Kismet for Men

This is a totally respectable dupe of Tuxedo that gets the basic notes right, but in slightly different balance, and with a reliance on aromachemicals instead of naturals. I think it's a tremendous value, certainly when compared to Tuxedo. I think that "The Tux" gets closer to the proportions of the YSL original, but I prefer Kismet to The Tux: I just think that this is the better smelling combo when it's all aromachemicals. I often have trouble with performance of fragrances because my body (and especially my skin) run very warm compared to average, but Kismet for Men actually performs pretty well on me. Sillage and endurance are reasonable for the cost. Contrary to others, I have not observed any change due to masceration. Smells and performs the same as when I opened it. To be perfectly honest, I generally disregard claims about masceration, since there's no way to reliably know how long it's been since a particular batch was made when you're buying it. In addition, I expect a quality fragrance to perform out of the box - I'm not in the market for scent bonds that need to mature (and if it needs to mature, the manufacturer should mature it and sell us the finished product). Finally, I suspect that some of the people who bemoan the performance of this are among those who are genetically pre-disposed to anosmia to Iso-E Super. Easy test - can you honestly smell Escentric Molecule 01? If not, you're anosmic to Iso-E Super, but fear not, for most people (like me), it comes and goes. Some weeks it's intoxicating, others, non-existent. I'm fairly sure that Kismet for Men is relying heavily on it for fixative properties and to make the synthetic sandalwood project, so you need to be having a good day to really get the experience. My advice: if you really enjoy this when it "works," you will probably get your money's worth from a bottle of Tuxedo.

Evoked Dried-Tobacco-Leaf with VANILLA, VETIVER & PATCHOULI. In the first couple of minutes there's a burst of warm & fresh spices. As the sillage opens up, there's an evoked dried-tobacco-leaf note with plum-y/raisin-like nuances. All of the other notes are serving to support & enhance different facets of the evoked tobacco leaf. This has above average performance for a year-round wearing experience, but some people will become anosmic. Contrast to Tuxedo Yves Saint Laurent: These are different, although there are striking similarities with vanilla & patchouli, and this gets more similar to Tuxedo a few hours into the dry down. Tuxedo has vanilla-patchouli more forward and a more obvious rose accord, while Kismet for Men has a more forward vetiver. Both have excellent performance. Tuxedo outperforms. Contrast to Moustache EDP Rochas: This is a dupe of Moustache EDP Rochas and I would say it's about 90-95% similar although it might get more similar with an aged bottle. In Kismet for Men, vanilla-vetiver-patchouli does a good job of giving an impression of the benzoin in Moustache EDP Rochas. The opening fresh & warm spicy notes last longer in Kismet for Men, but the benzoin in Moustache EDP is more swoon-worthy for those who don't go nose-blind to it. Overall, this is a pretty good dupe, but not better than the OG Moustache EDP imho, since the benzoin is my favourite part. Moustache EDP has better performance, but it seems that many people go nose-blind to both of these. Overall: gorgeous evoked dried-tobacco-leaf scent with slightly above average performance. Even though I prefer Moustache EDP Rochas, this one is still a love for me and if I had never smelt Moustache EDP I would likely be blown away by Kismet for Men. Enjoy!

Smells woody, boozy, airy, warm spicy and oriental. It lacks depth and richness. It feels very airy and diluted. On my skin it has below average projection: projects within 1 feet for 30 minutes to 1.5 hours. Below average longevity: on skin, it lasts for 4-6 hours. But on clothes, it can last for 12+ hours. I was wearing this one time and got a comment from someone saying that what I was wearing "smells like something from south asia or the middle east". This is strictly worn on cold temperature and at night only. It doesn't fit daytime and can smell weird when it is hot. I like the scent, it is unique and warm. The opening smells regal for the first 30-50 minutes, it becomes softer, less spicy and more woodsy, after the opening. It continues to project for a few more minutes then it sits closer to the skin. I don't mind the 4-6 hours longevity at all. It's an okay fragrance. UPDATE: Tried layering it with Al Haramain's Detour Noir. 2 sprays of Detour Noir as base, then 2 sprays of Kismet for Men on top. For the first 2 hours Detour Noir was overpowering Kismet, but I could still faintly detect Kismet. The drydown was surprisingly very pleasant and rich. The prominent woody and patchouli note of Kismet greatly compliments the prominent vanilla note of Detour Noir, the vanilla became more intense. Longevity of this combo is 8 hours. Strong projection.

I'm posting this review to be informative for those looking at Kismet as an alternative to Rochas Moustache EDP. I found Kismet to be almost identical to Rochas Moustache EDP to the extent that it is most certainly a clone of that fragrance specifically as opposed to being a Tuxedo clone. Moustache & Kismet are as close to 1:1 that you can get in a fragrance. I find the main difference between the two is that Moustache has slightly more vanilla or better quality vanilla that makes it more noticeable. The difference is subtle, they are so close with Moustache having only slightly better performance and quality that it isn't even a factor in my opinion. Moustache is typically twice the price or more VS Kismet, and for that reason I think you are better off going with Kismet for the money. Side note: In my experience with Lattafa, letting the bottles sit for 2-4 months can really improve the performance. That's has been the case with OFG & Asad and the same is true for Kismet, after you give them time to develop they will improve.

I was apprehensive about wearing this after blind buying. On paper, this was very ambery and rosy, and a bit too gentle. I liked the notes and commentary provided on tuxedo and Moustache but this was the only one available and was pretty cheap so I jumped on it. I tried it on skin and to my nose, I get soft woods, light spice and rose. It was okay but nothing special. Tried it again a month later and I'm getting darker woods and more spices. The rose is there but it has settled down a lot and now I'm starting to like this a lot! It's easy to wear and pretty strong. It's just about 0 / 32 degrees where I'm at, could smell 2 sprays surprisingly well under all my layers and it maintained a decent bubble for 4 hours. Skin/clothing scent afterwards and I'm going on hour 10 and can still smell it. I'm wearing it at the office too so was a little worried at first but glad it calmed down...I feel lucky given the complaints below. This one grew on me. No regrets!

I’ll keep it short and sweet; this one will draw compliments on a cool evening. I had two great interactions my first time wearing it out and it was nice hearing from two different women that it was as nice as I think it is. I have not sampled Tuxedo, so I won’t try and compare the two. However, there is a familiar profile to this fragrance. I’m not sure how many will recall one by AMC Beauty called The OC, named after the TV series. Came in a blue bottle. At its price point ($10 at Walmart) when I originally purchased it back in 2008 maybe, it is one of my favorite fragrances for the summer. Kismet is much more refined, darker, and smooth, but in an odd way, a solid cold-weather version of The OC. It’s worth picking up and having in rotation while the temperatures are below 60. Most folks above 25 will likely enjoy it. Longevity is great on me, and the first few hours have me surrounded by a cozy cloud. Overall 9/10 for the price.

Someone said "this kismet not really close to tuxedo not the patchouli intensive", but that i'd love from lattafa perfume, they always been made their own twist not really duplicate from the original, even lattafa khamrah not really close to killian angel share (said by fraghead) but it has been my favorite all the time. In my opinion as newbie in fragrance this kismet like a tea and cold sensation, not a 'warm spicy' but soft spicy to me but this is kind aromatic and very pleasing in my nose like eros edt but without sweet notes. But when talked about performance sure isn't that great just moderate, can you overspray it? Yes, it is still safe for boosting this weak to moderate performance. Definitely my top 5 perfume from lattafa, really love the scent as it is. Rate 10/10 ✨ Edit: You can wore this on summer, my sweat has tea scent when using this fragrance, good enough to cover your smelly sweat 😬

My first encounter with "Kismet For Men" left me somewhat disappointed, however a revisit after about a month upgraded it to my favorites. Initially, a good overspray literally lasted about an hour at best, but the power of maceration led this frag into being quite a desirable, 6-hour performer. If there was ever a case for the validity of maceration, Kismet For Men would be it. It is most suitable for dressing up (minus pun), but this is one fragrance that can be enjoyed in a casual, intimate environment. There is such a mature presence about this fragrance that does not scream old man. I find it equally appropriate for a well put–together college–aged man and above. This may not be a loud, attention–seeking fragrance, but it is guaranteed to be noticed by anyone having a peculiar attraction to refinement. As long as it is available, Kismet For Men may never leave my collection~

The notes are incorrect. Simply put, this is a twin brother of Rochas Moustache. They smell so similar. The longevity on this one wasn’t great at first, but as it grew on me, I began to get longevity of over 10hrs. Projection is slightly above average. This is one of the greatest cheapies you can ever get. I also own a clone of YSL tuxedo called ‘Oak preference’, that one leans more in the direction of Tuxedo than Moustache. Kismet like I said is just like moustache, but with better longevity and slightly, VERY slightly lower quality, it took me time to realize how abrasive Kismet is when compared to Moustache. But I doubt if many people would even notice it. Just buy this, it’s addictive and signature scent worthy. Side note- This and Lattafa Asad have been my secret seductive weapon since 2 months now... 😉 Oh shit! I didn’t just reveal that! 😩😫

Ok this one is interesting. I got this as a gift, not knowing what it was or duping. So here's my unbiased observation: it's a sweet, woody, slightly spicy, leathery fragrance with a black tea note. The first time I sprayed it, the projection and longevity were pretty weak. After a few months of maceration, I can confirm that this fragrance has a great projection and longevity now. It's a gorgeous scent, unlike any fragrance I have ever smelled before! I later found out that this is supposed to be duping YSL Tuxedo, so I went to a store to smell Tuxedo and compare it. I'm no expert, but Tuxedo is somewhat different. Tuxedo is more patchouli, more floral, and more spicy than Kismet. Would this scratch the Tuxedo itch? I really don't know. But I do know I like Kismet more than Tuxedo.

This is my first time smelling a Maison Alhambra scent and it sets a good impression. Went into this sample blind and am very pleasantly surprised. It's sweet and bright on the opening which but a warm, woody sweetness as opposed to a synthetic sweetness. This can certainly be a unisex scent at least based on the opening, but I think it's easier for a man to pull off. As far as wearability, this would be strictly for date night or some other intimate setting. The spice is just a bit too strong to work in an office or formal setting. Considering this can be had for as low as $20 on sale, the smell alone is enough to tempt me to buy a full bottle minutes after trying it. I give it a solid 8.75/10

Full size bottle worthy! Signature scent worthy! On its own I rate it a 9 on a 10 scale. Compared to YSL Tuxedo it’s a 6, (because Tuxedo is sooooooo good). I have to stop myself from reaching for it so often. I’ve only worn it in late Fall and early Winter but I can see this as an 11 month fragrance (skip the high heat). I keep a travel atomizer in my gym bag on days I wear Kismet and if I think I might want to reapply I DO WITHOUT HESITATION because of the price/value. It was a blind buy and cost about the same as a 7ML Decant of YSL’s Tuxedo.

This is absolutely beautiful. Just imagine this is like a super affordable ‘sort of clone’ of YSL’s Tuxedo. I was totally mesmerised by Tuxedo after sampling it at an airport duty free. Instant love at first whiff! There was only one drawback, the price was sky high. When I tried Kismet for the first time I was delighted at how similar to Tux it was & buying Kismet was a no brainer. Eventually after a few years I went ahead and got Tux, it was an extreme self indulgence. 😋

17€ for this gem? Are you kidding me? I own Moustache too and they're so close, actually Kismet projects better but Moustache is smoother. I suppose you can easily blind buy it at this price point. UPDATE: after some months the performance becomes better. It lasts on my skin over 10 hours and projects much better than the first day.

This is a lot better than Rochas Moustache EDP for my taste. Moustache had too much pepper, whereas Kismet is much smoother and just generally a lot closer to Tuxedo in terms of scent. The performance is good when you do around 6 sprays, and the presentation is amazing! Highly recommend.

In my opinion, Kismet is the best affordable cologne of 2024. I initially wanted to purchase Kismet but was drawn to the more highly promoted Lattafa fragrances such as Khamrah. Indeed, Kismet has equal quality with Khamrah and is significantly cheaper. Amazing juice!!!!

This is really nice. I never smell YSL Tuxedo so I cannot compare. But on its own, Kismet for Men is spicy, woody and sweet. This is for mature men, not teenagers. 30 USD price tag for a bottle like this is a steal. No synthetic, pure quality. Good job, Maison!

Great classy, formal scent! Very similar to Tuxedo. Better than Moustache EDP in the fact that it is less harsh. Blended very well. Great performance, great sillage. Nice woody, sweet, scent with a hint of green vibes. Would definitely recommend.

Beautifully executed. The freshness reminds me of Mercedes Benz Le Parfum or Tom Form Ombre Leather but much gentler and a bit (good) powdery. I prefer mature notes and this one is so well balanced I don't mind wearing it for informal occassions.

Kismet is a beast mode fragrance! The woody notes hit you right away and then the patchouli, cacao, and coffee come in to create this warm, inviting scent. It lasts forever too - I get compliments all day long when I wear it.

This stuff shines on my skin. I get excellent projection and longevity every wear. I also have the Tux, but much prefer Kismet. This is so smooth and high quality, one of the best cheapies on the market today. 9/10

I personally enjoy kismet. I have this and tudor from paris corner and they smell the exact same to me. Only issue I have with these scents is I go nosebleed quickly. I'd still highly recommend. Smells very formal.

Women,please don't be deterred by the For Men Label.It's a great woody scent that both Men and Women can rock with Ease.The only problem is it doesn't last for too long before it deteriorate into an intimate scent.

Great fragrance, opens up with a burst of patchouli and sweet vanilla-leather reminiscent to ombre leather in this regard. Settles down to a smooth sweet leathery vanilla fragrance. Can't really beat it.

This stuff is amazing. Let it sit for a couple months and by the time colder weather hits it will last forever. Women love the smell of this. One of the best 20 dollar buys u can get for colder months.

This is truly a masterpiece. It lasts literally all day, 12 hrs plus in moderately warm weather. A beautifully blended mix of wood, spice, & vanilla. It is so sexy! Just love this one on my husband!

Kismet is much closer to Tuxedo than Moustache. Kismet replaces the abrasiveness of Moustache with a soft/sweet/wood that makes it way better IMO. Especially for the price!

This is a good fragrance but not a top one. The smell is not unique and it's a mix of mild tobacco and honey. It is unisex but more for men. My score is 8/10.

This has a very good performance and sillage, far better than the Rochas Moustache which has zero performance. The atomizer and the bottle are superb.

Amazing quality, smells kind of niche and has some vintage aspect that reminds me a bit to the drydown of gentleman 1974. Absolutely banger for $20!

Criminally underrated, for 30$ its a complete steal, I would pay 100$ for a new bottle if need be.

I have this fragrance, and I love it. I never smelled tuxedo before, but I smelled fragrances inspired by it, and kismet is similar to fragrances inspired by tuxedo. I also sampled the tux by maison Alhambra, and its scent profile is close to kismet. I do think from the presentation and bottle that they were trying to clone straight to heaven by Killian not tuxedo, never tried straight to heaven, but if someone could find a similarity between kismet and straight to heaven just tell me. As for the scent profile, it is fresh green little bit spicy, and also a little bit sweet,I think the sweetness comes from cacao and vanilla, the scent also is smooth not harsh or overly spicy, I don't detect coffee. The scent profile is a fresh green patchouli with little spices and little sweetness, it is not overly masculine, but it is unisex leaning more masculine due to patchouli and spices combo. Projection and longevity are moderate which is OK for this scent profile. This fragrance is one of the best value for money in the market. I do recommend this fragrance for the lovers of fresh, green spicy scent profiles with little sweetness. For the price this is a steal, if you like this scent profile. And even if you don't , I don't see why not this fragrance cannot grow on you. I never smelled Tuxedo or Moustache or any of its clones, so I was not sure of what to expect. The opening is a green, sweet and earthy mess. Not very pleasant yet you can tell that it will evolve in something very interesting. It's like grass, earth, nutmeg sweetness and patchouli. Smells like rotting vegetation with a sweet hint. The dry down is much better, with a prominent nutmeg, the sweetness of the vanilla, and still a subtle earthy note (thankfully not as strong as the opening). It lasts several hours, up to 6-7 in my experience, but it does not project lots, fortunately because this profile might not be for everyone. I was lucky I bought it blind and I actually liked it, I'm 47 and this scent profile suits my lifestyle. This is NOT a juvenile fragrance and it is not versatile, not something you can wear everyday because you can get bored of it. The nutmeg note is strong and can become a bit cloying. I'd recommend this to men 35+, for special occasions, gala or cocktail, even for a romantic date watching not to over apply.

Another blind buy due to the price. It was cheap and I was curious if this was better than turathi brown. This isn't something I would wear normally. It's not bad but it's just not what I'm used to. Perhaps I need time to get used to it. This is very close to ATB with some minor differences but also a lot cheaper. There is unfortunately something very off putting in both of these scents that reminds me of manure or burnt rubber/plastic. They smell better after a while but it's just something I don't like and yet there's something magnetic about it . I believe in maceration although the ATB hasn't got much better this one has. Again , the strong sale point for this is it's low price. In conclusion: Good if you like these kind of scents. It's a love or hate type of fragrance in my opinion. I have no idea what the OG smells like but if it's close to this I'm happy that I didn't spend money on it.

At first, I looked at the notes and figured this would be a very dad-ish scent, but I was very surprised as to the level of sophistication it had. To anyone viewing the notes and being in doubt as to whether it's for them, I want to emphasize that it's a fragrance that's overall very well rounded, with plenty of depth and character. It's overall sweet even with some beautifully complementing spicy notes, although though the notes on here might seem kind of focused on woodiness and spice. It's not a fragrance that'll pull your nosehairs out, It's a scent that smells like it's wearer ought to be; confident, but not loud. It's a fragrance that doesn't quite fit the younger crowd. Can definitely be worn by young guys, but it doesn't have the same oomph as it does when you're in your 30's or 40's. It's not a scent that requires you to wear a suit, but it would go perfectly with one.

A very nice fragrance once you know what it is and very good for its price. If you only look at the listed notes, you might conclude this is a gourmand. That was my expectation when I got it as a blind buy and sprayed it the first time. It took a few seconds to change my mind set and recognize what I was smelling. It isn’t close to the same fragrance category as Kismet Angel or Khamrah (gourmand fragrances from the same house). This is a leather fragrance embellished with the spices listed as the notes. Some of the Maison Alhambra fragrances have beastly performance. Toscano Leather comes to mind. Unfortunately, this isn’t one of them. However, there are a lot of fragrances that cost many times as much with no better performance that don’t smell any better. For its price, its a very good leather fragrance touched with some spices.

Just received this one today and these are my first impressions: The opening smells to me like a green version of Bentley for men intense, just for the first couple minutes, to then sit as a nice leathery, spicy warm scent. It's not very easy to pick on yourself while wearing it, and it doesn't seem to project for very long, but so far I'm liking it a lot. I haven't tried moustache nor Tuxedo, so take this as a standalone comment, not as a clone. Edit: after a couple days of use I've spent several sprays just to get some longevity out of this, it smells pretty good but it's gone in a blink. That's pretty sad, I'm hopeful that after some shelf time with some air in the bottle some things could change

It’s a ‘very light’ Moustache. Pros: the scent feels high-quality. You can recognise the Tuxedo DNA. It’s pleasant to wear. The presentation is that of an expensive fragrance. Cons: the longevity. Very short. The sillage is moderate. For the price it’s now at (10 dollars around here), it’s a safe bet as an introduction to the world of Tuxedo. If you already like the notes: I’d recommend spending a little more and going for the Rochas version, without a doubt. In my case, as it doesn’t last long for going out, it’s one of my favourite fragrances for going to bed.

I think the notes are incorrectly listed. I get rose, patchouli for the dirty earthy feel in the dry down, vetiver, vanilla, and a bit of sandalwood to give the syrupy sweetness a curve to make it pleasant. I do not get the coffee or cacao or nutmeg. Rather something sugary syrupy. My skin type is not too dry or oily. Smells 60% similar to Rochas Moustache. I have a brand new bottle with only 3 sprays used to test it. It was a blind buy for me. I can trade this in since I already have Rochas Moustache, if interested please reach out to me. Overall a good scent.

Just bought this and spray on my wrist for a try, the presentation is Fabulous!! For the scent, its sweet all the way from beginning til the end, gourmand fragrance for sure. The sweetness isn't over cloying. I get some of nutmeg and Patchouli in the beginning together with the vanilla sweetness, then after a while vanilla gets more prominent and a hint of rose which makes it special and not too gourmand. For the performance, its lighter than other Lattafa , so need to spray a bit more and Iongevity is actually ok. Overall still worth the money 😍

#673 in my "Tour de Fragrance" Back in December '23 I reviewed a decant of YSL Tuxedo which I labeled "a $270 bottle of $55 Rochas Moustache EDP." This is a $25 scent that's halfway between Rochas Moustache EDT and Rochas Moustache EDP in potency. Smells close to the Rochas but lasts half the day while the Rochas EDP is an all day and on to the next morning scent. This one lasts till lunch, so it's perfectly acceptable for the price point. Like Rochas it's completely versatile and likeable and you really can't go wrong blind buying this at $25.

I’ve had this for 2 years now and only wear it in winter/fall. Generally people around me likes it more than I do, and surely, it has gotten me compliments more often than not. However it’s not my favorite by any means. It has a green note that’s very potent, combined with the noticeable nutmeg. The base is nice and smooth though. 2 sprays max wil get you through and for sure, it will get you noticed. Not for everyone, specially not for younger fellas and I would avoid in hot/tropical countries.

I purchased a bottle of this just to see if it was any good. I immediately purchased a second bottle after smelling it the first time. It smells fantastic. On clothes it lasts a pretty long time. I’d say around 10 hrs or so with moderate projection. It’s worth a purchase if you’re wanting a nice suit and tie fragrance at a great price.

Wow I am in love with this, man is this ever good. Picture a tree that has fallen in a lush forest that crushed some cacao and nutmeg on the way down. It's amazing and I can see myself using this in any sort of situation ranging from date night to family dinners.

If you like tuxedo like I do you’ll want to get a dupe of it so you don’t run through your bottle of tuxedo. Kismet is good for how close it is. I do find the patchouli to be more earthy and up front but I don’t see hardly anymore differences
