No.10 Aboukir

I’ve worn this as a staple for ~5 years now. Sticky and spicy-sweet. Great for a blazing +35°C dry summers day. Imagine yourself bathed in ancient oils, and wear linen for a breeze to circulate against it on your skin. Surprises me every time I wear it. Nutmeg some days, carnation others, with lemon and eucalyptus to floating you through the hot day with amber and cedar for the evening cool down.

This is a very strong—masculine leaning (though I don’t usually go by gendered notes)—spicy scent. It’s very strong and I don’t get anything besides cumin, clove and some sour lemons on a background of wood. Yet, I don’t dislike it exactly. It does smell a bit like burning rubber in a hot and dry country. It reminds me a little bit of being in the middle of Morocco. I’m curious how it will layer to be a bit more unisex Edit 2024: I’m back to say that somehow my nose must have changed because now this smells very natural, herbal, and floral. The mix of flowers is now predominant with a spicy undercurrent that smells like a mix of cinnamon and mint. I still think it’s a challenging summer fragrance and blooms best in hot weather. Moving this from “ok” to “like”

The scent alone, not on my skin smells lovely and spiced and I could even get at some of the floral notes. But once on my skin it turns sour and smells of burning rubber with added spice. I wish this worked my my skin because it’s a wonderful scent.

I want to like this fragrance, but it just doesn't work for my skin. Very spicy and woody, with cinnamon and cumin as the stars of the show. The bottle smells amazing, but on my skin it walks the line between simple but tasteful and body odor.

This perfume is heavily spiced. I have the oil sample. The first note I smell is cumin. It's crazy that it's not listed. This is one of those BO / Body Odor fragrances that leans masculine on my skin. I wish I smelled nutmeg and carnation. It smells like a straight up unsweetened spice rack with lots of cumin. The perfume oil gets powdery over time but the spiciness never disappears. I'm not in love, but I do wear it to bed occasionally. -

i thought i was going to like it because i reallyyyy liked the candle scent but it was just too strong for me personally :(
