Rivière Siam

This is a creamy, soft, rounded floral-woody scent. The textural experience might remind of suede leather (the plush softness), but I don’t smell much of the actual leather and that’s a plus in my book. Osmanthus and orange blossom joined by a touch of citrus and orris. Osmanthus gives that slight stone fruit vibe, but not overtly fruity. Orris and orange blossom give it a creamy cleanliness edge. There are a lot of woody notes in the backbone of this fragrance, but all smoothed out, nothing harsh or too dominant. Unisex leaning feminine. Sillage and longevity strongly abobę average. A gorgeous scent for many occasions where you want something easy to wear yet substantial enough to be noticed.

In the beginning you are laying in a tub of masala chai, relaxed and energised. You are then forcefully taken out of the peaceful relaxation and instead submerged into a drum of sticky sandalwood and oud extract, where you turn to a viscous creature after being rudely awakened from your deep slumber, followed by being stuffed into a plastic vacuum bag... On my skin, a beautiful soothing spiced aroma. Spices at the top, creamy orris at the heart, woodiness in the base. Despite having spices at the top, it isn’t overpowering or astringent. Upon dry down, it transforms into a sweet sandalwood and balsamic, animalic oud. On the total dry down, all that is left is the constant aroma of oud that sometimes comes off screechy. Longevity 8hrs. Projection 7/10. Overall 6/10

I don't get any of the listed notes at all! I get a strong oud and wood, both of which are among my least favorite fragrance notes. I also think this is very masculine. Osmanthus and orange blossom are among my favorite notes but I don't get either of those at all. This is exactly why I always get decants before committing to a FB!

The opening is great and promising - light creamery floral scent with some expensive soap notes. Kinda old-money chic. But then it is just a sandalwood, very loud, nothing else. After two hours it is almost gone.

I can’t believe that the notes here don’t show sandalwood. It’s so obviously a sandalwood dominant scent. I went to check on their own website and of course there it is in the heart notes: Top: Orange Blossom, Bergamot, Lavender Heart: Suede, Osmanthus, Sandalwood Base: Musk, Amberwood, Vanilla I am only trying a tiny amount from a dapper sample bottle but the scent is beautifully wafting around me. It certainly has power! From the minute I put it on I felt, wait I know this. What is this? It’s sandalwood, it’s slightly vintage smelling, it’s old money, what does this remind me of? Within minutes I landed on Samsara by Guerlain. It’s not a dupe of course but it’s very reminiscent of that scent. I love samsara so obviously I love this one.

I wouldn’t call this a leather fragrance as stated; it’s more of a floral, creamy, makeup-aura kind of scent. feels buttery smooth &sits close to skin. hard to pick up a separate note, I smell orris and osmanthus the most
