Antidris Cassis

Antidris is a very green, earthy rose scent. It opens tart and greenly-woody with some mouth-puckering fruitiness to it. The top notes are zesty and prickly, but as they dry down they combine with the putty-like warmth of the tonka note and the slight latheriness of the musk to create what feels like the greener version of a balsamic accord. I also get an earthy, slightly smoky undertone from the oakmoss note. It's a pleasantly natural and nuanced composition, with a vibe that's both bracing and calming. You're in an abandoned, overgrown garden on a cold day in early spring. Smoke streams from the chimney of the cottage the garden belongs to, and you'd quite like to go back inside where it's warm and there's coffee, but the garden is long overdue for tending, and you've already armed yourself with a pair of long-handled pruning sheers and an old, heavily-patched gardening jacket. It's hard to make a start, but it'll get easier soon, with the exertion warming you up and carrying you forwards. When I first smelled Antidris, the resemblance to L'Ombre Dans L'Eau sprang to mind instantly, and indeed, even for a rose lover like myself the two fragrances are similar enough that I haven't been able to justify having both, though I do find that L'Ombre leans a bit greener and fresher, while Antidris has an undertone of soft, earthy warmth that L'Ombre lacks.

i luvv itt, it's just smell like a mix of fresh and earthy and i love to smell like roses cause it reminds me of my homeland which is known for producing roses and i like that it doesn't go into the sweet smell of a rose but more of the leaves and a field. it's just waaaa <3

I like this one a lot! It has a honey, nectar-like opening coupled with inviting fruity notes. I couldn't really smell the green-ess the first few times I tried it but now I can and it offers a new dimension to the rich, cassis experience. It has pretty good longevity, IMO, at least 6 hours and even longer when applied to my hair. I enjoy the sweet whiffs of scent throughout the day. When I tried other scents from this house I kept thinking about how they do not give me the same satisfaction as Antidris Cassis. Something about this scent is so addictive-- I keep sniffing my wrist and I felt mildly distressed every time I saw how much was left in my sampler. That's when I knew this would be full bottle worthy! Yes, it does smell a lot like Diptyque's L'ombre dans l'eau but Antidris Cassis is more like just the essence of that fragrance profile, and longer lasting IMO.

Bright citrus and uplifting pepper are strong off the bat, like a high-end cleaning product. The cassis is central and creates a feeling like walking through a thick woods in the summertime as the sun beams from between the leaves and onto the foliage bellow. Extremely fresh and aromatic. All of the fragrances from this house give me a comforting feeling of nastolgia as they are all reminiscent of childhood memories of nature. Good for an outgoing citrus rose lover

You want a Baies/L'Ombre dans l'Eau dupe, for a little less in a "clean" formula (whatever that means)? Here you are. Rose and blackcurrant on a soft musky/mossy base, you've probably experienced this before. In particular, I'm missing the Henri Bendel Black Currant candle. This brand's candles and the perfumes and oils are all fine quality, perhaps not the most original of scents or very long-lasting, but worth checking out.

A bouquet of roses a couple days after I’ve bought them. I can smell the bright green stems, leaves, slightly clouded water in the vase, and the petals that are just about to wilt, swollen with moisture inside. It’s that slight touch of decay that keeps the rose smelling soft and realistic. Good summer scent!

First wore this as the oil, which I think is a better version (more subtleties to it, and the spray doesn't offer much more in terms of sillage or longevity, which is what I'd hoped for). But still love the scent overall, very clean, and I like this one to spritz inside my coat.

Agree with others. L’Ombre dans l’eau. But maybe that’s not a bad thing? The Diptyque gave me a migraine but I like the scent - maybe this one won’t?

This is really nice and unique. I can't believe it's non toxic, it's a stronger scent good for fall/winter. Notes listed here match.

Upon initial spray there was an overwhelming, synthetic, potpourri type stank that both my boyfriend and I were accosted with. Not bad enough that I felt I had to wash it off, but for the next hour or so I was scared to lift my wrist anywhere near my nose. Thankfully as it settled onto my skin the cassis became less cloying and artificial and the rose and musk took over. I would wear it again as a testament to my resiliency, but those first few minutes bring to mind more of a soylent green than the fanciful, romantic greens I had been hoping for.

it smelled kinda soapy to me but with a very strong rose smell. if you love roses this is for you!

This kind of rose scent is a miss for me, it is full pollen tickle and powdery. The cassis and oakmoss make this astringent and herbal - almost like there's a juniper note? I am also testing the Nest Turkish Rose Perfume oil which I think would be great to layer with this. I think the juicy and jammy rose would add a fuller rose note.

too similar with l’ombre dans l’eau. i think they just copied it. almost all of this line is similar with some other brand’s signature fragrances.

2 Strong Green scent when I sprayed it (maybe cassis) then, the ROSES dominate it hard, very hard.

This is not a good take on Rose. It is way to green. The bergamot and black currant overpower the rose and kill it. I could not get this off fast enough it made me sick. The only 2 fragrances I liked from this brand are #5 Kandali which I own and the #2 Le Long Fond which my husband wears. If you want a pretty true rose fragrance try the all natural house Gather perfume's Rainwater Rose. If you want something that is like a rose garden after a rain shower try Scent Strips Fresh Morning. Both are lovely rose fragrances that stay true and do not misrepresent the Queen of Flowers.

Decaying rose with sweetness and some depth, quite a heavy scent. Not my cup of tea.

Yes, this does indeed smell much like L'Ombre Dans L'Eau from Diptyque. Same blackcurrant/rose duo. Antidris Cassis differs in that it smells much sweeter to me and lighter, brighter. L'Ombre Dans L'eau has always smelled darker and more earthy, red rose, from what I remember. This fragrance is has a sweet pink rose, with plenty of bergamot to pull out those lemony facets of rose. I like this one, particularly on a cooler spring day. I think that's where blackcurrant really shines. It doesn't last that long on me, however. It's quite strong when I first apply, but after maybe 3 hours or so, it's very muted, and the sharp signature blackcurrant scent has gone. What's left is something I really can't pinpoint, maybe just a sweet musk? So I would try this one and L'Ombre Dans L'Eau (both EDT and EDP) on your skin, to see which one suits you and lasts on your skin.

The short version is that it's very similar to Diptyque's green, mysterious L'Ombre Dans L'Eau. The longer version is that a natural rose is supported by earthy, musky and green notes. The cassis doesn't make this too sweet or bright, but instead just adds a touch of wine stain to the rose petals. This scent is shadowy and deep and addictive. I've been really impressed by this house; it does a fantastic job of interpreting niche trends for the "clean" market. I love rose and try to stick to "clean" fragrances due to allergies, but I am a bit bored by rose perfumes with the clean label, which tend to be squeaky clean and inoffensively pretty. Antidris Cassis isn't one of those. Its rose still has some thorns and dirt, thankfully.

Antidris Cassis by Maison Louis Marie 2/5 First impression is blackcurrant with a bit of strength compared to its other sisters in the MLM house. It is the strongest one in the discovery book. It's not my cup of tea but could work well for others. Creates a three foot scent bubble. After fifteen minutes the rose starts to emerge but it doesn't make the perfume any better for me. Working through a purchased discovery set from Sephora. Wore at home. Would not purchase at this time.

The dry down smells so much like the Voluspa Rose Colored Glasses candle (and the entire rose line). It’s jammy and sweet but still a little fresh. If you like rose scents you need to get your nose on this one.
