9 Sophie in Sopi

It starts off all sparkling orange and orange blossom; bright and summery and happy. Joyous. But then it quickly develops an undertone of..well...toilet cleaner. That kinda fake pine/wood sweet yet acrid/bitter scent. I'm not sure if that's the cedar not playing nicely with something else, but it brings down the whole fragrance for a while. However, STICK THIS OUT. Give it another 30 mins or so because just when you think the orange blossom and toilet cleaner is all there is, a random animalic/faecal note shows up. More barnyard than human, a little similar to what I get from the drydown of Montale's Aoud Leather, but it's definitely there. I *love* a skanky fragrance so I am not upset by this, just a bit surprised as it was unexpected. I'm thinking it's the patchouli combining with the jasmine, and the jasmine doing it's indolic thing. It's very very well done and natural rather than the usual overdone "smells like BO" jasmine you get. This tones down the toilet cleaner aspect and plays well with the orange blossom. After the dodgy toilet cleaner period it turns into something I really love, and has amazing staying power.
