Amberley Pur Oud

First impresions + comparing with Santal Royal: NOTE: Amberley Pur Oud just arrived, Alhambra fragrances need to sit for a little bit generally before coming to their full potential... Having smelled Santal Royal many times + having a sample, Amberley Pur Oud smells nothing like Santal Royal in the opening... Santal Royal opens with a balance between a powdery rose, oud and sandal wood, while the Alhambra opens up with a slightly skanky oud with amber and a jammy rose... As they dry down, they become closer, Amberley Pur Oud drops some of the fecal oud and becomes more powdery with a nice leather note coming through, while Santal Roual gets a little vanilic and leathery... You may say that in the dry-down they have the same style, but they don't smell alike. That being said, the Alhambra smells niche, great quality and I found it on a clearance for 20$... If you like oriental fragrances with Oud and Rose and would like some powder in them, both Santal Royal and Amberley are great options... Will get back with another impression after the Alhambra sits for a few weeks.... EDIT: After sitting for about 2 weeks, YES, it got to the Santal Royal vibe... The skanky oud toned down and I get a smoothe rose + a sweet fruity vibe in the background with a dark and leathery sandal wood note in the front.. Sooo smooth, sooo elegant... It is not a 1 to 1 if you smell them side-by-side, but if I spray it on its own, I am thinking I am wearing Santal Royal! Great job by Lattafa! Performance is great - lasts all day and projects heavy (not the fragrance you would like to overspray)... Would wear this on fall, winter and spring nights Hope this helps! Cheers! EDIT: So, I got another sample of Santal Royal and I wore the Guerlain and the Alhambra in 2 consicutive days... While you can tell that the acords in the fragrances are similar, the wearing experience is different - Santal Royal, even though it has a niche profile, it is creamy, easy to wear and doesn't project as much as Amberley...The Guerlain is easier to wear and more mass-appealing because of its creaminess... Amberley is heavier , bolder and it has an animalic facade that the Guerlain doesn't, which makes is more edgy.. The quality on the Alhambra is also great (don't get me wrong), but the wearableness is reduced.. EDIT: So, I got to smell Ombre Nomade by LV for the first time... Even though some elements may be a little different, the wearing experience is very similar to that... Also, busted out from behind the shelf Lattafa 24 Carat Pure Gold... It is also similar to that, but that one is a little harsher... As for comparing this to Ombre Nomade - Amberley has a slight freshness which Ombre Nomade does not have.. Even though this is an animalic and slight medicinal oud, it is not as much of that as Ombre Nomade... The LV is deeper and is richer, but also harder to wear... Hope this helps! Cheers!

This is a rose-oud fragrance with a synthetic, slightly medicinal type of oud. It reminds me of the kind of oud you often find in Montale or Mancera—very similar in that direction. What makes this one work for me is the opening and early development. The rose is quite prominent from the initial spray through the middle notes, so it doesn’t get overpowered by the oud. In many rose-oud fragrances, I find that the rose tends to get buried under the oud—whether it’s too medicinal, too skanky, too spicy, or too smoky. Here, the balance is handled better at the start. The oud itself leans synthetic and medicinal, but still manageable. There’s also a light touch of warm spiciness, likely from saffron, which adds a subtle leathery nuance. Still, the rose remains the most noticeable note in the opening—supported by oud, soft spice, and a faint leathery facet. As it moves into the drydown, the rose gradually fades, and the oud becomes more dominant. At this stage, it turns into a more straightforward synthetic, slightly medicinal oud scent. For a clone or dupe house from Maison Alhambra, this is actually very good and definitely worth the price. The presentation of the box is also surprisingly nice. Performance-wise, it’s strong—longevity, projection, and sillage are all powerful. On clothes or paper, it easily lasts over 8 hours. This is a fragrance with nuclear performance. Overall, a solid and affordable rose-oud scent, especially if you don’t mind a non skanky synthetic oud profile. 8.3/10

#1326 in my "Tour de Fragrance" This is a very straight up oriental with better longevity and sillage than you expect for the price. Honestly, the leather presentation box probably cost Alhambra more than the scent. But it gets the job done at a bargain. Standard oud, rose incense, amber and leather. No citrus or tobacco as you find in most of these scents, which is fine with me as I think citrus notes generally ruin these scents. Also not excessively floral like so many orientals. The summary in this listing calls it "oriental spicy" but there's nothing spicy going on here. It's a simple scent and simpler is fine. You could wear this in a business or romantic setting. Nice, not overpowering, but it has endurance. I blind bought this as I usually do if it's under $100 and I'm happy with the purchase.

Damn this is some potent stuff. This is an in your face type of oud and rose combo. Not that heavy on the rose but it's there. Quite a bit of leather. Projection and sillage are off the charts. 9.5/10. Update, after maceration this stuff is extremely strong and lasts a very long time. One of the best oud scents I've ever smelled. One more thing to add. This has the best presentation I've ever seen for a clone fragrance. Box is super high quality and looks really good.

I'd like to say i own all 3 of the fragrances the last review talks about and this is very different than those 2. Opulent oud is maybe 50 percent to amberley and mahiir is even less. I'd also like to add my sprayer is great and the performance is insane. I'm thinking maybe he's talking about a different fragrance? Unless he possibly did get a bad bottle or he's going noseblind fast.

I have many Alhambra perfumes, but this is definitely one of their best. A high quality, luxurious perfume. Have never smelled the og from Guerlain but it is also in the same ballpark as LV ombre nomade, not the same but similar. 10/10.

@TripleBee do a half-spray on the back of your wrist and go throughout your day - I think you are going nose blind to this...

It's a freaking beast and a chocking hazard. Don't use it in small spaces. Just 1 spray is enough. I do not joke! It's nice, simple, manly and atomic. It's very sweet and oudy.

Very, very disappointed with this one. I was really looking forward to this one and it let me down. First and foremost, if you already own Maahir by Lattafa (The gold horse bottle), then you don't need this one. The smell is great and definitely not for everyone, but personally for me, I love it. Great Scent, but redundant if you own Maahir or Opulent Oud by Lattafa. If you're to get one, then get Opulent Oud. Secondly, the performance on this sucks. People saying it is Room Filler and beastly must've gotten different batches than mine, because mine sucks. Weak Projection and little bit of Sillage. Thirdly, the sprayer is crap. You really have to put on like a lot of sprays in order to get a decent amount on you. I haven't had luck with Maison Alhambra tbh. I tried Bright Peach & Megara and they as well were let downs. Weak performance and all. I guess I'll call it quits on Maison Alhambra. Batch 7/22.

@enevictor & @Cole199_98 thank you for your suggestions and comments, but unfortunately this fragrance didn't work on me. I don't know if it was the batch I got or my skin chemistry, but it was very weak on me. I own Maahir & Opulent Oud and Opulent Oud is Beast Mode on me. To me, at least, both Maahir & Opulent Oud smell similar to this one. That's just me, to the point where they feel redundant. Yes, they have differences, but mostly things in common. I bought mine from FragranceX, so I know it wasn't a fake. BTW I ended up selling it.

A little disappointing. If you have Lattafa Opulent Oud or Lattafa Sheikh Al Shuyukh Luxe Edition, you do not need this perfume. It looks like a mix of the two, but with a weaker performance. Just for a more stylish packaging, it is not worth the purchase.
