Jean Lowe Ombre

First, a quick clarification for those consulting Fragrantica: this fragrance is marketed under two names, Jean Lowe Ombre and Jean Lowe Noir; these are, in fact, the same composition, with the latter representing Maison Alhambra's more recent nomenclature. This is a brutally smoky, dark amber fragrance, emphasizing dark, earthy woods and a persistent incense smoke. A deep rose floral accord adds complexity, elevating it beyond typical oud wood and leather-centric compositions. This floral component is neither overtly feminine nor light; rather, it presents a rich, leathery facet. Comparing it to the LV original, this lacks a prominent raspberry note, but otherwise remains true to the DNA. This fragrance is a remarkable value at approximately $25, an excellent addition for those seeking darker fragrances suitable for winter wear. While most will likely reserve this for formal occasions and special social functions, it could also serve as a signature scent for a man with a mysterious, reticent persona, perhaps one who favors a moto jacket, a well-groomed beard, and exudes a strong masculine aura. It is a compelling fragrance, though not recommended as a blind buy unless the wearer has a pre-existing appreciation for smoky, incense-forward, and dark olfactory profiles. Be forewarned, though: this fragrance projects an undeniable aura of villainy—a dark, sophisticated, and perhaps slightly foreboding presence, reminiscent of a classic film noir anti-hero.

I just received my bottle of JL Ombre/Noir and I’m definitely a fan. It’s a great combination of oud, smoke, rose and raspberry. I’d say this is one of the best oud notes I’ve smelled in a cheap fragrance, usually they’re pretty noticeably fake, but that’s not so much the case with JL Ombre. JL Ombre is definitely more of a fall/winter scent. I’d say this is unisex, maybe leaning more masculine. Imo JL Ombre is probably about 90% similar to Ombre Nomade when it dries down. Bringing me to my next point which is the only negative I’ve found so far, which is the opening right after spraying. The first 30-60 seconds or so are extremely harsh and if I’m being honest remind me of like some soapy, fecal alcohol scent. Just to clarify it goes away very quickly so don’t let that scare you away from buying this. With all that being said we must remember that—especially with clone fragrances—the scent is not always fully developed/mixed which can drastically change a scent sometimes, so my fragrance more than likely still needs to macerate. Overall a very good fragrance, a very good clone, and definitely worth the purchase.

This here comes as close to Ombre Nomade as any recreation. The initial notes that you get when you spray it is oud, bakhoor and a heavy incense like smell. This evaporates and then settles into something that is absolutely heavenly. The dry down is so rich with the smoky bakhoor like aroma and the rose that peaks through, sniff it more and you can smell the saffron and raspberry adding a touch of mature freshness that is beautifully held by the birch in there. Projection is nuclear so go for only 2 sprays. You will get a long lasting silage and yes this is a serious, rich, deep and heavy aroma which smells amazing with every passing minute. The oud here is not harsh or skanky, it's perfect. Extremely good for its value. A strict cold ❄️ weather scent. Not for everyone though. I love this and would give a 9/10 easily. I blind bought this after watching many reviews on YouTube, reddit and comments on this website and I am glad that I picked it up.. Worth every penny.. P.S - Jean Lowe Ombre is now rebranded as Jean Lowe Noir. Both are the same. Enjoy..❤️✌️

Bought it last year when it came with name lowe ombre probably 03/2023 batch. Bought 4 bottles as soon as i found out its LV ON's take from Maison Alhambra, they have never let me down so i had big expectations for this too. Since i had it in spring so i just puffed few sprays and left it in my closet where it macerated for 6 months. Finally when i used it, met all expectations, for £16 each bottle back then, it was the best buy. Every single friend of mine male and female loved it, i have OG LV ON decant, so i have tested it side by side against original. Here it goes according to my experience. Similarity to OG : 90%-95% Longevity : 8/10 Sillage: 8/10 Performance: 8/10 Bang for buck (2023) : 10/10 Bang for buck (2024) : 5/10 Now its gone 3-4 times the price i paid back in 2023, lucky i bought 4 then. A must have for people who love oud/rose/geranium/benzoin/saffron combo. Masterfully done by this house for such a complex scent also considered as "WORK OF ART" by many.

This is one of those fragrances that you are going to either love it or hate it. I have never smelled the LV version but if I smelled this one with a blindfold, it would come off as smelling like something that’s expensive and niche or upscale designer. I hated it the first time I smelled it as a blind buy, but I am in love with it now. The oud & rose combo is beautiful. Then the rose comes out even more as it dries down. I first thought that it leaned masculine, but imagining this on my wife makes me think that women can pull it off too if not more so than us men. This is mystery, confidence, and attraction in a bottle. Probably best suited for cooler nights, formal events, and date nights. I wouldn’t wear this with a t shirt, jeans, or sneakers. This is a statement fragrance for me. Suited and booted. Not really suited for work IMO but every now and then during the winter, I may wear ONE SPRAY to the office. Kinda beast mode so be careful.

Tried Louis Vuitton Ombre Nomade and fell in love with the DNA, but couldn’t justify the price point at all Heard about this clone and have been sceptical of clones in past due to hit or miss (except Lattafa Khamrah Qahwa, certified hit for those interested in gourmand scents) but this one I bought from a trusted seller on eBay for £25 and I can say this is 95% the same as Ombre Nomade (minus the raspberry which I don’t care for as more feminine leaning) and I bought another bottle too I’m extremely happy with my purchase by Maison Alhambra as they hit this right on the money and love it, as with the LV Ombre Nomade, I feel like I’m a Capo or something in The Mafia and have that boss energy, like wearing Black Air Forces or something, 10/10 my signature for fall and winter easily and much more value for money!

People who are buying lowe noir and then commenting here should comment in lowe noir about their negative experience. LOWE OMBRE first batch i bought in 23/03/2024. Bought 4 for £16 back then, opened 1 and experience fresh out of box was not great, however after that was spring time entering summer, so i put it back and let it macerate untill end of september and then one day took it out to my surprise that it smelled 90% easy as ombre nomade (I COMPARED IT SIDE BY SIDE WITH OG LV ON SAMPLE). NOT AS STRONG AS OMBRE NOIR IN LONGEVITY ON SKIN, ABOUT 8+ HRS FOR ME AND ON CLOTHES EASY COUPLE OF DAYS. WHAT MORE CAN YOU WANT FROM SOMETHING WORTH PRICE OF PEANUTS AS COMPARED TO REAL THING AND PERFORMS MORE THAN EXPECTED. SCORE : 9/10 ALL DAY LONG

A total love hate fragrance and by that I mean you'll either love it or hate it at first sniff as it has a slightly skreechy oud note to it and I would 100% say test this one before buying. I've got the older Noir version as it's now been rebranded to Ombre. It should really have been called Ombre from the start as it's a dupe of Luis Vuitton Ombre Nomade. But it's very well done for a dupe and even comes in the LV Ombre Nomade bottle with magnetic cap and is beautifully presented in a round tin. It's sheer rose and oud and I can't even detect the raspberry note in it. It also lasts like ten hours easily. I'd rate it an 8/10 and would wear it in the colder seasons.

I don't like to put reviews for clone fragrances often, however this is one of the rare instances where I feel like the clone is better than the original. This takes the dark, woody, oud aspect from the original and amplifies it, whilst subduing the fruity raspberry note. IMO one of the best clone fragrances out there (though it is a bit divisive if you do not enjoy the middle eastern style of oud fragrances). My only knock on this is that it doesn't perform like the OG, but the performance is still quite acceptable, especially given the price tag. 9.9/10 imo

I just got this delivered. Straight out of the box it smells quite synthetic, dilluted and missing the sweet raspberry note. This will surely need to sit for a few months. The bar was set very high with Oros pure leather gold which smells a lot better than this, even Lueur D’espoir Amber from Paris Corner smells quite better than this. We shall see if this gets any better with time but right now i am honestly not impressed.

I love this fragrance. It's a lighter version of LV Ombre Nomade. It's got a good balance of rose, raspberry, smoke, and oud. This is a good entry into oud fragrances as it's not overbearing or off-putting at all. I've noticed my bottle has matured over the last couple of months and now has more depth and the oud and smokiness has developed further. For the price, you can't beat it.

This is now called jean lowe noir. I can smell the leather in this but anyone that says this smells like tuscan leather or ombre leather are way off. This smells nothing like those. Almost has a dirty quality to it. I definitely smell the leather and raspberry. Lasts a long time and projects really well. The more I wear it the more I like it. 7.5/10.

I only got one word *NUCLEAR* absolute masterpiece of a fragrance, got 4 compliments during one 8 hour shift at work. One of my colleagues owns Louis Vuitton Ombré Nomade and said your wearing Ombré Nomade, he was surprised when I told him it’s a dupe. The opening is very oudy but once you get pass that it’s insane!!! 10/10

I've had the original since release, when it was ambre with an A. This stuff is magnificent and does the inspiration proud. Took some months way back to mature, but oh boy, when it does, it's a brave scent that inspires evil deeds.

Just like the OG, for 1/10 the price. At this point I think buying the OG is literally throwing money away. Maybe OG has slightly more longevity - but for the same price you can buy 10 bottles of this and spray all day!

Not for beginners but when you wear it you feel like owning the place and complement magnet people texted me after meeting me just to ask what I was wearing, you were smelling so good .

After one year this is now much better also projects stronger. If you want higher quality then get oros pure leather gold, but this is still damn good, considering the price.
