Favourite Sin

Still going through the discovery set, and this one stood out right away. Worth to mention ive been following the brand pretty closely on instagram, to get updates and watch the process of how things are being made. Ive seen the discovery set in a local shop here and the presentation got me curious. This one feally feels like if Serge Lutens and Francesca Bianchi had a baby. It's dense, resinous, with something dark-herbal in the opening. The opening is spicy and dark with cardamom and pepper, followed by a deep plum note that adds richness without turning sweet. As it develops, it goes boozy and little smoky. Rum, myrrh, and black tea give it a heavy, almost sticky warmth.. It feels intimate not clean or polished. Longevity is good and sillage is noticeable but controlled. if you like resinous, darker orientals with a vintage edge, this one is definitely worth testing.

Favourite Sin, the name is appropriate because this is one of my favorites. It opens with a beautiful rose and tea note. As it settles a little, the rum and cardemom comes. It's a little sweet in the back, just enough to enhance the rose and tea notes. The combination with the cardemom are working really great together, never too much cardemom Sensual and unique, confident and bold

A dark, resinous rose wrapped in smoke, leathered woods, and honey. It feels serious, composed, almost austere, yet deeply sensual. Slightly sweet, spicy, rose water, cardamom freshness. This is rose treated as substance, not ornament. One of most confident and uncompromising compositions i have smelled lately.

This is a masterpiece lots of spices on top with some floral and rum in the base Opening is strong and then it projects well for a couple of hours before becoming a skin scent

🖤 Favourite Sin dropped back in 2018, and I’ve got the deep earthy 2021 batch. This one’s a proper throwback from Jacob Chimoni’s early work you can see where the Maison Jaxob DNA started to come alive. Straight away you get that dark, rich, luxury vibe, plum, cardamom, rose, rum, incense, myrrh and woods all blending together. It’s not just a fragrance that smells good, it’s got a whole mood to it. Proper mysterious, smooth and classy. This one feels like the blueprint for that darker Jaxob style. You can see little bits of this DNA running through some of the newer drops the incense, the resins, the woods and that deep, artistic feel. For me, Favourite Sin sits around 3rd or 4th in the whole Maison Jaxob lineup. It might not be the newest or the loudest one, but it’s got history. It helped build the identity of the house.🥀
