Amber & Rosewood

The rosewood isn't real, and you get more of a wet cardboard smell than anything truly woody, making me think more of myrrh than anything else listed. The oud gives it some depth and slight fruitiness. However, the gothic ambery richness I like is here. And even though it's not terribly memorable, it has become a comfort scent I grab on a cold day when I'm just wanting to be enveloped in rich ambery vanilla. In fact, it's become such a favorite that I'm lamenting how much international shipping makes this one difficult to justify obtaining.

Very nice perfume which gives overall what It promise: amber and rosewood. The quality is high with a very natural scent. The background is like a very soft and subtle rose/oud/vanilla perfume. This brand remember me a bit to jo Malone but with much better performance. In this case the longevity is quité good while the sillage is softer. I bought it for my quest on rosewood, sadly I do not get much...there is a whiff of slight woodiness, but to me smells more like sandalwood. The amber is very soft as well, I get about 70% vanilla/benzoin, 10% amber, 10% woody notes and 10% citruses. I think the vanilla may as well come from Label's other frag named Vanilla. Sorry but no resemblance at all to Grand Soir, so if you're looking for a due, this is not even close. Nice nonetheless and a safe blind buy, easily unisex.

Powdery classic buttery amber with splintery wood, a slightly rank note, and a hint of scream. Not the rosewood i know from (admittedly sadly endangered) essential oil. This is more of a dark teak. The fruity twang of real rosewood is missing. This is an ok woody amber. The spiky wood note didn’t take over, but it was pronounced enough that I didn’t love it. I would agree it is similar to Grand Soir, but the wood is less cedar-y than GS. Blessed Baraka was pure rubbing alcohol on me, so I disagree with that similarity.

Amber Rosewood smells similar to Grand Soir minus the rubber note/accord. This one is pretty much a gourmand, smells like a fancy bakery joint. Not something I would wear, but I can say I appreciate it.
