Lost Lovers

In the dark of a cold night, the streetlamps dimly light up the lifeless sidewalks. A black figure passes you by and the welcomed scent of her sensual yet bright scent catches your attention. You turn around to look and she does the same, locking eyes, as you both continue walking forward. Her quiet yet piercing demeanour excites you. You begin imagining the life you might have with her, the late night laughters, the painful tears, the anguish, what it might feel like to bask in her warm embrace, laying on her skin as you feel the goosebumps and enjoy her natural skin scent. That life excites you even though you know that fleeting feeling will come to a bitter end... For a name befitting my upended relationship, this perfume isn’t reminiscent of my “Lost Lover”. This is however an interesting scent profile i haven’t quite smell elsewhere, something i feel will be a recurring theme from this fragrance house. On my skin, a slightly sweet orange jam and spices with vanilla smoothness, woody and slightly animalic in the base. In the air it smells fresh but upclose you pickup on the heavier woody scents. This is how i would imagine a darker pumpkin spice latte perfume might smell like. Projection 7/10. Sillage 5/10. Longevity 8hrs. Overall 8.5/10.

If I had to compare it to something, I'd say it's a blend of Bal d'Afrique and Musk Therapy. But as it is such a unique fragrance this comparison doesn't capture it 100%. It's absolutely gorgeous. I smelled it in the store and fell in love with it instantly so I bought it on the spot. The only thing that bothers me a bit is the longevity. But since it's really hot right now here in Europe, I'll give it another try once the weather gets cooler.

I really like this. I have been searching for a fragrance with the perfect combination of floral and woody notes. I don’t see anyone disliking this Extrait de parfum. My only complaint is that the new bottles are opaque and I like to see how much I have in my bottles so I may reorder before they run out. I’ve only had it a couple days but, I think this will be a love soon. Signature scent worthy.

This intimate and sensual fragrance reminds me of a seductive kiss late at night. I feel very special when I'm wearing it. I would say that this blend of fragrances is filled with a magical power of female attractiveness.

My other favourite from Maison de L'Asie. It's really a distinct fragrance that leaves a memorable impression on people. I love wearing this on a hot day too!

Great fragrance for everyday wear. Not too strong or too subtle....just enough to keep you flying like a butterfly through the day <3

Comforting, warm/inviting, and sensual, which helps as the perfume is so aptly named. This perfume stays linear throughout, so whatever you smell on the first spritz, is most likely what you will continue to smell for the next few hours (which is great if you're someone who buys perfumes based on what it first smells like, and not what the dry down is like). This is floral without being too feminine. Not very aromatic or green, I would say. The star of this fragrance would most definitely have to be the rose, jasmine, sandalwood and amber in here (and I am someone that hates rose-centric perfumes). Beautifully blended together, though I do have to say that this is a fragrance that would suit someone above the age of 30 more. Nevertheless, a very sensual fragrance, and perfect for date nights or a romantic evening. Also works great in heat and humidity. Longevity is great too, with about 5-6 hours of wear. Sillage is pretty fantastic too. Not beast mode, but definitely better overall performance than some other niche fragrances that i've tried. Definitely will be getting myself a bigger bottle!

This is a very good scent, and the quality is excellent, just like the other fragrances I’ve tried from this house. I’ve been very impressed with Maison de L’Asie overall. The fragrance opens very floral and stays that way throughout the wear. I don’t get much sandalwood. To my nose, it comes across as clean and slightly soapy, like that fresh-out-of-the-shower feeling. To me, it leans a bit more on the feminine side, so I don't see myself wearing much, but it’s not overly feminine. It’s still wearable for anyone who enjoys clean, floral scents. Performance is excellent. On my skin, it lasts 12+ hours with strong projection. Overall, it’s a great scent. Clean, high quality, and very well made. In my opinion, it fits all seasons.

I really enjoy this fragrance. On my skin it's very sweet, and I mainly detect the sandalwood and rose. (Sandalwood is not listed as a note on this page, but it is on the brand's website.) There is some underlying depth to this fragrance with the vetiver, but it mostly comes across very light and sweet. It's a bit more subtle than I would like in the current cold weather, but I think it will really shine in the spring and summer.

I really enjoy this scent. It is quite different than the scents I would normally wear which are floral and sweet. This is floral in a different way which includes the whole plant or the whole field including the ground and sun. It’s earthy and clean, but with a sweetness that is different and light. to Give it a few minutes after spraying for the true notes to appear. Beautiful. I like the wafts of sandalwood and vetiver.

Fresh, but not purely green. Surprised how many assign this to fall/winter—reads like pure springtime to me. Solely a day scent for me, but I also skew heavily feminine, especially at night. Sadly not the strongest or longest performance on my skin, and I found myself reapplying in the afternoon to enjoy it a bit longer. A possible signature scent contender if it lasts on you.

It's very unique and unusual, but well balanced & beautiful. It's a very nice statement perfume, not too soft or harsh. The white musk and the violet in this context make it not a love for me. But I do like it a lot

I just received Lost Lovers today, and it is 35°C outside, so I definitely think this may need to be revisited in the right weather. On first spray, it opened almost like a gourmand. All I could smell was lemon meringue pie: sweet, creamy, bright, and lemony. As it settled, it became dustier, muskier, and woodier, and I started to feel unsure about it. For a while, it leaned a bit too dry and sawdusty for me. Then it started warming back up again and becoming cozier. I read that a few people recommend wearing this in the fall during the daytime, and the second I heard that, it clicked. I could absolutely see this smelling beautiful on an autumn walk through the woods. Right now, in the beginning of July during a heatwave, it does not feel like a summer daytime or summer nighttime scent to me. But I don’t think that means it is the wrong scent. It may just be the wrong day. On me, it is not my favorite yet. But I do think I would find this very attractive on my husband, and I would love to smell it on him. I’m going to keep it for October and try it again in cooler weather. I’ll update in the fall once I’ve had a chance to wear it in the weather I think it was actually made for.

I unfortunately found this fragrance pretty cloying from the moment I put it on up until I washed it off. I gave it several hours to dry down to see if it would change on me, but it just smelled sort of artificial, like astringent. I wouldn't recommend this especially for those who get migraines or smell-induced headaches.

I now have two fragrances from Maison de L' Asie and I like them both very much. I have Terre D'Inde and this one. At the top it's citrus bright and refreshing. For me the myrtle appears after a few minutes. It gives a bitter edge which is really unusual. It smells 'green' but with a spicy, musky, warmth humming in the background. It's very sophisticated to my nose. Very different, you are NOT going to smell like anyone else, that's for sure and therefore definitely not blind buy safe. I really like it. I respectfully disagree with the person that said it's more suitable for colder weather. I could wear this all year round. I would pair it with a casual outfit for a nice lunch. Its giving slight emotional distance though. Refined and aloof. Lunch with the tennis club committee when you get asked what you're wearing by the snooty chairwoman and you feel nonchalant that she won't have ever heard of it.

To me this is mostly a slightly sweet woody scent with a milky, almost lactonic facet to it. As a lover of white florals, those notes are barely detectable to me. I think the florals in this just brings a soft warmth to it and maybe a little bit a sweetness. Upon first spray, the sandalwood and cedar stand out to me. I also get the dry, earthy, smoky vetiver but represented in a soft manner. It's one of the first scents that contain rose where the rose really plays an underlying, secondary part. On dry down you really get this beautiful, soft, milky woody scent. It's earthy, warm, and makes me think of paper and books. A beautiful scent for a bookish person.

After trying my sample can say that It’s a really nice fragrance, very unisex, feels like almost clean white scent. It’s beautiful and seems to wrap around like a mist of the forest. On my skin I can really smell the freshness of bergamot in the opening and then woody because of cedar dry down more spicy ambery and musky but it’s a soft sillage.. on clothes the musk is stronger but still beautiful and fresh. I love it!

very original opening! Starting with bergamot, each note joins in separately, and you can feel it so clearly and "detached" from the rest as it enters the composition. Very interesting, I’ve never experienced this in a perfume... i wonder how they made it possible unfortunately, after ~15mins all you’re left with is a musky, clean, soapy kind of skin scent. simply too boring for the price asked.
