Gentle Oud

I wanted to try something different for a change and I picked a fragrance that otherwise wouldn't have got my attention. And I tried this one, mostly because I find the bottle very cute, but I also wanted to try more woody perfumes. At first sniff, I said to myself that I clearly made a mistake with this one, because to me this smelled like some gas or fuel, and I really hated it. Fortunately, I sprayed it on my shirt, because the package arrived a few minutes before I had to go to work and I couldn't wait until evening to test it. I didn't think too much of it, trying to ignore it, but after an hour or so I started to pick up something very pleasant, and I had no idea what that was at the moment. It was something truly charming, warm, soothing, ambery, floral and woody, aromatic. I couldn't stop sniffing around. I did receive some compliments and few colleagues asked me what was I wearing. It's very persistent. After a day of work I could still smell the scent pretty strong on my shirt (after I get used to a fragrance I tend to overspray it because my nose goes a little numb on that particular scent, until I can't smell it anymore, but with this one wasn't the case). I wore it almost all last winter, but I still wasn't fond of the opening notes (that still smell like gas to me even after half a year), so I was spraying it at least 30 minutes before going somewhere. Also, I usually don't like spicy notes, but in this one I barely detect any of them in the opening (and thankfully I don't smell any pepper in it), then they become mild, and overall add warmth to the perfume. To me, this an elegant fragrance, quite mature, warm, gentle, but bold (this is like spring in a bottle). The projection is moderate, but that bubble is all you need to feel warm and cozy. I think it's best suited for persons over 30 years.
