My Heroine

Whilst I love, love, love brionica1013's review - and can see why some might echo those feelings, I have to say I LOVE this scent. It is dirty - primarily a heavy, smoky, cigarette ash cut with a big sweet fruity front end. As it dries it has a touch of green somewhere, a pond water kinda vibe and the smoke fades rounding out and going leathery. I never get anything animalic or pissy and as it dries into a smoky wood, I get the tickle of something like an Orange juicy vibrancy, lurking - it improves all the way through the scents life. I guess you would wonder why you would want to wait so patiently for a perfume to develop - but for me this is like the girl in the bar who's got 25 earrings, a nose ring and her tongue pierced, all about the, first impression shock of putting people off only to reveal themselves as a lovely person once you give time and get close. It's also great to layer with things. The MAC Shadescents often get referenced with Tom Ford fragrances and whilst I don't think they directly try to mimic any, they do share a sensibility. Both are often big, lush, deep fragrances - and having worn this and Velvet Teddy I get that whole Tom Ford vibe you get from Black Orchid or Tobacco Vanille. They feel lovable for the wearer even if not always for those smelling from afar. I also adore the design aesthetic of the bottles - truly modern in their colourful minimalism. They would look right at home in a minimalist home - like they have come straight from a graphic designers desk with their spare, straight lines and the fact that they resemble tear sheets from a Pantone chart. In my estimation this one is a purple close to PMS 2607 :-) . Sadly this range is discontinued and prices are spiralling upwards - if you can get your nose on them I'd say these are well worth picking up if you come across bottles at a decent price.

Found this at a vintage perfume dealer — a friend of my brother — and he instantly went, “This is a hidden gem... and yeah, it’s discontinued.” Then he added, dead serious: “No one would believe this came from MAC Cosmetics.” Now, MAC? I’m thinking makeup counters, bright lights, teenagers testing lip gloss — not... this. The vintage perfume guy even joked they discontinued it because every 15-year-old girl who sprayed it either fainted, panicked, or sprinted to the nearest sink to scrub it off. Honestly, I wouldn’t rule it out. First spray? Absolute chaos. This doesn’t greet you — it attacks you. Like getting slapped across the face with a thick, oil-soaked leather glove straight off an oil rig. It’s dark, smoky, tarry leather, drenched in petrol, grease, and some borderline suspicious chemicals. Then, just when you think you’ve recovered — nope. A sharp, almost aggressive saffron kicks the door in and takes over, backed by that same dirty leather. The smoke splits off and does its own thing too — less cozy incense, more “something is definitely burning and you should probably leave.” The note says incense, but this smells like the ashes after the fire’s already out. Drydown? Slightly calmer... slightly. It’s still dark, bitter, and dry. The tobacco smells ancient — like it’s been sitting in a forgotten drawer since 1988. Patchouli throws some dirt on everything (in a good way), keeping it grounded. Sweetness? Basically missing in action. It’s weird, intense, and kind of brilliant. If a brand like MAC releases something like this, it should come with a warning label. Honestly, if this had a fancy niche label slapped on it, people would be paying triple and calling it “challenging,” “artistic,” and “boundary-pushing.” Too bad it’s discontinued — this thing is wild.

This fragrance is pure danger. I love it! Sprayed it on my right arm as I was purchasing MAC Velvet Teddy (bought it because I had tested it the day before) and at first I was worried that I'd get a headache from the pure strength. From sniffing the bottle you know right away this is a leather perfume. Ever since I tried Cuir Fetiche I knew I was obsessed with leather. Then I got Cuir de Lancôme (my favorite) and have been curious about Bandit, Cuir de Russie, and the Tauer perfumes (Lonestar Memories, etc). But they aren't that accessible for random sniffing where I live so they are on my to-do list. But My Heroine is just so perfectly exactly what I'd like them to smell like, and for a fraction of the price tag. I never got a headache, but kept sniffing my arm all day as the scent evolved on my skin. It was fruity, almost a vanilla ice cream with strawberry sauce by the end. Yum! This fragrance ain't for everyone, that is for sure. You have to have a certain appreciation for its complexity, a willingness to go along for the ride. You don't have to be edgy to wear this completely edgy scent. You just have to be daring enough in the depths of your soul not to tame the savage beast, but to become one. Truly addictive. Not at all unlike Dior Addict (similar smoke and vanilla...I'd say Addict is the halfway point between Velvet Teddy and My Heroine). Definitely my next purchase. Probably best for cool to cold weather! Fall can't get here fast enough... I hope it's never discontinued.

I've always advocated for wearing whatever you like despite what other people may think... BUT... Wearing My Heroine to work last night alienated 99% of my coworkers and I think I'll be apologizing for a good long while. Note: I work in a WAREHOUSE, a HUGE open space! I shudder to think the effect this fragrance would have in an office environment. Let me be clear. I absolutely LOVE and ADORE My Heroine but I've concluded that it's an "at home only" fragrance. The leather, the smoke, the incense... they're delicious, "in your face!" fantastically BOLD (and super long lasting) but... this is a personal fragrance. My Heroine is something to be enjoyed at home, in private, like those marvelous expensive chocolates that you really enjoy and really, REALLY don't want to share. Or maybe it's like Bandit... one of those "Leave me alone!" fragrances. You decide. Meanwhile, at home, I'm wearing and loving My Heroine.

Oh man this is really good. I think the main issue is that this has been promoted as a scent for lipsticks. Thats the main reason why its under the radar. But that can be a good thing. Its definitely a men's fragrance. Lot of incense and leather in the opening, very harsh but give it some time and you have an unique fragrance for a great price. In my opinion, would this be released by Tom Ford with a price of 200$ it would be a great success. What i love in collecting fragrances is when i find one that not many people know, has a great price and smells unique. That does not happen very often in times where Youtube and co tells you about everything. But this one is one of these. You have an very special taste in fragrances? Please!! go and try it because i can guarantee this will not be around for very long.

Despite all of the negative reviews on this page right now, I actually ADORE this scent. It is gorgeous and dark and warm and exotic and alluring, like a femme noir. Poetic fragrance, if you will. It's definitely strong. I get a lot of compliments while wearing it, and have been told 'You smell like incense! Mmmmm'. I've asked a few gentlemen what they think of it and it's been overwhelmingly positive on the male side; people have called out how it actually smells much like patchouli and is a very earthy, warm scent. Something in the smell of it also makes me feel almost sleepy. I mean that in the sense that this perfume smells like it's time to take a nap. Peaceful and warm I guess. I love it.

This is a formidable leather scent, more masculine than unisex. I disagree with the Tuscan Leather comparisons, it is way closer to Complex by Boadicea The Victorious. The leather is dark and edgy, not soft and buttery. In fact if we are speaking solely of the leather note in My Heroine, I believe that Gucci Guilty Absolute comes closest. Not overall, just as to the type of leather the fragrance exudes. I just got this today, so I cannot comment with authority on longevity, but projection and sillage are very good. If you love leather perfumes this definitely belongs in your collection. I've gotten three compliments already from my first wearing. Highly recommended.

I ordered a 2 ml sample of this out of curiosity, worried it would smell cheap, synthetic, and cloying. But after the first spray, I was completely blown away. This is such a beautiful smokey leather. Yes, it is sharp, but in the way that a new leather handbag almost smells synthetic out of the box. Since the leather and smoke are supported by a beautifully smooth warm amber and patchouli base, it works. And i agree with other reviewers who say it could've been 2-3x the price if it came from a niche house. However this is probably not a safe blind for everyone, but it is so satisfying for me as a leather and smoke scent lover. I ordered a full bottle already.

If you love dark fragrances (leather, tobacco, incense) you have to try this. This deserves to be on your shelf beside your Xerjoff, Tom Ford, PDM etc. This scent to me comes across like smooth cannabis and raw rhubarb rounded off with a touch of sweetness. Unusual scent that is sexy and certainly unexpected and addictive. It's synthetic and doesn't offer a lot of depth but wow, this is a keeper! Night time scent all the way! Edit: You may be pleased to know that Jérôme Epinette was the perfumer for this fragrance which has similarities to Amouage Overture. Also this scent came to market 3 years or more before Overture.

I get the hate for this one kinda - strong and rough open with a blast of smoky/ash that would turn most off. However, give it time to work it's magic because I never would have thought I'd like it. On me, it begins dark and leather wrapped smoky mysteriousness that then settles in and stays close to the skin as a sensual mixture of a white flower plus a dash of patchouli and pepper and at the end of it's time, the subtle smoke returns with a creamy woody note. I like this because it's just as a heroine needs to be; strong, unapologetic and just as it is and refuses to be anything but so take it or leave it.

This should be labelled unisex. I could imagine Herr Flick smelling like this on Hello Hello. MH is about LOTS of suede with a good dose of saffron. I get some incense or tobacco that reveal themselves more with time. The patch and labdanum are tucked way back. I wouldn't be surprised if it smelt like a TF fragrance considering both are owned by Estee Lauder. It does smell good quality as well. I do like it but suspect I will use it for layering more than anything. The longevity is good as is the sillage.

Really regret passing up on a super cheap bottle last year the seller was basically giving it to me for free but I kept rejecting it bc I spent like a billion dollars that same week. But this really is a cool scent that no one on earth would believe MAC created and for women too. Severe dark leather and smoke you will smell like a prince of hell disguised as human walking amongst people that cower from your dark beauty yet can’t help but follow your scorched trail

This is a rough one at first, in fact, it took 3 wearings for me to figure out if I liked it, and I do! It's a bit on the dirty, animalic, stanky side, but by the drydown I have grown to appreciate this very much. There is a little bit of a pot smell in the background but overall this frag is dark, smokey and mysterious. Not for everyone, but this is a well done fragrance with above average sillage and longevity.

At first sniff it smelled like cocaine. Like that wasabi/gasoline scent that some coke smells like (alledgedly....) I first put it on from a little perfume sample I'd had around forever before heading to work, and was SHOCKED... it eventually mellowed down to a yummy, black leather but also sweet and soft pleather vibe. A very fun ride... I would love to buy a full bottle but it's so hard to find now!

Leather incense combo for sure. Stunning,and yet def not for everyone. The most masculine Mac. I LOVE this scent. In fact...this one, Ruby Woo,Lady Danger and Creme D'Nude and Velvet Teddy are all underated gems IMO. The only one of this Shades line I don't care for is the watery aquatic-ish gourmound...Candy Yum-Yum. So glad to own these...back-up worthy...ect... !!!!

This is the leather perfume I have searched for...maybe forever! All leather and smoke, and the staying power is fantastic. It's not a chypre, which is where leather is usually found. No, there's a tobacco sweetness to My Heroine. I can imagine this layering beautifully with many perfumes in my collection. Perfect for fall. Love love love.

This is one of the most sexy, polarising leather tobacco fragrance I have ever smelled! Definitely a unisex fragrance but more masculine. This is more of a winter fragrance and it evokes sexy intimate thoughts and is a leather jacket type of scent. Not for everyone. Love it!!

This is a very animal leather kind of like the tannery smell. The real nasty leather curing process. I would say this is less about incense and more about cypriol, camphor and cypress. Dark, masculine and wonderful. Equal to any niche on the planet.

If Tom Ford blew up an atomic bomb in the perfume lab and out walked a big MAC baby, this is it. I am in love with this but a little goes a very long way. I can see overdosing on this. But, I think it is f-ing gorgeous. BOOM!

Morticia Addams in a bottle ;) Dark,addictive and sexy. Everything is so perfect in this fragrance. I've first tried it in England and it reminds me of mysterious places like Guildford. Spectacular!

every time i wanna smell dirty, ancient and gothic this is my go-to. unbelievable that mac has created this. one of my favourite leathers, so smoky and sour.

it smells nothing but incense to me. I like it very much, but is to be used in very small amounts.

So not a blind buy, and you wouldn't want to pay $100 for it either. Or call it your signature scent; people would really shudder at that. But I skimmed through all the reviews here and the notes of caution and got a cheap bottle on eBay like everyone else does. And find I really like it. It's the antithesis of worrying that you'll be getting a sweet gooey scent because it's marketed to younger people (and anyone is younger than you, rosequeen). It's absolutely not at all sweet. Dark, smoky, wood burned black (not toast or anything edible). The tobacco is pipe tobacco (and not the sweet stuff) or maybe cigars. My Heroine is like a Tom Ford scent, but not one he actually produced for the public. More like one they might have made and voted against producing; thought they'd already covered this territory with Tuscan Leather, although My Heroine doesn't smell like that. But it covers the same turf. Or maybe they thought not enough people would like it to be commercially viable. And it's definitely not a sexual attractant. Wear MAC Velvet Teddy and you pick up someone hot and dangerous. Wear My Heroine and all the hot people might make a quick exit. (And leave you with who?) Since the perfumeur for My Heroine isn't named here, I have to wonder if the scent was shopped around to other perfume sellers before MAC picked it up. Just a thought. And I also have to wonder about the name. Did they mean to call it My Heroin, like "my addiction," until someone reminded them addiction to hard drugs isn't pretty, and/or promoting it with a cutesy name could get you sued or give your company a negative reputation that would be hard to recover from? But someone cried out "it worked for Opium!" And it certainly did, but lots more people have seen heroin addiction and there's nothing faintly romantic about it. I'm not sure saying "My Heroine" gets the right results as an answer to someone who asks you what you're wearing in a noisy crowded bar. I'm not under 40 and picking up hot people in bars. Has anyone who is had this experience with My Heroine?

Am I nuts 🥜? Or does anybody else smell Zoologist’s TRex 🦖 ? I just received this, and though I’m stoked to have a frag described as one in which you’d only wear to the concerts of Marilyn Manson, Rammstein or Rob Zombie— I’m kind of too scared to spray it on my skin. Jaja, jk. Honestly, this is the type of frag that I’m sure I can pull off. I’ll try to update once I’ve had the pleasure of wearing it to the office 😏 First hour update: I braved the potential fallout and decided to spray. At first I could really smell the leather and incense. Now as we approach the dry down, the urine smell really comes out! I wonder if this is it, or will it settle to something beautiful in the end? Second wear, 5 hour update: the fragrance is no longer overpowering the rooms I enter, and I was even in the car with my spouse for 45 minutes (windows up) and he didn’t complain about the strength. So, it has mellowed out after a few hours, and is kind of smelling Smokey, ashy and sweet to me. I really do like it 🙂. So, if you can get through the initial dry-down, it’s definitely an adventurous fragrance to try. But I can understand where a lot of the comments are coming from bc it’s very overpowering at first. And by “at first”, I mean the first 3 hours.

This was my daily driver during a period of my life back when this fragrance launched. The thing is: It's now several years later and it was my mother that reminded me that I ever used this perfume. I had COMPLETELY forgotten about it. As if erased from my memory. My scent memories and fragrances usually stay so vivid in my mind - but this one. It was just gone as if it had escaped me. Upon recalling it, I do remember the smell clearly. Leathery, heavy, incense, smokey and velvety. At the time I found it very unique and unlike notes I had smelled in perfume before. Catholic mass in a bottle. Usually, I am drawn to subtle, airy, intimate scents. But this one is loud and sharp. It is a unique, interesting fragrance, that would easily sell for three times more had it been bottled by a niche house. The cheap price is revealed in the bottle: a big plastic lid and sharp edges that feel quite unpleasant your the hand. The juice, however, is well worth the price.

OK- 90% of all the reviews on here..... are WRONG. -------------------------- 10 muffin-tops said this smells like TOM FORD Tuscan Leather? Really? Really dumb.My Heroine is 100% synthetic. TF Tuscan is probably only 10 to 30% synthetic. Smells not even close! This smells a bit like Demeter's "Bonfire". SO: What this DOES My Heroine smell like:? 1) When you first sniff My Heroine- you will do a "Oh- I've smelled that before". 2) As said before; 100% synthetic. 3) You get a mish mosh of "incense , burning wood , a touch of burning plastic & maybe hot stones". There is probably a Yankee Candle called "Fireplace" that smells like this. LOL. 4) This is very strong & long lasting. 5) This would be good for LAYERING with a solitary floral scent (violet, rose,etc.) 6) 100% unisex- actually more for a man than a woman (?) It's very harsh. 7) I kinda expected a little more from MAC-- a company that reaches pretty high. 8) Do not BLIND BUY.

Leather dominated scent. Big. Bold. Beautiful. It does not really have any female facets, yet my female skin sweetens it a bit. The massive amount of leather & suede hides tobacco and bitter but floral and sweet saffron that shines a bit. It is definitely not for the faint-hearted. It's a scent of action, originality and strength. A picture of such individual rather than parfume. Dressed in leather, tobacco scent one of its facets. Sweet spices radiating from within. The soul is wild, loves the wind, the air, the unknown. Not afraid of rain or snow, driven to its destination by invisible forces. Never irrationally afraid or trying to please, searching a way to manifest through spontanous choises the mind powering the uniqueness.

Again, this smells NOTHING like Tom Ford Tuscan Leather. That said : this is DARK, moody, gothic & brutal--somewhere in between "fake leather" and "fake incense" . It does have it's own personality in there somewhere and it is POTENT. And some may even ask "what is that weird smell?" . But we all get into those weird moods once in a while as well as Halloween is only about 247 days away . LOL. This is NOT FOR EVERYONE. THIS IS NOT A SAFE BLIND BUY (even though I blind bought it). For what it's worth: I cannot imagine this being produced for very much longer and it's probably the poorest seller in the M.A.C. fragrance line.

Uh... So, yeah... See NeroliBergamot's review below. Never, EVER wear this to work. See, I know we all have different tastes, and I wouldn't want all to wear same generic (*cough* LVEB *cough*) fragrance, but there's no way in HELL this is office friendly juice. Or any workplace friendly. The only time I've ever worn this was to a Marilyn Manson concert, and that speaks volumes. That being said, it is certainly interesting creation. I haven't had it in me to sell it, but part of it might be because I don't know who would buy it...

I agree that this is strong and dark but it doesn't smell anything like my old leather jackets!! I get NO distinct leather smell unless that is going to come forward after several hours of wear and I seriously doubt that it will. It's too bad that the description on here is limited to "smells like" because that's too subjective for accuracy. However that likely means the scent has been composed of a list of created chemical compounds designed to simulate natural ingredients and little to no actual natural ingredients.

this is all smoky black leather and tobacco. bringing up memories of mac MV3, though i love and covet MV3 much more, i smell the same leather note. this scent is more traditionally masculine than that though. this is a very nice leather scent, and on the right person would be stellar. it's just a bit too smoky for my personal tastes.

March seems to be a perfect a perfect month for My Heroine. It is still super leathery but floral underneath with labdanum, saffron and patchouli giving it dense texture. The scent is edgy and wild but charming. Fits leather clothes and motorbike. It is also super unique. I dont know anything similar.

finally got to smell it! no ashtray, no smoke. just a lightly incense-y, green, dry suede leather. smells REMARKABLY similar to ombre leather and oud saphir , and when i sprayed it the SA remarked how it much it smelt like tuscan leather. the greenness here comes from the galbanum and oak moss instead of the ozonic violet leaves of ombre, but the effect is similar. the incense is also greenish, smelling more like burnt tea than church incense. i only smell saffron at the very top, it disappears really quickly. projects for 5 hours or so before disappearing on the skin. don't be put off by the EDP label, its a lot lighter than you'd think; similar to the CDG incense series in terms of longevity and feel. the price tag is the best thing about the fragrance, but overall it's a cool, very niche smell for a 'designer' market at a good price; that said this isn't anything niche heads haven't smelled before. i'm gonna pick up a bottle in a year or so when it gets scrapped or dc'd or something and it'll be even cheaper, that said it'll be a scent that people will clammer to get their hands on in the near future when its production run finishes. edit: i don't smell smoke but i wore it again today and my brother and mom started coughing, LOL

This perfume is vile but I have my moments when I need vile, just a sniff of it. Weird. Edit- Too much for me. If I had a walk in closet for perfumes, I might have kept it :)

I have a very weak stomach. Since I was little, a short car ride has been enough to turn me into a vomit comet. And when I was little, we would visit my grandparents and uncle often. And my uncle would chain smoke in a living room filled with large leather furniture. The smell of leather and smoke reminds me of sitting in that room, nauseated from the car ride, with the nausea further fueled by the smoke, leather, and rich foods my grandparents would serve. MAC's My Heroine takes me right back into that room. It's pure leather and smoke. I detect nothing else. The saffron likely amplifies the leather, which is STRONG. But there is no incense - just vicious smoke. I love leather and I love incense, but I don't love them like this. I have worn this twice now. I have subjected myself to reliving these memories (good but physically revolting) twice, trying to enjoy this fragrance, but I can't. I can certainly see its appeal (you cannot accuse it of being generic, that's for sure) and if I didn't have these memories, perhaps I would enjoy it more. Perhaps if it wasn't as strong (silage so high you feel like you've swallowed a face full of fume each time you spray and longevity straight through infinity) I would enjoy it more. Perhaps if I combined it with other fragrances I would enjoy it more. But I can't keep trying. This is just not for me. For lovers of sharp-ish smoke and in-your-face LEATHER, this will be a treat. Sadly, not for me. And even more sadly, I have a full bottle of this smoke-filled room. If anyone would like to make a trade in Toronto, please send me a message. When I was about 11 years old I thought it was really cool to sit at the back of the classroom and sniff permanent markers with my friend when the teacher wasn't watching, until it gave me a great big headache and made me sick. Well sniffing this reminds me of that, or even worse, like having a terrible accident at the petrol bowser and saturating my clothes in petrol and not having time to change. I get that some may like it in the same way I liked sniffing those indelible markers as a child but seriously, I can't detect any of the notes mentioned except mechanics overalls, is that a note btw? Admittedly I didn't leave it long enough on my wrist to smell the dry down as I was chastised by my husband for smelling weird and felt too embarrassed to wear for much longer than an hour. No, not for me, this perfume makes too much of an anti-social statement.

Once I had the not so bright idea of smoking a cigar in my car. The ashes got everywhere and the smell did not leave for a year. This perfume reminds me of that experience, except in a fancy new car with leather seats. Frankly, I like the smell of cigars/cigarettes and ashtrays. A lot of people don't, and if you don't I have my doubts that you'll like this at all. Even with liking this kind of smell in the environment, I'm not too keen on wearing it in such a straightforward fashion. On the drydown the saffron reveals itself more and the smoke/ashtray becomes less, which is nice. It gets warmer and spicier. I think I'd rather purchase a perfume that smelled like the drydown to begin with.

(Work in cosmetics/fragrance for years). Man, I love the smell of leather. Gimme a well made leather bag or shoe, and I will shamelessly smash it on my face and inhale like an addict. I love the smell of tobacco, too! I quit smoking years ago, but I still miss it. That being said, I hit myself with one spray of this stuff, and at the gas station after work, people in line behind me were coughing. I got home and had to shower twice just to tone it down, as I was getting light headed. At least I can confirm it is well made. I warn customers before they smell or spray it so that they don't freak out.

Very unisex, I can't say that this is a bad scent, just that it is not to my personal taste. On me it starts strongly as burning wood which slowly morphs into hot asphalt and burning tires with an undertone of cigarette smoke. I really couldn't sense leather in any shape or form, which is what I was hoping for. Awful on me, I suspect it could happily be worn by many guys, and perhaps by a 20-something woman in the biker/punk/goth set wanting to smell street-cred worthy!

Eau de "Two women in gaudy jewelry outside of a casino bingo, chainsmoking Newports, comparing photos of their grandkids and angel food cake recipes". No matter what avant-garde spin MAC thinks they put on this scent, there is the undeniable stench of burning Newports in this fragrance. I know it will be somebody's cup of tea out there!

This is so bad on me. I actually choked a little bit in the store. It felt like I stuck my face over a burning tire. I love smoky scents and I love leather but this is not a nice one to me. Maybe if I gave it a chance it would smell better in the dry down but why put myself through that?

Smelled nice in the store. Now I am stuck with what I think smells like a burning old car. Absolutely disgusting and disappointing as I absolutely love velvet teddy. I can see people have compared it to Tuscan Leather, which I don't understand at all. What?

It really smells like something that was left in a fire. Very smoky, sharp, deep. It makes my lungs sting. Not pleasant in any way shape or form - I can't imagine being around someone wearing this scent! Please don't do it if you work around others!

Okay Im not going to lie this scent gave me a headache, I like the leather top note but this smells too much like tobacco to be enjoyable to the average person sorry. I think I would like this if it smelled a bit more feminine.

Very meaty, like a pepperoni stick. Very smoky, like a burning stick of pepperoni. A pepperoni incense stick, if you will. Not safe, very challenging, and extremely tenacious. Lovers of niche may approve.

So if your into soft lady like fragrances RUN Forrest RUN. This is heavy with an OUD vibe. On the positive side I washed my wrist 5 times and it's still there - Help me!

It really smells like an ashtray- if you enjoy tobacco scents, okay but IT IS NOT A SAFE BLIND!

On my skin, this comes as a synthetic mess. A sweet rasperry candy that will be the main player here, mixed with cold ashes in the back. At some point, I looked at the bottle to double check they didn;t send me the other Mac frag (Candy Yum-Yum). In the drydown, there is indeed a smoked birch tar note, but as soon as it calms down, the disgustingly synthetic sweet rasperry/guava note comes back, and the cold ahstray note simply smells disgusting, and fails to balance the juice. At that stage, there is a remote similarity with Tuscan Leather, but where TL manages to have the rasperry note be a part of the leather, here it's cloying sweet and the impression of leather is failed. Also, I'm usually not a fan of TF, but let's not insult Noir Anthracite: it's one of the only decent TF, and Mac MH is not remotely similar to it. That said, kudos to the great performance! Definitely feminine, much too sweet for my tastes (except for the ashy late drydown). This goes right back on ebay! Not recommended to men, and women try before you buy!
