Black Uddu

Fantastic leather scent. I'm currently head-over-heels for this. To my nose, this is a unique link between classic floral-based leather scents and modern resin/oud leathers. Calvini correctly points out the lighter version of Clive Christian C... spot on. This is CCC without the layers and layers of notes. But the similarities are there, with florals taking a strong supporting role. I don't see much similarity to Tuscan Leather, but I also don't think Tuscan Leather and CCC are all that similar, except in the opening minute of application. The leather for Black Uddu is quite possibly one of the best I've ever smelled. I adore the florals, although I was surprised to see violets listed... usually violets are screechy for me, and almost an automatic turn off. Certainly not here. They're either using better quality accords or blending it better. The resins and woods (I pick up juniper) are just so smooth and well blended. Perfectly unisex. I own Tuscan Leather and CCC, and I don't think adding this to my collection would be redundant at all. Love at first sniff!

Olfactory poetry. This is one of the most beautiful perfumes I've experienced. Apparently, I love violet. It's soft a soft and delicate floral note. I think the categorisations can be discussed. For me, this is foremost a violet-leather perfume, on a woody and resinous base which is quite vauge and 'barely there'. I would certainly not call it an 'amber', as I think this is misleading. Soft and gentle. It is not until the very end that a somewhat sweet amber reveals itself. A beautiful transition. Some resemblance to Vilhelm's Morning chess , in terms of the leather, which I also like quite a lot, but Black Uddu is just exceptional. The leather is soft and not intrusive at all (I normally don't enjoy leather very much, it requires the right context). Genderless. You need to experience it for yourself.

WOW! Think Tom Ford Tuscan Leather but sweeter.. darker.. more sophisticated.. like Widian London but lighter and sweeter.. Love at first sniff. Full bottle worthy!

In my mind, this is how Franz Kafka would’ve smelled like. 10/10

This was very nice, strong resins with just a touch of sweet floral and musk. This seems a very classic scent, with plenty of complication. The scent lasts an eternity, but the only thing that kept me from marking this as a scent I love is that the sillage was not as big as I like. But it's a beautiful scent that reminded me of a perfume your cool aunt would wear.

It's darker, more "sticky," and more animalic than Tuscan Leather, like a lighter version of C for Men (Clive Christian)

I get some similarities between this and Santal 33 BUT this is a lot drier, bitter, leathery, slightly green and darker smelling. It's like Santal 33's cousin who is a punk with a leather jacket. It also comes off a bit gothic as well. This is exceptional, it's such a statement maker.

this is absolutely gorgeous. very unique. I find that sillage and longevity aren’t great, but layering it over a fragrance enhancer like Molecule 01 helps a lot.
