Oud Velvet Mood

I just reviewed Cashmere, which I liked very much. Velvet has that sharp, medecinal, burning like opening, but then you notice some green notes blended in. One thing Francis Kurkdjian is said to do in his MFK fragrances; that they are like other popular fragrances done with the highest quality notes, and having somewhat, his own twist. Having tried most Amouage fragrances, I think he is copying Interlude Man, or even some Epic Man here. After the opening, Velvet Mood becomes a nice smooth, woody Oud, with some greeness, and spices. But I have Amouage Interlude Man, that is very much like this, with equal quality and better performance. This is not as heavy as Interlude Man, and more wearable. The copahu balm adds a nice nutty quality. I think the Copahu balm makes Velvet Mood special, it's growing on me... Velvet and Cashmere Mood are Eastern Oud fragrances in his Oud Mood series. I think the original is my favorite, then Cashmere. Velvet Mood is smelling moldy now in the drydown, maybe it's the copahu balm. I'm not sure I like it. PS:. I like Velvet Mood better than Cashmere now. In the mid-drydown, Velvet becomes nicer. The safron is light, but adds a nice leathery floral touch, and the copahu balm is very unique and interesting. With Cashmere, it becomes a bit borring from the mid-drydown, becoming more of a Labdanum fragrance, with a sharp oud finish. I read the review of a parfumer below, who is sure the Oud is completely the synthetic variety. I was suspecting that, because it's very sharp and bright, whereas a true Oud is more dense and smooth. My favorite Oud, that is rich and smooth, is Diptyque's Oud Palao. Rating: 8.5/10 God bless. John 3:16

I was (re)introduced to Velvet almost by fate. I was moving to anew state and packing up the house and along with it all of my fragrances. I kept a few decant and samples in my personal bag, one of which was a carded sample of Velvet Mood I received from a friend yrs ago. I'd spray my wrists once a day almost as if I had to because at first I did not like it. Day after day (MFK Samples LAST, love them) until I almost need to spray it once a day to get my Velvet fix. It became almost a closet love for me. It exposes different facets dependent on temperature of air and skin. It is so warm and comforting with heated skin but at the same time unique enough to be a fingerprint. I have so many memories of the cottage we rented as we packed out home for a week to close one half of our life to the next. Satin Mood EDP is my favorite, also discovered on a journey from our old home to our now current oddly enough, followed by Oud Extrait but neither in any way competes with the others. They all offer something very different and down right best in class IMHO. I am an MFK fanboy but for good reason, they operate at the very top of the Perfume World. Velvet Mood will join my collection soon as it has already carries many pivotal memories and a close personal bond. Another great example that REVISITING is the greatest perspective altering force in perfume testing/wearing.

Goes on without to much projection until body heat gets it going. It's a real pleasure to feel the tendrils of scent starting to lift in the minutes after application... Top The Oud and saffron dance together sinuously. Others mentioned an industrial setting, I have experience of a steel mill and it did indeed evoke the smells of raw steel, welding fumes and oil. Mid Industrial vibe recedes and balmy saffron oud takes centre stage, with a little sweetness from cinnamon in support. You can see where this one gets its name here...Very smooth... Drydown Super smooth drydown at 4 hours, and a little stronger than Cashmere at this time. Incredibly radiant, almost hollow. There is something incredibly alluring about the saffron/oud hollow radiance and musky drydown... it's perfectly judged and very satisfying. My favourite from the Oud Mood collection.

Leans feminine. I prefer this to Bacarrat Rouge 540. BR540 smells like lightly scented plastic to me - that is to say it smells of nothing and does not wow me. I don't understand the hype. Oud Velvet Mood OTH smells like lychees and clean freshly dried linens. There some alcohol in the initial spray but that disappears quickly. I smell no Oud or Agarwood which, in this case, is a good thing. There's soapiness in there too which adds to the scent of cleanliness but it's a cleaner kind of soapiness compared to say Dylan Blue for women. Once all of that disappears though the scent devolves into the stereotypical MFK DNA that makes you smell like an old gambler whose favorite haunt are the tables at the local 5 star hotel-cum-casino. Works as an everyday scent. Good for casual setting and in the office.

This is truly amazing. I am not sure if it is for everyone, the oud approach here screams "niche". When I first tried it I just could not get enough of it, I kept smelling myself and what I smell made me feel confident, elegant and happy. Longevity monster, nearly 20 hours on skin and more than 3 days on clothes, really strong staff here. My nose got so addicted to this that I could not wait to find the perfect opportunity to wear this again. Simply awesome. *This review was written after several full wearings of the perfume and not just after smelling this on paper or on wrist.

The majestic, enveloping OUD velvet mood gives the sensation of density and fluidity. Together, cinnamon from Ceylan, saffron and Brazilian copahu balm combine to release spicy oud fragrance that is heavy and plush.This one has a very unique dry down, it has this weird amazing potent rubbery dry down and don't get me wrong the rubber smells very classy and smoky. This one is probably the most hardcore and strongest of his Oud mood line. For fans seeking the trifecta: Woody, warm, and smokey, look no further.

I really enjoy this fragrance I loved Oud and velvet mood might just have pipped it as its a little bolder and less striped back. Unfortunately, I came to the conclusion that I wouldn't wear any of them despite them being lovingly and beautifully crafted and on the whole really well put together. As I mentioned with the original the subtlety of using the right notes to compliment and make the Oud wood shine. I cant get over the fact that they're VERY expensive and I just don't like Oud that much to bother.

A nice woody spicy minimalist Oriental with high quality ingredients. The perfume opens with aromatic notes of saffron and cinnamon and proceeds to a resinous heart composed of Copahu balm and cypriol and settles down into Laotian Oud. This is elegant, nice and well blended but not particularly different from many less expensive Arabian Ouds on the market. But there is no denying it has a beautiful mysterious allure to it. Unisex with moderate to strong projection and sillage and good longevity. Enjoy!

From all the Oud Moods this line offers this one is my favorite. It took me a few times of wearing it to come to appreciate it. One day it clicked and I love it from there on. Full bottle worthy for sure. Not for a day at the park or a picnic...colder weather or controlled AC does seem to bring out what its got to offer...formal occasion perhaps. Ill wear it with a nice button-down and some nice shoes.

Strong cinnamon over a resinous, ambery base with saffron. Of course, there's no actual oud, but it's a lovely perfume, and quite different to the other MFK "ouds". After an hour this is leather. But not Tom Ford leather, this is realistic, worn Moroccan or Italian leather, like a bag bought from a souk that lasts for decades.

a very high quality earthy spicy leather, I would say a mix of Duro and Oud Khôl from Guerlain, FK was at his best when he designed it, it is art in a luxurious bottle, it is very close to Oud Cachmere which is more wearable. this wonder is made for well developed noses, very long lasting 9/10

I am really enjoying this fragrance today and its not as intense as the Satin Mood fragrances. I love this and the first Oud scent of the line and I will also be experiencing the Silk Mood. I have a dated sample so it may not have the oomph that others experienced but I am really enjoying it!

This is the oud I've been searching for. This isn't sharp, stinging, medicinal band aidy, barn yard oud. This is soft, dirty warmth, and, well, a velvety medicinal band aid. Aha moment. Now I get it! This is warm skin in a smoke filled, shadowy room. This is what all the fuss has been about.

Smells like a higher quality and smoother Tom Ford Oud Wood and hints of Tuscan Leather. Guess the saffron is doing the work!

Been wearing it for about 3 days straight...it's just so good..

Francis Kurkdijan is one of those perfumers that you either love or hate usually, which is what initially made this fragrance so odd for me. It's just a solid 'like'. I haven't felt this indifferent to one of his creations since Green Tea... and even that was closer to a 'love' However, while this may seem like an all out attack on this fragrance, it really isn't. This, much like Green Tea, is the type of scent I turn to when I really want something soothing and something I don't have to think about and just feel around me. For the cost, it's criminal... for less, it could be in my wardrobe, no issues. The Oud is nice, it's a little spicey and very warm. Have you tried an oud like this? yes. Does it try to be overly different? I don't think so. Probably intended to be a respectful nod towards middle eastern perfume. Quite a loving, respectful nod. I do quite adore the saffron and cinnamon though. Meticulous blending... just not interesting enough to shell out the big dollars. Coromandel wasn't that interesting either, but that gave me a feeling that this can't. I absolutely adore Kurkdijan and, by default, I still keep returning to this in Mecca Maxima... but other than that, solid like.

It's a different work from other perfumes in the same series, but it reminded me of CN Soul 3-4 minutes after I sprayed the perfume. Of course, I can say that the biggest difference between them is metallic air which is not in "CN Soul". I think it will be easier to explain over Soul. It's like Soul but smells deeper, stronger and metallic. I got bored when I used CN Soul for a long time, it is in my collection with 30 ml in the bottle. I didn't like Velvet too much, but I'll give it another chance in the cold weather of winter. The smell of Velvet at this price made me appreciate Soul once again. Well done Dominique ...

This is a dense, dark, and fluid composition that can easily overpower if you're not prepared. Very similar to Cashmere mood from the same collection but with a huge cinnamon note that lasts throughout the top, middle, and drydown. Not the kind of cinnamon you get from Big Red gum, but real cinnamon that you grate off the bark of a tree. If you don't like cinnamon I suggest trying Cashmere mood, but if you do you'll be rewarded with one of the smoothest developments in this genre. Hmmm, smooth, dense, and pretty fluid...definitely sounds like velvet to me. Mr. K, your nose is witchcraft.

I got this as a sample from MFK. It's different and I like different. Summer heat magnifies this into a herbal bomb. It's fresh and made for cool weather and it works really nice with my jasmine vanilla shower gel. I'm going to try layering with something citrus. On its own I find it pleasant after a few hours.

The following review is really for my notes only, its very brief and leaves out a ton of details. Im just typing something that I remember each by. Im sure I will disrespect someones favorite fragrance too. Suede oud drying into medicinal oud.

very masculine scent, very "oudy", long lasting, fresh. a bit like royal oud of armani privé or by killian pure oud, or kurkdjian oud. not my style but maybe quite an impressive scent for a man

Another (not so wise) blind buy. (I do tend to do this a lot during these self isolating times.)) Three words that best describe this fragrance for me: expensive, cloying, beast. I did find some nuanced and interesting spice somewhere in the middle, but overall it turned out to be too overwhelmingly sweet & heavy to agree with me although I do like some oudy, spicy, leathery unisex. My gay male friend however got super excited about it and snatched it away from me in a jiffy. His favourite fragrance is Noir de Noir btw which I’m also not a big fan of for myself. Husband’s (knows-nothing-about-perfume, favours Terre & Vetiver Tonka by Hermes) verdict: smells rotten and sweet to the point of nauseating.

I just can't get past the burnt note in this fragrance. Yes, it does recede a little on drydown, but it is still present. No, it's not as strong a burnt note as Oud Cashmere Mood, but for me it's still dominant. I'm not really interested in smelling burnt. I'm not a huge fan of floral notes, as some of my other reviews show, but for me, smelling charred is even worse than smelling like a rose bush. I'm even prepared to accept the campfire note in Amouage Interlude Man, but I can't accept it here, even though I do love some of the MFK fragrances. This doesn't work for me, but it may work for you and your nose. I'm also surprised that some people have compared this scent to Costume National's Soul. To my nose, Oud Velvet Mood resembles Soul as much as a burnt, chargrilled steak resembles a creme caramel (not burned). Although they both involve caramelization, the steak is cooked not only with flame but also with the smoke from its own fat, while the creme caramel is caramelized with a clean, smokeless flame. A creme caramel is free of any charcoal aroma, unlike Oud Velvet Mood.

MFK has many crowdpleasers. APOM and LNpH are favorites of mine. Amyris is considered a generic mainstream scent and their normal OUD might be the most pleasing oud for oud sceptics. But, this here is a total scrubber for me. Rubbery, rough, industrial. Fortunately, it does not project that heavily. After a few hours it has almost vanished. So I had to look for a ultra sweet scent in my samples box to uplift my mood. I'm not a big fan of sweet scents, but I never enjoyed Creed's Original Santal that much. Too artsy for me. Could be a Comme des garcons release with Oud instead of their beloved incense.

I’ll have to keep this subjective. I get an austere, beige feel. It makes me imagine the future in the 50s, the Brussels Atomium and vinyl seats in old Citroëns, or those Parisian street side tourist trap brasseries that are all velvet, vinyl and brass on the interior. Strong leather vibe from the saffron and oud, topped off with some sweet meringue, or a wrapped toffee long forgotten in an expensive leather handbag, next to odd coins and lipstick. It’s not even remotely a like for me, since it only smells of inanimate things. But I see how it would please or even fascinate.

I will admit that I probably do not like the "real oud" even though I am a huge fan of synthetics (?) used in Montale's and other perfumes. The thing with oud in VELVET MOOD is that it's very rubbery, smoky and bonfire like, for me it actually resembles burnt flesh a bit, so I am definitely not a fan. But underneath the burnt flesh note I can feel a smooth, sweet balmy scent I do enjoy very much. Great staying power - more than 12 hours.

Super strong and very medicinal and leathery! Another blind buy and I don’t know whether this is a good or bad blind buy for me. I know for sure I can’t wear this everyday and anywhere. To my nose, upon the first spray, I get that medicinal, burned wood and burned plastic/rubber (I don’t know why I get that smell). But after it dries down all I get is Oud and leather. I don’t understand why others get that sweetness vanilla smell??

Of the three OUD Mood Collection offerings, I believe this to be the most well-blended. Opens very similarly to cashmere mood with bitter oud note, now slightly softened by the inclusion of saffron. As the dry down develops, the spiciness of cinnamon and resinous Copahu balm weighs in, giving it an earthy balance. Again I prefer the original OUD offering from Kurkdjian rather than these flankers. (26)

This is very inky and a bit headache inducing. If you want to have the same experience as this frag just rub some ink on yourself. Save the trouble and not chase this down, the MFK oud line is a proven disappointment (not satin ex) with their bad rendition of the “oud” note

This is a complex and fragrance which should be worn by a serious "no frills oud lover". I personally found the untamed oud to be too straightforward, especially in the beginning. However, the drydown was somewhat intriguing and cinammony as well as woody. Not for me...

This is terrible. Too medicinal/herbal. Projection is stellar as mentioned but who wants to smell like this. I would rather wear the cheap Kanon oud than this. I really am glad I swapped and got a sample of this. If you like Aramis 900 then you would like this.

I own 18 bottles of MFK and this is the one I just couldn’t stand, it’s nasty smelling. Obviously there’s no real Oud in any of MFK fragrances, just cheap synthetic oud . Even the famous TF Oud Wood has ZERO oud in it. It’s all synthetic. I still like it, for what it is. The scent is unique and nice. Pure oud oil is VERY expensive, the scent is mesmerizing and very long lasting. It is extracted and distilled from agarwood and it can not be synthesized. Oud also comes in many varieties and smells, the rare wild Oud is the most expensive and it’s becoming extinct fast. Farm raised Oud wood is cheaper and mass produced. Most Niche perfumers use this farmed oud, it’s cheaper but it has no character, it’s all the same smell. Artisinal Oud that houses like Ensar Oud offers VERY expensive rare wild growing Oud but imho it’s worth the price, you will never smell anything like these rare Oud oils. I could only afford drops of Ensars Ouds . A few were sent to me as gifts because I made a purchase . Most ppl have never even smelt real oud. Once you do, you will always be able to pick out in a fragrance IF it has real or synthetic Oud in it. Areej Le Dore also has great authentic Oud . But the house sells out in minutes every time he releases anything great. I was lucky to buy two out of his 5 latest releases. And only one from the last release in 2020. And it wasn’t even the two that were the most sought after. Still very very beautiful and a wonderful addition to my ALD collection.

I’m a big fanboy of half this house and the other half just don’t seem to be worth a damn..But this is just an opinion! I really wanted Oud Cashmere Mood but settled for this as they were both disappearing for good!! And before I read it every where on here, I too also thought it smelled like money!! Along with that claim to be oud smell you get in the Oud and Silk & Satin Mood Extrait’s I also get the rubber along with some earthy natural smelling cinnamon. This isn’t for just anybody. Hell no!! This is for someone who’s out to make a statement! Don’t think it’s gonna garner any kind of complements, You need to have people’s attention already! & it’ll definitely add to it...One should never count on a fragrance alone to do anything for you! They’re just accessories to the personality you have! It’s kind of sad the thousands of views a YouTuber gets for a Top Ten List Of Panty Droppers & all the followers who go & purchase them regardless of whether or not they truly like it!! This was discontinued because the masses obviously didn’t like it near enough! At one point after getting carded samples of this & cashmere mood I decided I wanted to try & rock them & still as of now want Oud Cashmere Mood more than any other fragrance to date!! & If anyone happens to have it, Anything in my collection is up for grabs!! It’s crazy how our taste even in fragrances changes like our tastes in food. I remember when these two first came out, I myself like many of others thought they where the absolute worst lol

Nice resinous sawdusty opening which to me is the best of the line, a little more unexpected - I found the other ones a bit obvious, nothing too new or original to my nose. Medium level niche quality as I’ve come to expect from the house, smooth and polished character like the others from the line, but this has something a little more. All the others leaned a little fem to me, but this has a little more bite to it. This house do safe fragrances but this is a touch darker than the rest. Mildly animalic oud, leathery nuances but not barnyard at all. Very safe dark woody like burnt mahogany... Just struggle to recommend the house to anyone as most seem to be dull scents for bland people going to galas and balls and bland occasions that are too stuffy and formal for people to have any real fun. Am I wrong? Am I missing something? I’ve smelled hundreds of fragrances, but I’m not very impressed. God how I wish I was, it would end this never-ending search lol ... sometimes in this life it takes a long times to find the things we truly love. Looks like I’ll be kissing a lot of frogs along the way... definitely the best from the line though.

Had my concerns about this one as a choice for a club setting, but it's a very solid compliment-getter at 5 sprays. The sprayer on my bottle gives very little juice compared to my bottle of AplS, but probably a good thing here. Lasting power is unreal, hands down the strongest and most long lasting perfume I own. The scent itself is actually very oudy, which is rare for most scents labelled "oud." It has that sheep/cheese sort of vibe but somehow here it's so much less difficult to swallow than in many eastern perfumes. In that sense it's a very authentic even if rather westernized oud. Supporting are cinnamon and copahu balm, the latter of which I'm not super familiar with as my only experience with it is having smelled it in two other perfumes and getting a vague idea of its scent. The two notes create a shimmering metallic vibe which to me is quite warm and spicy. Others have called this perfume thin, tinny, and cheap smelling, but I feel the complete opposite. This is a robust fragrance with a discernable progression and a depth not found in many other oud scents (or other scents at all).

Oud Velvet Mood by Maison Francis Kurkdjian A great blind buy! I feel sexy when I wear Oud Velvet Mood. The opening is strong, exotic, smoky and medicinal oud. You must love the smell of oud to wear this, I love the way this oud smells, a little skanky, so intoxicating, it is perfect. The saffron came through shortly after the opening, I love the soft spicy cinnamon. I sense an unusual warm resinous smell from copahu balm, I have never smelled this dark resin before, it smells great almost incensy. It also has a bit of an ambery feel to the copahu balm. Copahu balm and saffron enhances the smell of the heavenly oud I love the dried cinnamon sticks smell from Ceylon cinnamon. There is a metallic smell, I am sure it comes from the saffron. Copahu balm becomes softer at the drydown. Oud Velvet Mood is sensual, beautiful, dark and is a compliment getter! It lasts almost all day on my skin and sillage is soft but still noticeable by others who are closer to you I spray my back and enjoy wafts of this exotic oud for a few hours. It is unisex completely wearable for men and women.

Really strongly butch-y - smoky, strong, pungent - with a disturbing patch of man-BO for a while as it matured on my (female) skin, enough to turn me off it slightly ... and I am very keen on oud in general, smoke in particular, and the more manly side of unisex stuff. Also a really palpable presence of that very very strong - and to my nose oddly seductive and reassuring - medicinal, Band-Aid, sticking-plaster note that oud can bring. Projection and sillage are both absolutely HUGE so if you like it, it may even be worth the astronomical price. Beast mode for sure. Personally I was looking for something oudy and smoky but not too macho, to break out of somewhat clichéd rose + oud mix, but this one is a bit out of my league in assertiveness as well as price. But with X thousand ouds on the market right now, how will I ever find my perfect one? I guess I'll have to keep on looking and trying.

this one is certainly similar to cashmere, but for me gets the nod. they both have that medicinal/bandaid oud smell (i know there's no oud in this, that much is clear to see...), but this one is smoother and has an all-round balance to it. the cinnamon smoothes it out, as does the copahu. and the saffron also calms down the oud. also, a few hours in, there's a basketball card 'tinge' to the scent. i feel like it's an ultra fleer card smell thing going on. it's quite interesting, really... if, and ONLY if, you were thinking of getting a perfume to commemorate six years of hard slog and use it as a reward to yourself, well, i'm sure it'd be well received...

عود ولوت موود عطری که سه چهار ساله دنبالشم ولی وقتی گرفتمش و تستش کردم ناامیدم کرد یه کار عودی که اصلا اون جذابیت و کیفیت و بوی خوب عودی که تو ساتین موود باهاش مواجه هستین اینجا خبری از اون نیست یه عود تقریبا میوه ای که بنظرم بخاطر ترکیبش با زعفران و دارچین هست تقریبا یه خورده بوی آدامس خرسی میده ولی خیلی شباهت زیادی با کیوپید ۱۲۶۰ داره دقیقا همونه یا این کپی خونه یا برعکس بهرحال عود ساتین موود کجا و عود ولوت موود کجا زمین تا آسمون فرق دارن از همه نظر من سری چهارتایشو تو شقایق تست کردم حدود شش هفت سال پیش یکی شون خیلی عالی بود ساتین رو گرفتم عاشقش شدم ولی اونی که من مدنظرم بود دیدم اون نیست بنظرم کشمیر باشه چون ولوت و ساتین رو دارم کشمیر و سیلک میمونن

This to me is more like its namesake - velvet - than the other oud mood series. The opening is typically tarry thanks to oud, but that calms down considerably in drydown (Oud Cashmere Mood seems more smoky to me) It does feel velvety and I find it reminds me a bit of sandalwood but that's probably the Copahu Balm though I've no idea what that smells like on its own. It's a lovely combination with saffron and the cinnamon just adds a little warmth. It's gentle in its woodiness, reminding me vaguely of perfumes such as Tam Dao, or Passage d'Enfer, quite light if you spray lightly but good longevity, comforting.

Oud Velvet Mood strikes as a sort of smoother version of ByKilian Pure Oud. These fragrances share exactly the same notes list with the only difference in Pure Oud listing also cypriol. A classic, minimalistic, saffron-oud combo which feels dark and smooth at the same time. Seems a bit weak during the opening but then, out of nowhere, the fragrance starts projecting and radiating as hell for hours and hours. Very nicely blended but, considering you can get Pure Oud refills for cheaper, I would probably stick to the By Kilian which feels overall deeper and less *westernized*. Good stuff though. Rating: 7/10

I think it should be named Saffron Velvet Mood! The driest edition from the 3 Mood collection that I've tried, the opening is similar to Cashmere Oud slightly with a bitter edge, and more spicy at the dry-down! I find the oud here very medicinal, making the scent very earthy; it also has a super smokey note (less smokey than Cashmere Oud), smells like a campfire; the cinnamon shows up very clearly at the dry-down, and I get also a herbal/green mix!!, I actually find it leans more to be a masculine more than unisex. I get similarities with Pure Oud By Killian, but with a Francis Kurkdijan's Stamp on it!

This is the driest MFK Oud scent for me ..... I don't find it Velvety at all, much more like Hemp or Burlap, in a good way, if dry is your thing. Very Oriental Spice Shop, which used to be something I was after in a scent, a bit like Oriental Lumpur. Oddly, of the five Ouds in my posession, this one has almost zero projection on me, while the others surround me with a wonderful haze. Being the proud owner of 11mm sizes of five MFK Ouds I will layer it with Oud Satin Mood to warm it up a bit and to cool down the Satin which has a bit too much Vanilla for my taste, there!

Well... The one thing I smell right away here is the very recognizable synthetic Firmenich oud interpretation of the real wild agarwood. I have to say I don't mind because I kinda like it (and sometimes use it when I make my own juices). It's very soft and clean to me. A basalmic ambiance even a little too sweetened though the opening is enhanced by a little spice that doesn't last much. Nice but a little dull... Nevertheless this is a shame that perfume is that expensive without (apparently) not a drop of the real precious and incredible oud substance.

wow...this one is cut from the same cloth a cashmere mood and makes the same 'first impression'. it hits your nasal cavity like a slug to the chest and assaults thereon. wow...it's potent. the medicinal band-aid oud is front and centre, and like cashmere mood, is mostly basenote. this one, however, is a little more spicy, and as a whole, a little more stomachable than cashmere. by and large, exquisite scents expertly put together with high quality ingredients. this one is not a 'daily scent'; no way. this is a 'special occasions' kinda scent. wowsers...

Harsh and medicinal opening, definitely my least favorite of the MFK oud line. This oud is that of the band aid kind, which to me is not something I want to smell like. Apparently there is cinnamon in here, of which I cannot detect. It is just a mix of saffron and oud and that is about it. I also cannot picture a woman pulling this off in my honest opinion. The whole composition is almost metallic in nature and because of its band aid aspect I really advise against blind buying this. 4/10

Oud is fragrance material that is loved by true fragrance lover and not common people. It happens to me whenever I spray this MFK Oud Velvet Mood , my friends around me will start to complain about the strange and strong aroma. However, after couple of hours, their rjection turns into compliment and I have gotten so much when wearing it. It becomes my signature scent for night occasion since it s almost impossible to smell velvety in the humid and hot temperature of Jakarta, Indonesia.

wow...just...wow. The 'oud' here is monumental. that bitter, medicinal, band-aid smell is immense. it is indeed softened with base, earthy tones, but, by and large, it is quite strong. the cinnamon smoothes it out for a bit, but it is quite potent. i like this quite a lot, but I can't think of anywhere i'd be able to wear without getting comments. this is a very well put-together scent that is awesome to smell...

I agree with the other comment that it smells like brand new freshly printed dollar bills.. in a oudy balsamic way. Woody, minimalistic, resinous and inky but not sweet. It gets creamy in the drydown and it's very long lasting. It was definitely a statement fragrance that didn't do well. In the same vein as Santal Blush and Tam Dao...
