Monocline 02

Okay now, this is BRILLIANT. This is the first time that I'm trying something close to a Skin Scent. I always wondered how those "one note" perfumes -to be honet they're are much less than a perfume in a way that is not a cocktail of several notes- smelled like and this is magnificent. An interesting, dilluted, citrusy, sugary opening. Underneath the energetic but airy opening there is a definite amber that makes the things go a little bit heavier. Although it comes, does it's job and goes away fairly quickly so, you're stuck with a wonderful, citrusy, super light, somewhat cherry-ish smell. I did not layer it with any perfume that I have for now, I would definitely try that too but I can see Monocline 02 has the potential to be an everyday, clean smelling, somewhat cherry infused, citrusy freshie by it's own. It's brilliant, has an amazing price point and I sincerely feel that it could be a better alternative to it's predecessor Escentric Molecules 02.

6 months ago I was unable to smell this, immediately nose blind upon spraying. Today I was bored so I applied it and could immediately smell a light soft citrus and woods note. It was actually quite pleasant, I applied two sprays to each wrist and took a nap. I woke up from my nap and could immediately smell it again. I think after time my nose has developed due to being in the “fragrance” community. This thing is so beautiful and cheap. I’ve never smelled real molecule 02 but this inspiration/dupe version is absolutely beautiful. It’s very reminiscent of a stripped down version of mont blanc starwalker. I layered this with Prada L’homme intense today and it might be my favorite layering combination EVER. I’m definitely going to wear this by itself tomorrow and just enjoy it. It’s now a comfort scent for me.

A fresh and clean scent that reminds me the last sprays of a can of male antiperspirant in aerosol, those when the original aroma is almost vanished. This fragance really shines in layerings: I tried in one arm three sprays of Derby Club House Blanche vs one spray of DCHB over Monocline 02. Layering improved amazingly the performance of this fragance: sillage, duration, without changing perceptively the notes. I've tried it alone, I love the simple, clean and somehow familiar scent of ambroxan. It's minimalist at best, a completely different experience. Next layering was with Cocktail of Fragrance World and I love the result. I must say I'm not particularly a fan of the Angel Share DNA. The added a masculine fresh touch to this fragrance and I can wear it now.

Weirdly dreamy and nostalgic, makes me think of a certain memory I cannot really pinpoint. Smells clean, somewhat soft and somewhat fresh, almost feels like there are some added citrusy top notes. Different than expected and great for value, when layering it makes other fragrances smell somewhat softer (not as in longevity/projection but more as in feel), gives me whiffs of random warm and comfy "something" later in the drydown, but it's odd cause those whiffs come and go, when I stick my nose to the spot I sprayed on I cannot feel it again. Definitely works better on the skin, melts into something warmer and more pleasant. Has an interesting liminal feeling to it.

Monocline 02 by Maison Alhambra is elegance in a bottle. It's a "your skin but better" type of scent. Musky, chic, not headache inducing, radiates softly, very affordable and effortlessly beautiful. It worked for me; thus, I consider myself very lucky.

Decent molecular ambroxan scent that seems to have other light notes of E02 in it. Good for layering everything to give it the extra depth.

Well blended, long lasting, very nice fresh scent. For this price! Highly recommended.

The appears to be a clone of Molecule 02, but in reality leans closer to Escentric 02. This opens will a citrusy amber that gives way to some jasmine-like florals. Dry down is a clean musk/wood blend that is very pleasant. Longevity is about 4-5 hours, not terrible, not great, and it has a soft projection at best. Being only $20/ea, you can afford to spray heavy, or just reup at lunch. Blind buy safe, unisex to me. Office safe, no one could hate this (unless they do?) I have tried layering this, and haven’t noticed any difference in longevity to the original scent. Since this isn’t a projection beast, you usually can’t really detect it under something else. TL,DR; Typical, easy to wear freshie. Very unisex.

Soft projection. Light scent, barely noticeable... but the scent lingers for a long time (especially on clothes), as you occasionally catch a whiff. Unsure about whether or not this is good to layer? I like it. Perfectly okay for the office, gym, plane, anyplace you don't want anything loud and overpowering. It's less than $20, so don't be afraid to overspray. Wore it to the doctor's office today and it was fine. Light and fresh. Very nice!

Monocline 02 is my new bestie for making my perfumes last forever – seriously, they smell amazing for days! I snagged it for $20, and it's like a magic potion. It makes even my wimpy perfumes smell as strong as the big boys. I'm grabbing Monocline 01 tomorrow, too! Such a steal for anyone who wants their scents to stick around.

Despite the name, I think this is intended to copy Escentric 02, not Molecule 02. But it remains fairly simple. Light all-occasions daytime fragrance, good for men or women, unlikely to offend anyone. Overall longevity is limited, but for $20 one can afford to respray after three or four hours.

Nice ambroxan bomb, altough it’s not purely that. It has some more not listed notes. Kind of citrusy and I personally smell apple in it. Anyways, it works as a base for layering as well as a standalone fragrance. Great addition to any collection for €10.

I agree with the most recent reviewer, this smells much more like Escentric 02 than Molecule 02. While I like Escentric 02, I was hoping for just straight ambroxan. This is more woody, slightly spicy. edit - it smells a lot like a gin and tonic to me

this is very citrcy ambroxan. perhaps the extrait concentration would be better.

Never smelt ambroxan on its own but there's definitely a citrus/floral note that last quite long in this. It's like white grapefruit meets florals. I can detect some woody muskiness in this as it dryes down I guess it must be ambroxan but I'm not sure it I'm able to smell it at all. It smells like cedarwood mixed with extremely dry grated coconut but with lots of a musky fullness that is more a sensation than a smell to me. Maybe that's what ambroxan smells like to me. Could somebody enlighten us what's all about?

No sé como definir este olor, pero es como oler zanahoria cocida al vapor mezclado con el olor de un cuchillo de acero al carbono luego de cortar una manzana. No es desagradable. Probé layering con algunas fragancias de poca duración y no les alarga la vida para nada. Una fragancia para después de la ducha y a dormir. Perfume para bebés.

i hate how woody and citrusy this is it gives off clean but not in the best way

Was looking for a pure ambroxan scent because I love the drydown of LV frehies with ambroxan bases and looking for a cheap alternative when I just want that drydown vibe. It's one aromatic ingredient, available from perfumery suppliers in bulk made by one company so how hard can it be to do right? Well, whatever Lataffa/Maison Alhambra did, they did it wrong somehow. It's nothing like the Ambroxan found in LV even though Ambroxan is a patented proprietary name/ingredient so should be the same thing. Waste of money.

It has virtually no smell at all, and to top it off, it gives you a headache! Instantly...

This has nothing to do with Molecule 02, this is 90% Irish Leather by Memo. People voting that it is similar to Molecule 02 needs to see Otolaryngology Unit.

Yes, as others have already mentioned, this perfume is not solely ambroxide (Ambroxan). There are some top notes of citrus and pepper, which do tint the composition. ...but as the drydown progresses, the scent does become ever more ambroxide-ambery. I really like this. I think most ambroxide lovers would. Of course, I realize that some people are anosmic to the molecule, while other seem to perceive it as something unpleasant. My condolences. This variation in olfactory perception may also explain some of the divisiveness with regards to Baccarat-type fragrances, since they are also somewhat minimalist, pared-back, ambroxide scents. Thinking about monomolecular perfumes, also has me wondering if there is a monomolecular perfume for Evernyl (synthetic oakmoss)? Does anyone know? (Yes, I suppose one can always buy the molecule in dilution from a supplier). But an actual perfume could be very nice, especially if tweaked to more fully approach the scent of natural oakmoss. I guess I'm ready for a Monocline 06, or Molecule 06, or whatever it's called.

It's so unfair that I'm anosmic to Ambroxan (I can smell it sometimes for a moment and a would love it, but then it's gone). I was really hoping I’d at least be able to pick up something from it, but sadly, all I get is a faint citrus note—nothing else comes through. And yet, hours later, others still say it smells amazing and very noticeable (at least on my skin). I just can't experience it myself.

@RekinPredator420 You put in words what I was unable to describe. It touches something known but unnamed in my memory. Amazing experience. I love it all the way through. Green citrusy start that after 30 minutes turns into warm woody middle to end as soft leather. On masculine side.

In terms of the perfume dna perspective, from what I actually perceive according my experience, the Iris note is more prominent taking into consideration that it is an ambroxan perfume. Overall, the perfume is very very likeable and croud pleaser.

Doesn’t last that long. But for the prince it’s okey i guess 3/5
