Lunar Dust

my absolute favourite right now. it feels gently feminine, and very complex. at first I smelled a pepper note in there that isn't listed, which was where I got the sharpness that some others here have described, but it's one of my favourite parts-- it lends so much mystery and melancholy to the scent. this is one of those perfumes where I look at the listed notes and they all make sense, but I can't pick any of them out of the whole. the combination of everything is profoundly unique and well put-together in my opinion, and is really like nothing I've ever smelled before to reiterate the words of others. also, a very apt and descriptive name. I was so curious what lunar dust could smell like, and how that would smell good--and then I got my sample and was like okay! this scent is a poem. it's lonely, dusty, and really sentimental. unrestrained by season or time of day, imo.

Wow ok this is very beautiful. Intimate - reminiscent of the Le Labo style fragrances, being both fresh yet organic/animalic simultaneously. There is a dusted off, like dust particles still in the air, cedar chest in the attic... discovered by the light of the moon thing going on. Sweet but subtly so, I’m guessing that’s the iris that’s bringing the muted freshness. Lunar dust is a really fitting name for this. It has a little mystery while being easy to approach and wear. Scent reminds me of the song melted moon by Julianna Barwick and Mary Lattimore. Perfect for an alt/indie loving girl who loves skin scents.

I want to bathe in this. I don't even know how to describe it, maybe it's my love for soft things or my love for the concept of space being a theme. It's a perfect quiet pleasure, like nothing can hurt you when it transports you to the mental image of the moon and everything under your head is a pillow. The last few seconds of daydreamy montages before you hit the hay. Subtle in terms of sillage, a sleepy personal scent. With my skin chemistry I get creamy woods, clean air, and a gust of iris finally done right.

If you can't smell molecule 01, if you find Glossier You too soapy, if you want something just a little more interesting but still neutral and long lasting then this is the fragrance for you. It's iris but it's modern not makeuppy. It's sparkly and ethereal. The name fits it. It is slightly sweet but also woody as it dries down. Super long lasting and you won't find anything else like it. I won my bottle in a competition but I review fragrances on YouTube and I'm impressed!

10/10. Excellent longevity. Soft and velvety texture. Understated but surprisingly complicated at the same time. It's stirring up all kinds of thoughts and emotions. I can't really explain why though- it's just hauntingly beautiful. I sprayed it on my arm before bed last night and can still smell it this morning. Just ordered a full bottle this and Forbidden Bloom, which is amazing as well. Can't wait to see what this brand comes out with next.

Perfect on my skin. It is soft smell of iris with light powdery and fresh musk. I saw a few reviews that the scent disappears at first and becomes apparent later, but on my skin, it shows up very clearly right from the start. Briefly, it is the smell of white paper, woody, soft skin, dust but fresh air, lol :). It's hard to imagine a scent that is light but long lasting

Truly dry, cold woods. Totally moon dust! Then, the woods become more woody and the cedar enters. The woody notes become more earthy and warm and buttery and recognizable. Finally, nice woody, buttery, warm amber finish. This goes from cool and alien to warm and earthy. It's more wearable art than perfume, but still attractive. I love it!

This is an absolutely stunning. really does give a 'lunar vibe'. It is woody (blonde woods) and almost a little dusty, in the best possible way. Kind of powdery from the Iris. It pulls slightly sweet and vanillic with me. Projection is not strong but i think that is intentional, as it should pull you in.

This fragrance is one of the few IRIS notes that have played so beautifully with my skin. It truly evokes the feeling I imagine a leisurely walk on the moon would feel like, dust kicking up beneath my feet. Crisp, slightly powdery, completely other worldly. Beautiful creation.

I am obsessed with the fragrance. I got a sample and couldn’t stop thinking about it. Ethereal. A super elevated skin scent that is unlike anything I’ve ever smelled.

I received this sample without any knowledge of the brand or perfume itself. ‘Lunar Dust’ I said aloud but didn’t really reflect upon the name. At first, I thought it smelled cold, molecular, powdery and slightly chemical. Just the vibes I got from ‘Another 13’ and ‘Gaiac 13’, almost leaning towards the sweet woody from ‘Bo – Liis’. The wood emerged and I forgot all about the ‘Lunar Dust’ that this was supposed to be about. This is well blended to say the least. I am almost always afraid of iris perfumes because some of them give me big headaches, but the powder from this one is too cool to even try to give me any. Instead, it feels more like an ambroxan or Iso-e super. But it is the woodiness from this one that steals my heart. The cedar feels very green and fresh, almost a bit like sap, but it is way colder than that. This is being out in your mountain cabin during a cold winter night, watching the stars. You’re not on the moon, you are looking up on it, seeing the milky way, seeing Orion and all the constellations dancing before you. ‘Lunar Dust’ I am tasting the name over, and over, and I am torn between whether it fits the name or not. It feels too down to earth. Intimate, safe and comforting in a relaxing way. Mystical and exiting when you see a shooting a star, and you are left thinking «Have anyone ever seen all the stars that I am seeing right now?»

Lunar Dust is a nice fragrance, it smells pleasant and sophisticated, which is all you really need from a perfume. But it’s not particularly creative, instead rather derivative and reminiscent of other creations. The overall scent is very soft and delicate, a gentle powdery, papery Iris with a subtle pickled sandalwood note making itself known, a sort of Santal 33 effect in the distance. I quite like it, and would enjoy wearing it. But I don’t love it, not just because of its lack of ingenuity, but because the scent doesn’t move me. It’s just pleasant.

This really does make you feel like you're on the moon , or at least that you're under the strong glow of a full moon while wispy clouds float by in front of it . I like it , but it's just not me . Too powdery for my taste but I did enjoy the wafts of iris that popped in & out . Outside of me , it truly is a beautiful scent .

I must be anosmic to this one. I love it at first sniff, but right after it disappears almost completely. Too bad,... Seems other people do smell it.

I'm so sad this fragrance doesn't work for me! It smells great on paper, on other people, and in the bottle... But for some reason on my skin it turns into a pure and sour metallic cedar?? Don't get me wrong. I love a good cedar note, but it has a bad tinge with my chemistry. I've smelled it on my friend and she smells totally different from me when she wears it. I really wanted to like it. I'll keep what's left in the vial and try again in cooler weather and see if that changes things. For fragrances listed as similar to Moon Dust, I have both Not A Perfume and Glossier You, and I have to strongly disagree with those. I haven't tried Molecule 01, but I might find a sample just to compare... Smells: I get a sour metallic cedar note. Smells good on everyone but me lol. Sillage: Turns into a close skin scent after an hour Longevity: About 6 hrs on skin. Didn't test on clothes. Gender: Unisex. Season: Probably better in Spring and Fall, day or night.

Imagine the air cold like the luminosity of the moon. Ghostly specks of silvery dust falling gently. Ancient stone ruins in a grey watercolour world. The frequency of antiques. To put it simply, it smells just like its name and notes. For antiquarians, sylphs, selenophiles (moon lovers), sentimental romanticists, cemetery-loiterers, cold and mysterious personas... I would wear this if I wish to commune with my antiques. I love it.

Iris all the way and not much else. Cold, cosmetic powdery iris. If you could bottle moon dust and use it as makeup, this is what it would smell like. It’s almost ambient in its barren composition.

A volatile perfume that never really takes effect, even after the first spray; you wouldn't buy it even if you were offered 1 euro.

Lunar Dust presents itself as a nature-inspired fragrance, but in reality, it offers a scent that feels overly familiar. Despite the official notes, what truly comes through is a mix of dry woods and damp leaves, a profile that could easily blend in with many others on the market. The opening leans heavily into an alcoholic sharpness, which quickly settles into a dry, rough wood, neither creamy nor comforting. If Santal 33 and Autumn Vibes had a child, this would be the result, though stripped of much personality and character. Performance is equally disappointing: longevity is short-lived on both skin and fabric, and the sillage is virtually nonexistent. With so many woody-earthy perfumes already available, Lunar Dust fails to stand out or bring anything new. In short, it is a competent fragrance, but ultimately uninspired, forgettable, and even dull; it is hard to justify in any collection.

Besides the scent being absolutely heavenly, the entire concept of this perfume is just so beautiful and Mabelle, honestly met the assignment with this one. It really feels like light, it feels like you’re lay under the moon and it’s beams are warming and illuminating your skin, the moon’s surface is shedding dust from above you and it’s glinting under its own light. Gently floating downward and landing softly on its new surface. Me. It is entirely ethereal and fuzzy, dreamlike. It is a work of art that almost moved me to tears. It’s silky, with a little texture—like when a plush and pillowy blanket of snow sort of crunches under your foot. I love molecule fragrances and was looking to expand the “your-skin-but-better” genre in my collection. I also adore orris and cedar so this was obviously going to be a winner for me. It is a breathtaking rendition of a molecule perfume.

This is so lovely. Bought a full bottle immediately after finishing my sample. It’s a soft skin scent but not a weak one which is how I like mine to be. It has amazing longevity and projection. The projection on this floats in and out. You might think it’s gone then you lift your arm and you get a comforting waft. Lasted me all day and I enjoyed it so much. Garnered a few compliments too. Hard to dislike I would think. The iris in here is so nice, it’s not a makeup iris, more modern and it is so smooth. Has a slight sweetness to it and woodiness as well. I recommend lovers of fragrances like molecule 1, glossier you, ect to check this one out. It’s way better and you can actually smell this one on you but it’s never too much, just right. Edit: I keep reaching for this. It’s so easy to wear and kinda addictive honestly. It’s also become a huge compliment getter for me.

Hmmm I don’t get any woodiness at all. Instead I get a barely there sweet-ish soft ambery powder note, which makes sense bc of the iris and the amber. I wish the wood was a bit more prominent Edit: okay. So this is basically molecule 01. I wore it more today and it is exactly the same soft sweetness and slight woodiness. Since it’s not the actual iso super e molecule, it has a little less of an “after-smell” (haha I’m not sure what the olfactory equivalent is of after-taste) which I get from molecule 01 that’s a little bit like ethanol alcohol but it’s not different enough for a full bottle. Edit #2: Aug 2024. JK. I got a full bottle. I sampled it again last weekend via an actual bottle with an atomizer (not just via the dabber vials) and it hit different. It’s still very similar to molecule 01 but somehow just a bit more complex and sophisticated. It’s an easy wear

My fave perfume find of 2023. If you like molecule scents such as Molecule 01 then I think you'll be pleasantly surprised with this (and then some). Please note, it doesn't use Iso E Super as the molecule so isn't that similar to molecule 01 but has the same vibe to that - it's a 'Your skin but better' fragrance. I love wearing this alongside other perfumes too to give them a more velvety and ethereal vibe. I also wear it on it's own - a lot. Overall, it's a very easy fragrance to wear, good longevity and projection. I've had a lot of compliments wearing this and will definitely re-purchase. Smells great on all genders. Can't go wrong unless you prefer a very heavy, punchy fragrance - this isn't that. Please note, a bottle was gifted to me, but these are my honest thoughts.

GIFTED | reminds me of: being in a hectic environment and putting in your noise-cancelling earphones - your racing thoughts can finally start to slow down, walking down a silent street at midnight and hearing the ring of a public payphone (do you dare to pick it up?), curling up in your sailor moon blanket watching the sailor scouts fighting for love and for justice in the name of the moon, waiting outside of a concert venue while it’s freezing cold and bonding with strangers over the same band you thought no one else listened to, reading that a rare moon is happening and viewing it from the privacy of your phone screen (if only you had stepped outside for a minute), redefining yourself after losing yourself for so long...✨

Because I already have a woody orris-musk fragrance that I love—Inverness by Memo—I tried hard not to buy this. But I couldn’t stop myself! This is so addictive. I can justify by telling myself this is the spring version and Inverness is for fall/winter. Truth is this can be worn year around IMO. EDIT: my husband liked what I was wearing and sprayed some on himself...it was divine on him. I let him take the bottle to his side of the wardrobe ;)

What a hauntingly beautiful scent! It is such an innovative creation. a very pretty sillage and nice 6+ hours longevity. While I have never been to the Lunar surface it definitely transported me to an "For All Mankind" location. I literally felt the icy cold and stood in a shiny glossy suit alone in the unfathomable silence of a desolate planet. I am in love with this fragrance.

Bummer - based on the notes and discription, i should LOVE this. It smelled wonderful on paper but on my skin, it goes very synthetic. I would wage a bet that the base of this is Molecule 5/Cashmeran which, on my skin, just smells like plastic. Bummer !! I'm sure it smells lovely on some people, just not the right "skin scent" for me.

I’m surprised that no one below has mentioned soap. To my nose this is an aldehyde perfume. The sparkly aldehydes at the top slowly give way to creamier notes but it stays soapy the whole time. I get no woods at all. Pretty synthetic smelling but nice nevertheless for a “just out of the shower” vibe.

I’m big on the molecular scents and love sphinx by riddle and ahnu by Ambre blends and there is a cozy white muskiness in the base of this reminiscent of those and just cool powdered shimmering etherealness throughout it all. Excellent concentration too, a beautiful molecular skin scent!

The copy got me on this one. I got the sample set and while it is nice, I own Molecule 01 and Molecule 01 + Iris. I get a lot of ISO E super and not much else, as another reviewer stated. The other offerings made the sample set worthwhile for me.

66/100 dusty, makeup-y iso-e super. a bit more feminine version of molecule 01. it’s nice but the dustiness gets tiring. it’s giving “put together”, preppy, nonchalant. everyday scent.

Yea this is just molécule 01 sadly...though the name is apt. It makes me think that molécule 01 should be called lunar dust. Or wood shavings on the moon

I wanted to love this ! I get a creamy woodiness but it smells like a pets store. Like ... that’s what I get !
