Lumière Noire Pour Homme

I am reveling in pleasure this morning, just chilling at home, wearing Lumiere Noire PH. My #1 fragrance by quite a margin ! My whole review just got erased, oh well... I was wearing it today for a special occasion. I realized it has a fresh, soapy quality. Maybe the rose or cinommon have a fruity tone. It gives that clean out of the shower smell, but still stays very refined and classy. A beautiful, exquisite, refined fragrance of contrasts. A soft spicy, very fresh, allmost fruity rose, with perfectly blended patchouli and cinnamon, smooth, slightly sweet and soapy, but nothing jumps out, very well blended, potent quality essences used I'm sure. Then you do get a lovely touch, of a slightly bitter green artemesia. I don't get much patchouli actually, after the rose, the artemesia and cumin are strongest. The Patchouli vaguely blends in with the darker notes, to give a slightly woody and masculine base. The fragrance wears very clean and sheer, yet the projection and longevity are solid. PS, I'm trying to discover LN today, thinking on the meaning of a fragrance accord. I over sprayed today, and it wasn't bad, but it took 20 minutes to come into the harmony that is awe inspiring. The masterfull perfumer has come up with a masterpiece here, and the key is in the blending of 5 great notes, a harmonious accord is struck, thinking of music. As those 5 notes of light and dark are struck, with not one note standing out alone, but a creation of several unique fragrance accord. I havnt discovered it fully, but I'm learning , and that's the fun of it... Ah, it is a rose fragrance at the heart, but an embelished rose. I love it when a fragrance has strong floral notes, but is still masculine, it's not easy, and this one does it. Like Givenchy Insense, another example of a masterpiece in the category of men's floral fragrances. Also Creed Royal Mayfair is a great masculine rose frag. I have written 200 reviews and have a complete collection of my 50 or so top fragrances. Lumiere Noire Pour Homme is the crown jewel of my collection, awesome. Thank you Francis Kurkdjian. A note to Francis Kurkdjian: I heard he dosn't think of himself as an artist, or perfumery as art. I think for me this fragrance and Narciso Rodriguez for him, are great works of art. Two minimalist fragrances 5 notes and 4 respectively, The accords are so beautifully creative that I'm inspired and touched emotionally by these two compositions of his. Lumiere Noire Pour Homme demonstrates the genius of Francis Kurkdjian. After smelling the cheap abomination that is Le Male, I prematurely placed blame on the nose (Kurkdjian) rather than the house (Gaultier). How wrong I was. Gentlemen, do you like roses? Not garden roses, pink roses, or the roses that you would buy in the flower shop, but the idea of roses? In Western culture, rose is a representation of love and attraction. Not sex, not immediate seduction, but love in all its tenderness and doe-eyed elegance. This feeling is precisely what Francis Kurkdjian has managed to capture with his masculine rose, and it is indeed glorious. Lumiere Noire opens with an invitation, aromatic, fresh, and clean - rose underpinned by the green herbaceous quality of artemisia and light patchouli. As it dries down, the rose and herbs soften, falling into the background, as a background of spice (cinnamon, caraway, and a hint of clean cumin seed) rises to the surface. This is a representation of the process of love - the invitation (the offering of a token of love, the rose), followed by acceptance (the scent of warm spice on the skin). One of my favorite YouTube and Fragrantica reviewers, mrzayas81/Estebanz, likes to describe romantic fragrances as follows: "Like falling in love for the very first time". Nothing describes Lumiere Noire better. This is a fragrance that will inspire poets. In terms of performance, Lumiere Noire provides a subtle yet noticeable aura. Projection is moderate for the first couple of hours, with moderate to low sillage (depending on one's skin). All of this seems to be by design. For romantic settings, such intimate performance is perfect. Wear Lumiere Noire around someone for whom you care deeply. Pair with a polished look, lively conversation, and your most tender embrace. Smell: 10/10 Longevity: 6-8 hours Projection: 1-2 hours Sillage: Low to moderate Compliment Factor: High If Lumiere Noire were a song, it would be "Il Libro Dell 'Amore" by 2Cellos (feat. Zucchero).

What an incredibile scent... The first time I sprayed this on it almsot brought tears to my eyes. I was hooked right off the bat, but as experience taught me, its always best to live with a fragrance for some time before commiting to a full bottle, especially with these kind of prices. I went trough 2x2ml samples and I finally decided that this marvel will soon be added to my collection! I love what Francis K. brings to the table, a luminescent and unique take on the rose-patchouli combo. This smells like nothing else in this world. A few weeks ago I hugged my girlfriend after spraying myself with it and she went to the grocery store. Upon her return she told me she got compliments from some guy who seemed shocked by how good she smelled. Its an eau de toilette that acts like an eau de parfum! The artemisia plays an important role in this creation, its the link between the brightness of the rose and the darkness of the patchouli. Adding the necessary green note that balances out the perfume and creates a light and airy yet present effect. This is easily the best perfume in the MFK line, along with the unknown Ciel de Gum, quite a task considering the competition. Ladies and gentlemen (yes this perfume also works on women) if you wish to leave a mark and impress your friends and acquaintances, look no further. Lumière Noire is the type of perfume that is almost too beautiful to be worn, like an Ermenegildo Zegna suit or that Chanel dress that you only use for special occations. Amazing.

Artemisia is the strongest note for me, and I love the earthy, herbal, bitter green smell of it. It is balanced, the (light), with the rose and aldehydes, that give it a clean, airy, and soapy vib. This has all ways been in my top 3 frags, of 400 that I reviewed. It's very intriguing, as there is no single note, that is easily picked out. They are all amazing fragrance accords. When I first discovered this a few years ago; I was still new to niche fragrances. I didn't pick out aroma chemicals and aldehydes as much as I pick them out now. This uses aroma chemicals quite a bit, but overall it comes off quite natural. It's like Le Labo Santal 33 in that way. These two frags use aroma chemicals in the best way. Both are in my top 5. I am someone who likes mostly all natural realistic notes in perfumery, as Diptyque uses in most of their frags. The rose is not feminine here, because you have the cumin and patch. Artemisia (worm wood) plays an important role, as a sharp slightly bitter green note, offsetting the dainty Rose note. I think there is a sneaky anamalic accord in here. It makes it alluring; like a castoreum, cinnamon, rose accord. There is no heavy anamalic skankiness, stays very airy throughout. PS: Just got a good deal on a backup bottle. It smells great and fresher than my bottle from 2016. There have been rumors on YouTube saying this has been reformulated, and is unrecognizable. So I asked for some samples of any of the MFK fragrances today and I received this as one of them...I was quite happy as I've reserved my judgement on many of them as I need to sample properly on my skin. When I read the accompanying card had you been there you'd have seen my slightly pained expression and my disappointment would've been palpable. Rose & patchouli? Really? Not that I dislike either note but having no prior knowledge I'd kinda hoped for something different. Well...to my dismay I absolutely love lumiere noire!!! At last a male rose scent that is better than Cartier or serge Lutens to give two examples and you know why? Because this isn't all that rosy!!! A very gentle composition that has a magnificent opening for me, the rose is used perfectly the patchouli is minimal but evident straight away and gives an almost chocolate quality which works so well with the rose. I genuinely don't like Rose based fragrances (unless very very dark) for men as a rule but the rose in this is so subtle and refined it's totally acceptable to my nose. Lightly spiced, and with a very vague almost bitter, animal quality to it...everything about this says quality, balance and harmony this is not just another bad rose scent for men this one is very very good and I would probably wear it as could most women. The problem here is the price...unless I was crying out for a very lightweight rose scent in my collection(which I'm not) I just wouldn't bother.

Was able to get a partial of this from a reliable source. Here’s my quick 2 cents on my first wear: Remarkably classy to the nose, a really distinctly rose-chouli scent. Perfectly unisex with a slight Fougere character. Idk why, there’s shades of a barbershop fragrance in this that I enjoy. In terms of performance, it doesn’t scream too much but I can totally still smell it after the day is done, but I’m finding out that decent performance was definitely the norm for most perfumes before fragrances exploded in popularity post pandemic. It smells remarkably similar to Rosae Mundi but this leans more herbal to my nose. Not as woody or sweet since the latter kind of dries down with a vague chocolatey character while Lumiere Noire retains a more mossy patchouli accent. It’s that small difference that gives Lumiere Noire an edge over Rosae Mundi if you ask me. White florals also play too much on Rosae Mundi to my nose which distracts from the rose that is more centered here. If I ever get my hands on another bottle for a good price, I wouldn’t think twice of getting one more BUT I also won’t miss it too much if I don’t and have to resort to using Rosae Mundi. It’s beyond me why MFK ever decided to pull this out of the shelves. Between this and L’homme À la Rose, Lumiere Noire is the clear winner of the masc rose formula.

The men's MFK line has recently caught my attention. Lumiere Noir is not one I would normally tend to even try, but right now I am very glad that I did. Lumiere Noir has become my most worn cold weather scent so far this season. This herbal-chypre EdT is strong yet not overpowering and the notes of artemisia (mugwort), cumin/spices, rose and patchouli blend well together to give a calming and relaxing scent that is very long lasting. Artemisia comes off as most prominent but once the scent settles down, the rose and patchouli come through every now and again, accented by the cumin. The rose is definitely definitely not floral, but more like the rose you'd expect to find in Le Labo's Rose 31 or Penhaligon's The Duke. Overall the scent is unlike other artemisia-rich scents such as Puig's legendary Quorum and Caron's Yatagan (my least favourite). As far as sizes go, the 70ml bottle may seem small, but only a litle is required for each application which goes a long way. 2-4 sprays in the morning last well into the evening, making this a 'dumb-reach' for me. Top marks, MFK - well done!

This is the most romantic scent I have ever encountered. It’s not an alpha male sent but an extreme romantic and gentle male scent. At first spray very bright and airy Rose welcomes you. In this stage it is very little feminine leaning but in couple of minutes the patchouly cumin and artemisia combo gives masculine edge. In the stage there is very little animalic phase which can arise from cumin I think. In very last phase off this fragrance and very little sweetness I guess from cinnamon and a rose on the layer of musky patchouli remains on your skin. For me and the performance was very nice longevity 10 to 12 hours and Silage wasn’t that room filling but easily recognizable by half a meter nearby you. This is very elegant and the chic scent. I cannot say that I love most of the offerings from this house to speak frankly very few I like but this one Lumiere Noire is 10 out of 10 fragrance even i dare to say 11 out of 10. Very very powerful candidate for my signature scent.

definitely one of my favorite of this line.wonderful fragrance and it reminds me of caron's the third man but taken to the next level.. with a white shirt and tie. very elegant ,a polished gent or a young professional type would wear this young as well as older sexy man fragrance maybe... smart and sophisticated, very savy and a touch of portrayal of a successful man who knows he is just that.. very well done !! right up with apom on my appreciation of this perfumer.. ..will make you sit up and take notice, maybe not everyone's cup of tea but no one could question the quality of this line.. it is very impressive... just a great fragrance , I wish it was not so expensive as I would want to wear it more often.. but all this to me is a very wonderful smell.. a smile from me on this.. I have read a mention of reformulation?.. at these type of prices that would be a shame and surprising that they would do that and ruin a classy reputation of one of this fragrance.

It took me awhile to find a masculine rose that I really enjoy, but here it is: Lumiere Noire Pour Homme. Most rose fragrances wear too powdery and feminine for my taste (Lyric Man, Baie Rose 26). The ones that are masculine enough (Rose 31) are simply boring and lacking in the Rose intensity; not the mention the hoard of Rose-Aoud combos which are tiresome. Lumiere Noire manages to have a prominent Rose note, but together with the Patchouli and cinnamin, comes across as completely unisex if not leaning masculine. The spiciness in this one is significantly more biting and entertaining than that in Rose 31. The "biting" top does calm down after awhile and the fragrance continues to improve throughout its scentlife. Performance is off the charts, both with projection and longevity. The floral genre will never be my favorite but this one stands out as an exception. 9/10

This was my favorite fragrance when I discovered it about 7 years ago. I am just starting on my second bottle that I purchased just before it was discontinued. I couldn't smell it for almost 2 years after I got covid and lost most of my smell. So I'm wearing it now with my sense of smell 80% back. Rediscovering it... Here's the light and dark of it, "Lumier Noire". The light comes from a soapy rose with some aldehydes that give it some fizz. The dark comes from the cummin spice that's a bit like sour B.O. smell with the bitter green wormwood (Artemisia). Maybe some unlisted civet giving some animalic funk. It was reminding me of vintage Kouros. As brokesta911 review below, nailed it. Kouros was the fragrance that drew me to fragrance. But I don't care for the sensuality of it any more. I like cleaner more natural smelling frags now.

Another first-class fragrance from MFK. I don’t think it is an attempt to be the stunning beast of 540 extrait, but that one is among the best scents I have ever owned. The more important question is how Lumiere Noire rise far above the seemingly infinite number of rose scents from big houses and niche houses too. To me the answer is simple. The quality of the ingredients and the way MFK mixes them so that the fragrances unfolds over a long period of time. This isn't a fragrance that piles up a huge number of notes. It takes a small number, blends them beautifully. I see this one as day or night especially comparison to Absolute Pour le Soir. Its’s a grown-up’s fragrance-subtle in its seduction, slow to unfold, and beautiful in all its incarnations, or maybe it’s more accurate to say in all its roses.

Best rose note perfume for men but not for daily use. Fortunately I just bought the last two bottles from one niche perfume store after some weeks' search. The owner told me that the perfume was discounted due to some EU regulations ( IFRA standards for the natural extract) and it will disappear from all the stores in world soon :( The same reason may also apply for some other niche perfume with natural extract. I felt in love with the perfume when it was produced, but did not have the budget to buy a full bottle at that time (and later not into perfumes due to my partner dislike perfumes.). Last month I knew the perfume was discontinued and then desperately seeking it.... So if you really love some perfume, just buy it when the budget allows. Something can disappear sooner than you expect.

I miss this one so much. It’s a masterpiece. Just like everyone else I’m stunned they ever discontinued this. Looking at the notes alone I’d never buy this. Frankly I hate rose and the other notes just don’t sound appealing to me at all. But the mix and balance of these was just unreal. This was a sexy spicy stunner. I’d say very unisex actually. Very quietly confident. Distinct but doesn’t make too much of itself. They better bring this back! Someone is trying to sell a bottle on eBay for almost $1000. It’s fantastic but not worth that kind of money. Weirdest recommendation: if you like this you might also really enjoy Twilight by Sarah Jessica Parker. It’s a spicy pink pepper vanilla that reminds me of old books. It’s not in any way a dupe but it has a similar quality. :)

Lumiere Noire is quite a lovely rose and patchouli combination. This is as authentic as rose gets. I get that musky smell you get when you sniff roses up close, or that overwhelming floral smell at a flower shop, complimented by something warm and faintly sweet. I would say this is pretty masculine for a rosy scent because of the woody and musky properties, but a lady could definitely pull this off with ease. It does have a very classic vibe; however, it is extremely modern and well put together. This is a fragrance that would get recognized for its classiness and elegance without asking for attention, which is why I see this as conservative in that regard. A worthy addition for those who enjoy a fresher rose-based fragrance that is ideal for spring. Absolutely gorgeous.

This scent, ladies and gentleman is a beautiful heavenly poem!!! A HEAVENLY POEM!!!! I bought this recently as a 1 ml sample from a fragrance shop on the net. I had learned about it through Fragrantica, reading through the posts. Upon trying it, I ended up buying a full bottle of Lumiere Noire. Out of all of the colognes I own and have collected over the years, this is my crown jewels!!! A classy man's rose, but so well blended that you almost don't notice it. It almost goes into unisex territory, but stays slightly more on the masculine side. A 007 type, suit and tie well dressed sharp man, ready to lady-kill romantic wear. The dry down is a heavenly poetic scent! I'm in love!!! :) Just GET IT! Best male rose out there!! Pure class all the way!

A very good fragrance with unbelievable silage and longevity. It is so powerful it lasts for sure more than 16 hours after little application. The fragrance can change only on your skin but not on fabrics. In my opinion related to Rose 31 by Le Labo but is deeper and more mysterious. I can compare LN to the typical oriental perfumes based on rose with animalic edge. There is very very little sweetness few hours after applications and little hint of powder characteristic for Francis Kurkdjian (e.g. Custo Men). According to description it is male fragrance but IMO it is also wearable for woman. I enjoy it very much.

It's soooo magical. This is one of my favorite scents. First of all, it's the best masculine rose i've ever gotten my nose on. Yes Le Labo Rose 31 is very good, but it aint got notta on this! It starts out like a fresh rose almost clean like a steamed shower. Then after an hour or so the best part begins! The cumin and cinnamon come in sand the rose becomes fresh but somewhat creamy. almost a gourmand rose scent. Love this love this love this. Wow!! Whoaaaa...! This smells great. Believe in me, when you use it more and more, it builds a connection of love. I adore this and on my to buy list definitely.

MFK Lumiere Noire Pour Homme (2009) - cumin rose-patchouli - Most would think the perfume would resemble a Rose Patchouli akin to Frederic Malle’s Portrait of a Lady, but this #franciskurkdijan creation is a streamlined and modernized version of Ysl’s Kouros with facets of his own La Male. Starts with Orange Blossom meets Neroli - dewy, honeyed yet zesty. At its heart, Rose, Patchouli, Civet and Cumin come into play. The animalics create a beautiful amber-musk warmth vs. urinal cake. The backbone of woods and white musks are well-made and create a diffusive trail. Sadly hard to find.

How could they possibly discontinue this! It's better than Baccarat rouge 540 by about a million miles. This one actually deserves the hype. Beautiful unisex fragrance. Maybe if it wasn't labeled Homme it would have more of a following. My father gave me this as a sample because it was too feminine for him. It's a gorgeous scent. And I normally hate rose! So this is impressive. Powerful, dark, spicy, clean, mysterious. Perfect evening fragrance for going out and then layering Zadig & Voltaire Tome 1 La purete for the morning after. Just gorgeous. They really need to bring this back!

I usually forget this fragrance in the frenzy of trying to find something new and unique. This should not be forgotten. The rose in here is enveloped by cinnamon, cumin, Musk, and patchouli. This leaves you with a more animalistic/spicy balanced rose with a small tinge of sweetness. Enough to be smelled in arms length, but not overpowering. The blend is excellent. It is fairly linear, but I don't care. It's great and I wish I reached for it more. If they would knock a few other titles off their lineup and bring this back I would be fine with that.

... I blind bought this perfume from MFK site. According written and video-reviews supposed to be interesting. And IT IS. Lumiere Noire is very unique perfume. Having bottle 24 hours and liking it more and more... Beautifly painted rose with sweet earthy patchouli,artemisia, sharp caraway and sparkling warm cinnamon. I would say, that notes are microscopically balanced ! It reminding me atmosphere of DK Chaos, love that smell.Never liked rose in perfume before, but now is different. Very good composition!Not for everybody, but Very well done!

Not a classic rose/patchouli at all. The rose is airy, although the opening is a little bit old-lady-like. 15 minutes after applying it turns more masculine, a little musky, and the artemisia is prominent. Slightly old fashioned, but does not feel dated at all. I get banana and slight fecal elements in the openining, but when these disappear, a very pleasant mature scent with an elegant "shadow of a rose" is there. Imagine a classic musky version of Dior Ambre Nuit (without the "amber" part). Longevity and sillage is decent. 88/100 points.

Impeccable. Something apple-ish in the composition that made me think of pharmacies and chemistry labs. The bitterness of artemisia warmed by cumin and a subdued, surprisingly humble rose. But it's all merged into a creamy, woody homogenic substance, as if these notes were just made for each other. Francis Kurkdjian is a master of balance. This was one of my instant and unexpected crushes. Speaks of eternal youth, the marble surface of Greek statues and the heat of North African evenings. Le Peche is rougher, but still similar enough.

To my nose, it's a splendid rose/pachoulli pretty well blended fragrance, that has a TERRIFIC drydown! Seriously, guys, besides the fact that has a HUGE projection and monster longevity. If you're looking for a rose-confident-male fragrance, I dare you to get to know this gem! Also got me a lot of compliments! My only advice is that, if you're a shy dude, this one it won't fit you. You gotta be pretty self-confident and spontaneous-type of guy. Best rose based fragrance in the game! Pretty amazing stuff!

It is a beautiful rose patchouli scent with some green citrus freshness (in the opening). This blast of freshness fades quickly and an earthy rose stands out given this fragrance a masculine edge. Within an hour, it gets a little spicy (cinnamon) and a lil skanky musky rose. As it settles, the musky rose becomes sweet and fresh. The notes are blended perfectly. Projection stays within an arm reach and the silage is breath of freshness. Don't understand why this fragrance is discontinued.

I saw all the fuss about this fragrance in here, so I decided to order a filled-clone version of this from a local perfumery that brings discontinued fragrances. It is an interesting scent, something I haven't smelled before, and it felt like I was smelling just 2 notes, which is Rose and Patchouli. And as people said here, it is really the most masculine rose scent that I could have smelled till now. A great fragrance, doesn't last much, but on skin its really good.

Beautiful, classy, elegant, romantic and masculine rose. Not an alpha male scent but not feminine either. Could be unisex even though it says Homme. After trying a couple of samples from MFK, this is the one that surprised me the most because of how beautiful yet underrated this is. Rose, patchouli, cinnamon and artemisia are the most prominent notes but they are very well blended without overpowering each other. So, yes. I ended up getting a full bottle.

This parfum is really beautiful and charming! Ethereal,sophisticated and delicate! This is not heavy, but is enveloping. I really like, the notes come together in perfect harmony with each other,they are intertwined. I like how the rose is always present, delicate and refined. Scent of a high level once again Francis Kurkdjian has not disappointed me. Poetic. Sillage: 6.5/10 Longevity: 8/10 Scent: 9/10 Overall: 9/10

just got a bottle from 2016. Beautiful! If you can find it, get it! It has the signature zesty MFK feel. It is so refined I find it hard to place the notes, it is more than a "rose" or "patchouli" it is a completely new creation, extremely well blended. The dry down is the star of the show, it lingers on my skin even after I took a shower! I can't stop sniffing my arm. In two words - deep & sparkly.

This fragrance is a wee bit strong at first which is probably why I didn't like it at first. But it also has excellent longevity. Lumiere noire pour homme is not feminine at all, it's a fresh manly scent, unique, mature but not "old guy". After wearing this it is by far one of my absolute favourites. I absolutely love it and even my wife who doesn't care about fragrances complemented it.

This may be over $200, but at least it smells like it should be over $200. It’s that good. So, if Mugler A*Men ever comes out with a Rose edition, it’s going to smell a lot like this. Whenever i wear this It always reminds me of A*Men, which I love by the way. This is just a cleaner version of it. Love the patchouli, rose combo. Very unique and the wife loves it on me. Screams class.

I don’t like it at first. It reminds me of an outdated scent and definitely not attractive. However, when I smell it again in about five minutes later, I am totally in LOVE with this perfume. It is very romantic, classy, and sensual. I smell spicy patchouli with a hint of rose that blend lovely together. Leaning more on the unisex than pour homme. Beautiful fragrance.

Rose and the musk in here is just wow. I’m not a usual fan of rose in perfume. I just get tired of it fast. MFK made me fall in love with rose. This is quality... it’s transparent but has weight. Reminds me of during all saints day and where everything is filled with greens and florals at dusk. It’s mysterious but approachable. Intriguing and sensual. 9.8/10

If your new to fragrances, and have not tried this, I hope you do. This is MFK greatest masterpiece. Francis Kurkdijian made a name for himself as a young parfumer with Le Malle, and Narciso Rodriquez. Lumier Noire PH is his own brand's, really special one. Of over 400 reviews this is easily in my top 2, along with French Lover by Frederic Malle.

This is the scent that got me into MFK. One of the absolute best masculine rose scents I've ever smelled. I usually hate cumin notes, but this has just enough to perfectly balance out the rose. Some find this to be one-dimensional, but I believe it's perfect in its simplicity. Lumiere Noire is a classy, refined, flawless masterpiece; peak MFK.

Master perfumer Francis Kurkdjian is no doubt one of the best in his field.. He has created great fragrances which showcase his unique talent of blending notes.. One of his masterpieces, Lumière Noire Pour Homme, is really a perfect mix of rose, patchouli and spices.. It's not overpowering but rather captivating, sensual and just lovely!

Refreshing, invigorating, powerful. I adore this. Must-buy. I don't think roses are the prominent note in this fragrance, men shouldn't be scared off. This is a great masculine scent, very confident and strong. UPDATE: 01/17/2021 Cinnamon, just beautiful. Lasts all day. Stunning. Definitely full-bottle worthy. A good investment.

Such good stuff and of course it’s discontinued. I love a rose-cumin combo, and this one nails it. It opens with a spicy rose, then dries down to a warm, musky rosy scent. Despite notes like cinnamon and cumin, it stays classy and elegantly understated. Performance is sneaky good: moderate projection with all-day longevity.

One of the best rose + patchouli combo on the market. For me this fragrance is all about romance. I feel like it creates an light red aura of romantic love, making me feel more confident and in a certain way more beautiful and sexy. If you like rose, it ́s a must have. Women often give compliments when i use. 4/5 stars

A beautiful ethereal sexy fragrance for a man to wear. It's not like you are smelling a rose up close but smelling a rose mixed in with something sexy on the breeze. It is refined and Sophisticated and smells like the feeling of been in love has been captured in a bottle. Simply wonderful and a true delight to wear.

Couldn't help but love MFKLNPH more every time after wearing it. Although I wish its longevity can be better, I would not mind to live with this little flaw because of its extreme beauty. If it would come in a higher concentration in the future, I would most definitely get a bottle even for a 30%+ higher price.

This was a stunner for me when I was beginning to collect. The light and dark theme is perfect. Maybe more like clean and dirty. The rose is a soapy aldehydiic rose. Then the cumin and the green wormwood give it a perfect contrast. I sold my partial, now regretting. A good one to bring back.

Really beautiful scent - at first, I was a little apprehensive given that it was a Rose-based scent, however, once I wore it, I found it to be a seriously high-quality and exquisite experience. Incredible number of people coming to me (friends + strangers) asking me what I'm wearing.

Very elegant in its simplicity, this is a rose so rich and well mannered that it requires no adornment. It's a perfect pillar to the bon vivant life. If you know or encounter someone wearing this, you're in very good company. This doesn't suit me. It's too upper class and all.

Lumiere Noire is a gorgeous, sexy and classy fragrance. An interesting Rose/Patchouli/Cinnamon blend that comes off quite masculine with a very pleasant vibe. Kurkdjian has done a fabulous job with this one. Simply one of the best Rose scents out there, elegance in a bottle.

A real sleeper of a fragrance from Maison Francis Kurkdjian. You don’t see Lumiere Noire Pour Homme spoken about in the same way as BR is. But it absolutely should. A gem of a fragrance that can be summarised as a green rose masculine scent. Just beautiful. 10/10

Starts off a little bit dirty and animalic on my skin but then it turns into a beautiful masculine scent with a touch of roses that lasts for many hours. A true masterpiece and a must have for perfume collectors. Scent: 10/10 Longevity: 9/10 Projection: 8/10

Lumière Noire pour Homme is absolutely sophisticated and elegant. It is a gentle rose with a hint of patchouli and spices. It is very lyrical, poetic and just gets better as the day progresses. It lasts a very long time on me. I cannot stop smelling myself.
