No. XXI Spirituelle

This is one of those perfumes the first time you try it you think 'is this it?', but as time passes, the more you might start to appreciate the beauty of it. In the dry-down, you can start to appreciate its naturally, herbally green and fresh complexity. The opening is a blast of natural-smelling mint, which is nice, but also a bit troublesome, since, well... (the toothpaste-connotation is always a large risk using mint, no matter how natural it is). If you don't like mint, I would advise you to avoid this. I really don't like to use the word mint , because it has many essentially different associations. As a name for a note, it can be very misleading. The Swedish word mynta is more nuanced. Spirituelle is just as much about cassis, which together with mynta converges into something very herbal, lush and naturally nuanced. It is discrete. It certainly won't project across the room – which makes it very versatile. Perfectly fine for everyday use. I strongly disagree this has anything to do with 'fruity'. This is not fruity at all. Misleading. Longevity is not strong, verging on weak, but considering the impression of natural materials, it feels only given it won’t last as long as synthetics do. You have to accept it for what it is. It's not dark, but not light either. Somewhere in between shadows and light. Green-lush. I would say it has almost a meditative and calming effect. It is soft and pleasant, and has a very natural and genuine feel of high quality ingredients (which you would expect at this price). Completely devoid of gender. Undiscovered gem. Beautiful for spring and summer.

I have been a Niche collector for over 15 years. I have never in my life smelled something so incredible. I was at a shop in San Francisco the other day - taking a look around at all the things I hadn't tried... I see in the corner of the store a simple black bottle with a wrinkly black label - what is this? Mad Et Lan - like the pot-pouri? Yes. I picked up the bottle and removed the cap to give the lid a quick sniff - and BAM! The most herbal, minty, sweet, sour - smoky thing I'd ever smelled. It was incredible - like fireworks to my nose. I bought the bottle immediately. This is just an incredible parfum and I cannot believe how unknown this is. This brand is unbelievably good. I feel lucky to have found it. EDIT: The notes from Mad Et Len: Picture windswept nights in the Arabian penninsula, where wanderers rest from long, perilously hot days of nomadic travel under the cooling glow of the stars. Crisp, iced mint tea is the beverage of choice, invigorating and purifying, and its distinct scent mixes on the still-warm desert wind with rich noble cypress. A scent of refreshment, depth, and adventure.

While Spirituelle isn't a transformative multi-layered scent, it is a magnificent and well crafted one-note beauty. A gorgeous black currant open with a very green leafy cassis middle and a mild spearmint afterglow. Stays on long and strong and people always compliment me when I wear this. And, wonderfully enough, my partner loves this and steals it for himself quite often.

completely stunning. smelled this in a shop and had to buy it immediately. fizzy sharp calming mint with a tiny spine of wood below. first time I've ever actively wanted to overspray a fragrance—can't wait to wear it in the summer and see it truly scream

A beautiful mint summer cocktail. I also pick up orange blossom and woods along with the cassis. This is high quality and very natural with great performance. The Spirituelle room spray is also lovely.

I saw this in one of the shop and I tried this one n graphite...This smell is very interesting. I want to get n give it a try.

Fresh mint and blackcurrant with a soft touch of wood. Clean, cool, and calming like a quiet moment after the rain.

Hmm, interesting - I feel like I may be anosmic to something in here, because I get a really subtle, skin-like minty musk with a tiny hint of the blackcurrant tone listed (although, I do work with artisan chocolate and blackcurrant is an ingredient I smell and taste quite a bit, so maybe I'm used to the pungent tartness of the actual fruit, in the flesh. :) On me it kinda dries down to a very Exaltolide-like skin musk, very pleasant and light. The mint note remains present the whole time; and there is an understated green aspect to it that reflects the blackcurrant undertone. Definitely not for someone who will complain about the price, because it's a subtle beauty - I personally love this but it's not for everyone. I also feel that it leans more feminine.

I've had this magical potion for more than 2 years and I never seem to get tired of it. The black currant element is superb here, and it's enhaced by the bitter-green scent of crushed blackcurrant leaves. It might be a bit strong for a small office, but when wearing it outside I always get a compliment or two from different people. What they perceive is the mature 'dark' 'green' note with the unmistakable blackcurrant scent.

Basically Memoir Man, without the heaviness and palpable archetype Amouage dna. More natural, less intrusive. Understated. It smells like crushed mint leaves, wrapped in subtle smoke. Very green and herbal. The blackcurrant is there for the entire life, but well behaved. These notes shouldn’t work well together, but somehow they do.

Realistic mint leaf over a toothpaste-y undertone.. Organic mint toothpaste! Not menthol, not brazing. A subtle fragrance Great for layering. Would be perfect if the toothpaste aspect were absent.

Holy shit. This is all I've been looking for. Pure fresh mint. The cassis is everything. I have no words. One of the few fresh fragrances I've tried that truly last for days on my clothes, and until I shower it off my skin. Reminds of me of that house in Call Me By Your Name. Cold, refreshing, and almost liminal. Damp towel right after a shower. Works well for the day, but the overall coldness of the composition works well for nights. I can see myself dousing my body in this after a shower from a day at the beach. I want my life to smell like this. Need the full bottle tomorrow.
