Les Nuits de Bali

Maison de L'Asie is a new niche perfume house. The founder Elizabeth dedicated the first perfume to her mother (Mother X Love) and felt that Nostalgia and the ode to our innocence and happiness from childhood is something most adults forget and wanted to share that emotion with others. Following that, the entire chapter 01 is about homecoming and memories... And although set In Singapore (Nanyang - an old nostalgic word for Singapore) - it's an emotion she felt others can relate to. Every chapter has a philosophical theme behind it, and she wanted to elevate the interpretation of Asia to the world while gently telling olfactory stories encapsulating the main theme of each chapter. Chapter 02 theme is Rêveries - and on the surface it appears like a simple interpretation of dreams on an island like Bali. In fact, it is about mankind's search for the utopian ideal and how we always go outside looking for it (as inspired by the main theme song Bali Hai in South Pacific where the sailors search for paradise in the south pacific islands) - when in fact utopia is always within if we pause to look inside. This concept of a faraway island is simply an allegory for that utopian ideal. Lets talk about Les Nuits de Bali. Les Nuits de Bali is such a seductive and very addictive perfume. This is a Vanilla bases perfume. In the opening, you get a warm and creamy Vanilla. It is not a Vanilla that is heavy or intoxicating like some Vanilla perfumes have. This one smells very sensual. Next to Vanilla, I can pick up the notes of Patchouli (this one has more of a dark chocolate vibe) and soft and silky amber. So if you are looking for a warm seductive, and addictive perfume. Try this one out. Probably one of my favorite Vanilla perfumes around at this moment.

Les Nuits de Bali is phenomenal, it envelops you, and it brings you on a journey, far from home. It is warm, buttery, and one of the creamiest fragrances I've ever smelled. It opens up with a bit of saffron and a gorgeous veil of vanilla, in which all the different woods shine together. The Oud is barely noticeable, it brings depth to the mix and a sunset/evening vibe. The rose and jasmine are also very shy, leaving place to the vanilla, who's truly the star here. The musk/patchouli drydown brings a tiny earthy touch to the fragrance, that lingers on your skin forever. Ambery, creamy, a bit spicy, almost gourmand-ish. Perfection. 'Bali' is an Extrait de Parfum, super concentrated (37% !!!!). I've worn it all week, and I swear I've never gotten that much compliments for a fragrance in my life 🌺.

I love literally any take on vanilla and this is such a good one. I visited some niche perfumeries in London and the guy there sprayed this on me and I came back the next day to buy it. Definitely feels a bit more mature and I see how people could get grandma vibes, but it just makes me feel respectable. Lasts all day and keeps smelling good.

Well, of course this fragrance getting more love from everyone, and it's understandable, because of its beauty, Exotic vibes floral notes of rose and gourmand vanilla with mysterious woody sandalwood and Patchouli notes Absolutely my favorite! Chapter 2 so good , all 3 perfumes

When I received my subscription vial I was surprised by the strong “bread” note. It was unbalanced and disappointing as I read all these reviews. 2 weeks later on the freezing day I have applied it and find so comforting and balmy and I keep sniffing my wrists.

It's unlike any vanilla, oud, or patchouli fragrance I've ever encountered. Rich, smouldering sweet scent. Sort of like you chucked a couple vanilla beans onto the embers of a dying fire. Or if you burned a vanilla bean pod on one end like an incense stick. Has that simple-yet-elegant style of French perfumery. Does kind of give "rich auntie" though, but I think anyone could wear this. Has pretty good performance on skin. I layer this with Warm Bulb from Clue, they bring out the best in each other.

I'm still very much getting to know this one, as I only recently picked up some samples from the line. Les Nuits de Bali is an intoxicating sweet woody fragrance that dances on the border of gourmand territory. Very addictive that blends a rich chocolatey patchouli with a luxurious soft saffron that isn't at all sharp, or medicinal. The amber base is velvety and not too heavy. Overall, a very enjoyable wear and worth a sniff if you enjoy woody-amber scents.

On my skin, a very green leaning rose with sweetness from lychee, and a woody and slightly vanilla base. Dry down presents patchouli and oud. Great longevity and projection! Longevity 10hrs, Projection 7/10. Overall 7/10

Really enjoy it, similar to Commodity Velvet.

This perfume gives off some old-school vibes. It leans towards the masculine side, kind of like the clean cologne you might remember from your dad or granddad when you were a kid—fresh and masculine at the same time. It's got a classic feel to it. Personally, I don’t think it’s an everyday scent for me. Maybe I'd wear it occasionally when I'm in the mood, but not for big gatherings.

While the top notes are similar to other fragrances from the brand, its dry down is less tropical than the others. It’s like a sandalwood rose to me. It’s not a bad scent, just very heavy. I think you need to have a big energy to pull off this perfume, otherwise it will smell like it’s wearing you. I do not get gourmand from this, though I would call it sweet.

Strong opening oud & sandalwood opening, the the beautiful saffron makes it's appearance - my favorite part! It warms sweetly, like spicy vanilla. Definitely more masculine leaning. Although appreciate the complexity - not my style.

This perfume gives me the BIGGEST HEADACHE 😭😭😭 I wanted to love this perfume so bad... but I cannot stand it. I was expecting something complex and unique from this brand and was heavily disappointed, it feels classic and old lady-ish as other comments mentioned. The vanilla is incredibly overpowering. Then it dries down to a bit more of a sandalwood, with a hint of rose -- but the vanilla is still the main star of this. It is a mature scent and very sweet. I was hoping for it to be woody and earthy from the oud, sandalwood, and patchouli, but I don't really get any remnants of this... it is borderline gourmand to me. As mentioned by rckrieger, to wear this you must have "big energy" or else the scent just wears you. The only person I can see this scent suiting is a rich, powerful older woman, wearing all them fancy brands and gold jewelry. Note: I gave it a dislike rather than a hate, as I can see how vanilla lovers out there would love this scent.

On first spray this reminds me of something my grandmother wore when I was a child. She wore it when she went somewhere nice. After an hour it smelled like a retired couple with money going to a play--my husband said, the inside of Macy's. He's not wrong. On my skin the dry down is vanilla and oud that lasts a long, long time. It is woodsy but under that is a sweetness from the vanilla. I like the dry down far more. The opening has a slight musk somewhere in it that devours the patchouli on my skin. I like it. It's something I will go through slowly, wearing only here and there. I am glad I tried it.

I met this brand at Exsence in Milan 2023. I immediately fallen in love. Nuit de Bali is a journey trough a beatifull place, all the elements are so well combined that your mind (and your nose) can’t stop to think about it all the time. Thanks for this gift ❤️
