Dark Aoud

I picked up a Grey market Oud Wood last summer and really loved it. My only gripe was that it disappeared quite quickly and was a skin scent in a few hours. Granted this could be a counterfeit product with batch codes and all but it seems unlikely ...who knows. The point is that it's very convincing as are all the other TF I picked up. ...but I digress. I got this clone because I liked my weak Tom Ford so much. This being said I can say that although this gets similar in the dry down there's a distinct note missing that I get in TF. It's a patchouli like note? A different wood possibly? I'm not sure but they are different and I miss that important note in this clone. This has a bleachy note and a soapy note. TF has that bleachy note but not the soapy. On the drydown it smells similar to Oud Wood. I may mix them together and get best of both worlds . This smells clean, a little plasticy. woody ...it's ok. It does a good job. It's similar but far from a clone. I can live with that. I will mix my crappy TF and this soso clone and hope for glory....Not disappointed for 22$ CAD

So far it is not what I expected I get this smell similar to smelling a spa or a diffuser I will keep in mind I paid 20 dollars for this and I have not let it macerate properly I’ll come back in the middle of fall to review when I decide to wear again but so far it’s not what it says to be I would say 40% like our wood however I will not give up I love MA and all the middles eastern clone houses because they have come through and delivered perfectly many time so I pray that the solution will be macerating specially since I got Toscano Leather and that is almost identical to TF I love it more because of how cheap and amazing it is.

I shot this on this morning about 6 months after wearing and reviewing it. It has matured into something that shoots on similar to TF I have. It's still not the same but I like it a whole lot more now. It's warmer than my TF. Still has the bleachy note I like but has a slight creaminess to it. Anyway it smells clean and positive to wear this morning. It's Monday after all. It smells well dressed and proper like TF and that's the trick for me. Changed this to a Love vote.

Dark Aoud rename for Woody Oud, change of bottle too. But this 30ml I have is old bottle design and travel size. Already have Woody Oud and a 100ml og and Versace noir. Still a very good Alternative to use with more sprays since it's very inexpensive. You'll like it as long as you like this dna.

This is a great dupe of TFOW. When I first sprayed it I was a little disappointed. But after macerating for a couple months it now smells much closer to TFOW and I really enjoy it. Dark Oud is definitely darker and more leathery than TFOW so the name fits well.

very close to Oud Wood. OW is a kind of chocolady and DA is fresher. olso Tom Ford has a bit more quality but Lataffa stays and project better. side by side you can tell difrence but in the air....same..

Was a blind buy. Initially, I was trying it in summers and couldn’t stand the smell. You have to wait for 4-6 months. The smell changed after six months as someone already pointed it.

Brought this over a month ago and it has been macerating ever since. Smell had greatly inproved and is so close to TF oud wood. will leave it to maceratte for 4 more months.

Blind bought this randomly. I've smelled the original numerous times in stores, at the duty free, and in person on other people. Here's what I can tell: - The smell has the Oud Wood vibe after 15 minutes - Dark Aoud / Woody Oud is FAR less pronounced/detailed than Oud Wood. More cloudy, grayish, blurred. 75% accurate. - It is not that intense, quite weak. Personally I find it weaker than Oud Wood. I find it wearable casually, but in my social circles people have smelled 100% the original multiple times, so I would not wear it in any formal event that I care about. Overall for 20$ it's a good vibe frag, can't go wrong with it. But it is just not serious, so I will buy TF as well Upd: TF is soooo weak. And the clone is quite accurate. The Og for me is not worth it 100%

Six months into this bottle and the scent has really matured. One way I determine if I really like a scent is to spray it on a kleenex. I always keep a kleenex in my pocket for blowing time. If I love the smell on a kleenex then I'll most likely love it on my body. This is one scent that makes me want to blow my nose more often! It definitely is a scent that stands out from others. The wood in question is sandalwood, and it is perfectly balanced with a creaminess that lasts for the whole note cycle. Sprayed on skin, it comes off as a little more sweeter than on fabric. Earthy oud, deep, and a bit spicy. It's a wonderful masculine scent that is perfect for autumn and winter. I'll be buying another bottle.

If you've tried Oud Wood before, then the imperfections in the fragrance are completely acceptable, considering this is 10x cheaper. For the price, this fragrance dupes the Oud Wood DNA extremely well. This scent opens up with the same Western non-animalic oud but is more peppery. In the dry down, they both transition into a creamy blend of sandalwood, vetiver, and vanilla with a hint of oud. Dark Aoud just has a more synthetic vanilla note, and the pepper lasts just a tad too long from the opening. The performance is marginally better than Oud Wood, which is a low bar. Overall, this is a very gentlemanly scent if you like the Oud Wood DNA and is a very easy oud.

Amazingly close to Tom Ford's Oud Wood. I have had this scent when it was called Woody Oud and I just bought this new named version called Dark Auod. The old one and new one smell exactly the same. It's an amazing woody scent it almost reminds me of a sweet version of fresh cedar wood at a lumber store or whenever you open a drawer of a pine/cedar desk with a strong wood scent. I'm testing the performance today at work on an 8 hour indoor shift. Update at a later time. Update: So I work indoors in a fairly cold office and this dupe/clone went 5-6hrs for sure. It became a nice soft smooth woody sweet skin scent after those 6hrs. It's a win.

My bottle is maturing rather quickly. I didnt love it at first spray, but it is now improving. I find the vanilla becoming stronger and I'm appreciating the cardemom forward top note. I can definitely smell the oud. The entire scent reminds me of the charcoal bits from a large log that got soaked in a heavy rain after a bonfire in a pit, hense the dark in its name. It has a rich smoothness that now my nose is picking up. I hope others appreciate it.

This is a tough one to wrap my brain around. I want to love it (like I do Oud Wood), but I'm not sure if I do? Doesn't smell like the original (smells similar, though... sweeter, perhaps?), but it costs much less. Doesn't last long on my skin, 2-3 hours tops. Not a strong projector. Decent enough, though. It's a nice bang for the buck. I don't think I'd buy this again? I love Oud Wood, so I would probably splurge for the real thing.

Like creamy blended wood. I really like this but I don't wear it out tbh. I just like spraying it in my room and letting it surround me. I think it smells good the way a clean log cabin would, however, i don't think people around me would want to smell that. If this were a candle I would buy it. In terms of uniqueness and complexity I appreciate it and will keep my bottle as something to smell for myself.

It’s about 80 percent Tom Ford Oud Wood. It’s not any stronger in projection on length of time. It’s not drastically different on the opening but on the drydown this feels a bit more sweet while the original is more woody. For the price it’s totally worth having if you don’t want to pay full price for the original but want something very similar.

This smell reminds me of my well-macerated grandmas house I used to visit as a kid in the 70s. It's got that dark, damp, musky, wet basement, moth-bally, solid-(Brazilian)wood furniture smell to it it with a bit of sweetness in the mix. It's a brand new bottle but it smells aged. It will be interesting to see what it smells like in a few months.

Interesting. I liked TF Oud Wood when I first sniffed it, and this is very close. It smells very cold but nice. It will probably dry down super well on skin. If you want to smell like a presidential suite, or someone walking out of the safe of a bank in a James Bond movie, wear this.

The opening has a cola kind of scent then gets very close to OW for the next 2-3 hours. Hours 4-6 it changes again to a slightly “sour” woods note which isn’t bad but not as good as the opening.

Long-lasting spicy woody scent with a hint of sweetness in the dry down. Months later with occasional use, it now strongly reminds me of cola. Up to you if you think that's what you want to wear

For anyone wondering: though the note breakdown on Fragrantica is different, this replaces the discontinued Woody Oud. So it's (more or less) that exact scent in a different bottle.

Its Insane how close to TF Oud wood this is. I've sprayed this on one hand and Oud wood on the other and from the opening its 97% identical. There's a certain smoothness that Oud Wood has that this doesn't. That said, what do you expect with the price? There's also a feint plastic-y/medicinal smell lingering that Oud Wood has, but it's very very slightly more noticeable with Dark Aoud than it is on TF Oud Wood. I'll update at some point with performance, but I'm not holding my breath. TF Oud Wood smell dies out after maybe 4 hours for me, so if this gets me anything close to that, I'm happy. I will be using and abusing this juice, and I will definitely buy another once I'm out.

Update 2: Turns out i sorayed DO & OW too close together. Yeah, so disregard my previous review. I wore Oud Wood over the weekend for the first time in 4 years. Dark Aoud misses the mark. It gets the basic essence of Oud Wood, but it has no depth. Oud Wood smells sophisticated, deep, dark, mysterious, and it develops on the skin. DO doesn't have any of the complexity of OW. Its quite linear. The most notable thing I noticed from OW is theres this deep buttery note (not sure exactly what it is) that DO has omitted. Changed rating to 6/10. If you want something that kiiiinda smells like it, get this. But I'll be sticking to the OG.

Update: 6 months after my purchase & review. This smells exactly the same to oud wood. No difference whatsoever. Initially there was a slight plastic-y medicinal smell and it seems to have just gone. Sprayed side by side to TF Oud Wood again and I can't tell the difference. Longevity isnt there, youll probably have to reapply every 3 hours tbh, but TF Oud Wood had abysmal performance for me as well. For 1/10th of the price and double the juice, its a no brainer.

It does smell like Oud Wood, but only for a few minutes... then it smells awful, then it vanishes. However, it does perform better on clothes than on skin: it keeps the similarity to TF OW, and remains unchanged. Still a weak performer.

Smell is good, but more sweet feel, rare you feel oud. Longivity is approx 2-3 hours only on skin. Projection is poor, can smell near to skin only. Sillage is little, no scent trail left.

This shit smells like ass and rubber. And why does it have to last for so long. I really wanted the drydown to be like TF, but I'm disappointed. Not blind buy safe, wouldn't recommend.

I was given the 30ml of this bottle for free with a recent perfume haul and this was my 2nd favourite from the lot of 12 perfumes. It's dark but dreamy. It does something to the front of my brain, it tickles it and makes me feel euphoric like what ASMR does but I have never experienced a fragrance do this. It's a cozy and comfortable cloud around me and I smell dark and delicious in a very subtle way. When I wear this I picture vanilla Marshmallow ghosts wandering around a wet forest. Its spooky yet ethereal like that. It is a unisex perfume but leans more feminine imo. This frag has a soft, creamy, powdery vanilla in front and a wet dark forest vibe in the back. Around me all I smell is a bubble of sweet vanilla like that powder they dust giant costco camp-fire marshmallows in but when I snuggle my nose into my arm I get that spicy, wet woody scent which just makes this intoxicating. I have no idea how others below are picking up what they are picking up, maybe they are spraying it into the plastic perfume cap and then smelling it? Maybe mine is more aged and settled because from the get go I get hit with the woody notes and then all the sweetness when it dries down with 0 plastic or other gross smells. Easily one of my top 5 fragrances and I will be buying a full size when I do another perfume haul.

My take on Dark Aoud / Woody Aoud as a clone of TF Oud Wood: Smells ~70% close to the real thing. Slightly less sweet, less of that 'metallic' oud smell which TF OW has, but still present. So far sillage is pretty good, will see how longevity holds up. Does not smell like a 'cheap' perfume like a lot of Lattafa perfumes do, can pass off as a real niche scent to the untrained nose. Bottle is of high quality and so is the atomizer. Overall, if you like TFOW, go for Dark Aoud, you won't regret it purchasing Dark Aoud Bought it for 20 EUR, definitely worth it and I'd say it would even be worth paying up to 40-50 EUR for

If you like oud wood just buy this. Literally one of one clone of oud wood not even a little difference. I sprayed tom ford on one side and this on the other and dark aoud lasted longer and projected more. I got it for $17 on fragrancenet. Will be looking more into these clones I’m tired of spending $200 for mediocre performance. I see people saying this doesn’t smell like oud wood and I laugh at the reviews either they’re tom ford bots or they’re noses are fried.

I cannot remember what the TOM FORD original smelled like at this point. I got this today and it seems like it's gonna be a "like" with time. This opens up in a VERY medicine cabinet way ; but it only lasts a few moments . It then becomes more of a human scent that I like and can actually detect the vanilla. Let's see about the longevity , etc. For the price ; who's gonna complain?

Why are the notes listed differently from Woody Oud? I own both, and I’ve gone through almost 90% of my Woody Oud bottle. At first it seemed average, but after letting it sit for about six months, it really opened up. The initial oud hit and the dry sandalwood base are incredible—perfect for cold weather. To me, it smells almost identical to Woody Aoud.

This is not lacking in performance. If you are comparing performance with the likes of Savauge which is loud and i'm not one for loud fragrance. This is perfect in the air and will be pleasant to the persons around you.

In a nutshell: 1-not an exact clone of oud wood 2-performance is horrid until a few months of maceration where it reaches below average performance, overall not worth it

To my nose, all i pick up is a shaving cream vetiver. It's not bad, but nothing special, just a pleasant clean smell.

Weak, weak, weak. There is no TF OW. Value not even a 1$
