Jean Lowe Noir

AGAIN, I just drove to my local LV store to compare this with the OG, (Louis Vuitton Ombre Nomade, AKA "LVON") and here's the deal. First off, all these smoky, leathery, super-masculine fragrances aren't for everyone, but I'm not talking to those folks. Noir (formerly known as Jean Lowe "Ombre" - apparently the name was changed for legal reasons) is not quite as "refined" or fruity (raspberry note) on the top as the OG. On the opening, Noir is brighter and more forward than the more reserved LVON. Is it an EXACT 1:1 clone at dry down?? Of course not. I'm not sure there is such a thing as a 1:1 clone of anything. Anyway, upon dry down, I prefer the more leathery, smoky and mature fragrance of Noir every single time. Now, allow me to REALLY add insult to injury... LVON is retailing for $430 or so and is not usually available at discounters. FOUR HUNDRED THIRTY DOLLARS!! Unless you're a trust fund baby that's never worked a day in his life and/or you have a mid-eight figure net worth, I can't imagine who would spend $430 for LVON. Don't get me wrong... I have my share of very expensive bottles, but nothing at all from LV. At $430 the OG is not just bordering on insulting its cliente, it pole vaults over insulting. I will buy a Jean Lowe clone (or "inspired by") 10 times out of 10 over anything in the LV line. I actually feel bad for the LV staff that are forced to push the (B.S.) company line to earn their pay. The Jean Lowe Noir IS lacking some raspberry on the opening but I like its fragrance straight up over the LV. Do I lack taste? Maybe, but I doubt it. I'll save myself $400 and get the JL Noir and with the saved cash, I'll buy a bottle (or two) of something that's actually worth $400+, thank you very much... Overall rating: 8.75 / 10.00

UPDATE: "Shelf maceration" of 2 months resulted in a smoother opening. Still a brutal wood and leather fragrance only tempered by the floral notes. If you want a "lite" version of this, try Lueur D'Espoir Arena Emir by Paris Corner - more rose forward, significantly less smoky, but plenty of oud.

#1095 in my "Tour de Fragrance" First off, this is absolutely not a dupe of Louis Vuitton "Ombre Nomade." Being sensitive to rose notes and their grandmotherly character, and hating raspberry notes for their cloying sweetness, I am not a fan of the Louis Vuitton "Ombre Nomade", or Liquides Imaginaires "Bloody Wood", Franck Olivier "Oud Touch", Lattafa "Al Qiam Gold", Atelier des Ors "Rose Omeyyade", Amouroud "Oud du Jour", Gucci "Intense Oud", or any of the other raspberry and rose scents out there they try to peddle as unisex. Honestly I've yet to encounter any LV scent that impressed me with anything other than it's scandalous pricing, so I'm very happy to confirm the people calling this an "Ombre Nomade" dupe aren't even close. At least Frederic Malle doesn't pretend "Portrait of a Lady" and "Rose Tonnerre" are anything other than women's scents, and I'd say only for older women. In fact, if the notes of this scent actually did match the Louis Vuitton "Ombre Nomade" I never would have bought it. This scent does not have that nauseating raspberry/rose combination sweetness. It's a wood, spice, incense aromatic, and a good one. Long-lasting, good projection, and a successful blind buy for me. Car pool, elevator and small office safe, for colder weather, formal wear, and I think it will also shine as a masculine date night scent.

Just got this arrived to my home few days ago, so I started to spray this on yesterday and today, even tho it's in summer. I know this needs to be mature for while. The projection isn't bad before it seats, there's this prominent scent bubble ard me and no problem for the longevity. I notice alot of ppl not getting Raspberry note but actually it's quite prominent. I think ppl who didn't get the Raspberry note, needs to smell more inceasey dark fragrances and then get bk to this. This is great clone of LV Ombré Nomade. Updated on Jan. 22nd, 2025 After letting it sit and mature for more than 3 months, the notes really blend well with each other, alot more smoother. Less of the harsh from the Rose, smells alot better. Starts to love it more and more. If U love TF Oud Wood and u want some alternative that smells completely different but gets u similar style, this could be the one. Feels like in between TF Tuscan Leather X TF Oud Wood 😍

For the cheap price, the juice and the presentation are amazing, it's a good clone of the og though it lacks the tiny amount of the real oud or real rose oil the og has, still the overall theme of that leathery oud accord+ fruity rose accord is there but the process of drying down to that leathery woody vanillic scent is faster than the og. The performance is good but not as good as the og (around 8 hours of longevity max vs 24+ hours of the og), but in that 8 hours the projection is great so overspraying might give you headaches so keep that in mind. The presentation and the magnetic cap are unnecessary though, I would rather have crappy bottle/presentation but have a juice that lasts as long as the og, putting the budget in the juice and making it as flawless as possible is the right way to do it vs wasting money on the presentation, but thats just me.

Nose Note #908 I'll be quick. This is like a twin of Al Qiam Gold. It feels a bit weaker honestly. Maybe a bit less heavy on the leather and a bit more rosy, but otherwise - just the same thing. I was expecting something different, because apparently neither translate the DNA super close. But if so, why do both evidently target a very similar composition? 100% redundant if you have Al Qiam Gold. Test before you buy, this DNA is quite challanging, definately not for everyone despite the high ratings. 8/10, I love all those oriental rose+oud combos, I've gone through many

This is a revision of MA ombre for sure. This is definitely masculine. That being said, as a female, I really appreciate the depth in this. I enjoyed it from the first spray out of the bottle. Initially, there was the strong scent of tobacco but it has just completely settled into this beautiful blend. I am only shortly into it but am getting so much out of it. I might have a hard time pulling this off although I have claimed it for myself, but will love it on my man. This is a fantastic fragrance for the price! ( If you appreciate these type of fragrances)

The combo base note of this perfume (oud + wood+ benzoine+amber+incense +geranium) remind me a lot to Asad Elixir, which is very well-refined oudy, smooth and polish. For those who love Asad Elixir definitely love this perfume. To compare, JL Noir is less woody(no cedar) ,less masculine vibe (no tobaco and patchouli), less sweet(Vanila is replaced by Rasperry) than Asad Elixir but more fruitier in the openning and mid. Therefore, it is more wearable than Asad Elixir. This perfume is a absolute banger !!! I highly recomend this into your collection.

I tested it side by side with the real one and i can say from the bottom of my heart that it is extremely close and even my brother who owns and wears the real one every day said that they are almost identical. The only difference i picked up was that jean lowe had a more barn yard smelling oud in the first 10 minutes which faded quite fast and also the performance of the OG is better.For the price difference this is absolutely worth it

This one is a bomb. The opening might be a little strong and hard to like but after a little time, it becomes an absolute beast. Siliage is strong. Walk into a room and everyone will smell you. Longevity is king. Sprayed it 2/3 times on one of my coats and it still smells 4 days after...beast. You'll get a lot of Oud, Rose and incense. Very budget fragrance with a lot of value. Would reccommend.

first spray and it hits you like a leathery, smoky cloud of mystery. very dark, very masculine. the oud in this is really heavy-oriental, it smells like animals + barns + burned leather -very mysterious, slightly evil dude if you want a dark, leathery, smoky, mysterious, slightly barny, can’t-stop-sniffing vibe, this is the perfect scent intense, moody, mysterious 8/10

So want to Harrods the other day and smelt Ombre Nomade. Holly crap this is really close to it and I mean really close it is amost a 1-1.I went to buy Ombre Nomade but there was no need Jean Lowe Noir makes it a bit redundant.If you get a chance go to an LV store and smell it,you will see what I mean. I can not wait till winter and give this a full wear.

It's a smoky leather, for me it's more of a dupe of LV nouveau monde than Ombre nomade, saffron is the most dominant note, a very good perfume which gives me a higher rating considering the price, the ingredients and the blend, I didn't know this house which really impressed me. looking forward to trying the other fragrances from the house.

I have Lattafa al qiam,royal night and this.Love all 3 and let me tell you this one performs the best,after 6 hours still projecting.Amazing dna the only negative i can say for this, im missing a very fruity raspberry opening, this is just very oudy and dark,that would be so good.Otherwise its amazing

On my skin rose comes to play after 30 minutes. Its just beautiful how well is blended with the oud. I love oud fragances, and this one is probably the heaviest one i own. I would definitely wear it on a beach night in summer aswell. Longevity and sillage is mid on my skin

You are cover I used car oil that smell is like a photography but some how it has something unique and so good, you fill the room with this scent and is super masculine you are going to get compliments for sures but only by mens hahaha 8.7/10

These notes are nowhere close to what's in the actual fragrance. I didn't like it at first but now I do. To the people that say it's like ombre leather it's nothing like ombre. Very strong and lasts a long time. 8/10.

This Cologne Jean Lowe Noir is such a good quality and dark incense, if you want the perfect blend, try mixing it with Badee al oud Amethyst and you'll have a perfectly rich, smooth mystery scent! Thanx me after!

A- Exact dupe of LV Ombre Nomad B- 2 hours of performance and everything. C- Only top notes are applicable. D- Buying a exact dupe in 100 AED compare to LV OD for 1800 AED in UAE is surely value for money.

As a woman I know this is much more masculine leaning but I’m addicted 😍😍 I think this is something both men and women can pull off. The fragrance reminds me of a hookah bar in the best way possible

It smell like original ombre nomade, I recommend this and price is very budget, i mean it last on clothes 20 hours but for sillage i mean it last 3-4 hour or i be noseblind

I got this today its strong and the smell is like smoky Tobacco or cigarettes its like a bold smoky note with back note of oud. So challenging to wear Do not blind buy

I haven't smelt the OG but I love this! First 10 mins is rough but then it's beautiful, strong and manly. Great value for money and lasts for ages...

8/10 1 to 1. Je ne m'attendais pas à cela qu'il soit si bien fait, je déteste Louis Vuitton donc même si je suis contre les contrefaçon, je n'ai aucun respect pour LV. Hormis l'opening qui est absolument nucléaire, à tel point qu'il m'a fait tousser, ça sent exactement comme l'OG, et contrairement a ce que j'ai beaucoup lu et donc ce que je pensais, je ne trouve pas qu'il y ai moins de framboise, j'ai l'impression qu'il y en a autant voire plus que de l'Oud, et c'est dommage car même si j'adore la framboise en parfumerie, j'ai li que ce parfum était d'un oud hardcore limite répulsif et c'est ça qui m'avait intéressé, mais bon ce n'est pas grave. Il y a carrément le même côté "médicinal" du OG. Bonne projection, de ce que disent mes proches c'est un room filler, jle sens pas trop car il nose blind très vite et il a un sillage qui le fera sentir aux autres mais moins à vous malheureusement, et tenue excellente il performe plus de 12h, et on le sent encore à proximité pendant plus de 20 heures. Plusieurs compliments, et un pote a cru que c'était Tom Ford Ombre Leather. Bref un 1 to 1 bluffant. 8/10 si vous aimez le OG de LV bah celui-là vous plaira car c'est juste identique.

Tried Louis Vuitton Ombre Nomade and fell in love with the DNA, but couldn’t justify the price point at all Heard about this clone and have been sceptical of clones in past due to hit or miss (except Lattafa Khamrah Qahwa, certified hit for those interested in gourmand scents) but this one I bought from a trusted seller on eBay for £25 and I can say this is 95% the same as Ombre Nomade (minus the raspberry which I don’t care for as more feminine leaning) and I bought another bottle too I’m extremely happy with my purchase by Maison Alhambra as they hit this right on the money and love it, as with the LV Ombre Nomade, I feel like I’m a Capo or something in The Mafia and have that boss energy, like wearing Black Air Forces or something, 10/10 my signature for fall and winter easily and much more value for money!

The first sprays fresh out of the bottle were straight up horrible. I'm not new to the game, I am familiar with skanky, challenging or punjant notes, but smelled like pesticide mixed with rubber and rotten wood. Every few months I gave it a try hoping that a bit of maceration would miraculously transform this into something likable, but unfortunately it did not. I gave up and set it away. Uuuuuntil... Nearly 1,5 years later, I just sprayed it again and I really, really like what it has become. The oud is still strong in the beginning but it smooths out quickly, and blends nicely with the (synthetic) leather and the faint sweetness of the raspberry/ rose. So yeah, here I am back on the Internet looking for a second bottle to store in case I need one in two years.

I've tried some ouds however I never liked them. That is until (oddly enough) i was entering the gym in I was blown away by this rose and oud combo. I had to ask the guy what he was wearing and, as I suspected, it was ombre nomade. Now i knew i had to get it but i wasn't gonna drop 400 usd for a frag. Decided to give this one a chance and it did not dissapoint. This is 90% similar to the OG and although it does not have that subtleness and oppulence, it sure scratches the itch. This is not blind buy safe, at all. This a masculine, mysterious fragrance. Beast mode performance, i can smell this on me the next day. If you like rose and oud i would definetly recommend this.

The way Jean Lowe gets so close to these LV fragrances should be studied! I always go for purchasing an original fragrance vs the dupe but Ombre Nomade is such a complex fragrance and it's not as versatile to warrant the price. This Amazing and complex smell is definitely aim for special occasions only. In comes Jean Lowe Noir. Close to 90% or more in similarity. When smelled side by side you can tell the LV is better blended but no one smelling Noir on you will be able to tell the difference. When you get something this close for a fraction of the price of the original, specially such a complex fragrance to wear then it's a no brainer to go with Noir instead.

In my experience, two of the main differences between clones and the originals they copy is 1) the inferiority of clone top notes, and 2) how they smell when you put your nose right on skin. And those differences apply to Jean Lowe Noir as well. The only question is: how much do you care? Because, while this clone is not as good as Ombre Nomade, it's great in the air, and would probably fool all but the most discerning noses. So, ignore the snark dispensed by @otteromkram below, because @DHL's review is a fair assessment of Jean Lowe Noir. The longevity can't compare to Ombre Nomade, but for a $25 fragrance, we should set our expectations accordingly.

Just wow, I really love ombre nomade so I thought I'd give this clone a shot. It is astonishing how close this gets it, the smell is fantastic and it is almost identical to ombre nomade. OM is more potent and you can tell it's quality is higher, but it's only slightly better, and if you're not smelling both of them side by side you'd be hard pressed to tell them apart. I usually don't like clones, but this one makes OM redundant at a fraction of the price The biggest thing is that it doesn't perform like OM, this a good performing fragrance, about 7-8 hours with a medium to strong projection (leaning more towards medium)

First of all, Jean Lowe Ombre and Noir are the same. It’s a good alternative to Ombre Nomade. The original is synthetic as well as this clone, however LV did a great job blending the notes together. Jean Lowe is not as well blended. They are 90% similar, it’s hard to tell them apart in the air. Projection and longevity are still insane regardless being a bit worse than the original. This is true beast mode (if you overspray). But don’t do it, trust me. €18 vs. €360 for 100 ml... nah. I’ve sold my original bottle for this one. LV is just not worth it. Btw. what are these notes here on Fragrantica? Completely wrong.

The first spray is a powdery, musky man. There is saffron, incense, and a dry woodiness that could be oud or could be leather. A hint of something fruity, raspberry? or rose powder. It is, technically,good. It reminds me of the typical manly misk oils. There is a specific rubbery accord, a MENA "thing". As it wears, the rose becomes more prominent. At the end of the day, this is just bukhoor, or a middle easten oil. Well-blended and lasts forever. Perhaps this is a good entry-level oud for those who kinda, but not actually like oud. It is Arab, and it is not Western-friendly.

This is better than the original, for my taste, if you're a man looking for a dark cold weather/night scent. Woods, smoke, incense, spices, and the florals to blend/smooth them all. The florals are not central although present, and the raspberry goes almost unnoticed, a very subtle sweetness

I get a lot of oud and incense mixed with rose although it’s not listed here and some amber ... . At first time I sprayed this it was non breathable after a while setting down it became actually quite good.

It is a poor man's version of LV ON, but it'll do. Very much a winter scent to me. It is just okay. Once the bottle is done I won't rebuy this.

Cannot seem to enjoy this anymore all I get now is just rose and rose and it’s the cheap smelling type. I know it resembles ombré nomade but sometimes when I wear this one it doesn’t have that woody vanilla drydown ombré nomade has and it just has a prominent rose note. Honestly the rose they used in this fragrance is disgusting. On the positive side of things this has gotten me quite a bit of compliments. I remember one time I wore this in like September and I kinda oversprayed and that did the job because tell me why 7 hours later someone came chasing me down asking what I was wearing because he said it smelt exactly LV ombré nomade and he said it was STRONG so I know that this fragrance has potential but some days I just can’t tolerate it because the rose just dominates and it’s the rose I hate. Also this thing is weak so dont under spray like you gotta do like 10+ sprays if you want performance. I really want to like this fragrance but it gives me mixed feelings sometimes so I don’t know I don’t think I’ll reach for it anymore I think there’s better ouds on the market.

I am a guy that loves these dark perfumes. I first sniffed an Ombre Nomade Clone and fell in love with this DNA. First impression of Jean Lowe Noir (12/2024 Batch in got in 05/2026) was like WTF is this Piece of Sh**. The opening is literally gonna Smell like you're smelling some rubbing Alcohol + some plastic recycling factory smoke smell. Long story short, didn't like it in the first impression. Will see if it gets better after a month or two, If not then I'll get rid of it and probably never buy again. Edit: it's been 8 hours and resprayed it and I actually smelt the real scent. It's very close to the OG but I didn't feel any raspberry sweetness in it. Also, I'm only testing it on the skin for now and it's not lasting or projecting or I'm noseblinded. Edit 2: Gave it a Proper wearing, It isn't that bad as it was in the first impression but, There is something in it that smells like Mustard Oil and it's not good.

UPD: After a year of maceration, I've reconsidered my attitude: the negative aspects have gone away, and it's now wearable. It still has strong longevity, less of the irritating rose, but it's still a dark perfume. I know what sets it apart from the LV original, it's the scent of Amonnia, which is disgusting. It was a blind buy and I don't think it's safe enough to wear on the skin. That aside, I kinda like the scent, it's very complex, even if it doesn't create a sillage, lasts on my skin around 5 hours and probably won't get any compliments. Literally, my friends tell me not to wear it anymore when we meet. A safer buy would be Al Qiam Gold by Lattafa Perfumes - it's softer and has a base note of sweet leather.

This fragrance is definitely for an older crowd, opening smells like a chain smoker breathing in your face mixed with gasoline. But the dry down is what makes this fragrance somewhat wearable, it turns into a mix of beer and incense’s which is tipped of by a rose note which is a surprisingly pleasant. This is definitely something you have to spray an hour before going out. The longevity and projection are pretty average nothing to write home about. For me this is a 5/10 definitely not for me but if you want a masculine scent and want to be noticed this is a no brainer.

Man this is rough. I get a leathery, yeasty, beer like scent at the start and then a smoky hit. Exactly like the clothes of a chain smoker. I don't get any rose or floral notes, just pure beer, cigarette smoke, and leather. I'll let this sit and hope it gets better.

I can't comprehend how this fragrance can smell so heavy and yet be unisex. It is not to my taste, but it exceeded my expectation on quality. 6/10

This fragrance is the incense form of delina perfume, okay. There is no fruit in the smell, there is rose, and after a while it gets boring.
