Madame X Eau de Parfum

Spicy, rosy, , unique, unisex. Perfect for colder weather. Sooo Madonna (mandatory for fans!). Very expensive, but I love it! It was worth it to me, this is a special piece from my collection.

This is a tricky one. I was really looking forward to trying this perfume. I love spicy oriental florals, so I had high expectations. First of all, if you’re going by the ingredients in the note hierarchy ... the outcome is very different to what you’d think it’d be. At the first spray, it is almost overwhelming with an aromatic sensibility. I know it’s probably the incense, but it’s so strong, you’d think there were a ton of green herbaceous notes in the composition. For this reason, I think it is runs more masculine than female. I love quite a few perfumes with incense, but this one I’m not so sure about. It might be the overwhelm I’m feeling. I can’t even really pick out the raspberry or orange blossom, both notes of which I like. Is it worth the cost? Yes. It definitely is well blended and you can sense a quality of the incense, but since I can’t really pick out any of the other notes, I can’t speak to their quality. The sillage is strong, and the longevity is good. I got a good 8 hours. Overall, I think I’m going to have to spend more time with this before I can definitely say I dislike this. It definitely isn’t going to ever be a signature scent for me, however, I’m willing to give it some more tome. I’ll play with this some more and come back to let you know I what I think when I understand it better.

The "there are only 400 bottles of this!" was pretty clearly just a sales gimmick, because it is still available on the Iiuvo website. This is a nice spicy rose fragrance. I insist that cumin is a note, even though it's not listed. It fades away, though, or I wouldn't be able to deal with wearing it. I love Madonna and always have, so I'm glad I have this, but for those who aren't major fans, you might want to get something else instead. I will add that Madame X is no better than Madonna's other two fragrances, which I love.

Not worth 200 bucks, but if you're a fan it's a must have. This is so 90's grunge, this fragrance. The musk, incense and rose mix together perfectly to create a leather ( not listed as a note) jacket of comfort, and a leather chained wallet with an electric guitar, cigarettes, and a motorcycle to pinpoint some traits/characteristics. 20 min after wearing I get some spicy rose. I'm probably not going to get very many balloons for this, but if you appreciate perfume, you'll see the drydown has the same smokey quality as Elizabeth Taylor's Passion; though I hear this is a dupe of "Portrait of a Lady". They both carry incense and civet which makes it very unisex. Best for cold nights, lasting power on me is about 8 hours. However, in my opinion, this is not better than her first fragrance, Truth or Dare. I'm not a huge fan of hers, but since her nose is fantastic, I wouldn't hesitate to buy a fragrance from her if she released a new one.

The notes sound amazing! The bottle is simple and classy, the price tag is typical niche and high end designer. I believe that she has taken the creating of this perfume very seriously, I think she will start a new trend for niche celeb perfumes and I say, good fo her! I don't understand all the hate. There are many rubbish bottles which contain ridiculously priced liquids inside and nobody takes a blind bit of notice. I happen to think FM bottles are ugly, as are Tom Ford bottles. Give it a chance, I can't wait to try it.
