Candy Yum-Yum

I bought this as a blind buy. I read many mixed reviews but I guess in my head I was thinking it would be a cotton candy type of scent like the yum yum bears when I was a child. Unfortunately, and I have seen others mention this note although it’s not listed, it seems to have patchouli in it at least to me. It reminds me of La Vie Est Belle and Flower Bomb both of which give me an almost instantaneous headache. Initially when I smelled it before spraying it all over myself, it smelled amazing and so fun and girly. As it dried the patchouli or whatever that note is came out and I can’t wait to wash it on. It’s sad because I had high hopes for it and it has such adorable packaging but this one is for sure getting returned. I will be sticking to my more simple floral perfumes from now on. EDIT: I gave this another try two years later after a popular YouTuber mentioned how great it was. I’m so glad I gave it another chance. I love it now! I spray it in the air and walk through it and I don’t spray it on my skin. It smells like a fruity and comforting scent to me. I think you can wear it all year and each season will bring out the notes differently which I love.

Fun, sweet and fruity. I wore this the other day, (it was warm), and noticed how this became more deep and spicy on my skin, which i didnt detect earlier while using this at home in the evening. Its tropical scent, made for spring and summer. Suitable for casual wear, not serious at all. Very uplifting. While wearing this I felt like those very feminine women who takes good care of their appereance, nails and makeup on fleek, kinda way. :D which im not personally but that kinda image i got from this. It's not juvenile kinda sweet, i imagine woman at the age 20-30ish wearing this. (I dont believe age in the fragrances tho).Im gald i got it, although i was little fence about it at first, but decided to pull the trigger and order it blindly, mostly because its discontinued, plus it was on good price and i needed a good summer fruity scent. Its better made compared to the escada fragrances, in my opinion. Gonna get good use for this while spending time at home and casually going out at the summertime.

I finally got my hands on one of these. Candy Yum Yum is my all time favorite lipstick. It was the only one I kept among the many Mac pink lipstick I've encountered. Having it as a perfume was a perk and so when I got the chance, I snagged one. I admit I expect alot of cotton candy, from hearing and reading and watching the first reviews that came out. Alot said it was sweet which was my first expectation, and it is but the most prominent allure is that is smells more tropically and very fruity. The first note I detected is the strong guava mixed in with sharp crispness of the cherry blossom while the iris gives it's depth and richness. The cotton candy is there but mixed in and afterward the main notes transition to a soft warm skin musk. This is like Pink Barbie scent. Loud, electric but girly. I wish it did last longer because it's a unique scent that really represents the pink iconic lipstick.

I put one spray of this on my wrist at Macys shopping with my daughter. The whole drive home I kept having my daughter smell my wrist bc it was wafting in the air and I’m thinking “this is surprisingly pretty, I think I need it.” I don’t even usually go for sweet perfumes. That is totally not my vibe. 45 min later we go into a sandwich shop and immediately when I walked up to the counter the nice young man at the register says, “Wow your perfume smells really good.” He was at least 10-12 feet away from me. I don’t think I’ve ever gotten a compliment from a stranger like that from a distance like that and with one spray. The jury is still out on longevity, but It’s going on the to-buy list. This is incredibly sexy, sweet, feminine, and head turning. Idc if it doesn’t last that long. It’s an addictive, affordable scent. MAC can have my money.

I’ve been wearing this for years! It smells delicious. So edible & super sexy. It’s delicious.... What more can I say? It’s sweet and yummy. Lasts for hours on my skin. Days....weeks on my clothes. I have no idea why they are discontinuing this fragrance? I just purchased two from Macys. I see belks has them for $48. I heard department stores are selling the last of what they have left. MAC IF YOU SEE THIS PLEASE KEEP THIS FRAGRANCE! Also make a body oil, bath soap & lotion to go with it. This fragrance is everything. Especially for my girlies who love cotton candy!!!! This fragrance is confident, flirtatious, sexy and youthful. It’s GORGEOUS 💘 Candy 🍭 yum yum...💘💕💘 forever! I’m making my 100ml stretch!

I adore this fragrance, it's become my spring/summer go-to! Although the name deceivingly suggests that the fragrance may be candy-like, it is one of the most beautiful floral scents I have ever smelled. It reminds me of if Lancome's "La Vie Est Belle" and Viktor&Rolf's "FlowerBomb" had a child, except with a youthful twist. I have to say, although this fragrance dries down kinda fast (I get 3-4 hours of wear), my favorite part is when I get to the cotton candy and vanilla base. It is not overly cloying like Aquolina's "Pink Sugar" can be, but the most delicate, cozy sweetness I have ever experienced in the base notes of a perfume. If you like sweet florals, definitely try to get your hands on this!

I was so pleasantly surprised by this MAC perfume, I bought a bottle soon after and it has been one of my favorites ever since. I mean wow! It’s juicy, bold, feminine and just so sexy which is exactly how I’d describe my taste in perfumes. The combination of sweet and fresh notes are intoxicating. It makes me so happy! I’m someone who will NOT buy a perfume if it doesn’t last. This fragrance passed my longevity test by a hair and since I got lots of compliments wearing it I think it was worth it, especially considering how affordable it is. I would and will buy again in a heartbeat. Thank you MAC!

Yum! So delicious! Literally smells like candy on me. I get the guava, cotton candy and also a little spiciness to it almost like pink pepper? It’s really lovely! Especially for spring and summer. It’s sweet without being too cloying. I enjoy these shade scents from MAC and I’m sad they’re discontinued/ hard to find. This reminds me of the early 2000’s type fragrances that were sugary sweet, young, hot fragrances but this one has a little spicy edge to it. Longevity and silage are definitely there. This is a great fragrance when you want something sweet, summery and fruity with an edge.

My favorite perfume of all time. This used to be my signature scent, but I cannot find it anywhere anymore. I got the most compliments on this perfume than any other perfume I’ve ever owned. Very sweet, candy smell. And it lasts a very long time, I’d put this on one time and it’d last throughout the whole day. It was a little pricey in my opinion (this is coming from someone that primarily wore BBW products), but it was so worth it. I could make the bottle stretch for a year.

This one makes me mad. I freaking love the smell...warm, delicious, and girly. But it WILL. NOT. STAY. PUT. I tested (a good amount of it) on a strip of fabric and it surprised me...still quite strong the next day. But I know from experience that it dissipates an hour later on the skin. So this one might just have to do as a clothes scent. I just reeeeally wanted it to stay on my skin and in my hair. Sigh...

I’ve used around 3 bottles of this stuff, I absolutely love it! It’s so sweet and cute and I find it stays on my skin all day! I receive a lot of compliments when wearing this! Takes me back to my high school days; I practically begged my mum and insisted I needed this as a teenager because everybody who was somebody had it🤣 no regrets! Good buy!

The opening guava note is juicy and nice! I swear there’s a hint of raspberry in this as well. I wish there was more prominence in the cotton candy note which doesn’t last long at all on my skin. It’s sweet, pink, and captivating, but not juvenile. My boyfriend loves it on me and I definitely think it’s a crowd pleaser. Longevity is 2hrs max.

MAC fragrances are so underrated! For the price you can’t beat this. It’s sweet, it’s cute, it’s fun and it smells amazing! Candy sweet indeed. Reminds me of something Barbie would wear. It also reminds me of fragrances from the early 2000’s. This is girlie, flirty, and sweet. Great for all seasons and occasions! Love this one! 💕

a tart salty guava that registers like rhubarb with some patchouli or caramel praline and salt and the cherry blossom very present; in the base it is vanillic; the fragrance is ripe, tart and luscious from someone who is not a fruity fragrance fan but I loved the top much more than the drydown

Just received this in the mail and wow!! It is super fresh and juicy it’s almost mouthwatering 😩. The guava comes through sooo nicely and gives off this vibe of pink sunshine and rainbows. Tried layering it with Kayali ‘42 and it’s amazing! Totally will reach for this everyday.

Candy Yum Yum is sweet fruity candy, classy and well done, even better as it ages. Raspberry, cherry, vanilla, and maybe a touch of ambroxan. Very fun and feminine fragrance. I like Candy Yum Yum from Valentine's season in early February through early autumn.

In the Barbie world! We need fragrances like that. We need that cheerful,sweet perfumes that makes us happy and "cute". Of course this scent isn't anything special but somehow it still gives that "happy vibe" and feeling.

Candy Yum Yum opens with a lot of ISO E Super. The drydown features mostly raspberry, tropical fruit, with a teaser of bubblegum. Yummy candy indeed. Upbeat, youthful, fun scent!

MAC formally discontinued this not that long ago, so dept stores are selling what they have now before it’s fully gone. 😓

This is everything I wanted Angel Nova to be. Same exact vibe minus the screechy akigala drydown - in LOVE.

Even though there is no patchouli listed, Candy Yum Yum smells like a typical fruitchouli to me. It has that spicy, sharp attitude patch has. And it's very fruity. I don't just smell guava, but also a lot of citrus that comes across a bit too artificial. Despite the name, I don't find this candy-like or extremely sweet. This isn't a Pink Sugar kind of scent, more of a fruit bomb. But it does smell hot pink and girly in a bold and carefree way. The drydown is better than the opening in my opinion. The cotton candy finally becomes noticeable and the citrus wears off a little, so it turns sweeter and less sharp. I don't really get any cherry blossom or iris, just general fruity floral background notes. Candy Yum Yum is a cute fragrance, but not a must have, especially now that it's discontinued and becomes harder to find. I already own Guerlain's LPRN Intense which does fruity cotton candy much better and in a more sophisticated way. Nevertheless I still like this more than the more cloying and burned, less fresh cotton candy variants that are plenty on the market.

WHY do I like this so much? Trying to make some headway with the giant stash of samples I have, and spritzed this on thinking it'd go quickly into the "throw into a swap" pile. And yet. There's something in the drydown here that reminds me of one of my other mainstream faves - Vince Camuto (the original). There's no patchouli listed in the notes, and the two scents are by no means dupes, but there is definitely something that feels a bit like the rummy, lite-patch, osmanthus drydown of VC. I'm not a candy-fragrance person in the slightest (usually the mention of cotton candy will send me running in the other direction) and I am also very much NOT the sort who would relish saying "Candy Yum Yum" if someone asked me what I was wearing. But I find this a little irresistible... and the overall effect is less baby-wants-candy and more fruity-sensual. I'm not sure if I'll spring for a full bottle, but on my skin this really works. Anyway. Yeah... I like it!

Top is bright and a little dry. The guava pulls citrusy .. Grapefruity at first, then more like pink lemonade. There’s also a prominent green, grassy, earthy note in the top and middle. It reminds me a lot of that earthy tea accord in Nest Indigo. Very interesting and unexpected. The iris lends an elevated creaminess. The sweeter cotton candy base is very reigned-in ... just balances out the guava. Makes me a little sad, though .. I would’ve liked more sweetness from a fragrance called “Candy Yum-Yum.” (Making a mental note to mix this with Solinotes Vanille or Parfums de Coeur Body Fantasies Cotton Candy!) The base notes are also super short-lived, after which the fragrance fades to a quiet skin scent. Overall, longevity is not great .. 2-3 hours tops. (Better on clothes, though!) A charming fragrance that’s good for summer.

I own the notoriously bright lipstick, Candy Yum-Yum, so I had to have the perfume to match! This is guava cotton candy, but make it smooooth. It's not juvenile (even if the name is :p), but done in an upbeat trendy way. The reviewer below me said it all perfectly: tropical, juicy, and sweet. Very flirty. Unfortunately, there is a very synthetic element to this when it dries down. It also smells incredibly familiar... but not something I see in the "reminds me of" section. I'm thinking of an Escada I've owned in the past, either Sunset Heat or Magnetism. If you like Escada's offerings, this is absolutely something you will enjoy! Great for hot summer days and nights. Also, this is NOT discontinued (yet). Retail goes for $57, so please do not pay the ridiculous prices on ebay for it.

This kiiiiiiind of smells like Angel Nova and Angel Eau Sucree to me. I liked Sucree, but there was too much patchouli for me in combination with the synthetic sweetness. I love Nova, and still have it, but it's definitely more jammy sweet rose and litchi, with less woodiness and patchouli than Sucree, but definitely still has it in. Candy Yum Yum has the guava sweetness, but is surprisingly more masculine-leaning than I anticipated. It's not patchouli of course, but a clean muskiness that's probably coming from the iris. I like it! Not as sweet as I wanted, but still a pretty easy reach. I wear perfume to the gym every day, and this is definitely one I'll grab. Update: This, Fairytale by B&BW, Spring Bloom by DUA, and Electric Fantasy by Britney all smell virtaully identical to me.

SWEET, mouthwateringly JUICY and addictive guava that’s been sugared and cotton candied into YUM YUM perfection! Surprisingly very refreshing.. I’m shocked there isn’t an aquatic accord listed as well? IMO this is perfecttt for summer! Don’t even have much else to say lol she’s simply just breathtaking 💗 Edit: I wish it lasted more than like 2 hours max.. ughhhh :/ like the smell itself is amazingggg it just does not last.. why does this always happen to me with fragrances that sound like they'd be my dream perfume 😭. It’s like everythinggg is in line except the longevity/projection. It WOULD be in my favorites if she even moderately lasted on me, but alas she does not :( Can anyone recommend something similar-ish that actually lasts? The search for my signature scent continues..

I recently tried this out at a MAC store: love the opening... It's exactly the same as Rihanna 'Nude' on my skin...A juicy sweet guava YUM! Within 30 minutes it settles into this sweet, cottony candy, not overbearingly sweet. Softly powdery (probably from the iris) with a vanilla undertone. I don't really get the cherry blossom, or rather only its sweetness. Just like Rihanna's 'Nude' EDP, this is an instant 'MMMM! so good' from first spray and then gets less interesting as it settles into the skin. I'm not denying it's deliciousness. It's juicy-sweet, flirty, feminine and youthful! BUT considering the price ($35-40 per 50ml), I was expecting more...If you're interested a good guava perfume with a vanillec-sweet drydown just go for Rihanna's 'Nude' EDP!

My recent foray back into fragrances has made me realize that I like sweet and fruity above everything else. With age, berries no longer smell sweet on my skin. I get sharp and tangy that don’t complement me. I’m super picky about citrus except for grapefruit. What has been surprising me lately is Guava. The sweetness from it is never too much and it doesn’t turn weird on me. I really like this one, but it becomes a skin scent way too soon. It starts off as bright and almost citrusy that could soon become tart. Then as it dries down, it is just sweet. It’s too blended to smell like straight up cotton candy. The dry down reminds me of trying out one of the many Escada summer perfumes. This fragrance alone is not enough for me, but I do enjoy the scent.

I like this! There are times when I want to wear a youthful fragrance; a fragrance that is not childish, but soft and pretty--Candy Yum-Yum is the one I reach for in this instance! I recently repurchased this fragrance after a hiatus of 2 years because I was wearing it too much. This is one, that I always want to grab. I have a vast collection of fragrances, so I refuse to stay stuck on one perfume. I love how powdery it is, yet it's fruity, citrus-y cotton candy all at the same time. It's very nice, and it projects well.

Mmm.. Candy Yum Yum, the name says it all! Sweet, juicy, fruity, tropical, crystallized sugar. Yes, there’s florals in here but mostly what I get is pink in a bottle. Think fluffy pink cotton candy, pink lollipops, pink macarons, pink gelato, a frilly pink cocktail with light up ice cubes that’s garnished with a pink candy rock stirrer. That’s what I get when I wear this and it’s fabulous fun!

This is not what I expected. Its better. I tought it would be very sugary, but its not. Its citrusy! (Its not listed) strongest notes are guava, cherry blossom. I don't perceive vanilla and cotton candy. This is perfect for spring and summer. The lasting power is pretty good. It last 6 hours on me and the projection is moderate. Its very fresh and fruity... very girly.

This smells so juicy and tropical, but it doesn't last for NOTHING! I don't know if I got a bad batch or what because it only lasts about 30 minutes to an hour. Beautiful sent but crap longevity. Edit: It lasts a while on my clothes, just not on my skin.

Literally guava candy, I never smelled a guava note in fragrances before, this is such an incredible discovery ! although, the opening was quite musty and got scared, it fades into an absolute delicious candied fruit like.

Smells like a body mist. Not particular interesting but not bad in any way. Doesnt smell sugary but fruity. The drydown is weak though.

To me, its a simple perfume that could pass off as a body spray. Its a very sweet guava with a bit of sourness.

One of favourite spring-summer fragrances 💖

This is surprisingly good! It seems to be the token "sweet" scent in this line, but don't let that fool you. It's far from those sickly celebrity fragrances marketed to teens. Candy Yum Yum indeed is predominantly cotton candy and vanilla, but the guava adds a nice fruitiness. This is refreshing, as many times these sugary scents use berries instead. The candy element is tempered by the iris and cherry blossom, which hang out in the background reining in any unchecked sweetness. The iris is kind of dry, which keeps the guava from taking this fragrance into tropical territory. It has more depth than expected, and I think it's one of the better ones from the shadescents line. Having said that, I don't think I would get more than a decant or sample. I can live without it. However, it's surprising there is such a lukewarm reception on here for this fragrance, though. There are many positive reviews for far more cloying scents.

Years ago, I requested that my boyfriend buy this for me for Valentine's Day. I wasn't conscious of what the notes were but all the comments on MAC said it smelled sweet. I'm personally not someone who likes floral fragrances unless they're white flowers. Cherry blossom is one of those scents that I absolutely despise. I feel like that and rose overpower anything it's paired with.

I like to love this scent because it smells good, so fruity and sweet. It also lasts long on skin and clothes. But something about this scent is super headache-inducing. I own a lot of sweeter scents but I don't get easily get headaches, but this one uh-oh. Rating this 5/10

This is kind of like Wonderland Peony but more fresh, I think I smell bergamot. And it doesn’t last nearly as long. I have low standards when it come to lasting power, that’s usually not important to me, but this is just pitiful. I don’t hate it, but I’m disappointed.

This is literally Mugler Angel without the patchouli. Beyond generic and juvenile. Not bad but nothing to write home about. I’m surprised that anyone would rave about this, it smells like a drugstore body spray. Lasts for 5 seconds max. Pass.

This is just too... sporty? Like it really is not as girly and sweet and cosmetic-like as I thought it would be with a name like Candy Yum Yum and notes of cotton candy and vanilla. I'm confused.

Although it has a very strong sweet scent, which sometimes causes me headaches, still likes to put it on occasionally. Especially on cold days.

After years of thinking about this fragrance i finally got a bottle. I was so excited and here i am incredibly disappointed because the guava candy everyone else is talking about is undetectable. On me this smells exactly like teenage girls trying to cover up cigarette smoke after a wild night out with some generic fruity perfume (on a typical teenage budget). I wanted to love this so badly but it just doesn't agree with my skin chemistry/nose and i am so sad about it.
