MV3

I LOVE this scent! Sweet, smokey, woody....sexy! I ran out several years ago but kept the bottle for a long time just so that I could sniff it. I agree most closely with belladonna's review although I don't remember jasmine...I'm going off memory of the scent though. There is definitely a deep, sultry smokiness about it and I also smelled tobacco. I dream of this perfume sometimes. I own Tokyo Milk Dead Sexy and when I first sniffed the bottle, I agree, that it smelled an awful lot like this one but when I get Dead Sexy on my skin it is SO much sweeter( more of a caramel sweet than a vanilla sweet like MV3) and I'm still trying to decide how I feel about it. Mac MV3 has just enough sweet to keep it from being overly masculine. This scent is probably not for everyone but I've always been a lover of amber, cedar, patchouly,.....other "masculine" and smokey scents. This one is THE perfect blend of sweet,smokey, woody and tiny bits of spicey!

MV3 is the one that got away. The name is all wrong, btw. Black Panther is far more fitting for this aggressive beauty. I know, I know, it's crazy to assign personality to fragrance, but how could I not, when the fragrance demands it? She is a dark, sensual, strong, intimidating, fearless diamond in the rough! MV3 is not smooth or polished. The appeal is in the edges...the contrast...the power. Leather and vanilla, the caress after the claws. It's both hard and soft at the same time. It's not a creamy vanilla or the leather of a fine designer handbag. It's deeper. It's feminine and masculine and blatantly sexy...against a wall in public kind of sexy. Balsamic? Sure. Powdery? Somewhat Floral? Not at all. MV3 should never have been sold at a fragrance counter without a warning label or a leash ;)

oh this one is a black addition done right. Three cheers for MAC. Diffidently the deeper side of vanilla and jasmine. Vetyver and deeply tanned leather rise up and swirl around you, while woody sweet and spicy tolu balsam linger with the amber on the bottom. All playing up the main stars of the mentioned vanilla and jasmine, sweet but not to sweet over all because it has so much depth. Comes across almost smokey, Possibly due to the haze of adoration while walking through it. May actually be to heavy for some. Reminiscent of 'dead sexy' from T.M. but is a little better on me; less dry, sour and exotic woods. Also Want to say there is tobacco too but it must be the association with the leather. This is beautiful and rich with deep dark undertones; perfectly sinful, sexy to the core.

This is one of my most cherished fragrances... I have about 10ml left in an old bottle that I don't even wear because it hurts my heart that it's discontinued!! Back in high school, my sister had MV2 and I got this one. It made my rebellious teenage self feel grown-up, powerful, and sexy. Thinking back, I think I loved it so much because it was polar opposite to all the fruity florals/VS body spray type scents everyone else was wearing (nothing wrong with those but I wanted to stand out I guess). I realize I haven't even described the scent but what others have said below is essentially spot-on to my nose. Definitely a naughty vanilla that is extremely unisex in my opinion. 10/10

super delicious. as a smoker myself, i find that this fragrance balances with cigarette smoke really well to change the overall musty staleness from the smoke and kind of change it into something else and surprisingly pleasant :) perfect after a cig break and also for a formal night out. this fragrance i feel banks best for a formal suit and tie night time affair for any season!

This is unbelievably sexy. I am very impressed. I was able to snag a bottle on Poshmark for $15. It's resinous, deep, smokey, leathery, and vanilla. So hot. Pretty unisex, also. I can't wait for cooler weather so I can layer it under black clothes and black leather with smokey eyeshadow.

This is absolutely gorgeous,however, I bought it to wear to a ball and did wear it but found it a bit too masculine at the end of the day - almost as though I felt like I was in drag!. I gave it to my husband and on him it smells sexy and divine! A dark, deep and lovely scent.

i always get a lot of compliments on this one. it is a dark feminine or possibly unisex scent. it's a beautiful vanilla-leather-vetiver concoction that is quite addictive. i loved to spray a cloud of this and run through it before i went out dancing when i was younger.

Imagine the hottest man you've ever seen in your life. imagine you two spending the night together. you wearing your nice sweet vanilla perfume, him wearing his masculine leathery cologne. the morning after you will smell like mac mv3. OH GOD this scent is so SEXY.

My favourite all time scent. So sad they have discontinued this. I have 50ml left and am nursing it through the decades. Long lasting, musky, sensual feminine scent. Hard act to follow so wish they would bring it back. It is similar to Aliage by Estee Lauder.

I used to wear this all the time until my husband stole it from me! It is very unisex, vanilla-y, leather and a bit of dry wood with a touch of powder. Very well crafted. Sadly not available anymore but Tokyomilk's Dead Sexy is a great replacement!

This is resinious heaven. Why they always discontinue those heavy heavenly fumes? Is it IFRA? I should find out. Hollie and sunnycocoloco discribed it perfectly, not for the flower or fruity lovers. This is oriental, baby! Yeah!

This perfume does have a strong leather smell that comes out rather quickly, but the fruit notes tone it down a bit. I do agree that this is a unisex perfume probably men can wear it in the day and women could wear it as a date night scent.

Hmmm, interesting reading these reviews... How uniquely we respond to perfumes. I sampled this yesterday and instantly reeled from the huge wallop of sandalwood. Somewhat surprising as its not a listed note, and I perceived no floral or bergamot tones which just goes to show how well the notes do combine and enhance each other. After an hour or so, vanilla/amber seemed to be floated on top. I didn't need to sniff my wrist as I was enveloped in a fog of fragrance. Not at all unpleasant but clearly sillage is generous and willing to embrace anyone within hearing distance! Longevity is also powerful, I could catch glimpses of it for hours and even in the morning after a sleep. This is not a complex fragrance, it didn't evolve much, but it is certainly beautifully balanced and blended, rich, big and happy to encompass anyone in a room. Not recommended for day or close environments as I could imagine this could give offence to sensitive noses or fragile stomachs, but if sandalwood and/or vanillary amber is a must in your repotoire, this is for you.

It was ahead of it's time. I was more attracted to MV2 with it's lemony vanilla note that was edible, and at the time I was not ready for a unisex perfume. Now I can appreciate this leathery goodness with tolu balsam, but it's gone. Right around the time MAC got rid of MV1, MV2, and MV3 their company went downhill as far as being edgey and trendy. I still like some MAC, but it's not what it used to be. Where is MV1 on Fragrantica? It's not even listed, but that one was a fresh floral that didn't smell too harsh. I think it was the bestseller of all 3, so it's funny that it's not on here.

This as said was the one that got away. It's a warm amber vanilla musk composition with intense leather and plastic accords. Very innovative and interesting, almost mysterious. Resinous and smokey, leans more on the masculine side. This is a masterpiece , Cecile krakower really did her thing on this one. Update: I made my own version MV3 with perfume essential oils/absolutes and perfume alcohol. Took me a while to almost master it, but the joy in this came back to me. The perfume notes are pretty accessible to get.

I cannot even describe how enormous this fragrance is. I have never, ever turned heads and stopped people in their tracks to ask me what I am wearing, as I have with MV3. There is nothing like it and I beg beg beg MAC to do another release!

i love this fragrance. it makes me think of cold nights snuggles by a fire with my man. he loves it on me by the way. i am almost out. unable to find it on M.A.C website. does any one know where i can get it?

Lovely Fragrance but where's MV1? That was the best out of them all!!
