Oud Cashmere Mood

Some scents are simply overbearing for the common crowd, hence easily misunderstood. Indeed, Cashmere Mood appears to be one of them, albeit marginally. This is one of rare commercial perfumes out there that rightly deserves the "Oud" label, thanks to Kurkjian's genius for blending artificial ingredients to form one of the best representations of Laotian Oud available in market. Scent: 8/10 Outstanding Barnyard, skanky, fecal...whatever you might describe. Some that might have suspected genuine oud oil is sorely mistaken - true, aged oud oil are never repulsive to smell (despite being barnyard and all). For this, we have Kurkjian's masterful blending to thank for weaving in high quality aromachemicals. The main giveaway was how much the "oud" changes through time, and the slight sharpness when sniffed up close. Nonetheless, this produces an exotic, enigmatic air that envelops the wearer. While other harsh fragrances tend to have some softened, mass-appealing aspect, this one simply screams uniqueness. You can almost be assured that you would not meet anyone else with this scent for a night's out. Oh, the drydown is simply heavenly. Delicious labadanum and artificial oud at their best. Longevity: 8.5/10 It behaves exactly like an extrait should, and lasts as it should, although it loses out a little to some Montales and perhaps Dior's Oud Ispahan. This lasts so long that it could cause discomfort. Projection: 9/10 Never. Go. Trigger. Happy. For the first 3 hours of application this projects like a grenade blast, after which it trails comfortably into a skin scent. Apply on skin for the sweet drydown. Versatility: 3/10 This grading scheme is arguably unfair here. Because of how rich and polished this smells, there's no way to fit this fragrance as part of the casual wardrobe, and probably not for formal events where one's impression matters (unless you're like me, wearing whichever I fancy in high summer heat). I see this as more of a personal scent reserved for one's sole enjoyment. Don't get me wrong - it doesn't deserve to be marked down like that, but you'll have to consider being able to actually use it if you're willing to fork out 300 USD. Overall: 6.5/10 Good Drastically underrated due to its versatility. But hey, if you don't care about offending others, this might become part of your daily wear. It's just that good.

I decided this is too synthetic. I enjoy my 11 ml occasionally during the winter. But I don't think I will repurchase, because I enjoy more natural compositions. This is a wonderfull smoky, medecinal Oud. It is a rather clean, high quality synthetic oud, not the barn-yard type. The most important thing I can say that others have not, so much; is that though it is somewhat dark, it is not dense, or heavy. Performance is great, but it's luminous and bright enough for an Oud that can be enjoyed in Spring and cooler Summer days, or maybe nights. I'm wearing this on a cool Spring day, and it's beautiful. It's luminous, and very pleasantly aromatic, very unique also. Of the MFK Ouds, this is closest to YSL M-7, but this is fresher, crisp, less sweet, more modern; For me better overall. I revisited my samples of Cashmere and Velvet Mood. Cashmere is my clear favorite, of these two; most manly ouds in the series. The original is very good, and the only one I would call gender neutral. Kurkdijian has tried to make a sharp Eastern style Oud here, that's medecinal, and fecal, but in a good way, as the most authentic Ouds are. So this harsh burning smell, that many so describe, is actually very pleasant. The quality is exquisite. There is something fresh about it. The softer, nutty resins of Benzoin and Labdanum, make a seamless contrasting accord with the sharper, medecinal Oud. It's rather linier, and it seems very simple, but it just smells so damn good! The quality, and blending are so tight, and just so, right on. I guess it's genius at work here. Cashmere, is now bottle worthy. At first I thought it was good, but not worthy of the price. Now I am seeing it as a great and distinctive fragrance. There are contrasting themes that go well, and juxtapose each other. The sharp, cold, yet burning Oud, intensely woody, and medecinal. But then it has a more pleasant and softer resins; Benzoin and Labdanum. Benzoin having a nutty quality. The vanilla is indistinct, but it ads some softness and balance, to the overall sharp woody tone. A very pleasant and distinct Oud. It's one of those fragrances that needs time to warm up to; aquire a taste for. I got a 11 ml spray for now, will last a long time. Rating: 8.25/10 God bless. John 3:16

I just read Fragranceluva4 review and as much as he said do not blind buy this scent, I did anyway 😂. I found it for a crazy deal and didn't want to pass up on this!. I sampled satin and silk and they were good but I wanted to own a "true" oud scent. I agree that if you are not open to distinctive scents this will definitely scare someone. I did layer this with my TF Lost cherry and 😍😍😍 pure heaven! and as much as this can be worn alone ( definitely can't be trigger happy) this layers beautifully with sweet scents! The Burnt rubber/leather vibes is very seducing to me and the vanilla creeps up in the dry down but still the oud is ever-present! I own FM Promise and that scent is def sweeter but I still like this one! This is however my initial reaction so I will update on this. I will say i'm 4 hrs in and this is a BEAST!! literally one spray on my right wrist ( I sprayed FM promise on my left to compare) and this bad boy is definitely to be worn outdoors and in very cold nights. UPDATE!: So I can be trigger happy ( which earlier I said go easy on this one) well I tested this out again today and LITERALLY I just did one spray and OMG!! I read from another review say they smell blueberry and I get it too!!! I'm learning from this scent that literally all you have to do is one spray and you can REALLY get the fullness of the scent because if you spray too much you can enjoy it. I'm laying in bed just sniffing my arm and enjoying this!!

I was craving my Cashmere Oud this morning, after not being able to smell for 8 months from COVID. Oud Cashmere Oud is my favorite of the MFK Ouds. I also like the original Oud by Kurkdijian, which was inspired by the popular Tom Ford Oud Wood I believe. MFK frags are very clean smelling. Oud Cashmere has a clean, synthetic, bandaid smelling Oud. Benzoin is one of my favorite woody resins, it also is a very clean woody balsamic note. This is mostly linier oud and benzoin accord. The labdanum and vanilla are hardly noticable; more so in the drydown a couple hours in... PS: Wow, I was saying goodbye to this discontinued gem. I looked on ebay, and elsewhere, could not find this for sale. Then I found and ordered the Cashmere extract from Bergdorf Goodman. So glad to have it. It is a unique, clean oud that I enjoy. I remember how I loved this outdoors on icy cold days. It really cuts through the cold, and smells like burning wood. This is the most woody, and only MFK Oud without rose or safron. It is the most masculine. I finally understand how this can be thought of as, smooth as Cashmere. Fragrances with this kind of medecinal synthetic oud, are normally quite harsh. Because of the benzoin, and natural labdanum and vanilla, this comes off, amazingly smooth, and soft for a medecinal oud. Rating: 9/10 God loves you. John 3:16

First time I smelled this perfume 4 months ago, I really hate this fragrance. Falling in love with its sweet rose scent, 2 months ago I decided to buy the Silk Mood after I got a tester of it, but still a big NO for this one. Happens that 2 weeks ago, I helped my friend to take this sample since she curious about it by spraying it into a small vial to be sent to her. Some of it was spilled into my fingers.. As I went home, I keep sniffing my fingers and the more I smell this frag, the more I like it. Until today I decided to buy a bottle to pamper my nose. I admit I'm quite new in Frag, and OUD is really something new for me, as I tried to avoid ozonic and woody scent, so I always include OUD on my black list.. Maybe that's why I couldn't really enjoy it that time. I think it just need some time for people who haven't tried Oud before. I'd recommend to whoever never tried oud before, try to sniff this one for some period of time, then you'll find a pleasure from it.. :) For projection, No comment yet, but for longevity, its as even more awesome than the Silk Mood one. I sprayed around 10 hours ago in the store, and now I still can smell it faintly on my wrist, even after shower and countless of hand washing!

First of all this is HARDCORE niche perfumery - which means that a perfume like this is not for everyone. Really hard to understand and to appreciate, even harder to be able to wear this and pull it off with style. It starts with a BOMB of benzoin, I mean tons of it, it slightly reminds me of a gas station, so you will need about 5 minutes for the opening to settle down. This is when labdanum starts to shine, finding a bit of a balance with benzoin, on a strong oud base. Vanilla is quite undetectable, very quietly sitting on the back of the whole composition. This perfume brought me back a very vivid memory of my childhood that I hardly knew that it exist: when I was like 4 or 5 years old - I couldn't even write or read - I used to go to our dinning room and open a wooden drawer where my father kept some vinyl records of his, his cigars and some plastic folders with lots of business papers on them. This is EXACTLY how it smell, I was never sure if this was a nice smell but it is all about memories, right? *This review was written after several full wearings of the perfume and not just after smelling this on paper or on wrist.

Cashmere Oud is like walking into a Jaguar car dealership. Exotic, refined, luxury, clean and classy. And way out of my price range! (on long road trips I always pitstop at expensive car dealerships, they are happy to see someone and the restrooms are always clean!) Back to the Jaguar dealership: a waft of car wax, rubber tires, electrical wires, leather seats, new car glue, thick glass, shiny mirrors and freshly cleaned carpets. Once you get past the petrol and anti-septic blast, when it’s warmed on skin for at least 20 – 30 minutes do you start to perceive a warm, polished wood, resin wax and comforting vanilla. Then after an hour the dry down is a luxurious roll in fresh cut hay and bay leaves with amber undertones that last for hours. This scent feels appropriately decadent, more masculine than feminine, Cashmere Oud was fun to test drive, it is not for most of us, that is what makes it a rarity, the rest of us drive Skodas.

I tried using this fragrance when I was visiting local MFK dealer to but another bottle of Baccarat 540. Actually I was expecting a soft pure oud. But what I felt is a comfortable & enchanting familiarity. I would say some overused phrase like love at the first .... but it's true. Now I know what I most love from my past favourite Terre d'Hermes and one of my current favourite Tom Ford Tobacco Oud. It is not the amber, nor the tobacco, and not even the oud. It's probably this benzoin scent. But the way MFK combines this benzoin scent with oud and vanilla gives this fragrance an elegant uniqueness. My Tom Ford Tobacco Oud and Ermenegildo Zegna Indonesian Oud may have peace in my collection box now. MFK Cashmere Mood is now my favourite for for both formal & daily use.

Goes on without to much projection until body heat gets it going. It's a real pleasure to feel the tendrils of scent starting to lift in the minutes after application... Top Warm rubbery a touch of barnyard and spices, like walking through a traditional souk, animals and all. The benzoin is really dominant at this stage. There is a touch of sweetness but it is still very dry. Mid Warm smooth leathery oud nuttiness with a touch of fruitiness appears. Not too sweet amber shares the show. Drydown After 4 hours, more amber mixed with oud, later a balmy dried fruit note emerges. 6+ hours, scent within 1 inch of skin, balmy amber getting a bit sweet with fruit notes. Deliciousness... A beautifully judged creation...

Now this a true niche fragrance as we love ‘em! A real MFKing gem! 😉 Real Oud at its finest! Starts with such a bright sharp benzoin and menthol combo and then with time you can see the Laotian ouf clearer and clearer very very smoky... stays pretty much linear all day on my skin but what an absolute legendary juice that is! Despite the high price, you have to appreciate the quality of the ingredients used right here! You get what you pay for with this juice right here! If you’re a true oud lover you should blind buy that gem 💎 no doubt you’d love it For the rest of y’all who are not so enthOUDiastic 😜 I’d recommend you sample it first and get to learn it until you quickly fall for it ❤️

Opens up slightly fecal, diaper like. Some metallic touches too, new asphalt, tar, pinetar motor oil, mechanic shop, but overall very much a burning log of wood with heavy balmyness and slight creamy notes supporting. Super cozy and comforting. Perfect for really cold weather. I have worn this in March at night in Finland OUTSIDE with the stars in the sky and temperature at -20. That's what I envision with this scent. It is a cabin or outdoor frosty weather scent, but i still wear it year round. Not cloying in warmer weather. True masterpiece and the only true Oud by MFK, aside from oud velvet mood which is very similar but even smokier and more fecal, nutty too.

This one is my favorite in his Oud Mood line. This Oud is addicting, raw, dirty, animalistic and potent. Kurkdjian imagined the OUD mood collection as feelings, sensations, rather like those one would have when wrapped in a fragrant stole. They play on shimmer, comfort and warmth. They are precious, intense and concentrated. This Oriental fragrance is woven with all the gentleness of a “second skin”, soft, raw, dirty and balmy. The Oud is enhanced with Moroccan labdanum, Laotian benzoin and vanilla, creating a tender, yet animalic experience. Quite extraordinary. This one is definitely my favorite from this line. The best OUD smell on the market IMO.

An all time forever favorite showstopper. Every time I sprayed even the slightest on my wrist, I would find myself constantly checking in with the scent. Transportive waves of warm tendrils of smoke, incense, resin, a holy grail of sacred heat to anchor your mind and soul. Oud gave it an animalistic depth that grounded you in a wave of strength and sex. Melding, creation, art. On my neck, I would always get a compliment. I have a few drops left in my only bottle, I save it for moments when I need to be transported. I hope they reissue it one day.

To me the oud perfumes are often too animalic or too harsh. And frankly i hate oud fragrances. But this is something different. Have you watched skyfall?? That scene when they arrive to that old house..it’s cloudy, not even a single ray of sun can’t reach the earth and and there’s no wind whatsoever. Too calm as if the house has been enchanted by some witch or spell. Then you hug a wood trunk that death has penetrated it. This is a strange, strong, in your face scent. It made me sick the first time I smelled it, but a few days later I put it on to see how it wore on skin. It is smoky, almost peaty, with a rubbery undertone that I typically hate, but here it works. It feels like I am wrapped in a wool blanket that was slept in by a man who had spent a winter day working outside in the woods and then fell asleep in front of a smoky hardwood fire. it gives me the same feeling I have when I used to steal my father's t-shirts and sleep in them.

Overall: 8.75/10 Here's Why: This is going to sound obscene but i smell like a sexy, oud covered band-aid. Brilliantly balmy, medicinal and sometimes a little over the top. This is a powerhouse, just when you think its starting to smell a little bit dried down, BOOM another cloud envelopes you. It's the strangest thing. Sillage & Longevity are out of control! This is a weird one, but for Niche perfume addicts like me... You'll love it! Rubber, menthe?, oud & a skanky vanille. Well Played :)

This is my reference oud fragrance. Very warm and I get an oriental peppery oud feel. The vanilla plays a very good role to round things out among with the resins. Perfect for cold weather and very strong, confident and manly. One spray on a thick jumper and your are all set. The oud can be challenging for those who are not eperienced with the medicinal kind of oud. Overall this is a staple in my collection whenever I feel like wearing oud. Beautiful and classy presentation and box.

Lovely fragrance and my favourite in the Oud Mood series. Soothing and balmy; it reminds me a bit bit of Pure Oud by Kilian, which I also love. Very good sillage and longevity. I've noted that its now an extrait instead of edp and it shows itself in its tenacity. Leave a scented card in a room and it you'll smell it for days. Perfect balance of oud and benzoin evokes a feeling of a warm cashmere sweater wrapped around you. Sometimes that's all you really need.

The more I wear this fragrance the more I understand it. Folks this is truly a masterpiece and a monster at the same time in a little bottle. The performance on this is just beastly. The opening can be too much, lots of benzoin but do not over spray this atomic bomb. This is extract of perfume so it is very potent. But the dry down is just gorgeous. Classy, burning wood with some hints of vanilla and amber. This is dark, mysterious class in a bottle.

A very refined oud fragrance containing real natural oud with creamy vanilla notes. I received two compliments on the same day wearing this and the high price is definitely worth it. It swings to the masculine side due to its smokiness. A must-have for real oud fans and another masterpiece from MFK. The oud is medicinal in this one, which people without acquired tastes won't like. No, it has NOT been discontinued.

Exactly the scent of a peaty single malt scotch on me, what a wonderful surprise! I love the conceit of boozy perfumes but I didn't expect to find it here! Full of smoke yet not too dry, sadly like the other dark smoky scents I love, it doesn't have too much projection on me, darn it! I wonder what it will be like tempered with a little Silk or Velvet Oud for more warmth and projection?

I was lucky to stumble on a early 2014 bottle of this. Got it immediately. It is magical and the juice is so dark red it's almost black. 2 sprays all you need. Will choke you out. I can't even do this fragrance justice with a review yet because it's so good. Been in love with it for 2 years and finally got a bottle back in september<3

Stronger than the MFK's Classic Oud. I do not know about being unisex because I personally feel Cashmere Oud reflects manliness - that gentle firm feeling. As you go about doing your thing, a sudden whiff, and it settles you down. Love it, but I have to let it be for the next 6 hours before going after the user votes.

Full wearing yesterday here in hot humid Jakarta, insane 24hr (probably more) longevity with only 1 spray on t shirt, so good im amazed. I like this better than Oud Velvet Mood, that one has a pretty generic sweet kinda smell drydown, while this one almost stayed close to the opening after 24 hour. Heavenly.

This is a cool, smoky , woody oud, with a bit of sweetness from the vanilla. No florals. The Oud is medicinal. Rare and discontinued fragrance. I have put my hardy used bottle up for purchase on ebay. 1/3/2026

I think the creamy woodiness is comming from Guaiac wood. I've gotten to know guaiac a bit, it smells like it's in here, with a perfectly blended , slightly sweet vanilla.

This is amazing. It smells exactly like American Oud by Ensar Oud. Real and raw, smokey, slightly petrol-like. ;) Very well balanced and smells like real oud.

If you were to coat yourself in pine tar, then youd technically be wearing oud cashmere. Love it!!!

It’s perfection in a luxurious bottle 10/10 .

This one is kind of a median separating two stretches of highway for me. On one there is Satin Mood Extrait which... try as I might has some medicinal chemical type scent to my nose that just does NOT work. I will probably try for the rest of my life to *get* that fragrance and how it’s described by so many, and maybe someday I will. On the other side of the highway is Silk Mood Extrait. A god damn fucking masterpiece. The often overlooked in the frag world brother to Satin, this one just works for me in every facet. And now we come to Cashmere. I will say up front that this has a bit of the medicinal chemical aspect from Satin that I do not like in the slightest, but it’s much more of a background feature whereas in Satin it shouts at you like Stephen Malkmus in Conduit for Sale! off Slanted and Enchanted. Yes medicinal note, we know you’re trying. Cashmere envelops you in a warm, fuzzy, almost scratchy and stuffy wool cocoon. It’s that median between comforting like a soft blanket by the fire on the coldest night of the year, and an MRI machine when you’re waiting to find out if everything’s alright with your brain. It plays such a fine line between the warmth from a significant other and the claustrophobic clinging on after they’ve become an ex and you’ve let them go that there is a love and a hate with this fragrance that pulls at you. It is both, at the same time a well oiled baseball mitt you are sweating into at the height of summer that fills you with nostalgia, and the dirt that fills your face from someone sliding into a base on that very same field. Whereas I can see both Satin and Silk being worn year round, this should only be reserved for the coldest of days. It is that much of a down filled jacket. Sillage is moderate, longevity outstanding, but once again Kurkdjian should be applauded for evoking such emotion from something he’s created. After all, the worst fear of a true artist is not love or hate of their work, but rather no reaction at all.

I have smelled several samples of pure oud oil, and noticed that an oud is not an oud: each differs from the other. While rankings are on point about oud being the primary note in this fragrance, it is a very smokey oud. It reminds me of finnish (well, or lithuanian, where I am originally from) village saunas, or, even more so, of LAPSANG SOUCHONG TEA. I am amazed at how little of this fragrance goes a long way. Despite being a fragrance lover, I am not all that sensitive to scents, I fear: I always want longer-lasting, stronger, more. So far--5 hours in--this seems to endure and has even grown stronger, which is surprising since I applied only one spray to four pulse points, rather than spraying all up and down my arms and torso as I usually do with fragrances, and then addding more to clothes. It is very smokey, very unisex. Despite its decent sillage and, so far, good longevity, it is by nature not eh kind of scent that I imagine would piss many people off and therefore safe to wear night or day, to work or elsewhere. It's hard to imagine it being offensive; it doesn't even smell the way most people associate human perfumes (vs just smells in the air, like campfires or wood branches) to smell like. It is a little one-note, but that note is an erudite and complex one, if that makes sense. It is too complex to use for layering, for instance. On the other hand, it isn't ornate or unique enough for me to be a signature: would I recognize it immediately in a sea of smells? I don't know. This oud is definitely more smoke, less incense. It's very warm and not acrid nor biting. It works great with human skin and smells sophisticated and, for such a smokey woody scent, understated.

Beautiful, manageable, wearable oud that's still got a solid character of its own and is just that little bit more weird than 'entry level' things with Oud in the name. This really does have it - plenty of that medicinal, almost sour, 'antiseptic' version of the wood, but with the resins wrapping it all up in a softer, gentler, sweeter aura so you don't quite feel like you're being suffocated with a giant band-aid. The longer it stays on, the more the drier, spicier - almost cinnamon-y - side of the oud rises. It's almost austere - very simple and clean and without a profusion of notes - and it's very classy, but not opulent or extrovert. Conjures images of realllllly expensive antique furniture and reading something demanding in a foreign language in some high-class magnate's library of first editions. It's a bit more stern than some of the other MFK luxe-fest scents like Grand Soir or Baccarat Rouge; this one makes you work a little harder somehow - while those others just caress and pamper you, Cashmere Mood teases and interrogates and intrigues you. For me, perfectly unisex, but some may find it a little too butch. Projection not huge, but longevity is solid. Far far more discreet on me than Satin Mood. I like it a whole lot but - oddly for me - would have liked it even more if it was a hair sweeter. The cost is scary enough that I'd have to be really in love, absolutely bowled over, to buy this, and while I'm deeply impressed, I'm not completely seduced. One to respect rather than drool over, in my opinion only.

I felt I had to do a re write of my original review, although it's pretty accurate. The quality of this fragrance is undeniable, the ingredients used are of superb and the Oud from Laos which Francis uses in this line has a distinctive quality in my opinion. The labdanum is atomic in strength and the smokey dry down is so intense, complex, forever changing and projects insanely. Its quite amazing how it retains the sharp resinous qualities of the opening for hours constantly flipping between that and a darker smokey woody feel. I wore it today (a very minimal application I might add) I had a CRAZY sillage trail, everywhere I went I was very conscious of how I smelled. My girlfriend who adores Oud and this one was no different in fact she especially loved it. However, after spending a day with me she said it was too much and I have to say I agree. I had this down in my hate pile to begin with, simply because I found it so extreme and medicinal in the opening but once you let it dry down its a stunning scent, a showstopper really. Too expensive and barely wearable to add to my collection but a truly amazing piece of work, facets of this fragrance are spellbinding...check it out if you can, doesn't translate on a card so try it on your skin.

I was able to get my hands on the Oud Mood Collection from Maison Francis Kurkdjan . I will do my best to give you an accurate review and description as much as possible . Hopefully this is helpful for any of you who are deciding upon which fragrance to get and also if any of them are worth the hefty price tag . Cashmere Mood is different than what I expected it to be . it is incredibly smoky and a bit dry . there is a minimal amount vanilla and therefore a lack of any creamy, softness I expected from a "cashmere" vibe. It's rather the opposite: sturdy, strong, deep and resinous. I do get a hefty amount of resin. one thing I do like about this is it does smell unique and different from any other Oud I have tested, and for that reason alone I feel it's worth a try. Definitely leans masculine. Women can wear with confidence. Sillage is moderate thus far. Longevity is enormous. Oud from Laos, labdanum from Morocco, benzoin from Laos, and finished with vanilla. It can be envisioned as an office scent. Woody oriental. Soft? Perhaps. Creamy? No. Worth $375? Not to me. As you can tell, I prefer my ouds with a jamminess, sweetness, rose and/or current. Perhaps we'll see with MFK Silk Mood.

Very smokey! At least it isn't as overly (from a masculine perspective) feminine as some of the other MFK Oud offerings, but the campfire note predominates to the exclusion of all other notes. I'm a big fan of MFK in general but this is not my favorite. This may be the ideal scent for lumbersexuals - bearded urban guys who want to appear more outdoorsy than they really are. It will make them smell like they have just returned from roasting meat over a campfire, meat from an animal they stalked, killed and gutted themselves. Whereas in reality they have just spent the last eight hours hunched over a laptop in Starbucks doing freelance social media marketing for $0.02 per like. This is their scent. But only if they save up. UPDATE: After wearing one and a half sprays from a 2ml sample bottle on my hand for a few hours, I've washed it off. Actually scrubbed it off - four times, using liquid castile soap. This is some tenacious stuff! My hand still smells like I've been fighting wildfires in the Rocky Mountains. When in reality I've been sitting in front of a computer, editing my Fragrantica review instead of doing urgent work...

I've tried MFK's Oud and Satin Oud, both of which are nice, mild, work friendly oud fragrances. This is not that. This is finally want I wanted out of Oud and Oud Satin -it is an unforgiving strong woody, amber and a bit smokey fragrance. "Dirty" but not in a patchouli way, it's earthy but cleaner and more refreshing. It's bitter without being too harsh. It's sharp and a bit spicy as well. Something a little musky/animalic. Kind of leathery. It's very strong but surprisingly doesn't have the kind of projection that you would imagine, the sillage is medium on my skin about 1-2' feet from my body and only continues to recede as it drys down. Overall I think that this is a great masculine fragrance, it's very commanding and a "true oud" if there is one. There is some initial harshness that needs to be gotten over but it does eventually mellow out and the oud here really takes a beautiful center spotlight. Overall I really like it, but wouldn't personally wear it. It's certainly not what I would recommend for oud beginners, but for people who are bored and tired of sweet and savory ouds this is a must. 7.5/10

This won't be my favorite oud fragrance, but I kinda enjoyed wearing it. It has a fantastic quality and staying power is 12+ hours. "Cashmere Mood" opened very harsh and might be disliked for this very same reason, but it settles to a very comfortable and warm labdanum-oud combo. Oud here is slightly rubbery (and this is the reason why I don't love it), labdanum adds a very bitter yet comforting warmness that wraps around you. Even though there is hints of sweet vanilla, this is a very masculine perfume. This will very much appeal to those who enjoy bitter and herbal labdanum + benzoin. I do enjoy both, but I don't like the rubbery oud. For me these notes do not work very well together, I do like it, but I find it very weird like there is something wrong. The drydown was very musky + herbal from benzoin.

If you sampled MFK's standard Oud and liked what it was doing but found it too light and elegant, then tried the Oud Extrait and wondered what on earth happened..... This was what you were looking for. This is the MFK Oud giving you a love tap on the schnozz with a bonus thin undercurrent of sweetness to tame the medicinal qualities a tiny tiny amount. Not even faintly "cashmere" to me - this is an exotic wood-resin infused bomber jacket of fuzziness. The og Oud Extrait hits that ultra-soft fuzzy clean-light warm bury your face in it note better for me, complete with some hint of exotic mothball. This is all bear and rugged - and lets everyone know. I can see why it was discontinued, and wonder if the confusing placement within the range didn't help - it mystifies me completely.

Here we have an Oud quite similar to the Ouds of the Middle East, this review, lean more towards the medicinal side astringent, very incisive, which stands out from the rest of the notes leaving more to the margin the vegetable and animal nuances of this essence . The fragrance develops quite linearly and during drying only balsamic nuances of moderate sweet character appear that makes this final part the richest and most interesting of the evolution due to the richness of shades. This is an oud without subtleties, too rough in the beginning, nice in the drying. Personally, I am more lover of the more European ouds, however, the experience has been interesting and the quality-performance very good. Rating: 6.5

A charismatic and interesting fragrance but so HARSH it hits you like a sledge hammer. It's one of the most bizarre things I've ever smelled Labdanum, Benzoin and Oud create such a powerful accord that is unique in it's signature. I appreciate the skill that went into making this and it's superb quality but there's no way I could wear it on my skin it's too much of an acquired taste and I don't mean the Oud either! I like velvet mood and the original which may seem a little boring especially compared to Cashmere. The original has more of a raw Oud scent to me instead of a launchpad for other strong notes it has complimentary ones that in my opinion are more understated and suited to a man.

I can't write beautiful reviews like most , but I ordered a decant of this few months ago. I put on one spray and damn it was burning my nose. So strong and I felt I had a pretty decent nose trained at this time. I absolutely could not stand it. Was horrible. Well that decant has been in my decant holder since. I came back to it tonight that black juice looking back at me like you sissy . Well i showed him and tried it again and how the eff I love it now. Still has that strong nose tingling smell but slightly calmer. I do not think everyone can p u ll this off and definitely don't wear it church like I plan to tomorrow ha Jk or am i

A reference oud fragrance for me. Absolutely nicely Amazing. Smoky, medicinal oud. Rough and intoxicating. Quality oud. Not gentle at all. You need to have balls to pull this on. If you are a woman with floral preferencies, this might be a bit too much. Cashmere mode extrait is potent, so be easy on a trigger. While I would not buy a full bottle to my Collection, since this is not an everyday scent, I will continue ordering a sample each time I make order at MFK web-site to have some ml for a night out.
