Montaigne Coco

First impressions: Okay, I sprayed this and my initial reaction wasn't so good. First try was giving a super strong synthetic floral vibe....mostly the peach, Tiare flower & Ylang Ylang. Wasn't getting the coconut or vanilla etc. I was disappointed tbh. I almost gave a review then but thought better of it. Properly tried it again later and it had already settled down quite a bit. I'm now getting most of the notes and yes, the coconut is coming through. I'd actually describe this scent as an old school tanning oil. Specifically the oil, not the lotion. They've somehow captured the smell texture of suntan oil. It seems like a good performer but I'll have a better idea of that in the future. I'm truly liking it now and feel like it will get even better in the coming weeks & months. Will update with a final review then. Forgot to address the bottle. I wasn't expecting much from the looks of it online but was quite surprised at it's quality. It's a thick glass bottle with a full metal lid/top that is quite heavy. :) Editing with a little update next day: I'm giving it a bit of a wear today and really loving it. It mellows out into a soft delicious, almost fluffy, beach goddess type smell around you. Still very old school tanning oil (like mentioned in a few other reviews, think 90's/00's Hawaiian Tropic oils, not sunscreen). Very happy I got this. Just know it comes on very strong and even unpleasant when bottle is newly opened but that changes. ;) Adding...that after wearing this I can 100% say this is a sweet beast mode fragrance. Wore strongly all day and well into the next. Edited update April 20th: It's been over 3 months and it still smells/feels like suntan oil/lotion but it's gotten much more lactonic & creamy. Even the florals are softer & creamier. It's giving beachy & luscious fluffy clouds of sweetness. Love it. :) Just a heads up: The Amazon link on here goes to Montaigne Vanille (which is Mancera Roses Vanille inspired) and not this scent, Montaigne Coco. The bottles look almost identical, at least online. Coco's juice is just a bit darker though. ;)

Montaigne Coco is like a glorious creamy-coconut cocktail on the beach, with a frangipani lei around your neck and a cinematic sunset unscrolling behind the sea. It's so great right out of the box that I can't even imagine how good it will be in a few months. It is pretty much the coconut-tropical floral-vanilla-amber of my dreams, and it cost less than any of the contenders in my collection. It's as good as my beloved Cocolicious, and it cost half as much for twice as much, in a much better bottle. (I still have all the love for Dua--this is just a reminder to me that cost and quality are not always synonymous, especially when you bring the Middle Eastern brands into the running.) I can't believe how good this is, and I hope they never stop making it. The bottle is great, too, a perfect balance of form and function. The metal cap clicks into place in an vaguely addictive way that reminds me of my beloved bottle of Chanel Misia. (I'm sure the other Les Exclusifs have that feature, but a 2016 bottle of Misia is the only one I have that isn't in a little travel bottle.)

Edit: 15 . 5. 26 I know it's been just a couple of days since I received this....but today it seems to have evolved into a delicious coconut cake, so I am drooling and want to bit my arm. Nothing was wrong with my first perception, but as a lover of adult gourmands....I am in heaven ❣️ Original: It's a cold ,windy ,cloudy day here in Germany on the 12th of May...Coco arrived for a burst of summer promise....but I wouldn't say this is only for summer. It is strong, but in a great way. My bottle seems to already be matured because it smells Devine. I do notice the Tiara, but not overwhelming, otherwise I wouldn't like it. The Coconut is so gorgeous here, creamy , elegant. I haven't had much luck with Coconut, so this makes up for it I imagine a very elegant person wearing this, dressed all in white . It is creamy. Luxurious! Addictive! It's a love Mr Alhambra 🩷

I've been compared them both, the og mancera coco vanille and montaigne coco, in my nose the opening of coco vanille it has strong floral notes so prominent and sexier, while the montaigne still has floral opening but not way too strong like the og and it has the same way and vibes. I could say this montaigne coco similarity to the og around 75-85%, the opening slightly different but the drydown is very similar to coco vanille. Still not the best clone of coco vanille but hey it only cost around 20 bucks, performance are moderate to strong. Of course the og ten times sexier rather than this clone, i love this coco vanille so much for sure, such heavenly and irresistible scent on woman 😩 But let's give the rating on this, overall rating 8/10 ✨

Strong vanilla coconut scent! Great for summer. This is almost identical to Qaed Al Fursan white, difference with Coco is its a tad sweeter and not as spicy on dry down. Coco is very nice, but I have noticed after time the dry down is like a strong, rather more mature powder smell. I wouldn't say baby powder, just powdery. I need to let this sit on a shelf for a while. Its nice , but my nose isn't jiving with this one as much as I had hoped. When I bought this in the summer time I loved it for a about a week or so. Its has the suntan oil smell to it that I LOVE! But now in the fall , I'm getting a powdery smell that I am not liking. hoping this will smell better by next summer!

Hands down one of my favorite sweet vanilla coconut sunscreen fragrances. She's so creamy sweet with hints of fruit. One of the few peach note fragrances I enjoy 😉. The florals are quiet in the background. The Ylang-Ylang is assisting with the creamy vibe along with the vanilla I would say. The woody note is just a supportive addition to add some 'depth '. But this is mostly sweet vanilla coconut sunscreen. I'm on my second bottle and one for backup,lol. Love it. I did notice that she shared notes and similar to Sunkissed Goddess, but they are maybe sisters. Sunkissed Goddess is the big sister with the florals more up front and not as sunscreen coconut creamy.

At first this fragrance gave me nothing at all. I kept going back once a week and finally just stopped. Two months later I tried again and WOW! The peach jumped into the coconut and covered itself with Jasmine and Vanilla. I love my Kayali Utopia Vanilla Coco and I couldn't understand how they can be compared. Makes a lot of sense now. They are not the same, its Pear vs Peach. Both smell amazing. Montaigne is more potent of course. Updated: Utopia Vanilla Coco has been in my inventory for over two years and it is very potent. I put it on the other day and it lasted from morning to bedtime. These are both amazing.

This is a lovely fluffy comforting scent. I pick up vanilla, coconut, peach and tiare flower. I wear it usually when I'm at home and feel like being comforted, e.g a cool rainy day snuggled up with a book, after a shower in the evening watching tv or a nice spring day warm but not too hot. I don't think I've ever once chosen to wear it out of the house but I like it for home, its nice simple, feminine and cuddly. It lasts about 5 hours. 7.5/10

Omg, this coconut is divine. So many coconut fragrances are too heavy on fruit or spice. This is just pure coconut smelling. It stands on its own or I layer with Tom Ford Soleil de fue. Longevity is moderate and overall scent is a 10. For reference I do not like heavy lactonic pineapple smells. I do love a good coconut note. I had to go through so many to finally find this. Worth every penny.

I do separate the coconut here. This has a nice, moderate florality and a lot of that sugary, liqueur-like booziness. I don't distinguish woody elements at all, the base is formed by a balanced, light make-up powder to me. After drying this smells very toffee like, and the performance of this is reasonable. I think this fragrance will be excellent in a few months.

Smells like a cross between Qaed Al fursan unlimited and Kayali’s Utopia, leaning more towards Utopia imo! It’s really sweet and creamy. I’m still testing the longevity but right out of the box the projection is poor to moderate. After a few weeks locked away I’m hoping it gets better. The color of the juice is pretty and the bottle is heavy and high quality!

For me it's like coconut oil, with a hint of florals that's very powdery. I was kinda on the fence when I first received it, but I've had it for about 5 months now and it has gotten a bit stronger. I think it's such an addictive and beautiful scent. I like wearing this on colder days because it's comforting, but this can be worn in warmer weather too.

This is truly a gem! I love the creamy coconut, the tiare flower & yang ylang. For the type of fragrance it is, I find it really lasts. I smell it on myself the next morning. It’s the perfect Island/ beach house holiday fragrance. I’ve heard it lasts better than the one it’s inspired by; Coco vanille.

My favorite coconut fragrance!!! Bought this after it was recommended by Val and Maria Collect and I am in LOVE. This is a creamy coconut vanilla with the tiare and ylang ylang in the background. I love layering this with Yara Tous for the perfect vacation vibe combination. Such an underrated gem!!

Mm this perfume is so yummy and sweet, I am in love. Someone in the comments described it correctly. It is like a creamy coconutty vanillic cocktail (think pina colada but replace the fruits and add a dose of creamy vanilla). Nothing like Qaed Al Fursan which I did not enjoy.

Oh my, this is gorgeous! I don’t know what the OG smells like, but if it’s the same or better than this, it is amazing! I get whiffs of coconut, sweet white flowers and vanilla and it’s so lovely. I want to wear this all summer long.

This perfume has a sweet scent with a distinct coconut note, which I absolutely love since I’m a fan of anything coconut. It also has a creamy, caramel-like aroma, but to me, it leans more towards a masculine vibe.

Bought this for my girl because she wanted coco vanilla frag and i really enjoy the smell on her. Projection is rather on the soft side, intimate one and it works really well for exactly such occasions.

It was really strong and sharp when I first got it, ands thankfully it's gotten so much better in a month. The dry down is absolutely gorgeous!! I get creamy vanilla, coconut, and monoi! so pretty!

The search is over... I’ve finally found the coconut scent that I wanted all other coconut scents to be. It’s not too sunscreen-like, not too dense or oily, and definitely no smokiness. It’s tropical, sweet, and creamy. It strikes the perfect balance, evoking the image of a warm, sunny day on a beautiful, exotic beach straight out of a postcard, where the breeze carries hints of florals, soft vanilla, and coconut bliss—bright, fun, and full of happy vibes. Update: 11/15/24 It’s gotten very strong, so I have to be careful with the sprays; otherwise, it becomes too heady. For me, 1–2 sprays from arm’s length away are usually enough. Update: 07/11/25 I recently picked up Qaed Al Fursan (white bottle) and I have to say—I like it better than Montaigne Coco. MC was lovely and delicate when I first got it but now about 10 months later the white florals have really taken over. What started as a soft, creamy scent has become more floral-forward than I’d prefer. I still use it but just 1-2 sprays usually to layer with QAF. At least for now Qaed Al Fursan feels more balanced to me. It still has that freshness I enjoy but with a creamier twist that doesn’t become overwhelming.

I'm surprised this fragrance isn't talked about more as a dupe for 'Miami City Rhythm.' The bottle is a mirror image, and on paper, the notes are a close second, though I haven't experienced Miami City Rhythm myself to compare. What I can say is that after the initial burst of coconut, sunscreen, and rum dusted with the subtle hint of peach that's very quiet in the background, I'm delighted to find ylang-ylang taking center stage over jasmine in the dry down. It absolutely evokes a laid-back, carefree sandy warm beach vacation vibe that I adore. In terms of longevity, it lasts a solid 10+ hours on my skin. I agree with some — despite the tropical sense it brings, it may be too heavy for the warmest of days. A light walk-through spray rather than direct application on the skin might be the perfect way to wear it on those days! All of this combined makes it a definite winner and a keeper, especially considering the price — I'm genuinely impressed and can't wait to wear more of it in the cooler months!

I've only had this for two days but I constantly find myself reaching for it multiple times throughout the day. This concoction reminds me of tropical beaches and coconut oil on a well tanned, knows-what-she-wants woman. Yes, it's sweet, yes it gives those sunscreen vibes but that's exactly what's so appealing about this scent. Fortunately for me the vanilla/coconut notes are more pronounced. I've read others mostly pick up the floral notes. I feel it's a well-rounded perfume overall, well worth it's price. Definitely a successful blind buy!

Such a sexy perfume, it's so alluring and attractive the coconut is instant to fill the air. I keep spraying just to smell it so I can agree that it's addicting. Definitely a summer to the beach type of perfume; reminds me specifically of the heats that summer provides. It's also very gentle on the skin with the later notes that bloom so if your not that big on coconut you won't need to worry as it's mostly present at the start of the spray and later on it blends to the exact musk and vanilla's that will surely ease your nose.

I bought this at summer, and I had mixed feelings about this, because the notes were all over the place, and I hardly detected any peachiness in it. The months passed, liquid darkened, maceration did the job and the concoction is done! Now it's a beautiful coconutty-peach fragrance! And VERY long lasting, on skin 8+ hours, on clothes I can smell it on the next day! I started to kinda use it in the cooler months when I feels like it to boos my mood😅, but I recommend this as a daytime summer vacation scent.

The scent was gone almost before it dried on my skin. If I pressed my nose, I got a hint of Ylang Ylang & Tiare. Wow. I can't think of any fragrance that made such a disappearing act on me. It came out stronger but... whoosh gone. Hopefully for others it's much better. I wanted this to be so good. The notes were very promising but performance -5/10. smh 😒

This predominantly smells like roasted coconut, peach, and vanilla. I get no florals here. If you want to smell edible, this one’s for you. The sillage is massive. The first time I wore it my student could smell me from upstairs and asked what I was wearing and I smelt absolutely delicious. Also it lasts till you wash it off. Amazing stuff, 4/5 overall.

#763 in my "Tour de Fragrance" Another scent I bought as a gift. To me this is tropical beach wear. She agreed. It's definitely an imitation of Mancera "Coco Vanille", though not as potent, and which to me has always seemed to hint of coconut oil tanning bed lotion, but the girl I gave it to loved it, and that's all that matters to me.

I hated it once I got it.. didn't appreciate the hair oil kinda smell.. but after ten minutes it became super sweet and addicting.. it smelt like cleanliness idk if that makes sense.. performance is phenomenal too and projection is great. I also loved the montaigne vanille one, maybe more than this one.. definitely a steal

Besides my beloved Terracotta from Guerlain,I have tried and tried so many coconut fragrances and I couldn't find something that I actually like until I found montaigne coco. For me this is the most wearable coconut so far. I'm going to use it a lot at the summertime. A really nice one!!!

To me, Montaigne Coco smells like a fruity pot-pourri. Nothing summery or tropical about this. There are much better options out there. This smells nothing like Kayali Utopia, which is one of my favourite summer fragrances. Will see if the fragrance or my nose will change over time.

A very simple fragrance, but it is well done. Mostly coconut and sweet caramel but it's warm and almost ambery. Yes, it does remind of 90's sunscreen. Rarely wear it on its own, it's great for layering and just have around and sniff and feel a little uplifted.

Anyone who loves Monoi Tiki Tahiti Tiare oil will like this.

It's good but too generic and annoying for me

I have both Montaigne Coco and Montaigne Vanille ( Roses Vanille). The quality of the scents and bottles for both is good. Roses Vanille is really sweet i must say, I would prefer less sweet. Coco is not as sweet and it’s not a straight dupe for Mancera Coco Vanille , as Montaigne Coco has a very prominent tiare flower note, which coco vanille doesn’t have as far as I remember. But the vibe and structure of the scent is the same as Coco Vanille. To my nose Montaigne Coco is not lactonic and doesn’t have noticeable woody notes (as Quaeed al Fursan ) also no citruses here. iIt’s dense oily in the opening and powdery if sprayed in the air. It gives me sunscreen wibes but it’s sunscreen oil not lotion :) I don’t enjoy it as i prefer more coconut centered and less tiare in my beachy fragrances. The longevity is very good- stayed for 3 days on the clothes. I think projection is also good - people will notice your scent for sure. Depends of course how much you spray. For me I couldn’t have tolerated more than 2 sprays on the body! not on the neck for sure. Montaigne Vanille longevity is less, but the projection is good. This one is not as dense and i can tolerate spraying it a bit more sprays and closer to my neck :)

I think this is gonna be one of those Fragrances that I'm just going to struggle with no matter what. If you don't enjoy coconut, then you may not enjoy this because the coconut note is the most prominent note. I don't get much else, just a TON of toasted coconut. It smells boozy as well, even though no booze is listed. It's quite sweet as well (in a natural sweetness of the coconut sort of way). I just wish I got more of something else from this fragrance. Maybe some more floral notes, or something....but no......that coconut is the most prominent note in this, and for me, it's completely overwhelming. This has a slight powdery touch, but it's pretty minimal. (And it's not that baby powder smell) This reminds me so much of a toasted coconut rum........ Eve with my bottle being brand new, and not having a chance to macerate, the performance is crazy good ..... I sprayed this in my room on the very first day I had got it and I could smell it the ENTIRE day. This fragrance has LOTS of oils in it too. So keep that in mind if you're going to spray it on your clothing. Because the coconut is so thick and rich, I really think would would work in the fall as well, not just in the spring and summer.

The bottle looks expensive, it's heavy and full glass. The perfume opens with a thick molasses scent, and in the background you can smell a sharp synthetic, intense floral scent. There's an undertone of oily coconut in the whole scent. After the scent develops into a soapy floral scent you can't really smell the coconut. I don't know if I'll ever wear it. I guess I'll always reach for a different scent. The top of composition and the first impression after spraying it is really... heavy, not pleasant. It feels like it's a very cheap perfume. I guess the price we pay is actually the price of the packaging. Dunno but i will update this rew. if will be any evolving notes in it. Update, the scent has matured into a heavy, bold scent of coconut sunscreen lotion that doesn't disappear from the room where I sprayed it for up to 2 days😷

Coconut what ?? All I get from the first spray is a tiare flower bomb... tiare, tiare, and some more tiare. I mean, it's not bad, but it's a single-note perfume that stays pretty much the same all the way. It reminds me of '70s-style perfumes. It has an extremely loud opening—to the point my eyes were tearing. Man... this is not what I expected at all. I wish I could detect a hint of that alleged coconut everyone is talking about... One good thing: this perfume has great longevity and projection. Total beast mode. I feel like it could work really well in layering when you want to boost another scent with sweetness and tropical florals.

Maison Alhambra have a lot of great, 10/10, no-notes copies of famous fragrances (I can't tell their dupes for L'Interdit, Perfect Intense, Scandal, Libre apart from the OGs) but this is just not one of them. Coco Vanille is way better blended and more sophisticated than this. Montaigne Coco just smells like sunscreen. It's not an unpleasant smell and I guess in this case you get what you paid for, but since I am familiar with a lot of other dupes from Maison Alhambra, I know they can do better than that and I expected more.

I love to try everything with coconut, or vanilla, but this is a big NO for me. Right after spraying it I've felt 30 years older. The flowers and powdery notes and musk takes over the whole scent, and it smells like a perfume you've found in your grandma's attic, and you wanted to try how she smelled in her young age, when she was partying. Well, exactly like this! Tried maturation, did not help, sold it, never see it again.

I’m hopeful that this will change with time. After three days, this is mostly vanilla, thick ylang ylang, and coconut. I believe that I just am not crazy about ylang. I have only had this for a few days, so it is possible this will develop into a love. As of now, the banana smell chokes out everything else. Not for me. Fingers crossed this develops well!🤞🏻

I’ve let this sit for 2-3 months and started using it in May. Was looking for a floral coconut tropical feeling fragrance. Settled for this because the price was too good to pass up, under $20. But it’s not for me. I think it might be ok for casual day wear when you want something vanilla with not a whole lot else. Might be too much for very hot days.

I had blind bought it an year ago and gave it away not 5 months after the purchase. Don't get me wrong the scent is beautiful but it was too strong for my liking. It is a very projection heavy perfume but at the same time it kinda stood out compared to for example the then popular yara perfumes. I would recommend it ONLY if you can try it in stores!

I really love this. I’ve been searching for the perfect sunscreen/tanning oil scent for depressing winter days and those summer days you want to be a beach goddess without the actual spf. This seems to check all the boxes. It is very dense but I found the sweet spot is 3-4 sprays. Not screechy or nauseating. This bottle will last me forever.

Main use for this was layering with very woody perfumes and make a really nice combination. By itself is too sweet and I don't get why it's put in summer. I like it since I'm into sweet fragrances but even for me it's a little much by itself. Layering is amazing so it's a 7/10

Has this a couple of weeks and as yet hardly any coconut and not creamy I shall leave in a drawer and come back to it as the reviews show that should help it develop I love fursan white unlimited hopefully this will turn out similar

On first sniff, I only get the tiare flower/monoi oil. I'm realizing that although i love that smell, I might not wear a perfume that smells like it😂 Will let it sit for a while and try again.
