wear men's scents but this is STRIKINGLY masculine. Very classic/old-school 'Style' ;) It reminds me of something my dad or even my grandfather wore for special events. That said I'd still really enjoy this on a man (I'm 24)! It does have that undertone of warm nutmeg and cinnamon to freshen it up a bit once it's well worn into the skin. (Took about an hr for any of those warmer notes to become discernible from the starting point of sheer masculinity on me.) I'll test it again but I'm pretty sure this frag. will wear ME and not the other way around. I feel like you'd need a strong jawline and a confident smile to rock this, and I'd love to smell it worn so!

First sniff...nice aromatic spicy, but I get a vibe of another perfume tried or owned before...but wich one ??? This is only my first try and sniff from nozzle and only topnotes Will get back with full review, but itthat first impression caught me ! Update wearing it... Lovely spicy lavender start with hints of the nuts and cardamon , love cardamon ! It mellows and turn quite feminine in the heart, but as written before , everry note is so well blended you really cant pic a certain note. The drydown is 2O patch, 5 santal, 25 musks and 50 % incense on me. It is quite warm and longlasting so very wearable even for the woman lover of unisex scents. Would love this on my man too ! Putting Micallef's Style away after yet another winter of wear I was drawn here to give a simple review or statement of opinion. I can't improve upon what NickZee wrote, especially the part about needing to look far into the past to find such beauties done in a similar, well, "style". My fragrance journey started (as he wrote) "back further in time" so I concur. I can only add that my observance of lavender's role is that it comes across (thankfully) untypical and understated. Therefore I'd also recommend reading dadudelebowski's review as his thoughts on that note mirror mine exactly. Referencing those 2 reviews is the greatest service I can provide a reader as they echo my opinion on how Style feels.

It's very good interpretation of the classic theme of 80--90th- softer, balanced, grinded all rough edges and I can say- modernized, so for me this perfume more wearable of the "classic" than some of the lux class, which I does not remember in this moment, or maybe Lalique Pour Homme...?? Perfume with high quality and good lasting power!

This is my first impression based on a carded sample. This one opens up with predominant patchouli, which reminds me of the one in NRFH. I guess there are different facets of patchouli. It's unlike the essential oil that I've sniffed, which has the same chocolaty vibe you get from PAPHI, TFN and LIDGE.

Sort of a like a smoother and more blended Balenciaga Pour Homme type of scent, but since I already have some BPH and this one is so expensive, I can't imagine buying a bottle.
