Amora

Amora is “a perfumer’s perfume” — something complex and sophisticated and unique and artistic. Absolutely no offense at all to the same gourmand profiles we all tend to fill our shelves with — they’re classics for a reason — but mama needs a little more to her sugar. Amora opens with a jarring burst of neroli that seems to be grabbing your chin and saying “See?! I’m nothing like my sister, orange blossom! NOTHING!” But then its voice fades into the ether as it spirals down to, well, ORANGE BLOSSOM... helped along by the cotton candy note. Five or six oxygenating breaths in and I’m smelling... LDBS, except it’s Love after she’s been anything but shy and now she’s been around the block and come out a bit jaded. It’s LDBS on horseback; she’s a Cigarette Mom but her beauty pageant days are still as obvious as the fine lines where she smiles. She goes to the carnival in her little rural town, grabs cotton candy on a stick, and eats it slowly in front of the rodeo boys. I love her. Verdict: It’s LDBS with a jammy rose twist and a barely discernible but pretty hint of caramel leather that smells zero like a “leather note.” The price makes it a total winner if you love LDBS, or if you want LDBS to smell a little more grown up and a little less like every other girl on the Ferris wheel.

Amora is a fragrance that feels like a breathwork ceremony—inhale, exhale, pause, I love you. It’s soft, serene, and emotionally transportive, moving with the rhythm of your breath. The top notes bloom like a whisper: ethereal cotton candy, radiant neroli, and jammy roses slow-dancing with grace. There’s something hypnotic about how they move—gentle but deep, sweet but never cloying. What makes Amora so compelling is how the scent shifts and flows. On the inhale, I get the airy florals and sweet notes; on the exhale, a grounding warmth of caramel leather and creamy sandalwood comes through like a secret. And as the fragrance unfolds, the inhale catches more of the leather and woods too—rich, smooth, and deeply comforting. The entire experience is beautifully meditative, sensual, and unique. The notes don’t just blend—they breathe together. I’ve seen this compared to LDBS, and this is LDBS cooler sister.. who is wearing a leather jacket and a hand dyed lace slip underneath.

I didn't expect to love this. To me, it's a grown-up bubblegum scent. Starts with a bright neroli that chills out quickly to being a floral backbone to a sweet bubblegum scent with a whisper of soft leather. I don't really get much caramel to this, and the leather isn't that present. It's powdery and pleasant and unlike anything in my collection. I didn't love LDBS but this I can rock with. It's a little more cool-girl and somewhat edgier than the gourmandies I typically go for. I think this will be my house winner and I'm keeping my eye out for a FS.

Sweet cotton candy and neroli, it feels like the county fair in the summer. On skin, I get a smidge of the leather to cut through how sweet the cotton candy is and tame it a little. I think this would be a good introduction scent if you want to get into leather scents but still enjoy sweet scents.

This one is good! BUUUUT! If you have Sintra ( or even LDBS), this is redundant. I almost can’t tell this apart from Sintra; however, Amora does have more sweetness in the opening, so that’s the teeny distinction between the two.
