Vanille Orient

The BEST perfume ever made. I have been on the search for a perfect vanilla and peach perfume (even though there are no peach notes listed)for about 8 years now...and please dont suggest Comptoir Sud Pacifique, I own a few, they act as a place holder, but certainly not worthy of comparison to this anamoly. It's everything I wanted Abricot Vanille to be, minus the burnt sugar and plastic notes. Vanille Orient is an evening walk through a mystical desert, stumbling onto to an enchanted palace residing in a magical oasis. My skin is warm and fragrant, the scent of peaches, vanilla and other exotic spices saturating it, making me one with this enchanted place. The kind of scent that dreams are made of. Thats really the best way for me to properly convey the otherwordly beauty of this creation...DREAMY. It's expensive, yes. But you know what? A fragrance like this comes around once in a blue moon, truely a bottle of pure-fection, so perfect, that I literally wouldn't change one thing about it. Not even the price. Because sometimes a perfume really is worth it weight in gold. The feelings it gives me, the dreams it evokes, is, well, priceless.

I love gourmands and I am a fan of this brand. I bought this without trying it and got samples for the rest of the new vanille line. After sampling them all, I am really glad this is the one I bought. It is very sweet, simple, rich and wearable. I do not find it to be the sweetest scent by any measure, especially after testing side to side with the discontinued note vanille and vanilla oud from the same brand. The note vanille has lots of honey, the vanilla oud has caramel and this has sweet sandalwood. The musc is very pronounced for me as well. The amber is subtle and quiet, while the vanilla is buttery and creamy. The vanilla note is the most defined and prominent scent in this fragrance. When they say vanilla in the title, they mean it. I am very happy with my purchase and I'm glad they have 2 sizes. I find the price decent for this high end, top knotch quality. The others from this vanilla line were not nearly as distinct or lovable as this one for me. If you love the listed notes and this sounds like something you would enjoy, it was everything I was hoping for and then some. Well worth sampling, I love it!

I agree with the reviews that say maybe this is not special. Maybe it's not "high art". But sometimes in the realm of perfume, it is about what speaks to you personally. I obsessed about my small sample of this from Luckyscent in LA for years. Literally years. It still held its allure for me and I kept trying to find something like it but more affordable. I kept sniffing other things. Black Flower Mexican Vanilla, Un Bois Vanille, etc. In the end I bought it online. It's a sandalwood vanilla of the purest kind. Vanille Orient is a little incense-y as well. It smells "natural", like it could be from an essential oils shop. But it lasts and it is more complex than that. It wears beautifully, starting out like temple incense from Japan and ending up a warm wash of vanilla. It has sweetness but never devolves into WHERE IS THAT CAKE vanilla. Vanille Orient has its own charm and gravitational pull. Explore if you are a sandalwood person, or like natural type vanillas.

Guess I'm nuts because I thought there was a dose of patchouli in here but no one else is really mentioning that (there is something that I interpret as a rough/fuzzy earthy note). Really nice deep bourbon type vanilla with a fruity/juicy/round type of sweetness to it. I agree with the reviewer below that got sort of a peach vibe - I don't specifically smell peach but I get what she means about the type of sweetness. I really enjoy this fragrance and I don't have anything else that smells just like it. I have had a decant of Cologne of the Missions Le Couvent des Minimes (I have never smelled Guerlain's Spiritueuse Double Vanille) and I don't find them to be dups, but I mean they are both a uni-sex vanillas in the same general scent genre. I'm really happy to have a bottle of this one. This is a good quality and lasts 6-8 hrs and I mostly wear for night time or on the weekend days in cooler/cold weather.

Woody, ambery, musky vanilla - cozy, sweet, grown up and of great quality. Perfect for the wintertime.
