Ragù

Like its name, this perfume is an interesting mishmash of ingredients that strangely work as a whole. The end product is a modern aromatic spicy scent that is elegant and interesting. The perfume opens with notes of pink pepper, bergamot and orange. The heart showcases leather and cashmere wood. Finally it settles on a bed of amber and cedar. This is not a scent that will please purists. It needs a rather broad mind to appreciate fully. Unisex with moderate to strong sillage and good longevity. This is an interesting modern puzzle of a perfume that is fun to solve and wear. Enjoy!

Ragù falls is one of those fragrances that I appreciate as a treasure chest of precious memories and where the creator put her heart. The conceptual reproduction not so much of the dish itself as of what revolves around it: a reminiscence of life lived, of past times to which we always turn with a smile. In this case, Gabriella Chieffo tried to share with us the meaning of the plate: the women who for eight hours, patiently, cooked this dish, as if it were an essential pillar of Sunday, the day when the whole family sat at the table leaving behind the daily life. The joy transmitted by the spices, which give freshness and which remain throughout the composition, is taken under arm’s length by soft and deep leathery and woody notes, which make us think of the consistency of the moment, important and, although so apparently insignificant, meaningful. Ideal for those who love spicy and strong personality, for all seasons.

this is a spicy, leathery and woody mix, that, for mine, doesn't go anywhere interesting enough to warrant a subsequent try or anything else. the leather is coming off a little synthetic and chemically, and that is leaching into the rest of the components giving the scent an overall chemically taint. that works sometimes for some scents, but it doesn't for this one. leather dominates, and it's a meek leather, at that. that isn't necessarily bad or anything, it's just not paired up well with the other components. there's spice lurking not too far behind, but by and large they're quite tepid and as such the whole scent is let down. to tell you the truth, i'm not quite sure what sort of direction the scent wanted to head in, it's hard to read. overall, it's a meh from me...
