Amyris Femme

Like Kterhark, I feel it is easiest to describe Amyris by recounting the situation in which I tested it. I was in a store waiting for my friend to arrive, and decided to try it on a test strip. After reading Jtd's review about how Amyris has so much integrity, with Kurkdjian intentionally striking those balances and whatnot, I decided I could TRUST Amyris, and gave two sprays to the bosom, and one on each wrist; sort of a big risk considering I was headed directly to a new years party. I then proceeded to wait for my friend in the chain pharmacy next door. While gazing over the toothbrushes and discounted Christmas stuff, I felt as though Amyris had created a tiny portal into another place and season. With laser precision, Amyris was clearing away all of the richness and stuffiness of the holidays, and showing me a fresh and sparkling world of delicate almost tart flowers trembling under the cool shade. Suddenly, I was content to stand in Duane Reade forever, staring at toothbrushes. Were the flowers going to become TOO tart? Was Amyris going to grow and grow and become too cloying? I closed my eyes and remembered about striking the balances. I waited and waited, breathing carefully... and discovered that once again, jtd had spoken the truth. Amyris never over stepped its bounds and remained a true beauty down to the last trace, several hours later at my crowded New Years party. What a lovely and unexpected way to ring in the new year. I agree with other reviewers that Amyris has an almost virginal feeling and that it is very pretty pretty, but it also has a poetic, almost solemn quality that lets you completely escape into it, like nature itself. I love it.

Amyris Femme begins like a quiet confession. It is powdery, it is tart, and it whispers of something feminine, delicate yet unresolved. Sparkling citrus flickers through like laughter caught in the wind, while vetiver hums beneath it all—earthy, steady, and a presence you didn’t realize you so vastly needed. Even with time's wear, its coos of cradling, invisible words don't dull, wrapping ever so warmly around you like the golden hour before twilight; golden hour, not just speckled on your skin but moving, breathing. Familiar, yet never ordinary. Stunning, yet never in grand gestures, but in the way it simply stays. This fragrance evokes most warmly and vividly a love story without words—love in it's purest form—simply the quiet certainty of knowing it’s there.

I love it. The good: It’s a bright citrus that actually lasts. You know those delightful top notes on frags that fade all too quickly? Or freshies that last 30 mins? Amyris Femme keeps the fresh, citrus energy throughout. That’s rare, and I appreciate it! I have never smelled ‘real’ amyris, but if it’s a ‘citrusy/piney wood’ as Fragrantica states, then this is it. I think the use of Amyris is how the frag retains the citrus nature throughout. I see the Lysol comments, and I guess I can see how it could give someone that thought. I don’t feel that, personally, but I can see it. I get elegant, anchored citrus. But- try before you buy, if you’re unsure about that. I experience a light-hearted (not to be mistaken for light or weak), fun, happy perfume that performs way better than Gentle Fluidity and doesn’t do any disappearing acts like BR. It’s well-crafted, and I feel fresh and summery during the wear, but definitely perfumed. It’s no wallflower freshie. It projects for several hours and lasts all day. Happy camper here! Not a safe blind buy, but I will say that what I got on paper is what I get on skin. ———- Update::: It’s still a BIG LOVE. I love it for summer, but today, 12/26/22 after wearing an oriental vanilla (Alien Essence Absolue) yesterday , this really is a refreshing palate cleanse.

OH.MY.GOD! I have no words good enough to explain my experience with this magical stuff. Pure luxury, pure heaven! I bought this jewel in London and ever since I feel like a soft smelling angel when wearing it. The way it smells is so hard to describe, without it seeming like a plain, fresh out-of-the-shower kind of scent, but let me tell you - Amyris is so much more than that. More complex, yet easy to wear. It is SO SOFT, feminine, lush and delicate. The opening is citrusy, and during dry down I'm smelling a soft rose-like scent (guess the Amyris reminds me of a soft, dewy, rose), and after many hours the oud is coming out deliciously. It's not an obvious oud, it's more of a white, natural oud (if that makes sense) and maybe that's why some of the reviews say that the oud is non-exsistent, but I can tell it's in there giving the scent its roundness and some depth. Amyris remains soft (but still good sillage!) throughout, but the dry down is so awesome because you can follow the different steps hour by hour. It was all these different fases of the dry down that eventually made me buy it. Also, you can't beat the longevity. It stays all day - even the next morning. Perfection!

I was not expecting to love this as much as I did! It’s a very pretty scent. It reads as a well-blended white floral with a good balance of sweetness and woodiness upon first spray. After 30 mins to 1 hour, the wood and musk come through more strongly, and I smell like my skin is just naturally sweet. It’s still detectable within arm’s length after 4-5 hours for me - by then, it smells very much like the subtle scent of flowers that have been in a room for a while. I’ve worn this to the office during the day and to formal evening do’s. This is a plus for me - I’m not in the habit of reserving certain perfumes for special occasions; I like versatile workhorses. I find it interesting because the way I feel about it changes as I use it. There are even some days I find it rather nauseating, and some days where I can’t help but go back for another sniff. I rotate this with Dior’s J’adore, Penhaligon’s The Favourite, Lush’s Dirty and Marc Jacobs’ Daisy. I have been using a sample of the Extrait, which I am thinking of adding to my collection too.

This is definitely a scent that deserves the hype it gets. It's an incredible blend of woodiness and florals with a bit of citrus to it that makes the final fragrance lean more toward the feminine side. This scent is what I imagine when I think of Juliet as she sat at her window in that balmy midsummer, wondering about Romeo who was just below, longing for her as much as she was for him. This is fresh sugared citrus yet at the same time it's a warm cup of spiced and honeyed tea during a late night. This is a fairie or a fae, it's unpredictable yet that unpredictability is what gives it charm. It's all encompassing and fresh in a way that reminds you of a new Spring. It's a new lover, an old friend, and a beginning in the middle of a story. I would say this is a scent for every woman, because no matter what notes come through the most, it still manages to work with you rather than for you. It's young, yet mature, and it's bold but also somehow shy. It's something different, and that's what makes it nearly perfect.

This is a fragrance that SCREAMS luxury. On the initial spray, it opens with an airy, sparkling lemon blossom note, perfectly balanced by a lush, juicy orange. It’s incredibly invigorating and sophisticated; what is strange is that it doesn’t scream 'citrus', it feels more like a fresh, lush floral. As the fragrance begins to settle, it becomes this stunning, warm and solar scent. The heart reveals a slightly piney, resinous quality, softened by a delicate, powdery iris. The star of the show, the amyris, brings a luxurious, milky woodiness with a subtle balsamic and almost smoky edge. The full dry down is amazing. It's a sweet, musky skin scent framed by a deep, gorgeous amber. It has a radiant, solar quality (like the sensation of golden sunlight warming your skin) that makes it completely intoxicating to me. What’s most impressive is the brightness; even hours into the wear, those fresh top notes continue to dance over the warm, sunkissed base. OML, I’m in love!

I adore this perfume, but I think it's a perfume that is highly dependent on personal skin chemistry. I know that it trends sharp and citrusy, almost like Lysol, on some people, but on me it comes across as mature, woody, and feminine. On my skin, it conjures the feeling of walking through the woods on a warm and balmy summer night. I recommend getting a sample and trying it out to see how it interacts with your skin before going in on a full size bottle! If it works for you, it's subtly seductive, woody, and gorgeous, but if it doesn't work for you, you'll end up with that cleaning product smell a couple people have mentioned in reviews. It lasts a long time without being overpowering and spreads through a space without overwhelming. An absolute win in my book!

This scent of definitely for citrus lovers. At first spritz, citrus is overpowering. Almost all I feel is orange and lemon. But as several minutes pass by, sharp citrus notes softens up and scent is smoothed with iris and pear note. This scent overall is very luminous, bright and has sparkling champagne feeling to it. And I appreciate this as one who lives in desert climate. This perfumes performs excellent in extreme heat. It lasts over 8 hours on me. Projects within arm length. As it dries down we arrive closer to musky/amyris base. I find musk to be most prominent and that’s what makes this scent a “clean smelling”. This is very elegant well blended option for a day time scent, signature scent or office wear. It is very likable and not over complicated.

when i was 17 years old i was in this semi abusive relationship with this rich 24 year old girl who worked at the restaurant i worked at and we would sit outside after work just talking and listening to music and smoking cigs for hours and she would put em out on me anyway one time she took me to nyc for a weekend cause she had went to columbia and had a lot of friends there and we went to this party with a bunch of ritzy people like not like gossip girl blair waldorf rich but like gossip girl dan humprey rich like real debutant type shit and her and her friends blew threw an eightball like it was breathing and she spent the whole night coked up talking to me about horse girl shit anyway this perfume smells like that but like in a good way

Incredibly luminous, woody, citric, and sparkling ✨ Opens like a true blooming cabbage rose after a heavy rainfall then turns into this powdery sweet pea/iris/amyris - is so mouth watering in combination with the lemon blossom and pear, perfect for spring and humid summers as the white musk brings everything together. It is simply beautiful, emphasise on simply. Amyris femme is undoubtedly refined and elegant, lasting power is immense for a spring time fragrance and the same with its projection. On my skin it comes across as complex but not complicated, simple but not generic, youthful but not juvenile...I would consider this very unisex. I also sampled 724, and it falls short of everything when compared to this!

This has an effervescent fruit opening that I truly love. Then, oddly, to my (amateur) nose, I get wafts of fresh madeleines, that dissipate before I get that pretty lipstick vibe. You know what this is perfect for right? Brunch, picnics, cute floral dresses, pretty purses and shoes (or sneakers), riding your bike with fresh flowers in a basket at its handle bars. Day dates and hanging out with your girls! Paris! Sunshine! The only con: the scent bubble can be intimate unless you spray a good amount. I want to note that I see a lot of comparison to Coco MM. while I can understand why they’d be compared, I don’t think they’re dupes at all. This is blended to perfection as are the rest of the frags from this line.

This is perfection for me. I had a sample of the extrait version, I liked it, and people around me loved it on me...but I personally found it abit too sweet and cloying for everyday wear (I live in a hot and humid desert climate). This one suits me better. It’s sophisticated, feminine, versatile, and the amyris note gives this clean floral a distinctive touch. Noticeable sillage without filling a room...you get great longevity if you spray it on your clothes but on skin it fades away in 5-6 hours (not a bad thing if you want to wear a different scent later in the day). Great as a daytime signature scent. I’m also a fan of Feminin Pluriel, it is longer lasting than Amyris, but Amyris is more unique.

i actually wouldn't consider myself a citrus person, or even a florals person (except iris). but i love this! the citruses are less 'lifelike' and more herbal, which combined with the amyris, gives the impression of a honey lemon eucalyptus drop (in like the best way possible). the iris is powdery and lovely and the amber adds warmth. this has to be one of my most feminine perfumes, and it's strong and long lasting! it's very 'pretty' smelling. a pretty, airy, iris and honey lemon eucy drop. i've layered this with Demeter Amber to bring out some more warmth, but it's not necessary. i have a feeling this perfume actually doesn't suit me, but i choose to be in denial because it's so beautiful.

Amyris Femme is such a tender girl, so human. Don't try to confront her, because she will only know what to give you good energy. What a good feeling of the lemon flower with the iris and the amyris resin, what a well balanced and combined set, hey, how good it smells! If you are looking for a woody floral that is not too boring floral or that is not too dense a resinous woody: here you have this fragrance that, more than a decade after its release on the market, remains absolutely pristine and modern. Remember, Amyris is all kindness and love, do not try to get angry with her or stifle her existence, she only knows how to welcome you with open arms. Divine-feminine for any time of the year

Absolutely gorgeous. Lately, I tend to enjoy more unisex fragrances, but Amyris Femme is one exception. The combination of florals and citrus is unlike any other perfume I’ve ever smelled. It may seem simple to some, but on my skin, it’s a highly unique, fresh scent. I only have a sample right now, but it’s one of my top MFK purchase priorities. If you’re looking for a signature scent and really want to commit, they offer many other Amyris Femme products so you can continue to smell like it no matter how much you spray on. With a scent as pleasing as this one, it’s no wonder why they’ve created these other forms to consume it in. Francis Kurkdjian has outdone himself once again.

Totally agree with the comments saying this would make a perfect wedding day scent. I think it would suit any occasion where a touch of elegance and class is called for. It's effortlessly luxurious - like someone who doesn't try too hard but always looks perfect, and you just know from looking at them that they come from old money. It's subtly expensive - it whispers wealth rather than shouts it from the rooftops. Think vintage Hermès or Delvaux bags that have been passed down through generations, or fine fabrics instead of flashy jewellery. It's luxury in its purest form, and, for some baffling reason, criminally underrated. This perfume will be a lifer for me. I love it.

The top 5 of the whole MFK range, next to their signature perfumes. Amyris Femme is really underrated. Slightly bitter resin and lemon with an unexpected strong green tea note just suddenly dive into super feminine strawberry, powdery, floral sweetness. (Really reminded me of Miss Dior Cherie with same bitter start of resin and a borderline gourmand sweet finish of strawberry.) I think there are many notes not listed above, that are present in this. Berry-sweet, floral, powdery, feminine but with the ever present green tea/lemon leaf cold note on the background. Overall- absolutely stunning.

This is really lovely but much more "mature" than I was expecting. Gives off sophisticated, feminine vibes. It's more woody/aromatic to me than floral or citrusy. It's in the same realm as Coco Mademoiselle but they aren't the same by any means! I had pretty high expectations based on the viral tweet and TikTok reviews about this scent but it's just okay for me. This would work well in the spring/fall and makes a nice, modern alternative to a Chanel fragrance! EDIT: The more I wear this, the more I love it! Might need the 35mL size now. 8/10

I always end up more interested in the tiny gift samples i get when i buy a perfume from someone. This being one of them. Such a mature and refined yet still feminine scent. Smells woodsy and balsamic resiny but also flowery and lemony. It's not beast mode but for almost 300$ i wish it was so i would not have to reapply and use up my tiny dabber sample lol ETA i eventually got the same burnt medicinal scent that i get from BR540 and all the dupes. So sad that it turns that way on my skin bc i want the candy smell that everyone else gets
