Oud Opulence

This is Lattafa's Oud for Glory with more character...for those looking to avoid redundancy. Just recently got this so still testing this out, where I can because it's in the middle of summer in TX. Right now, I can say this fragrance has much better oils than Oud for Glory, as that one is more alcohol-ly on the opening. I can't quite get a gauge on it's strength though and I believe the shitty sprayer has something to do with that. I need to spray 2 to 3 times as much just to get a decent distribution. The presentation is nice, but that's the last thing that impresses me about a fragrance...only what's inside the bottle and quality of the atomizer...bottle is nice, atomizer is terrible. This fragrance feels a bit brighter in the top and a lot more detailed than OFG. I can pick out that nutmeg, saffron, and a bit of rose. It does feel leathery as the mid enters and I forgot there was a leather in the mid, so makes more sense. It also feels a bit smoky in the mid as well. In the base, that musk and sandalwood are very noticeable, but airy as this does pull back to the skin after about 2 hours. Like all fragrances, I like to spray them and wear them out of the box, then sit them in the dark for about 2 to 4 weeks to see if there's been any changes. I'd love for this one to get stronger. I'm definitely planning on putting this in a decant to see if that makes a difference with it's longevity and projection. It's a very good scent! BUT, no need in getting this if you have Oud for Greatness or any of it's other clones. Unless this scent DNA is a love, akin to Aventus and most of the male population, you can skip this one. The price of this one is actually pretty good, all things considered...sub $35. I've never smelt Oud for Greatness, so can't comment on how it compares to that one. Will report back in about a month to update.

I got a free sample from Fragrancenet, which I'll review. There is a lot going on here. There is oud. There is a gourmand aspect with the caramel and vanilla. With the cinnamon and woody vibe, it almost gives an Original Santal vibe in the opening. It's a bit incensy. There is a little bit of an earthy dirty vibe between the leather, woods and aromatic notes. And that's not for me. This dates this fragrance a bit. This fragrance does give sort of a 70's/80's vibe, and may suit an older person. This has good qualities, and the price is reasonable. But I don't see myself returning to this.
