Red Velvet

Ok, so, got it today. Production date was Nov 23, so going to let it sit after today, just for a bit longer. It is fruity as hell but more like synthetic lollipop strawberry or Strawbs from Haribo. It’s also in the BCR540 family as well, but you gotta get under all that fruit to smell it. It’s probably what gives it the warmth and depth. I don’t smell floral in anyway except maybe a tad of powder. Can’t smell any vanilla. Just fruits and oakmoss. Definitely on the sweeter side for me but not like Lancôme gross sweet. Just sort of sweeties sweet. Going to wear it a bit more once it’s sat and see how I feel about it as I’m a freshy girl, but I don’t mind it at all. It’s very pleasant and I can’t see how anyone would dislike it to be honest. I don’t go nose blind to it either! It does project but not massive. It leaves my skin after three hours (may need macerating).

So currently Lattafa Rave Now is my favourite Middle Eastern fragrance. Red Velvet is similar to Rave now based on the fact that it opens with a similar strawberry note. The middle however transcends to a more powdery floral accord from the violet and Jasmine. ( The violet and Orris root combined makes it smells A LOT like baby powder). Compared to the Lattafa Rave Now, the moss note is also very amped up which makes it a bit aromatic. I still prefer Lattafa Rave Now as it is fruiter, airier, sweeter, projects more and lasts forever, especially on clothes.

I have it for some time now and this one is kind of a beast mode fragrance to me. The orris is pretty strong in here, and it's very fruity. I mostly smell the strawberry, orris and musk for most of the time, and a powdery violet with orange in the dry down. I loved this at first, but I got bored of it after a couple of months. It's a pleasant and long lasting fragrance though, which got me many compliments.
