I bought this because I wanted another animalic fragrance, and that's exactly what I got. I don't get lots of honey or amber, it's mainly ambergris and musk, in that order, and it's glorious. The ambergris reminds me of the white variety used in Affinessence Musc Ambre Gris. Nice quality scent that unfortunately is discontinued, so if you like these two ingredients with a vintage vibe, grab this if you can still find it. Musk as it's finest... An intensive musk at its finest, & i believe the ambergris is the note that is adding that water mineral effect to it. This is very raw, kind of savage, & very musky... sexual to be specific with a touch of saltiness & i believe it is from the raw ambergris. I believe "Musk Mantra" by Memoirs Of A Perfume Collector got inspired extremely by "Coeur de Musc". Beautiful but be aware of its animalistic character.

I really wanted to like this perfume, but it just smells exactly like a porta-potty

Initialy I smelled nothing when I sprayed this on a tester strip, but after a couple of minutes i went back and it smells like straight up urine to me with a soft round musky-ness around it.

This perfume is almost a straightforward dupe for Les Nereides Fleur Poudree dr Musc. The later has a prominent flower note in the heart (tuberose?) - but beyond that, they’re almost identical. If you’re still longing for that discontinued gem then Couer de Musc is your man.
